Rainy Day Recess Trailer

[00:00:02] Jasmine Pulido: Welcome to the Seattle Hall...

[00:00:04] Christie Robertson: Jasmine, remember we aren't doing that anymore.

[00:00:06] Jasmine Pulido: Oh, oh yeah.

[00:00:07] Christie Robertson: So, should we reveal to them our new intro and name?

[00:00:12] Jasmine Pulido: Okay, let's do it.

[00:00:13] Christie Robertson: Welcome to Rainy Day Recess Podcast, where we study and discuss Seattle Public Schools.

[00:00:27] Jasmine Pulido: Why Rainy Day Recess? Because when those grey Seattle skies keep you indoors, we hope you'll spend some time with us, diving into what's really happening in your school district.

[00:00:37] Christie Robertson: You might know me and Jasmine from Seattle Hall Pass, which sadly is no more.

[00:00:41] Jasmine Pulido: We're even sadder to say goodbye to our co-host, Jane Tunks Demel, who is a passionate and informed advocate for Seattle Public Schools. We can't wait to see what she does next.

[00:00:52] Christie Robertson: But we are moving on, and Jasmine and I hope to continue the work you've told us matters most.

[00:00:57] Jasmine Pulido: In our next chapter here at Rainy Day Recess, we'll make what's happening in the district accessible and understandable by those most impacted by its decisions.

[00:01:06] Christie Robertson: Our goal is to empower our listeners with information so that you can have a say in what affects you.

[00:01:14] Jasmine Pulido: We'll do a weekly review where Christie and I update you on what's going on in the district.

[00:01:19] Christie Robertson: We'll also highlight select meetings and events.

[00:01:22] Jasmine Pulido: We'll interview experts and folks on the ground.

[00:01:25] Christie Robertson: We'll be a platform that amplifies student, parent, and community member voices.

[00:01:30] Jasmine Pulido: Together, we'll ask questions, share insights, and figure it all out, one rainy Seattle day at a time.

[00:01:37] Christie Robertson: There's no need to change your feed. We're staying right here to make it easy for you.

[00:01:41] Jasmine Pulido: More info to come on our new website, logo, and new episodes coming very soon.

[00:01:46] Christie Robertson: So, grab a cup of coffee, stay cozy, and join us for Rainy Day Recess.

[00:01:52] Jasmine Pulido: Because understanding your school district starts here.
