Speaker 4:

Many agents are feeling the pinch from decreased revenue to heightened competition. The key here. is are you adaptable to the current conditions and have you made adjustments? So I want you to focus on your actions and not the outcomes. Because if you focus on the outcome and not the necessary steps, you'll be obsessed on why there's a gap versus what do I need to do to close that gap to make adjustments in my business? Welcome to the Raquel show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to play bigger in business and in life and I am so thrilled to have you join us today. This show is all about empowering you with insight, tools, and inspiration to elevate your entrepreneurial journey. Thank you so much for all your shares, your DMs, and being a part of our community. Thank you Today's episode is something extremely close to my heart because it comes directly from one of you who had a thoughtful question of how do you support your people, your team when you're overwhelmed. So I want to dive into this crucial topic and uncover strategies to manage, overwhelm, and lead with confidence. And if you ever have a topic in the future, know that you can always send a DM and I'll be happy to answer it on this podcast. So we all know that feeling overwhelmed is part of the journey, especially in times of rapid change or constant demands, but how we handle that overwhelm can define our success and our success. our well being. Let's break it down to the five most common situations that make us feel overwhelmed and explore actionable steps and strategies to manage them. Number one is your workload and time management. This is probably the most common source of overwhelm. You've got a never ending to do list and it feels like there's just not enough hours in the day. Ever experienced those days? Especially in real estate, we've got unexpected events that can throw off our schedule. And here's a tip. Start with a brain dump whenever you're overwhelmed. Write down everything that's on your mind. Prioritize your task and ask yourself, could somebody actually help me with any of these items? Or even if you asked yourself, Is there someone in my world today that can actually take 50% of the task? Because let me tell you, even if they can't complete the whole task, if they can complete 20%, 50%, or even get it to 80%, it gives you valuable minutes. Number two is the expectations and pressure of overwhelm. Sometimes we are our worst critics, placing so much pressure on ourselves. And other times it's the work environment that pushes us. to that edge. It is absolutely crucial to differentiate the two. So think about, am I imposing this pressure? Clarity will be your best friend. Be extremely clear about your expectations when you have these conversations. Be extremely clear on the pressure, the deadlines. And if it's too much, my recommendation is Do a pattern interrupt, take a break, go for a walk, go get some exercise, meditate, journal, whatever helps you reset. And for me, when I feel overwhelmed or I have a ton of pressure, I basically will take a walk in the sun with some favorite music and just get off social media, right? Because the next thing you can do is go on a rabbit hole when you're trying to take a break. Number three, why most people get overwhelmed today is economic or market conditions. I'm seeing this a lot this year, especially with the market conditions, people leaving the industry, people not making as many sales as they did last year. And if they're your current activities, like I said, aren't yielding the results, it might be time to pivot. And if it is and not quite getting there, it might be time to double down. You want to keep an eye on the trends and be ready to adjust and pivot. Number four is environments. And sometimes your culture can actually have people around you overwhelmed. Your environment and your culture plays a significant impact on your stress levels. A lack of support or a negative atmosphere can be overwhelming or burnout happens. I see this on a lot of teams where they put too much pressure in their work environment. They make everybody handle So many jobs that it gets people feeling stuck and there's high turnover. If you're feeling stuck at home because you work from home, or from the office, maybe it might be time to change your environment as far as your workplace. How about try working at a co working space or a coffee shop or somewhere different to just reset. Also, contribute to a positive culture whenever you can. Small changes can have such a big impact in your mental health. So if you're feeling day in and day out that your energy is low because you're overwhelmed and going into the office, Try changing something different or set intentions on I'm going to change my attitude today or I'm going to change the way I feel because I can control how I react. Sometimes it's putting those mini intentions or mini goals or setting the tone before you enter the building, before you enter your team environment. And number five, is communication issues. Most of the problems that when I see overwhelmed in an organization or on teams it starts with poor communication. Misunderstandings create chaos and increase workloads. If you're unclear or it's not effective, then it goes in a different direction. And we all know. Communication is key. So just make sure that the expectations, the deadlines, if you work on deadlines are crystal clear with everyone involved because this will reduce confusion and it allows for quicker execution. So when it comes to leading others while you're overwhelmed, start by identifying what is the root cause of my overwhelm or my stress. Then I want you to think about. brainstorming potential solutions. Sometimes when you're writing things down and you see it clear on a piece of paper, it is so much easier to evaluate it than it being in your head. And remember, as a leader, you have a responsibility to show up even on tough days. One of my guests recently said something so profound that I'll never forget it. When you sign up to lead, you sign up to lead Every day. When you sign up to own your own business, you sign up to lead every day. It's okay to have a bad day, but strive to not have two bad days in a row because great leaders find a way to persevere. So I want to thank you all for joining me on this quick episode. I hope you found these insights super helpful and empowering. Remember, feeling overwhelmed is part of the journey, but how you handle it defines our path. forward.
