in today's world, man, distractions are everywhere. From social media notifications, from text messages, from endless to do lists, from getting easily sidetracked. Focus is about directing your attention and energy towards what truly matters. What's truly going to move the needle in your business. It's about setting those clear priorities and eliminating distractions. So when you're focused, you can achieve more in less time. Welcome to the Raquel show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to play bigger in business and in life. And I just want to say thank you all for tuning in. I am just getting back from our family vacation. And have you all felt that you needed another vacation after a vacation? You see, it's been a while since our family has taken an extra vacation. actual vacation because of our hectic schedules. We took a last minute trip to Hawaii because I knew the kids were starting school very, very soon. And Bryce actually wanted to go there. I told myself, let's just make it happen because next year he'll be off to college and on our family vacation. It went by so fast. And for any of the parents that are listening out there, am I the only one that feels this way? It's not really a vacation because As a mom, your name gets called so many times. I saw this funny reel the other day of how much kids call mom for everything. It's mom here, mom there, mom I need this. It's a constant mom, mom, mom. What are we doing mom? Where are we eating mom? When are we golfing Mom? and when you get back from the so called vacation, you actually probably need a little bit more downtime to just recover. So today I want to dive into a topic of how focus and discipline matter so much in business, especially if you want to grow more than how you feel. How many times have you ever set a goal only to find your motivation lasted only for a few weeks, or even a few days? Or how many times have you been on vacation and you get back and it's so hard to get into the groove of things?, Well, we've all been there. The initial excitement fades and suddenly hitting the gym, sticking to a diet, working on a big project feels like a chore. It's so easy to fall into a trap of only working towards your goals when you feel like it. But the truth is, feelings are fleeting and they are unreliable guides. on our journey to success. And I'm going to say that one more time, because I think it'll hit home for some of you, is feelings are fleeting and they are unreliable guides on our journey to success. This is where discipline and focus Let's start with discipline. Discipline is about doing what needs to be done, even when you don't feel like it. Even when you're burnt out, even when you're tired, even when you haven't had enough sleep. It's about creating habits and routines that support your goals, regardless of how you feel, regardless of your emotional states. Think of it as a muscle that gets stronger with use. The more discipline you have, the easier it becomes to push through those tough times when motivation is low. And I've obviously seen it with my kids playing sports, but I also see it in teams and clients we coach. What gets others to keep going, to have sustainable growth versus the ones that have up and down, very high, very low months. It really is just discipline and focus. Some people may call it grit. They don't allow their feelings or emotions to get in the way of distracting them. It's so easy to give into your excuses. It's so easy to tell yourself, Oh my gosh, Raquel, I've had a bad month with sales and I'm just going to wait till the next month. Or I want to build my team later because I don't want to actively recruit. They don't really say it that way. They say, I think I'm going to build my team later in the year because I don't have things in place. And sometimes our excuses is I want to plan and get things right before I take action. Here's what I'll tell you. Just take the action and you'll learn along the way. It is why having a coach or a mastermind group is so key to pushing through some of these challenges because you've got to report because you got to be accountable to people. And there have been studies that agents or people with coaches succeed more in close to over 95 percent hit their goal when they have an accountability meeting or a partner or a person that they're committed to. And I see this with our clients. Matter of fact. Our private clients that do one on one coaching exceed far faster and greater than our ones in group coaching when it comes to their goals. It's because the focus on the business, and especially when you're meeting every other week or every week, you can figure out the different gaps so quickly that you start to pivot to get back on track. You see, coaches help you with discipline. and they get you to row in the right direction. Now, let's talk about focus, which is something that you need if you absolutely want to grow. And in today's world, man, distractions are everywhere. From social media notifications, from text messages, from endless to do lists, from getting easily sidetracked. Focus is about directing your attention and energy towards what truly matters. What's truly going to move the needle in your business. It's about setting those clear priorities and eliminating distractions. So when you're focused, you can achieve more in less time and quality of your work. You see, I love to use timers because if I am racing against the clock, and I always tell Alexa to put a timer on, if I am racing against the clock, I am way more focused. And when you're growing, it's so easy to get distracted, especially as an entrepreneur. Because it's so You make your own schedule. Sometimes you don't have to answer to anyone. And you sometimes think that you need all these different things or you find yourself comparing your business to somebody else's success that is much further along than you. And when we get distracted, It takes us further away from our goal. So having a coach or having your team does help you stay on track is gold in our industry. Matter of fact, I have team members today that when I get back from vacation, I'll want to know the download. I want to know what did I miss? What do I need to focus on? Because it takes a while for your brain to adjust in getting back into that routine. So I know you're probably all wondering, Raquel, how can we cultivate discipline Here are a few tips. I'll start with five of them. Number one is set clear goals. Know exactly what you want to achieve and break it down to manageable steps. Don't try to accomplish it all in one, like one big goal. Don't try to accomplish one big goal with unrealistic timelines. Chunk it down. Number two is create a routine. Start with a revenue routine. I know some people want to start with like a 5am. If your body, or if you're not energized in the morning, you're not a morning person, It's okay to have a midday routine and start midday and maybe work through the night. Some people, I know some people work best that way, right? But what I will tell you is start with a revenue routine. Find the things you need to do daily that are money making activities. Number three is eliminate distraction. Identify what pulls your attention away and find ways to minimize or eliminate these distractions. And number four is stay accountable. This is so huge for all the people that I see that are crushing this year's goal is they stay accountable. Share your goals with someone you trust and ask them to hold you accountable. Don't let that other person down. And number five, last but not least, is journal or reflect. I have a healthy practice about this. I journal at night and I just make it really, really simple. What were three big wins? I did for the day. Three things that I'm grateful for and three things that I'm looking forward to the next day. Remember, it's not about being perfect, especially when you're an entrepreneur. It's about being consistent. It's about showing up and putting the work, even when you don't feel like it. Because discipline and focus are the keys to accomplishing your goals. And when there is a gap, you can always look at your calendar or your activities and see where your minutes went. Today, my friends, I want you to ask yourself, where do I need more discipline? or Focus. We have just started a new month and what are the goals that you're going to be focused on in the month of August? If you had to set up a system that would not fail, What would it be? Sometimes that system could be hiring a coach or an accountability partner that can get you to your goals faster. I want to thank you all for tuning in to another quick episode and joining me on this journey towards greater discipline and focus. And until next time, stay disciplined, stay focused, and keep playing bigger.
