What if I told you a defensive player has more touchdowns than most offensive weapons in the NFL? You'd probably think I was crazy, right? Well, that's exactly what's been happening with the Dallas Cowboys. This week, I'm raving about the team's remarkable performance, specifically highlighting their secret weapon, Bland. We also chat about Dak Prescott, who's finding a new level of comfort on the field, and Ceedee Lamb, the wide receiver helping to make Prescott's dream a reality.

Now, don't think we've forgotten about the rest of the league. San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Eagles all get their time in the spotlight as we dissect the highs and lows of their season so far. As a die-hard Cowboys fan, I might be just a touch biased, but I promise to give you my honest take on all these teams. We also take a look at the strategic moves other teams are making, notably the Eagles and Bears, and compare them to the Cowboys' surprising inactivity during the trade deadline.

To wrap things up, let's talk about Super Bowl contenders and predictions for Week 9. Where are the Cowboys on the Super Bowl radar? What's up with the Eagles taking the top spot? And what should we expect from the upcoming Titans versus Steelers game? If you're ready for a deep dive into all things NFL, I've got you covered. Join me as I share my excitement, frustrations, and predictions for the next week of action. It's going to be a wild ride!

Speaker 1:

It's your girl, lacey, and I'm back for another episode of Lacey's lineup and your girl has so much to talk about. Not only was it a big week of games, there was injuries, there was highs, there was lows, and we also had trade deadline upon us on Halloween night. Who were my winners and losers? I'm going to dive in on that a little bit later. So much to talk about. Don't know if I'm going to get it in all on this episode because literally so much to say, but let's just go right in and dive in.

Speaker 1:

Recap of week eight starts right now. How about them cowboys? What a dominating performance. Yes, the Rams came in. They're good. They got Cooper cut back. Stafford was injured.

Speaker 1:

I don't think that had to do. He did come out, but I think he would have tried to keep playing if it would have become a closer game. But the cowboys did not allow that to happen. My boys showed up, especially on the defensive side of things. Diggs who no, I'm joking, diggs would obviously benefit us a lot.

Speaker 1:

But Bland is the real deal. Bland, he was on the map last year. I got to meet him. I will say I got to meet him last year during the NFL draft and I went up to him when he was signing my autograph and I was like you're the reason we won so many games. And he is, and he's proven that. Not saying he's digs who, because if we had digs it would just make us even more dangerous. But Bland is good Fun fact for you guys. Bland has more touchdowns than Davante Smith, t Higgins, tyler Lockett, jaylin Waddle and Calvin Ridley. Can I add that all these guys play offense and Bland plays defense.

Speaker 1:

In this Rams game this past weekend he got his third pick six the season. That's insane. Not only is he getting the turnovers, reading the defenses or the quarterbacks really well, he is converting them into pick sixes. Could you argue that and say the quarterback just threw a terrible ball? Maybe, but it's happened three times. Bland is the man. I love me some.

Speaker 1:

Bland, keep doing your thing. You are really the driving force behind this defense right now and I think he's getting really outshadow with. You know Michael Parsons not taking anything away but the bigger names, and you know bringing in Gilly Gilmore. They're all talking about that and Bland is just surprising so many people. I saw what Bland was going to be able to do even last, even yeah, starting of last year and he has stepped up when digs went out and they're like we're looking at Bland to take his position. We're good guys, we are good. They are going to have to start respecting Bland more, possibly even move Bland to their best receiver. We'll see what Dan Quinn does with that. What a crazy fact, right? He has more touchdowns than offensive huge weapons in the NFL. Props to Bland If you're listening to this plan, keep rocking. You're doing a great job and you are the reason that this defense is really thriving. But on the offensive side, dak did a great job. He's using his feet, thank the Lord, right, like he is finally feeling more comfortable. He's moving out.

Speaker 1:

If you remember, in the start of this Cowboy Rams game, if it wasn't for that penalty, he got sacked. I think the first three plays of the game and as Cowboys fans, your hearts dropped. You're like, oh my gosh, are we going to have this type of game again? Like this is a must win. After that we got that big. I think it was defensive holding or pass interference and we were able to convert it to a first down and then he just never looked back from there. 25 for 31, 304 yards, four touchdowns. He did have one interception which I did think was a bad, because it was in our end zone and kept us from getting points on the board which kind of made the momentum switch, but then we were able to capitalize on it on the back end.

Speaker 1:

So he still needs to be smart. Red zone is still a factor for the Cowboys and we have to take care of the ball. So Dak really needs to make sure that he isn't trying to squeeze it in. Create better plays, create the one on ones, stop trying to force, especially in the middle of the field where all the defenders are. I mean, you're just asking for a turnover, but I'm not docking my boy, dak. The commentators on all the sports networks right now need to stop. They need, like even Dak having an amazing game, the parties which we'll get into later, and even Jalen hurts like he is outperforming them, and yet they still make it about Dak and still put that pressure on them.

Speaker 1:

Dak does deserve, when he plays a bad game, to own up to it, and I think he does for the most part. I mean, I think he makes excuses sometimes, but when he goes out and performs, you need to give the boy some love. So, dak, I'm with you. Keep doing what you're doing, keep moving out of the pocket, keep being mobile, keep allowing your defender or your offensive weapons time to get open, and that's our winning combination. So, dak, great job. Thank you.

Speaker 1:

You are bringing CD back, if you've noticed. Once you get CD involved and you have to get him involved early, early you can't let him kind of get frustrated and feel like he's not part of the game. He gets not only to CD make an unbelievable catches, but he gets yards after the catch. Thank you, not a lot of wide receivers do that. There are some not saying, but he is so good with that. Those are the type where you can throw it a little short of the third down and CD's gonna get you a first down. He's just so good with that. And when he's filling it, he just becomes this unbelievable player and that's like Dak's dream. Right, I have a guy that I can rely on. He's hot. Let me find him. And the way you do that is by involving him early. That is the key to our big matchup this week. Cd has to be a factor. He has to be a factor, but he was against the Rams 12 receptions, 158 yards, two touchdowns. Every time CD scores I'm like CD.

Speaker 1:

I almost lost my voice because I was able to say it so much on Sunday. For a cowboy fan, it was a must see a relaxing game. It was exciting game. I mean it's always nice in the fourth quarter when you can get your starters out of the game and give them rest. I know we play Cooper Rush after he's our backup and Cooper Rush assigned. But are you guys like me? I want to see Trey Lance. I just wanna see him. I wanna see what he does. I can't even remember now what he does because he hasn't played in so long, unless they wanna invite me to their practices so I can just see him throw some balls. Those are just the opportunities where I'm like, hey, let's just see him. I know they're going with the Cooper Rush, but we know Cooper, we know what he can do, but I kinda wanna see if he's kind of a spark. Is he more mobile? You know Cooper Rush isn't gonna go, but that's my only thing there. Come on, show us Trey Lance. You traded for him. Tell us about him. Tell us why, please, cause, like I'm about to mention in a minute, it wasn't to try to make a trade with somebody, because the Cowboys were non-existent with that. But anyways, overall, cowboys dominating force. This is the hot and cold of Cowboys. They were definitely hot on Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Coming up, though, this is another wet people like to say measuring stick for us. Our first one was with the 49ers and we know what that disaster was about, right, but they have the Eagles. This is their chance. The 49ers dropped yet another game this week, so they now have a worse record than the Cowboys and the only one that's better than us is the Eagles, and we can control that destiny. We face them twice, so if we beat them twice, we take that not only get the better record, giving them more losses than us, but we have the head to head to them.

Speaker 1:

This is it, guys, like you have, we have to go to Philly, which is a hostile environment, but you have to play better. We cannot start digging a hole. We cannot be a non-factor. Eagles should not be scary to us. For the reason that we played them so much, we should know each other inside and out. But we have to show up. Please, please, let us win this big game.

Speaker 1:

Stop, like the Stephen A's of the world you know, telling us that we don't show up for these games. So far we've just been proving them right and I'm so ready to start proving them wrong. Show that we're contenders, show that we can go out and get this. We have the weapons to do it. We just have to do good play calls, take care of the ball and let our defense show up and add that pressure to the Eagles, because all the reports that I'm seeing is Jalen Hertz knee is really bothering him. Now, that could be them trying to, you know, upplay it a little bit, make it seem more dramatic. I mean, you do notice.

Speaker 1:

What is Jalen Hertz good at, like what makes him stand out? I mean, yes, he's a great passer, yes, he makes plays, but how does he make most of his plays? By his feet. He runs a lot. He is a mobile quarterback. Have you guys seen him run very much in these past couple of games? No, is that because of his knee? Maybe. If that is the case and he is not a factor with his legs, cowboys must take advantage of that.

Speaker 1:

If we contain the run and we have to shut down, I think the goal is to shut down. Aj Brown, devonte Smith is still a great player, but can he win us the game? Possibly, but our focus needs to be we need to try to make him win it, not saying get wide open or stuff. But AJ Brown is a lot scarier in those moments. So we need to make sure that we are containing their weapons and the way to do that is to apply pressure to Jalen Hertz early.

Speaker 1:

Come on, lyon, this is your week, micah, you gotta get there. He's been given so much praise to the Eagles and their defense, calling them the best defense out there. Now I'm really hoping that's a tactic and he's gonna come in and be like oh I did think that, but I came through your line pretty easy. That would make things a lot better. We gotta apply the pressure. Everybody go at him. He can't run out of it If it is a knee injury that's bothering him and that's how we're gonna do it. Get to the quarterback quick. It's gonna be a matchup. Would I say it's a must win? No, I think it's a must win for the Cowboys confidence to show that they can get over that hurdle of beating teams with winning records, especially Super Bowl contender type teams, and we didn't show up for the first one. So here's your second chance, cowboys. Come on, you got the game of the week. Eagles risk the Cowboys in Philly. Let's make this a good game and bring home that win.

Speaker 1:

On another note, though, guys, what is happening in San Francisco? The party is exposed. It would have been smarter for him to stay in concussion protocol this week. He is writing the struggle bus for real Again. I am literally. I can't stress this enough, but it is showing that pretty. He's exposed. He's not mr Irrelevant when he doesn't have 12 seconds to throw the ball Right with the offensive line giving him an eternity for his weapons. Debo, I you Kettle. You know McCaffrey to get open. He's down some players right now. He's out Trent Williams, debo's out. He's feeling the pressure a lot more. He doesn't have his slant with Debo going. Mccaffrey still, I don't think a hundred percent, but mr Irrelevant is becoming mr Unreliable. He is getting exposed left and right, and it is showing why he wasn't taking higher in the draft.

Speaker 1:

Now, I'm not trying to hate on Purdy, I'm really not, but it was just they put him on this high pedestal. But who wouldn't be on that pedestal with the people you had around them? It was always gonna be about the injuries and if these people could stay healthy. Tell me a team that could beat a healthy 49ers With everything that they have. I think I've talked in my last podcast about how they get these miraculous trades and these people to come for like dirt cheap. I don't understand it, but they keep doing it. So now you have a team with Trent Williams, debo Samuels, brandon I, you, christian McCaffrey and then, on the defensive side, nick Bosa. You know, and I'll talk about it a little bit, but they just got another big steal and the before the trade deadline. But yeah, that's a huge factor. I mean, you shut down one. There's three more coming at you, but now they had a lot taken out and they're just being exposed Uncharted territories right now. They don't understand. They haven't lost three in a row in a really long time and they're freaking out a little bit now. Are they out? No, they're gonna get healthy. I mean, the best thing to come in the past three weeks is they are on a buy this week. I bet you they got everybody in the medical tents and spa areas just trying to, you know, get everybody healthy and just take that time. But they're gonna be fine right now.

Speaker 1:

I'm pretty is not pretty. Right now, pretty ugly, is really what it is, and you can see it on his face. Used to see like the stone cold Look on his face and, like you know, mr Irrelevant. But now he's got sheer panic. He's got a little bit of what I call like the Dak Prescott deer in the headlight. Look, he's not understanding why he's getting hit, because he hadn't got hit in very much. He's showing that he is exposed and NFL is a copycat league and they are all looking at this and showing this is how you beat the 49ers, which is good to see for a Cowboys fan. Now will they execute that? Because they definitely didn't when we played them in week five.

Speaker 1:

But are the 49ers? I Laugh so hard, guys. They are calling them the 17ers. Is the hilarious they are.

Speaker 1:

Week six Browns 19 49ers 17. Week seven Vikings 22 49ers 17. Week eight Bengals 31 49ers 17 Hilarious. I guess what's wrong with them right now is 17. Not a lucky number for them, but how crazy. Their last three games they've only they've scored 17. So I Literally laughed so hard when they said they're not the 49ers, they're the 17ers.

Speaker 1:

Like so funny on top of the Kittle memes which you know, his shirt when he wore said the bad things about Dallas on it after they beat us. That's bad karma, george Kittle. You do something like that and see, now you gave your team the next three losses. Not that it was his fault, but he put bad karma in the air and the memes of his shirt. Now, like with the losses, and the Browns beat you and man, they're having a heyday with that. As a Cowboys fan, I'm here for it. I like seeing it. It makes me happy. 49ers, aka 17ers, you better find a way to get your name back and start playing the way you should. Let's see after this bye week this week and then get their injuries under control and get some of these guys back into the game.

Speaker 1:

On the flip side of this game, though, joe cool is not cool. He is hot. The bingles hot streak has begun. Starting off slow is what the bingles do. I told you guys this. Everyone was like oh no, like I was. I was worried about his injury. That's something we hadn't seen before and it looked like it was nagging and it was affecting a lot of things and I wasn't sure if he was able to bounce back. But he drinks some kind of magic juice between the weeks and it doesn't even look like it's a factor anymore, like I don't know how he just went from limping to being a hundred percent again. But he is. And now watch, this is the run. They are about to go on. They are about to just dominate the AFC. Injuries not there anymore.

Speaker 1:

Joe cool was never worried and now they're on the ride, I think, to another AFC championship. I Mean he was 28 for 32, 283 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, hashtag winning, like those are AFC Championship numbers right there. And he is doing it just his so cool way. Mr Joe just chilled out. You know his smoking, his cigars, like he's not. He was never worried. He was never worried about digging a hole in the beginning, because this is where they come alive and they start taking names, doing major damage.

Speaker 1:

And here's my prediction, guys. I'm saying it now, week eight after week eight, this prediction, and I'm gonna come back to this if I'm right, because I Predict that the AFC championship will be the bingles and the Ravens. You guys watch, you guys watch. Unless something crazy happens which I'm not even gonna put that in the atmosphere right now Something terribly wrong, like a major injury, something like that would have to happen. But the way the AFC is looking now. Yes, you have the dolphins, you have the bills, you have the chiefs, but they're not doing what the Ravens and bingles are doing, and I think the bingles are still better than the Ravens and I think they will take that over, but I think it'll be the bingles and the Ravens in the AFC championship. Try to argue with me. You guys can't. I'm right. I am right. There is nobody that can touch these teams. And now the Bengals are the most dangerous team in the AFC as of now, maybe even the NFL. But right now, bengals Joe Cool, jamar Chase Higgins, boyd Mixon they got it all. They are about to charge and charge the AFC, and it's not even going to be close games.

Speaker 1:

Now I guess I need to talk about this trade deadline. Guys, I'm frustrated. I am so beyond frustrated, with the Cowboys literally being non-existent in this trade. Have they not learned anything? You have people going after Philly, went after and got three big names to beef up their defense 49ers they got a huge and Chase Young to beef up to help Nick Bosa, and then you get an interview from Jerry Jones with Jerry Jones. Stop doing interviews Like you just need. I know you're not going to stay out of it, but you need to.

Speaker 1:

This is an argument every time. I mean, your fans are literally screaming at you that you need to get into the play. You cannot win. I can't even remember a last Super Bowl champion that did not make a trade in the season and just went with their drafted players and won the whole thing. If it happened, it's been a long, long time ago. It's not happening. You have to evolve with the game and you have to make trades. You have to.

Speaker 1:

We were linked to so many and, as it comes out, we didn't call any of them. None of them. How do you not go get Derek Henry Now? I won't even say I know half of it has to be. Tennessee allows for the trade to happen, but they did not even receive a phone call from the Dallas Cowboys we. He would have been a game changer that would have literally taken us up. Pollard loved the guy, but he is not that one that we get that third and one on, especially with the play calling. We have Pollard going up the middle trying to physically go through big linemen. It's not happening.

Speaker 1:

You needed, you got rid of Zeke. You needed a Zeke like player and Derek Henry wouldn't have helped us. You've got to be kidding me right now. Derek Henry would have been the final piece to our puzzle, I mean, or even a Dalvin Cook, like entertain that. But we were linked to Devonte Adams, we were even linked to Aaron Donald and we didn't call anybody.

Speaker 1:

Nope, cowboys just sat there and was like we're good with the people we have and I had a feeling I always knew, because Cowboys are non existent in trades, like they just don't like doing it. I will never figure out this answer. If you guys know the answer to why this, why they never are in the trades, I have no idea. But I knew when we had the blowout win against the Rams that that was going to make it even harder for him to make a move, because he's like look how we're playing. We can beat teams with the personnel we have. That is not how we win. Like they are my losers for the trades for sure. Good with the guys we have so terrible. Go get Derek Henry, go get Dalvin Cook Shoot, go get anybody. Just show me that you're involved in the trade and you know what's going on in the world. But you have the Eagles, you know, beefing up their defense and getting these. I mean they're in a win now. And that's what's crazy is the Cowboys talk about now's our time. Like everything we do is now.

Speaker 1:

Jerry Johns is like I'm not getting any younger, like I want to see another Super Bowl in my lifetime. What are you doing to do it? You're not doing anything. You are literally sitting there letting all the people that you have to beat go get stronger while you're like, oh, I'm happy with the guys we have I'm sorry I said that three times, but that just haunts me like, no, we have great guys, but make us better. Like we still have weaknesses. Go, make our weaknesses strengths.

Speaker 1:

And how you do that is by the trade. Like, why do you even why did you even get trey Lance? I mean, he is somebody we had Kirk cousins go down. You know you have struggling people that need quarterbacks right now. Offer up a trade for him, especially if you're not even going to use him. And I'm sorry, you have Michael Gallop. Michael Gallop has not been for us what he used to be and now, with Brandon Cook's kind of catching fire, he's somebody you can offer up for a trade. He would be an asset for another team where that's their weaknesses and we can trade to both get strengths.

Speaker 1:

It is like, why have them? Why have all these guys? And I heard this thing. I was like, oh, he'll never get rid of Gallop because he recruited him and he doesn't get rid of anybody. That you know he keeps. And that's just not the winning mentality. Like, stop doing that, cowboys. Do you guys agree? Even if you're not a Cowboys fan, you have to think that this is absurd, that we do nothing during these trades and do nothing to get better and we're just going to rely on our team and make excuses when we don't do it. Well, this falls on the organization at the Dallas Cowboys and I love them, I love everybody, I respect them, what they do for the community. This is your job. Your job is to make a team that can win a Super Bowl and when you have people, you can trade and you have people, you can go get and do a Swaperoo, do it. It literally drives me insane.

Speaker 1:

We just sat here and I think the media loves to just talk oh, cowboys have been linked to this, or Cowboys this, this, this. No, we didn't pick up the phone at all. We were probably watching the World Series at home which no offense to the Rangers, I hope they do win. But we're just sitting there doing nothing and we're like, oh, we're fine, I trust the guys. Of course you have to trust the guys because you're not going and getting any other guys, so now you just have to ride with what you have. I need to take a deep breath. Guys Like that was a lot Like that. That really does get me fired up. When we don't do things to go win a Super Bowl, give us the best shot to go win and you're not doing it and that's just frustrating. I have to move on from it.

Speaker 1:

But they are definitely my one like the trade losers of the week, because they literally did nothing. But my other loser is the Bears on the flip side. What are they doing? You should be wanting to lose, wanting to lose Like you should be wanting to. You're already thinking about going into the draft next year, using all your ammunition and trying to build the Bears program back up.

Speaker 1:

But no, they go and get Montez Sweat for a second round pick. What are you doing? I don't understand it. Sweat ain't gonna stay there next year, I can tell you. I mean, he's gonna try probably really hard to get out of there. I doubt he even wanted to come there, but you guys traded him for a second round pick which potentially could be like a 34th overall or 34th pick overall to get a guy. I mean that's like a win. Now, that's what the Cowboys not him particularly, but that was the aggressiveness that the Cowboys should be taking. But you guys take it and give up your draft order for next year, for you guys ain't winning this year. You guys are already looking on to next year, like, let's be honest, you really are, but you're gonna make a win now.

Speaker 1:

Type trade Horrible, trade Horrible. Just when the Bears couldn't disappoint me or shock me anymore, they still somehow do it in the trade. Crazy trade. No, bears, no. Keep your picks and try to get a good draft next year and then see where you're at if you need to do a win now. Trade this year was not that year. I don't know what is happening up there in Chicago, but it's like Freaky Friday. The Cowboys and the Bears should change their mentalities. Bears are aggressive, cowboys are chilling. Should have been opposite, but they are both my losers in the trade for sure.

Speaker 1:

The winners there was some ones, you know you had the trade for Dobbs because Captain Kirk heartbreaking Like it makes me sad to even talk about the Vikings. I mean we talked about him being hot and cold, kirk Cousins, and he was finally striving, coming off that 49ers win and just dominating again and it seemed like he was really trying to play for his life, because there's been a lot of talks of him not returning out within Achilles' tear. Ugh, just devastating. I mean you gotta think not only will we see Kirk Cousins again, but there's a probably good chance that we will not even see him in Minnesota again. And for that to be his last time in a Vikings jersey, just it's heartbreaking. I wish him the best in his recovery and I just hope we do get to see him play again. If it's not at Minnesota, I do hope that he is valuable for another team. I think he's got a couple of years left in him.

Speaker 1:

But they traded for Dobbs. I mean Arizona did they got a third round draft picked, I believe, out of it. Josh Jobs has done decent in Arizona, but that's what they did See. They used Dobbs and now I think Kyler Murray coming back and they used him to get some ammunition for the draft next year. That's what I thought maybe the Cowboys were going to do with Trey Lance, but nope, we don't even see him. We don't talk about him anymore.

Speaker 1:

We were in the headlines for two days, maybe, but what do you guys think? Do you think Josh Dobbs is going to do good in the Vikings? The way that Addison was stepping up and the way that Jefferson was closer to return, and then you had Kirk Cousins playing at a high level again, vikings were on their way to be dangerous. And now they're without their captain. And I don't know Josh. I don't think he plays this week because he's got to have time to learn the playbook, but do we think that he will be able to keep the Vikings on this momentum streak up? I don't see it. I don't know. It'll be interesting, especially it'll be interesting to see as soon as Jefferson gets back, but I don't know.

Speaker 1:

So they got that trade and then I think the 49ers won with the Chase Young. I mean, that was not just a want, that was a need. You only had Bosa really getting all the stats, applying all the pressure, and now you've added a Chase Young which, oh my gosh. I'm sure when he got that call from the commanders he was like you're going on, the 49ers, aka 17ers, still love that, still love it. But he was probably like heck, yeah, like he probably bought this plane ticket before he even hung up from the phone. I mean that's just domination. And he got it for a third round. I mean just nothing. And now that just makes them even better.

Speaker 1:

Oh, shanahan, he's just a mastermind in this. I don't know what he deals under the table, but he gets amazing players to help his team for dirt cheap and that's why they win. Cowboys, take notes, take notes, do what he's doing. He is building a dynasty out there and he knows that he can't pay everybody next year and that this is the year to win, and so he's doing what it takes to do it, and the Cowboys should be doing the same thing. Like I just can't. I can't see, I can't get fired up about it again, so I have to keep moving on.

Speaker 1:

But my winners for this is the 49ers. I think they got the best out of all the trades for what they paid for it and who they're getting especially in a needed position. It wasn't somebody that was going to come in and not be a factor. I think Cheh-shung is going to come in and be a factor right away. But that was Halloween crazy trades, crazy games and to end it all which some say would be the Halloween game with the Raiders and the Lions what is happening? They fire McDaniels and the GM, dave Ziggler, which should have happened a long time ago.

Speaker 1:

But now you've created even more chaos to a very frustrated team. If I'm I mean the Vonte Adams is starting to show up more if you listen to his I played a snippet of it last week's episode but he was trying to be like he's a class act. He's trying not to do Las Vegas Raiders. That's why he came there, was his team also to play with Derek Carr, which that was a disaster, with him leaving. But he still loves the team, he loves the organization, he's proud to be a Raiders, but he's frustrated. I mean Groppolo missed him wide open, wide open. Like it's different if you can't get him the ball but to overthrow a wide open, frustrated Davante Adams, jimmy G, come on, like, if you're going to overthrow or not find one player, don't let it be Davante Adams. But if I'm Davante Adams and I'm Max Crosby and I'm even Josh Jacobs, like they're probably in like a huddle right now, like what are we going to do? Like we're not having fun, like should we just go to Vegas and, you know, do the slot machines and they're all great, though I mean you still see them, they're playing. But the frustration is growing.

Speaker 1:

And now you fired a head coach. They haven't renamed who it's going to be yet. I think they need to slow down. Don't go out and signed just any coach. I think it needs to be an interim coach to the remainder of the season and then really take time to bring in a quality coach that's going to turn this around and try to keep Davante Adams. I mean there's going to have to be a lot in the offseason with them To make it to be where they want to play with them anymore, or they're going to start asking out if they haven't already.

Speaker 1:

But that was the only firing, first firing of the season. So we'll see if that helps, hurts, frustrates more. I mean the Raiders, it's, it's a mess, hot mess up there. So we'll see what comes of that and see who they have to lead that charge for the remainder of the season. So I mean there was so much to talk about, like literally I could keep going, going, going, going, but I mean, I think I'm going to leave it there.

Speaker 1:

You guys got me very passionate about the trades and what the Cowboys didn't do, and I think I'm nervous about the cowboy and Eagle matchup this week, so I'm going to move on to the best of the week. There is no question, no question. You guys should know, if you've listened to the podcast this far, that the best of the week is Joe cool and those Cincinnati Bengals. Like I said, bengals are dominant and will continue to be the most dangerous team, not only in the AFC, but I think they just put the whole NFL on notice. They are Literally peeking at the right time. They know what they're doing. They're fine being out of the spotlight for starting a slow start, but anyone that knows football knows this is what they do and they always are there at the end Come, you know, competing for the Super Bowl title. If they're going to be there, they are going to be there, and this is just the beginning. I have a feeling they're going to be my best for the weeks to come, but definitely this past week they are my best. Cincinnati Bengals, joe cool, jamar Chase, higgins Boyd, you name it. Oh my gosh, they're becoming deadly, but they had an amazing performance, so they get my best of the week.

Speaker 1:

Worst of the week. There might have been a lot of worst, a lot of worst, but chiefs Blown out in Denver Shocked is all I can say. I mean, you don't have no Taylor Swift. You have Travis Kelsey in trouble for shaking it off at the World Series, which I think is hilarious. Sorry, I just have to say like, let the man live. They're like oh, he was out on a Friday and he played in a way game on Sunday like he was home. You don't think people go out on a Friday like he was there. He was probably still home on a decent hour. The flight from Dallas to Kansas City is literally like an hour and you know he is not on. He's not waiting for a commercial flight to go home, he's on a private plane that probably left as soon as the game was over. He was probably still in bed before midnight in his home in Kansas City, but he was there, my home's, playing with the flu. Those are all excuses. You guys are defending champions and you get blown out to a bad Denver Broncos team. All I can say is do better. You are my worst of the week and now, after week eight, my top five Super Bowl contenders.

Speaker 1:

As of now, the list is fluid. I do take that from Stephen A because it is. It's fluid every week based on performances. You think one team can't be stopped and they are, so it will continue to be fluid. But top five, my number five, how about them? Cowboys? I put them back in dominating Force. If they can play like that, I feel like they can beat anybody. You know with the people on our team, but they are good. We didn't do anything to get better during the trade deadline, so we'll see if that will affect us. But the Cowboys dominated, dominated, and that's what they've done. Every team are most their wins, except for the Chargers. That was close. It's been lopsided. So they have what it takes to get to the Super Bowl, but they have to keep it going and consistency is their biggest thing. But with that dominating force hitting on all cylinders, defense, performing offense was great, multiple people involved and just literally took this game over. The Cowboys make my number five.

Speaker 1:

Now I will say, before I go to four quiet comings, I think, people that are Not talked about but are slowly making strides up or you can't count out the New Orleans Saints Vikings were there until captain Kirk fell, so I'm not sure I can put him there. And I think Seahawks Seahawks are like quietly Winning and I think they're gonna surprise a lot of teams. So they're my quiet comings but haven't quite made my top five. Number four Dolphins dolphins are still rolling. I think their defense is my biggest question mark. They did get Jalen Ramsey back and he came in. I believe he got Interception in that game. If they can get him rolling and they can start getting stops and not just relying their offense to put up 80 points a game. I know I'm being dramatic, but you can't rely all on your offense to get to a Super Bowl. So if they can get pieces of their defense together and keep their offense of rolling, they're winning right now and so they're gonna make my top four.

Speaker 1:

Three Baltimore Ravens I said it last week and I sound like a parrot, but Lamar Jackson is learning how to throw. He already knew how to run and that Edwards he's just he's becoming a huge threat in the run game for them. So all, all of it's coming together for the Ravens and I think that they're gonna make a run for the Super Bowl. Like I said earlier, my predictions Bingles and Ravens in the AFC championship. So right now they are definitely a contender Right above them because I think they're gonna beat the Ravens in the AFC championship. Is the bingles Silent, silent, coming back rolling just like they are. They know what they're doing, they know how to get places, stats are improving, bigger wind margins. I mean, they are just coming right along and they're doing it at the right time. So the bingles are definitely taking my number two spot and number one.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I hate saying it, I really really do, but I got to give it to the Eagles. They have the best record and the NFL right now, with the other teams losing this past week, and they're just a dominating force. They used the trade Deadline and beefed up some of their weaknesses. I still don't think they're winning pretty, but they're winning. That's why they get my number one spot. They're winning and it's ugly. If they ever turn it into pretty, then that's when it can get very scary. But I really hope the Cowboys go in and knock them off and we can control our destiny as Dallas Cowboy players.

Speaker 1:

But right now I don't think we can argue that the Eagles should take that number one spot as the most likely team to make it back to the Super Bowl as of now, because it's fluid and I hope me saying that and giving them all this praise which not really praise. I can never praise the Eagles, but what they're doing is impressive and they're still finding ways to win, even with Maybe a hurt Jalen. They've had some injuries. What are these new guys going to do for them? But this is gonna be a big test. I think this is really gonna separate a lot if the Eagles can come out and dominate the Cowboys. So big measuring stick again this week, I think, for the Eagles and the Cowboys. Right now, eagles are my number one and that's Lacey's locks of her top five Super Bowl contenders after week eight. And Now it's time for my man Skyler's Predictions going into week nine. Skyler, take it away.

Speaker 2:

What up, guys, it's your boy man Skyler. Back on Lacey's line up for week nine predictions. First for the week nine there's an eye football Titans versus Steelers. I'm gonna have to go to Steelers by two.

Speaker 2:

On Sunday we got a full day of football with the first Munich Germany game of the year Chiefs versus dolphins. Gonna be a good game. I'm gonna go with the Chiefs by 10, right after Eagles Cowboys. The rivalry is the game of the year, so. But I'm definitely gonna have to go to Cowboys because that's my favorite team, but I'm gonna have to go with them by four. Seahawks versus Ravens I'm gonna go with the Ravens by three. And Then for our final two games of week nine First, sunday night football Bills versus Bengals. Bengals are looking like they're gonna win the Super Bowl this year, so I'm gonna have to go with the Bengals by seven. For our Monday night game the last game of week nine Chargers versus Jets. I'm gonna go with the Chargers by six. And that is week nine Predictions for you. I'll be back on Lacey's lineup next week for week 10 predictions Skyler out and that does it for this week's episode.

Speaker 1:

Thanks for tuning in. I look forward to seeing you guys next week. Until then, your girl is signing off you.
