Speaker 1:

3 Guys Around the Table.

Speaker 2:

Well, there's 3 of us and there's a table.

Speaker 3:

You've heard of 5 guys. We're not talking burgers and fries here, we're talking 3 guys, a table and the topics of the day that we want to talk about. It could be anything from this to that, or we could talk to this person to that, but guess what? You'll never know what it is until you listen in.

Speaker 2:

Has there ever been a musical artist? More musician or group that you, when you were younger, did not like, but then over time, over the course of time, you've either grown to appreciate, or that you've really grown to really like their music. Topic one of the day.

Speaker 3:

I like it, but I have to interject before we start topic one of the day. I'm so sorry. Yes, I can't help it. Did I look good? I can't help it. Did I smell good? Can dance all night. Happy 75th birthday to the man Rick Flair.

Speaker 2:

Yep Limousine riding jet flying.

Speaker 3:

Rolex wearing, diamond ring wearing. I can barely hold these crocs down.

Speaker 2:

Happy birthday.

Speaker 1:

I didn't know where we were going with that. You know, I'm just sitting over here in my blanket. I was like what in the world?

Speaker 3:

is happening. Got a little Rick Flair Happy birthday action. Back to it.

Speaker 1:

All right, ricky Flair, oh did you ever get a special guest? I did know Dusty was going to be here today.

Speaker 2:

I wanted to throw out a real quick happy birthday brother. Happy birthday from the, the American dream.

Speaker 3:

No, don't we have another somebody that else wants to give him a happy birthday. In in Randy's sandwich out there, where?

Speaker 2:

Where Is Randy out there?

Speaker 1:

I thought I saw him in the waiting room.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, brother, let me tell you something. There's certain people that rise to the top, yeah. And when they hear you think about coffee and cream, the cream of the crop, yeah, my Joe man, randy's sandwiches, what are those guys? And so was the niche Happy birthday.

Speaker 3:

Wow, oh wow, we got, just just telling you. Wow, wow All right Back to it 75 today 75.

Speaker 2:

See, he looks much older. He's lived. He's lived a little faster life, I mean he's lived 140 years yeah.

Speaker 1:

The videos of him and Mike Dusty smoking marijuana.

Speaker 3:

So the 30 for 30 on Rick Flair. I just watched it again. That's good.

Speaker 1:

I watched it, not longer ago.

Speaker 3:

I just watched it again Within like the last week, and they all on Netflix. Yeah, and so from 1971 until 1991, he would drink 10 beers and at least four cocktails every single day. Have you watched it more? Yeah, it's incredible, I mean it's good, yeah, even.

Speaker 1:

Jane, I mean Jane. He likes documentaries. Even she was like this one. She was like Holy smokes.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that dude should be. Yeah, it's incredible.

Speaker 1:

What do you think about the number of women he says he has relations with?

Speaker 2:

I don't 10,000.

Speaker 1:

What's?

Speaker 2:

the number. I mean that's a wealth, chamberlain yeah.

Speaker 1:

I mean, that's some stats there.

Speaker 2:

Wait a minute, well, does that even possible?

Speaker 1:

Does that mean, he has every disease possible?

Speaker 3:

I mean I think there's some they've even named after Right, the Ricky Flair, the Nature Boy, yeah.

Speaker 2:

That's some wealth. Chamberlain, I mean seriously, he said is that even possible? I mean, how many days? And there's 365 days a year.

Speaker 3:

Well, hold on, let me do some math there About 27 years. Let me see, all right, let's just say, let's just throw it out there 20. Okay, yeah, we're going to start at 20. Yeah, times, 365 days a year. Well, that'll get you over. That's 20,000.

Speaker 2:

So let's just say to a day. That's a lot. That's that's a lot. And and not taking any like days off or anything.

Speaker 3:

All right back to our topic.

Speaker 1:

Sorry about the derailing musical group that you used to not like, but now do Well, let me ask you this did your parents have you listened to music when you were little that you just couldn't stand, and now Is that kind of what you're talking about here?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, actually what it?

Speaker 1:

could be. Yes, papa had some music that I was like holy smokes, this is terrible.

Speaker 3:

Yep, yep, but then everybody loved Roy. Okay, what are you talking about? I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Well, like like papa loved him, some Conway to Eddie.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, bum-bum-bum, that's and that's Conway to it.

Speaker 2:

He's creepy man.

Speaker 3:

Creepy stalker. What's wrong with that strange?

Speaker 1:

man, you can't be. It's stalking wrong as I look out the window.

Speaker 2:

Don't talk about the old people, yeah look lying here with Linda on my mind. Come on, man.

Speaker 3:

That's great song.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that's great great song All right Conway to it. He is one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's one, and you know. You know I talked about this earlier in the week. The other one that Come to mind was actually one of my wife's favorites, and that's Ronnie Mills. I love. Ronnie, I didn't care for it when I was growing up, but now, I mean when he comes on, he's pretty good.

Speaker 3:

Yep? Are you saying he loves it? Are you can say, are you saying that you can see his talent now?

Speaker 1:

Oh my goodness, I think completely inappropriate.

Speaker 2:

So Ronnie Mills sap now look here.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, do you think he's really that good?

Speaker 1:

I think he's pretty good, look here.

Speaker 2:

I mean that's completely, really, that's. I should have done, nobody for me, oh.

Speaker 3:

Oh, you did you not see that coming? Okay, scratch Um yeah, so.

Speaker 1:

Jamie looser, ronnie Mills, do you?

Speaker 2:

have a favorite song by either of those people?

Speaker 3:

me, let me think about that I know my favorite by him, what smokey mountain that was what I was gonna say.

Speaker 1:

Smoking mountain Right, that's probably it.

Speaker 2:

I think, I think I'll go Um, let's see. Hmm, that's a difficult one. He's got some good songs Did he do?

Speaker 3:

did he do a cover of? I can see clearly now.

Speaker 1:

I.

Speaker 2:

Please don't tell me how the story ends.

Speaker 3:

Okay, I won't, but fantastic song written by, I Know this one, william Elson, chris Christopherson, the same genre.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, ronnie Mills. Okay, chris, I was a highway man oh. I did ride Chris.

Speaker 3:

So I thought about this one.

Speaker 1:

Once we talked about we're not gonna pick Conway Twitty songs.

Speaker 2:

I'm waiting, I'm still waiting.

Speaker 3:

Conway and Tammy Wynette right.

Speaker 2:

I already gave you mine. Um boom, boom, boom. I can tell you've never been this far before he's got some weird Fit jeans.

Speaker 1:

What about Didn't he do a?

Speaker 2:

lady down yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I see the one in your eyes. Conway was all about the ladies. I remember I had to go watch him in concert Judds when I was little. Well, terrible.

Speaker 2:

There may be a throwback to the Judds here in a minute, did you?

Speaker 3:

ever see Ronnie Mills.

Speaker 2:

No, he didn't either this this are we recording. Oh.

Speaker 1:

I'm done. Do you know where Ronnie Mills hips from?

Speaker 3:

No, you're kidding me. I think he's from Lima, oh my.

Speaker 2:

Is he really? Yes, see, I had no idea. I didn't know he was in Ohioan. He's a good Ohioan, so I figured, if anything, he'd be south, I mean born south of Lima, isn't everything.

Speaker 3:

Well, apparently so my band. So I thought about this one long and hard, because when this band came out, I was in college and this was the he is born south of Lima, by the way, just for facts, just for facts About.

Speaker 1:

Mississippi.

Speaker 2:

Yeah what state do you think he's from? I'm gonna go Arkansas.

Speaker 3:

Mississippi, mississippi, is it? Yeah, so I was Friar's Pulent. I was in college during a unique time. You know that's when you had, you know, dr Dre and all the how old are?

Speaker 1:

you. You're not as old as Mark. What do you mean? It was a weird time.

Speaker 3:

Well, you'll see where I'm going with this. So you had that mixture of the you know, I guess. Then you got into the East Coast and West Coast hip-hop and all that stuff. Are you trying to start gang wars now? Yes, I am. So that was you know. You were listening to that stuff and you would go to parties and you know you'd have fraternity parties and that kind of thing and you were listening to. You know the Chronic by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.

Speaker 3:

Exactly, but you were also on the tail end of the Beastie Boys, right, right. And then the Grunge. This is when Grunge hit Intergalactic Playing. I love it, john. So I was Nirvana, I was a big Pearl Jam guy, okay, and just because I thought the album one that came out was that's an album you can play forward to back right. Never skip it Front to back Never.

Speaker 1:

You can play it backwards. Is that what he does? What he does with me is and it makes a sound, and it makes a sound, and it makes a sound and it makes a sound, and it makes a sound, and it makes a sound and he can sing.

Speaker 3:

So I love Pearl Jam and, like I said, I really liked all the rambles. I love Pearl Jam.

Speaker 1:

That's what it says when you play it backwards.

Speaker 3:

The thing is about Pearl Jam, though, is that Stevie Wonder is not blind. I've heard that one. The thing is with Pearl Jam is the band would back Eddie Vedder right, it was all about Eddie Vedder's vocals and that kind of thing. So I like those guys. Well, I never cared for Nirvana, even though it's the heavy grunge. You know the loud music, and I've always been a metal guy anyway.

Speaker 1:

Is it because the clothes they wore? Let's be honest about it. It's because the clothes they wore right.

Speaker 3:

The look was a little off, but that was the grunge.

Speaker 1:

You were upset with the greasy hair, wasn't you? Get off my lawn and wash your hair?

Speaker 3:

No, I didn't like it. And again, I'm a metal guy, right, I like all the metal stuff. But I never got a Nirvana because it was just Well number one. You can't sing along to it, you just thrashing your head because you don't know what the heck they're singing.

Speaker 2:

But now that I've gotten older I have really so lyrics like she eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak. I am locked inside your heart shaped box. For a week I've been locked, yeah.

Speaker 1:

What? No war? I don't know.

Speaker 2:

All I know is she eyes me like a Pisces, unless she's Ronnie Millsat, and then she doesn't. No doubt I'm just coming back to you.

Speaker 3:

So now that I've gotten older, I can be on the tractor and I can be playing Johnny Cash, I can be playing Whale and Jennings or I'll play Nirvana. And it's just a mood. Right, Music to me is a mood anyway. Whatever kind of mood I'm in, it'll bring me in and out.

Speaker 1:

I agree with that. Music is a mood.

Speaker 3:

And I'll play Nirvana and I just get kind of hyped up. But one thing I've just noticed recently about it and what is so cool about Nirvana? If you listen to quote, unquote bands nowadays there are no bands, really the music drowns out the lead singer. If you listen to Nirvana, it's all at like 12. They're all equally as loud and Kurt Cobain is screaming, Dave Grohl's beating on the drums, the other guys are just playing along, but they're all loud.

Speaker 2:

Chris Novelchess.

Speaker 1:

Novelchess, careful now, careful now.

Speaker 2:

Novelessic, novelessic, yeah.

Speaker 3:

But it's all equally as loud and it's all hype music now and it's just like I said. I get that mood, I want to hear it, I crank it up and it's just go at it. I'm the old guy sitting there thrashing my head at the stoplight. Do you have a?

Speaker 2:

favorite Nirvana song In Bloom yeah.

Speaker 3:

But you know I'll come back to another one. I got another one.

Speaker 2:

I think you go ahead.

Speaker 3:

Stone-tibble pilots. Yep Love those guys, and the older I get, the more I appreciate them, the more I like them. I just really I could play STP all the time now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, this is a hard one because there are several you know bands that were super popular when I was a kid and, for whatever reason, the mom is in the poppers. Yeah Well, I was, I was, I was gonna go, you know, back a little earlier than that, but that's okay. You know, elvis was huge when I was a kid, but no, anyway.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Some people mentioned Janice Joplin. I go back to Scott job. Right, let me just say um, now Eddie Rabbit would be the first person that I would say you know, when I was a kid, I, for whatever reason, I just never was. No, I didn't you know. Now, anytime an Eddie Rabbit song comes on, it's I mean any rabbit is awesome. He was incredible. I mean just a, you know, great voice. Um, quite the beard. Yeah, died way too young, unfortunately.

Speaker 1:

Um, but yeah, I mean, could he see?

Speaker 2:

I think he had vision. Wait, let's check oh.

Speaker 3:

This has been a long weekend.

Speaker 2:

So any rabbit and I'm gonna stay in the country music genre. Love it and come back with the Judds. What's your favorite song, though, from?

Speaker 3:

Eddie Rabbit.

Speaker 2:

Uh, I love a rainy night.

Speaker 3:

I love a rainy night yeah.

Speaker 2:

I love a rainy.

Speaker 1:

Come on, that's fantastic. What yours? I sleep good when it's raining, that's it.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's not an any rabbit song.

Speaker 2:

When rain hits the window, it makes a sound. I love that song.

Speaker 3:

I would say that my favorite I do love her. Driving my life away is a great song to listen to jam down the road, oh yeah but I also love the song Uh, suspicions, yep, just how it starts out, and then, step by step, he's got so many good. Oh good hits man had a cousin that looked like him, by the way every which way, but loose. Fantastic yeah, oh that's good.

Speaker 2:

That's a great song. Right turn Glad Yep um, but the Judds Um never, never a big fan.

Speaker 3:

But as time has gone on, you know it is big, I've grown to I I'm not even gonna give you a trombone on that.

Speaker 2:

I mean, you know, but um, they, uh, their harmonies were amazing, um why no one could sing her behind off? I mean, she should she should have sang a little bit more. So, chris's we we need to get him some.

Speaker 3:

Uh, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

He needs some, I don't know some type of cold beverage. There's a beverage here, man.

Speaker 1:

Do you need a blanket? I?

Speaker 3:

need a, I need a Caucasian. You make a pretty good Caucasian Jackie, that's right.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you something, baby. The mouth of the self is here, baby. So the Judds, judds you're going with the Judds and Eddie Rabbit Um and and jumping over to, uh, you know, rock and roll heart um, better coulda man, just and never. Never was really a big, big fan growing up. The Wilson's Um heart that I mean. Gee, many christmas.

Speaker 3:

I got one for you. Yeah, my parents used to. So my parents were Beach Boys fans. Right, they'd like to help us in the Beach Boys Dad despised outlaw country and I love it. You guys know, I'm just be happy listening. Johnny Cash wait on, jennings, my lager and Willie Nelson I love those stuff Yep dad hated that stuff.

Speaker 3:

But they both collectively liked the Stetla brothers yep, and I didn't appreciate them until I got a little older and I can tell you that I appreciate and actually like and Frequently listen to the Stetla brothers Yep. Oh, that's the worst song they did.

Speaker 2:

I love it yeah do you remember these? Yep, that's a really good song. They could tell some stories in their songs. They could Conversely, since we're on the same, since you know, kind of keeping it in this area of music that Greg loves truth. Has there ever been a group that you were really in on?

Speaker 1:

Millie Vanilly.

Speaker 2:

Hey girl, you know, it's true that's true that you loved, and then, the more popular they became, the less you liked them. That's a tougher one, or did you just get you know? Have you ever grown weary of a band just because you've listened to him so much?

Speaker 3:

No, I've never had that issue, I think that, just as it is in life with anybody else, you need to know when to quit. And I think there are bands out there that have just here's another album, here's another album, here's another album, and it's just flop after flop after flop. Who are you referring to? That's a good question, you know they're 180 I think I think the Rolling Stones, arrowsmith, a lot of those old rock bands like that and I love Arrowsmith.

Speaker 2:

But I think they're kind of. I've never been a big Arrowsmith fan.

Speaker 3:

Love their stuff in the 70s and when flowers in the attic, you know, came out, and then when DMC. Collaboration. Permanent vacation came out like 85, but that was great. But they've kind of fallen. That's a good point. They've kind of. Now I still like them right, and I like to see them in concert and all that, but I can't. When's it time to hang it up? You know, I Think kiss has figured it out.

Speaker 3:

I don't know if they're coming out with new stuff or not, but they only play their good stuff when they're alive and well, I you know, I know Greg is a huge fan of Taylor Swift huge.

Speaker 1:

I am yeah, she's pretty good, she's good. I'm not being sarcastic, yeah ah, if you've got a teenage child, that's a female. I do not then you like Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, guess what? And you like.

Speaker 1:

Olivia Rodrigo.

Speaker 3:

So that's a new.

Speaker 1:

Olivia Rodrigo. Never heard of her.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll tell you what I appreciate, how Talented Taylor Swift is and how good of a business person she is and how positive she is.

Speaker 3:

I like all those things. What about little cam? We don't think about little cam.

Speaker 2:

I have no idea.

Speaker 1:

Well well, kim, nope no idea she's, she's game, she's small.

Speaker 2:

What about medium Kim? I don't know that.

Speaker 3:

So she's like Ronnie, but she can see.

Speaker 1:

Harsh but fair. So. So how's the reds doing spring training baseball?

Speaker 2:

to an O.

Speaker 3:

I don't know, that, yeah, they're two and all undefeated World series.

Speaker 2:

This could be the year never lost wire wire, the wire wire.

Speaker 1:

Until today the Cubs were undefeated. They were two. They lost. Today they're two and one.

Speaker 3:

It's undefeated, never lost 1990 back. We're going to do it again.

Speaker 2:

In all honesty, I'm willing to bet whatever you know next week.

Speaker 1:

I mean, we don't.

Speaker 2:

We don't condone gaming, but I'm willing to bet whatever, that 1990 doesn't happen next weeks and then the week after that, and then the week after that we're going to be able to talk about baseball.

Speaker 1:

How exciting is that? I like, I like me some baseball cups Got him a good signing last night.

Speaker 2:

Yep, they did.

Speaker 1:

I don't like the contract but Cody Bell interested in the Cubs, Listen at. Three years, $80 million, but he can opt out after every year. So it's a one year deal. So if he stinks he stays, and if he doesn't stink, then he opts out.

Speaker 2:

Is there a mutual option on the part of the Cubs? I don't remember because he can get out of it anytime. They could be like no, they're not getting rid of him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but yeah what about Joey Vardo?

Speaker 2:

He's going to be sitting at home all season. They said it could be an assistant coach on the staff or the Reds. It's it's time.

Speaker 3:

Again, no one to get out the youth, the youth, the two youths, these two youths.

Speaker 2:

I'm beeswood, I'm pretty, I'm pretty optimistic. You've got some good young people you don't have pigeon we need Hunter.

Speaker 1:

Green to come on. You all have no pigeon.

Speaker 2:

There's a lot of ifs. They signed Frankie Montas. You know if he, if he comes through Hunter Green, continues to develop.

Speaker 1:

If ifs and buts were bigger in nuts.

Speaker 2:

If Nick Lodolo can stay healthy. Oh, I like Nick Lodolo. Wow, that sounded like you made a little error.

Speaker 1:

You're a big fan. You're a big fan of it, I wonder. Opening day for the Reds Yep 25th.

Speaker 2:

Are we going?

Speaker 3:

No, chris will not be going, he'll be, my plan was, you know, I used to go all the time. My plan was to go, but I think I will be unable to attend.

Speaker 2:

Yep, yeah, I understand. Well, that was fun Music. Baseballs around the corner. We're out, yeah.
