Speaker 1:That's two, we're going to die. Right in Right in Right in Right from the gate, ding ding, summer slam results. We did some predictions and I don't remember what everybody predicted, but I think none of us we predicted the same on everything except for the women's triple threat.
Speaker 3:Yes, we all got that one wrong.
Speaker 1:Awesome.
Speaker 3:Because nobody set Bianca.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because nobody wanted her to win.
Speaker 3:No one wanted that.
Speaker 2:It's not that I didn't think she was going to.
Speaker 3:I know you outright lost, like you weren't even contentioned, and contention because you said J to beat Roman.
Speaker 1:Yeah, why are you getting shots fired?
Speaker 3:Well, I just think, facts.
Speaker 1:You should have won.
Speaker 2:I also like said that.
Speaker 3:Oh, did you.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Oh then, yeah, I straight up won then.
Speaker 1:Look at that. Yeah Well, we got to keep her running tally because that's got to be a deal.
Speaker 2:We got to do Give me a pin.
Speaker 1:Who wins the? What we'll do it after the show.
Speaker 3:Well, I can tell you, I got one. I would say we the ones, but there's no we in. This is me. Me to one.
Speaker 1:Oh me one cookie. Okay, cool, okay. So the battle royal, everybody picked.
Speaker 3:It was the only option. Yeah, and it was weird, I had the last two battle royals. I remember watching. I watched, we all watched the international title one at double or nothing. I think it was, or was that. Was that forbidden door? Yeah, no, cause we watched forbidden door here, so it was double or nothing. We did. I did that as that same thing last week, but that one was really good. And then that one was good too for a WWE battle royal.
Speaker 1:Yep, nope, nobody here. Obviously disappointed that they finally gave LA night a moment.
Speaker 3:No Good, I mean they had to because they had that slimmed commercial right after that he was already in.
Speaker 2:They had to show that if he lost by accident.
Speaker 1:And I'm excited I'm working with you deserve something. They had to shoehorn Bianca in there too.
Speaker 3:He squashed top dollar on Saturday night? Yeah, wouldn't. Even I don't think top dollar got a move in for flop dollar. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Michael Coles and relentlessly ribbing him.
Speaker 3:Okay, that group has been nothing, since it's worth.
Speaker 1:No, yeah it's a. They definitely needed him. Yeah, it's been. I don't know if it can be salvage, but I don't think so. I think they were brought back.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it happened.
Speaker 1:Maybe you can do something separately with them. I don't know, but probably not. I don't think it's good. Maybe they can go back to NXT. It might work.
Speaker 3:They're maybe it is kind of a different crowd. Put them a trick. Don't do that, don't put them a trick.
Speaker 1:All right, Logan Paul versus Ricochet was the opening match of the night because Logan Paul had to get to his brother's fight later that night against an eight years. What did everybody think of the uh, of the opening contest?
Speaker 2:I didn't really care for it all that much.
Speaker 1:I have a logo, paul one.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I do remember you being a little annoyed throughout watching the whole thing, just talking about how punchable the face he had.
Speaker 2:Can you blame me?
Speaker 1:Him and his brother both have a punchable face but you have to admit he's very good, considering he's had like seven matches. His first match was at WrestleMania last year, not last year. Yeah.
Speaker 3:That tag with Ms against the mysterious?
Speaker 1:Yeah, that was last year and then this year he was against uh Seth.
Speaker 3:Oh shit, yeah, yeah, damn.
Speaker 1:So just a little over a year, seven matches, and he's that good. He's like if he dedicated himself to doing it full time, he would be a pretty amazing big star now.
Speaker 3:But I mean I wonder if they've even tried to convince him to do it. I don't know.
Speaker 1:I think they might want him to stay. A special attraction, I can see it. A big money drawer, something like that, but I was. I thought it. All of the matches are nominal. I thought they did really good. I was worried they were going to try some spots that were too intricate. That would get messed up.
Speaker 3:But they can't put together for the most part I had that one. I don't remember exactly what the sequence was on the outside to wear it To where they didn't land on the feet. I was the um, the Spanish fly that they didn't land standing. But yeah, no, that match was a lot of fun. I would have liked to see Ricochet win, but Logan Paul needed it more.
Speaker 1:Well, the, the what they protected him with the finish.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, the brass deal, that one I loved I don't know, I'm a sucker because it was old school, the whole.
Speaker 1:Pull the, pull the weapon out, use it and stick it down on your tights. That was, that's so eighties. Yeah, I love it. I don't know how many times somebody pulled out a roll of corn, a quarters or, or would tape their fist up, bam, drop them, slip it back in their tights. Because who wants to go investigate and look in somebody's tights to see if they had a weapon? A solid point, yeah, all right. Moving on Rhonda, rousey, shane, but we're not necessarily going in order. I'm going in order of the way I had them on my sheet. Yeah, but Rhonda and Shayna, the MMA fight, I'll, I'll just I'll start this one and I'll say I think this was the worst match of the night, like I predicted it to be.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the only thing I remember was the head kick that got a reaction on me because I missed, like I wasn't fully looking. I thought she blasted the hell out of her.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, If they would have, they would have went with that for the end, just like a phantom phantom knocker like that. It might have been cool. It would definitely have been better because it'd been shorter.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but I feel like if that did happen we wouldn't have seen the knee to her eye and we wouldn't see.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I forgot about that knee, dad.
Speaker 3:You see her on raw, I saw her, I was like ooh, and he was kind of nasty.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was. Yeah it was pretty rough. I mean, the match is about what you would expect it to be. You know, I worked shoot, so those couple of couple spots that were still those- never really work in in wrestling.
Speaker 3:It's weird I don't know what it is. Maybe it's it, maybe it's because if you watch actual like MMA and then you watch wrestling, you know that it's. They look nothing similar. So if you try and combine the two, it just doesn't. It doesn't really work. I don't know. It doesn't look. It doesn't look natural.
Speaker 1:Yeah, this is the biggest part. But then we had another heart-hitting battle though Drew McIntyre and loved it. I was so happy. Oh yeah, maybe the T total hell out of each other and Gunther got the win, so I'm happy about that.
Speaker 2:I missed a majority of that match because I was touching your watermelon.
Speaker 3:So you were cutting up a water with that point. Priorities.
Speaker 1:Um, I think Cody and Brock, I don't know if that was a net match.
Speaker 3:Cody and Brock was like the third second master.
Speaker 2:Like it was early on.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But yeah, it was, hunter made that joke of Brock being upset that he wasn't the first match and so that's why I loaded him. Yeah, he was like yeah, that was like the second match came on immediately after that's why Logan ran.
Speaker 3:It's cause he had to get away from angry Brock yeah.
Speaker 1:He had a flight to catch. But yeah, I think the momentum continues for Gunther. I think he's definitely going to break the honky tonk man.
Speaker 3:I just, I don't know, Record they, they set up for it on raw Chad Gables no more, and so get to see a full length match with that and I think it's going to be really good. I do too.
Speaker 1:I think I'm in Chad Gables, obviously super talented and not really used the way he should be the closest they've ever had with American alpha.
Speaker 3:And that was. Everybody saw how good that worked.
Speaker 1:I mean, I think, if you had him in, like an intercontinental title or US title pitcher and gave him a run with the title. You know some defenses, some high profile matches. I think you could do something with Gable.
Speaker 3:They just they heard his reputation so much with that shorty G gimmick. Yeah, thankfully that was short lived, yeah, yeah, so I think what was what was was next on your predictor is a Cody Brock.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we can go, cody Brock.
Speaker 3:So I think Cody Brock, despite the one glaring problem with it, which is the step spot yeah, like that, that almost took me out of that tire match because it broke my brain. Because you're not allowed to do that.
Speaker 1:I mean, it was not labeled as a no DQ match.
Speaker 3:Oh, it wasn't so. So why didn't he get DQ'd Brock? One Brock got screwed. I don't know, I don't know what the deal was and, like you, you go through this entire story of this match, of Cody being Like persevering, coming back, getting beat up and no matter why. He's like nah man, I'm getting up and I'm bringing this fight, but then you got to use the exposed turnbuckle and steps and finish your spam to beat Brock like it's Brock Lesnar.
Speaker 1:Cody, cody, cody had to go through, as Jim Cornette would say go travel through hell with gasoline bridges on.
Speaker 3:I've never heard that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think I messed it up, but it's pretty close to that. But yeah, I mean he had to had to go through the ringer to pull the victory out. And then we seen the, the post match where Brock came in shook hands, showed Cody off to the fans, almost like an acknowledgement, or not not a passing of the torch, but like a, just like a Acknowledging that Cody's the guy from if I remember right it was either Cody or Triple H said it in that post press conference, saying that that was unplanned.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so Brock kind of went off and did that himself. I'm like, oh, that's nice to book it.
Speaker 1:Over like that. What'd you think, jeeps? I thought it was.
Speaker 2:I thought it was a really good match, considering Cody kind of injured himself a little early on and it had it made me like think flashbacks of when John Cena got.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that is true, yeah it was very similar. How's that to the. Well, what was that 20? Oh, it was way 2015. Yeah, 20, maybe 2014. That sounds Close. No, I'm gonna say it was 2014 because, that's when the streak ended, and it was that that was the summer after that.
Speaker 1:Yep, we're sitting here also while we're doing this podcast and we got football on in the background. Some preseason football, somebody just why left.
Speaker 3:I'm so happy that was acknowledged because I had to hold in laughter seeing that, because I was like I'm not gonna bring it up, I'll talk about a post show. It got booted. That was rough.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it looked like I was kicking one. Well, while she's looking that up, we'll move on to the next match. Women's World champion or not?
Speaker 2:women's world Women's what are they called? Thanks, championship, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know why that should just be the universal champion. They should just do women's universal. Probably keep it all the same. But anyway, you got Oscar, bianca Belair and the, the goat's daughter, charlotte.
Speaker 3:Flair, I thought you're about to call her the goat and I was like, oh I don't know. What's 24? I thought so. Okay, I was like the year the streak ended, but I mean the triple threat was good I don't really have much complaints about. I didn't like Bianca winning, but I guess you don't want Oscar to take the pin and you don't want Charlotte to take the pin, so she wasn't on some add-ons and I do, so I don't.
Speaker 1:Well, I don't, I don't know, I I don't have problem with the match. The finish obviously not crazy about, because I I just Not needing another Bianca run.
Speaker 3:Who did she? Who did she pin Oscar?
Speaker 1:she been Oscar. But Oscar, yeah, but I was happy Because she didn't leave with the belt.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:She did win, but she didn't leave with the belt because we had a cash in which I predicted, you did all that, one coming. You did, you did so he oh, cashed in and about the end.
Speaker 3:But what I didn't see Happening was the confirmation of Kyrie Sane coming back during SummerSlam. I think that is awesome, big Kyrie.
Speaker 1:Do you think they'll team her up with them or do you think she's gonna be an adversary to them?
Speaker 3:I think she goes against them. Kyrie Sane's big baby face yeah, big baby face energy I Think. I think I may have said it while we're watching SummerSlam, but I think we get Kyrie Sane Oscar. You know sky, I don't know where you do it, but big Stardom triple threat.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they could do it. They could. It may be like if they do one of the overseas events, or yeah, or just like a special I. That's why I hate that they're not doing a more special than that the network. We were getting you know random every once in a while network specials. But since they're on peacock Getting that, what do you think of the women's triple threat?
Speaker 2:It was born, and all honesty not playing Did, beyond her, actually injure her knee, cuz that was loud.
Speaker 3:Think it was just good cell job.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, I think she's like as much as I'm not a Bianca person Like.
Speaker 3:She's not bad, it's just it doesn't work for me. I guess I don't, oh no. It's definitely an all for me, dog yeah.
Speaker 1:That's how I feel about it. Definitely a no for me. Dog. All right, the judgment days. Finn Balor taking on Seth freakin Rollins or Seth Franklin Rollins.
Speaker 3:So give me, give me a second to collect my thoughts on this one. Do you still have to go first? Because I think I have a lot to say about this. I'm not.
Speaker 2:I was pretty disappointed that friend and when yeah. And it was a majority of this match that I was missing, because I would have put your watermelon as I'm Is it.
Speaker 1:Are you upset that Finn didn't win because you're not a Seth Rollins fan or because you're a judgment day fan?
Speaker 2:Oh, no, I'm a fan of both. It's just it's been seven years and he went against the guy that injured him, yeah, and I saw like I thought I called it that he was going to injure Seth the same way. He got injured and he was pretty close.
Speaker 1:Well, I I don't know, I have mixed feelings on it. I'm fine with with Seth winning. I wanted Finn to win but I really wanted to see the turmoil of Finn winning and Damian cashing in. That's really what I wanted to see. I mean, if I had, if I got the book and I had the pen and I could do what I wanted. I did somehow got that briefcase to Dominic Be like everybody down, dominic picks it up, catches it in. Dominic leaving as the WWE world champion would have been great.
Speaker 3:If the fans reacted the way they did to him, winning the North American title imagine him being a world champion. Cause.
Speaker 1:I'll just say it now I'm here for belt collector Dom. Oh my God, if this man could just start collecting goals draped he should be.
Speaker 3:At this point, though, I don't want to collect any big titles, just go collect all the like miniscule titles. Bring back the 24, seven and the hardcore haven't went on both. He could be the European champion.
Speaker 3:European champion yes, but I, like James, put it good there. This was baller's redemption story and the entire thing was built on the seven years, even had the seven on the, the torn rotator cuff. There Everything was. He walks out as champion. You could have had priest cash in, that would have been fine, but baller needed that. When he didn't get it, I don't know what to do with them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't, I don't either. I mean, you could have even done. If you were going to do like that where Seth wins, you could have had Damian do something and cash in and he leaves with the title, and then you can have the beef with him and then after that. But evidently they've got other plans. I don't know, I. I just I'll say this I hope that the plan is not consolation, cody, they keep almost doing it and then they always have something. I think they're just trying to use that as a red herring to make people think that Cody and Seth's going to happen, when it's still in reality going to be Cody and Roman.
Speaker 3:But I can't remember on raw, did they set anything up for Cody, like do we know what's next?
Speaker 1:Cause the the whole knock a more return.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and that's. That's Rollins next program. So.
Speaker 1:Cody, unless he's going to maybe go help Sammy, but Sammy's hurt now too.
Speaker 3:Do you see he's got that scene of thing.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I would imagine we'll get an announcement pretty quick on the titles being vacated.
Speaker 3:That's. That'd be such a crappy way for that to go out. Do you just go ahead and do Cody judgment day.
Speaker 1:I mean, could you, could I mean surely they wouldn't do the Damian put in the briefcase on the line against Cody.
Speaker 3:No, right. No, I don't, I don't see them doing that.
Speaker 1:No, cause Cody, don't need it either.
Speaker 3:For some reason I feel like we already got Cody baller. Was that on like a raw or something? Do I feel?
Speaker 1:like I remember that match happening, like I've seen that.
Speaker 3:I felt like when it was happening, it had to have been on a weekly guy. I feel like when it was happening, I was like this is too big to be happening on raw.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah. So I don't know. I mean, but Cody would have to. If it's Cody in the judgment day, who's going to come back him up? Cause Sammy and KO are both hurt and those are his, those are his guys.
Speaker 3:It's like he's only friends. Yeah, was it in the world title tournament? Hmm, was it the opening round?
Speaker 1:Yeah, maybe the debris ad and then the Brock come out.
Speaker 3:I think so.
Speaker 1:I think that's what it was. Yeah, that sounds right, but I don't. I don't know. I don't know what they're going to do.
Speaker 3:Oh, my Seth beat Rollins in that tournament. All right, no, what's that's be wrong? Wow, seth beat baller in that tournament too. So it's has been beating baller for the past couple of months now.
Speaker 1:Yeah they're. He needs something. I don't know, I don't know what to say, but it's just Cody Kodak gunther I would.
Speaker 3:I mean I would, like to see them fight, but I don't.
Speaker 1:I think that's something you wait on, Like that is, you can build a big, big, big field around the title.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the big corn heel Bray would have been a solid option for a multi month program, but everything I've been seeing is he's having some illness that's affecting personal and career see a long run with Bray Wyatt again.
Speaker 1:I don't, I don't think so it sucks.
Speaker 3:I love Bray.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I do too. I do too. Well, the big boy, the main event, I, I loved it. The tribal beef.
Speaker 3:I, I loved it. I. I might have a little bit of mixed feelings after smackdown tonight. I don't know if I really liked Jimmy's reasoning, but I liked J throughout it all. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:The it was. It was beautifully done. I think in the back of your mind you had to have known there was a chance that Jimmy was going to come and turn. Yeah, but I could swear along the way. I thought they said there was going to be no no interference, no interference.
Speaker 3:They did say that. They did say this is going to be settled with Roman and J.
Speaker 1:Yeah. So I and I, I think I would have liked if it was just like solo didn't come out, paul didn't come out, nothing, it's just those two. And then maybe you do something at the end where somebody runs in if you got to. But I think that should have at least put on the presentation that it was going to be those two and nobody else. I almost wouldn't have minded if they would have, cause you know they had that great hell in the cell match.
Speaker 3:They could have revisited that and that was good, I could have done that. That was that hell in the cell. I quit combination that. I was like, oh, I'm down for it. I've made that match in like two K before let's go again.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that would be good. What do you think of the the bloodline saga Ghost?
Speaker 2:I thought it was good. And then I, my partner, said I have Mitch feelings about the interference and mainly because Jay had the upper hand and then solo came out.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they. They made Jay look super strong, Well.
Speaker 3:Jay's looked great in this entire thing. Yeah, he's. He stood tall and smack down tonight.
Speaker 1:Yeah he's, he's looking like a star. I don't know where they're going with this, with this whole deuces. I'm out. I'm out of the bloodline.
Speaker 3:I thought for a second, cause he said he was off smack down. I was like, oh, he's going to go to Raw. I was like, maybe you do, jay Rollins, and I think that'd be a good match. But then he's like I'm out of WWE and I was like, well, shit, that's still part of the.
Speaker 2:AW.
Speaker 1:Yep, don't send me. It's going to be the V trigger versus the super kick.
Speaker 3:You know Kenny does have to announce his a Wembley match dynamite.
Speaker 1:That big mate of it Jey Uso.
Speaker 3:Oh, you know, people would be down for it.

Speaker 3:That'd also be good too, jey Uso, anybody's going to be good.
Speaker 1:You know, CM Punk could probably bury him on the mic. Oh yeah.
Speaker 3:It wouldn't be very good for Jay then, but Jay's a good promo.
Speaker 1:It's just, punk is just good at you know, see, I'm going to hit him with that. Which one are you? Yeah, you know it would. Or he just pray, it's Jimmy Uso, y'all.
Speaker 3:That almost that'd be more of an MJF line.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh, mjf, the stuff he's been doing to poor Roddy Strong. Very annoying it is not good, not good at all. So on the, let's everybody give a rating for SummerSlam overall. Let's do a school grade scale. So from F to A, what grade do you give the whole thing?
Speaker 2:A B minus.
Speaker 1:B minus.
Speaker 3:That's. I was going to give it just straight B. That's good solid.
Speaker 1:I'll give it a B plus, because I mean Carve the entire B scale yeah. Less matches, but I think I had good pacing and heard somebody else say something that I do agree with. For as long as the pay for you was, it felt like it went by relatively quick. It didn't drag on like some of the other ones, so I I enjoyed it. I thought it was good. I, I think, a couple of minor tweaks. It had to be an A, yeah.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I could see it.
Speaker 2:Like, if you sorry.
Speaker 3:Oh good, no bones.
Speaker 2:Well, if you didn't take Becky off of the face card and still crazy that would have brought it up to a list A for me.
Speaker 1:Is one of them hurt.

Speaker 3:They're having their match on raw this week Right.
Speaker 1:Yeah. So I don't know If they, if one of them was, it was anything serious, but that's.
Speaker 3:Like I'm pretty sure I said it last week, but I just don't see how you didn't have Ria on the show with this popular she is right now. Couldn't even you could have just gave her like a five minute squash like somebody to beat real quick? Who is she even really?
Speaker 1:feuding with her no one. She's Dom's backup right now.
Speaker 3:And she's your women's world champion and she is the kind of heater for Dominic Mysterio, yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm just that part's fine. I'm perfectly fine with that. I've loved that gimmick. Yeah, that works, but but that's just crazy. Yeah, she needs to be competing.
Speaker 3:Like they had that set up, with everybody attacking her on raw so a multi woman match coming probably.
Speaker 1:What's the next pay review? Is it payback? Yeah, payback, that'll be.

Speaker 3:I still can't believe they're doing back to back like that.
Speaker 1:I know, I feel like that's hopefully next year they adjust the schedule to fix that Cause I don't, I don't, I don't like that.
Speaker 3:It's just pricey, I don't. We haven't even discussed how we're going to handle it yet. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1:I don't know if we're going to go to the theater, if we're just going to buy it here and watch it. The theater is a cool vibe.
Speaker 3:Like I love the environment. I'm going to be honest. I think it's so fun.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's. It's the next best thing to be in there.

Speaker 3:Watching in the theater is the closest thing to watching with like a group of buddies or something, despite the fact you don't talk to any of the other people, and that's your, one of those style people. That's not me or any of us really, but you know we could do.
