Yeah. As always. Yes. Hello, my friends. Welcome to It's All Magic. I am your guide, your host and your friend, Devon Heyn. And here we'll be discussing how to make your life truly feel like magic. I believe that our very existence on earth is nothing less than a miracle. And that we all have so much potential to learn, to grow, to experience and to create during our short time here. It is both my passion and my pleasure to walk this path of life optimization by your side. We will discuss topics like passion, purpose, intuition, manifestation, physical well-being, and much, much more. I'm a yoga teacher, a meditation and breathwork facilitator, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. But more importantly, I am an eternal optimist, a lover of life and a forever student. It is my hope that with each and every episode, you too will finally start to believe it really is all magic after all. Ready to dive in? Let's do it. Hello my friends and welcome back to yet another magical episode of It's All Magic. I am so. So so excited to have you here today because we are speaking to a multi-talented, multi, passionate, multifaceted healer woman. This woman facilitated a call ceremony for my friends and I a few. Weeks back in LA. For one of my friend's bachelorette parties, and it was truly incredible. Before the ceremony. Started. We got into a conversation with. Quinn about her life, her life. Story, her beliefs, the practices and modalities that she practices and preaches every. Day. And I was simply stated, captivated by her. She is wise. She is playful, she's authentic, she's confident, and she's just a lot of fun. And so I cannot wait to share this conversation with you today where we discussed a little bit about Her story of having. Grown up in South Africa, playing. Amongst the trees barefoot and dreaming of one. Day being a ranger, exploring the nature and the animals. Of Africa. We talk about her journey as an eternal vagabond, moving from country to country, constantly following the messages and signs from her soul itself. We discuss some of her favorite healing modalities, such as metamorphosis and somatic practices. We go into the human pin codes, which is a form of numerology that also incorporates the elements into it. And we end with the. Classic topic. Of psychedelics. And so if any of those topics interest you, definitely stay tuned, because I have an incredible conversation with Quinn coming up in just a moment before we get into the conversation, though. I, of course, want to allow us. To check in with ourselves. By taking a couple. Deep breaths. And asking a couple simple questions. So if you would like to close down your eyes here. I invite you to do so. I also invite you. To place one. Hand on your heart and one hand on your belly. The breathing we'll do today. Is extremely simple. We're just going to take three breaths in through the nose. And then out through the mouth, sighing out with each exhale. And if you've taken the option of closing your eyes today, I want you to then keep them closed. After that third exhale for just a short check in that I'll guide. So let's go ahead and just empty out from our previous breath here. Inhale through the nose. Open mouth. Sigh it out. Oh two more. Inhale through the nose. Open mouth. Let it go. Oh and final one. Inhale through the nose. And let it all go. Oh, beautiful. Keeping the eyes closed. If you chose that option. And just beginning to check in with yourself. Checking in with your body, with your mind, with your spirit. And asking yourself the question how am I doing today? How am I feeling? How am I moving? Am I moving slow and heavily today? Or am I fast light on my feet? What's my energy like today? What's coming up for me when I ask these questions? And then coming to the second and final question of what do I need today? Now that I know how I'm doing, the energy I'm embodying, the way that I'm moving, what do I need? Do I need a little bit of rest today? A few more deep breaths, a long walk outside, getting some fresh air, perhaps some sunshine. A phone call with a loved one. Grabbing tea with a friend. A cuddle on the couch. A good cry. Some music. What do you need? And knowing that now that you are aware of how you're doing and what you need, you can actually take what you need whenever you want it, whenever you need it. You can honor yourself by asking these questions every day at least once a day. How am I doing and what do I need? There are the most simple yet profound questions we can ever ask ourselves. Because when we take care of ourselves, we can better take care of the people, the community, and the world around us. It is not a selfish act to take care of yourself. It's actually the most selfless thing you can do when our cups are not full. We can't fill anyone else's. So taking one last breath to seal in this knowledge of how you're doing and what you need, inhale through the nose. And final exhale, sigh it out. Gorgeous fluttering. Open your eyelids. Into a world where you can actually honor yourself and your needs. gorgeous. Gorgeous, gorgeous. Well, I am definitely ready to head on into the conversation with Quinn Brown. Huffman. It will not disappoint. Buckle your seatbelts, my friends. I will see you on the other side. Hello, my friends, and welcome back to another magical episode of It's All Magic. Today, life is about to get even more magical because we are joined by Wonder Woman herself. This Wonder Woman is truly the walking embodiment of everything she practices and preaches, from authenticity and healing to creativity and even joy and laughter and play. When I met her a few weeks back, it was actually at a cocktail ceremony that she facilitated for my dear friends and I. It was for one of my friend's bachelorette parties, and it was truly magical beyond belief. When I met Quinn, her larger than life persona, her energy, her charisma just captivated me and I couldn't wait to learn more about her and have her on the show. So without further ado, let's give a warm welcome to none other than Quinn Brown Hoffman. Hi, Quinn. How are you doing? Oh. Oh. That's amazing. All of the emotions are welcome here, so please bring them on in. Why do you think you're feeling that way today? Oh, sorry. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. Well, thank you for sharing, and I'm so sorry to hear that. I know no words will suffice. I can't even imagine the grief, the pain you're experiencing. But you should just know from someone who has not met your mother, but who has experienced you in your fullness. You are truly just the embodiment of strong womanhood. Like when I met you, it was that divine femininity of the mother archetype. But also you have that that power, that resilience. I mean, you are amazing, and I have no doubt that it was your mother and watching everything she did that made you into the woman you are today. So let's dedicate this episode to her. This is in her honor for everything she did for you and for the rest of the world. amazing. You're so welcome. Well, let's kick this off with with a really beautiful, positive question just to ease into the conversation. So I always like to start with the question, for you, what makes life truly feel like magic? That is beautiful. What I really love about that, I actually heard recently. I feel like this is so synchronistic, but I heard on a podcast that when we look up something about the movement of our eyes, moving up actually makes us more creative. It's something about the way it connects both hemispheres of the brain. So maybe you knew that or your dad did, but I love that in the spiritual sense of looking up, reminds you of what's all around you and what's possible, but then physiologically, it actually makes you more creative. It actually opens you to those possibilities. So I love that. Yeah. Absolutely. So before we dive into, there's so much I want to get into with you, I want to talk more about your story, your journey, all of the practices, modalities you practice and preach. But let's start off with can you just kind of introduce yourself what you do? There are so many tools that you use. So even though I will attempt to explain them in my solo intro, I want to give you the stage for a second just to explain. What do you do, Quinn? I. Know. I'm. Yes. It is. And then. I'm. Just. I love that I. I don't think we even need to boil it down into words. I think that's too modern of a concept. And I think the more that we can all embody our multifaceted selves and allow ourselves to change, evolve where as many hats, titles and names as we want, the better society will be. So I, I absolutely love wearing many hats and I love that you do too. And I'll also say with ceremony, I, I love that there are modern people like yourself that are willing to facilitate that kind of intentional magic in a circle setting, because we used to do that as humans. And as you said, we've gotten so far away from that. Our lives move so fast, we barely even take the time to sit down, even without a circle. Just sit down by ourselves and tune in and ask ourselves what's going on, what we need. And even in the couple of hours that you facilitated for our cocktail ceremony, I mean, it was beyond words. Like we laughed, we cried, we held each other. We got kind of individual guidance from the card deck that you brought out. So I don't even have words. But thank you for doing what you do because it's definitely needed. But. Yes. You need to. Yes I agree. So something I want to dive into is your story. Because probably like yourself, I. And like your daughter, I am fascinated by people, by their stories, by what makes them them. Why are they this way? And because I've heard you describe yourself as a performer and a storyteller. I was wondering if you could tell us the story of a young girl growing up in South Africa, playing amongst the trees. Can you tell us a little bit about that little girl? What was she like? What was that upbringing like? Yes. Wow. And. Then. Yeah. As always. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Right. Wow. So looking back. Yeah. There are so many things I want to say. First of all, beautiful storytelling. But one question that I wanted to ask about the performance aspect. Looking back, of course, we always have 2020 vision when we're looking back at our lives. Why do you think that happened? Like, why did the universe conspire to get you to audition for this show? In what way was that part of your path? Yeah. Yeah. That is so interesting. It's almost like you truly called that in for yourself by believing this is a new South Africa. You got to be part of that. That wave. Wow. That's amazing. Yes. And I also completely agree with you that storytelling is a healing art. I myself come from kind of a family of storytellers. My dad, when his older brother had children that they always called my dad, Uncle Brad the Storyteller, because he could just weave these long, intricate stories. And he's very emotional, so he pours his heart into it. And then my mom had this kind of transformational experience when she was young. She was in school and they had an assembly. So the whole school was was invited. And this storyteller performed and she had a moment where she thought, that's an actual job to be a storyteller. And she was captivated by their performance. And so I feel like when you can tell a story properly, you can tug on someone's heartstrings. You can get directly into their mind through their heart. That's where change happens. There are times when all even listen to someone talking about a topic that I agree with, but because they don't kind of tell the story or package it in a way that will get to people, it almost sometimes aggravates me of like, they're not they're not telling the true essence of the story. They're actually going to turn people off from it. So all of that is to say, I agree with you. The storytelling is healing indeed. And one other thing that I really wanted to touch on that I think makes you so unique. And I haven't met many people like you in terms of this is all of your migrating the fact that you allowed your soul, your intuition to guide you to different countries. And the reason I love that is because one of my favorite quotes in the world that I know you will also resonate with, says, I often wonder why birds stay in the same place when they could go anywhere on earth. And then I ask myself the same question. Oh, it's such a good quote. And that was one of the things when I met you. Yes, when I met you, it instantly, I mean, gave me chills hearing about your your moving, your living abroad because in so many ways, I feel like that was probably a big part of your spiritual journey as well. Your story of finding yourself, your story of transformation is that true? Wow. I'd love to hear it. What? Am. Wow. That's amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Hmhm. Hmhm. Yeah. Absolutely. So for people listening that want to learn to follow their. Yes. And to make choices out of love rather than fear as you yourself had to learn. But let's say they don't really know what yes feels like. What are your tips or advice for someone just getting to learn what their intuition is is saying to them? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. That's a. I love that, and I completely agree. I feel that way when I'm trying to discern between whether I'm letting my mind guide me or my my heart and my intuition. So even with, you know, being a small business owner, which I know you can understand, whenever I start telling myself, oh, I really should do this, you know, whether it's, I should post on social media more or I should have this big launch for this thing. If you if you start shooting on yourself, that usually comes from a place of the intellect, the thinking of what you believe you have to do. And I've started very slowly learning to do exactly what you're saying. I love that practice of just closing my eyes, even putting my hand on my heart, maybe the other on my belly and saying, but how does that feel? And anytime I start thinking of all the things I should do and I start feeling small and anxious, I know that's not it. That's not right for me. So it really is, you know, transformational practice. When? Yeah. yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Amen. Amen. And I feel like we all have to learn that at some point in our journey. Yes, absolutely. So something else that this is kind of segueing into you. Into. You mentioned the practice metamorphosis, which I am fascinated by on so many levels and one kind of small personal fact. The reason why when you mentioned metamorphosis, I was like, whoa, is because a couple years ago I actually had created and taught my own six week holistic wellness course, and it touched on everything from, meditation breathwork. I talked about longevity and kind of the science around that. It was really holistic. It was amazing. And I called it Chrysalis to Catalyst. And all of the imagery about the course was this butterfly chrysalis and spreading its wings and flying. And so I feel deeply connected to that lingo. Even right now I'm wearing butterfly earrings. So I feel that it's very aligned to talk about metamorphosis and the healing it creates. So because talking to you is the first time I heard about metamorphosis, do you mind just kind of going back to the basics? What is it? How is it created? What does it do? Yeah. I don't know, yeah. Yes. Some. Yeah. It was. Wow. That's amazing. Do you have a favorite client story that helps to kind of just showcase what metamorphosis can do? Yeah. Absolutely. I love that you. You helped to catalyze the healing, and then they were ready to fly their. They're good to go. Amazing. So something I want to better understand is this concept of generational trauma. Ancestral trauma, karmic baggage, all of that. So let's say someone listening right now has never heard of any of those terms. How how can we explain what those are and and how does that get stored in the body? What is the mechanism through which that's even happening? We don't have to go too deep. We can stay up here. Okay. And. Yeah. You are making so much sense. I think that was a beautiful explanation. I loved that, and I. I especially loved what you said about we Are water. I mean, if you if you think about us in the womb, you know, we are surrounded by water. We are still being formed into that more earth element, but we are water. And even now when we're adults, we are like 60 to 70% water. So I love what you said about if you watch water in a glass and there is a sound nearby or the lightest touch, it's going to affect the water. It's actually going to change the cellular structure. I don't know if you've heard of these studies, but they had done these studies, I think, in Japan on the structure of water molecules, where they had two different, two different parts. You might know this, but I'll explain for the listeners as well. But in one glass. Yeah. So and correct me if I'm wrong, but this is from what I remember a while ago in one glass of water, they wrote all of these just heat, full words on the glass, and it was like, I hate you, you're ugly. And the person writing it had to kind of feel those emotions. And then they looked at another glass where they wrote, I love you, you're beautiful, life is good, whatever. And they actually saw that the molecular structure of the water has changed, and the one that was in the glass with the more positive energy, if you will, had a more healing structure. And the one with kind of a negative wording like lost its, its healing nature. And so that was just one example. I know that's getting away from the body, but just to really bring it down to everything that impacts us. Yes, absolutely. I love that. And one other piece that I, I really appreciate that you talked about is where you said that emotions are just motion. I've heard it's energy in motion. And I feel like that even brings us back full circle to what we were talking about at the beginning, about intuition and tuning in, that if you can notice your emotion and you understand that your emotion is just the energy in motion, trying to clue you into something, it it gives you that sense of knowing you suddenly understand. So anyway, I think it sounds wonderful and I would love to experience a session at some point in the future. It sounds really. Yes. So kind of shifting gears a little bit because I could talk about that forever, but there's a couple other topics I really want to touch on with you. So one of them is pin codes, which that was also the first time I'd heard of it when I was with you. I've obviously heard of things similar like numerology, but can you tell us a little bit about pin codes and and how that came into your journey and why you think it's so powerful? Okay. And. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Absolutely. I, I do. Before you get into that, though, something that I that that just made me think of is it is so similar in some ways to astrology, which I know we talked about when I was with you for the cocktail ceremony and what I love about both of these modalities is that, as you said, it allows you to have unconditional love for someone being exactly who they are and recognizing that that is part of their sacred life path. And they are that way for a reason. It's all divinely constructed, and it makes us feel the same way about ourselves too, that you can look at an astrology chart or your human pin codes and say, this was all meant to be like, I am here for a divine reason and I am a masterpiece. So I really love these modalities. And the answer is yes. I would love to hear mine. Please. Oh. What is that? Oh. Oh. Yeah. I love that, yes. It also makes sense that we are both these multi passionate people that we both like to wear a lot of hats, like you've mentioned yours. I mean metamorphosis pin codes, dual, life coaching. And for myself too like astrology, breathwork, facilitation I mean coaching as well. All of that. And I think that points to being the child that is insatiably curious. They're trying to learn about the world. They're trying to kind of piece things together. They're observing things about other people and the way things are. They're kind of it sounds like they're just fascinated by the nature of the universe, the nature of humanity. and if that is true, I definitely resonate. Yes, with that aspect of play, that's something that I really admire and resonate with you on, because I know you're always talking about making it fun, like not forgetting to play, not forgetting to laugh, to make things light. And I am constantly telling people that, I know, you know, on my Instagram stories, my most common theme is don't forget to play. And it's always videos of me dancing like a wild woman not even caring what I look like, but just reminding people to enjoy life. Oh. I love that snap for that. That's so beautifully said. And. Yeah. I love. Yes. Well said. Okay. What's next for the pin codes? Hmhm. Oh, my goodness, that's amazing. Oh! Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Hmhm. Yes, it's very true. And it's. It's so interesting, even what you said about the practical idealist. I really, really love that because I am absolutely an idealist. People have kind of referred to me as sunshine in human form my whole life. I do have kind of that. That joyful vibrance of, like, we get to be here and it gets to be fun. But I think what I'm really stepping into in this current era phase of my life is learning how to use that as my gift, while also saying there is a dark side and without the dark side, we wouldn't have the light. And even what you were saying a moment ago that just this morning you had this moment of heavy grief standing in the ocean, that we can experience that as human beings and have that light playfulness. I think I'm just getting more comfortable with blending the two and, making sure that for people that are in that dark place, I don't come off as two. Life is good all the time because life can be good even when it's hard, is what I'm trying to say. And I don't think in the past it always came off that way. So I really appreciate that. I'm I'm going to take that and run the practical idealist. I love that. So thank you for sharing the Pin codes. I mean, that's a really cool just a really cool modality. And the fact that it relates to the elements as well. I mean, I'm personally fascinated by the elements. I've been studying them deeply in astrology recently, and I wanted to ask you just kind of on a personal note, which of the four elements do you resonate most deeply with? Or maybe two of the four? Because I have thoughts for you, but I wanted to ask you. yes. Yeah. I love that. It's. It's also interesting how your connection with the elements can shift over time. Because I've even found in my own personal astrology studies recently that you can have a certain kind of elementary makeup in your birth chart, but it doesn't always refer to what you're experiencing in your life, because we can kind of call upon the elements at different times throughout our journey. So for you, what I was imagining, especially in the beginning with your story, I was seeing a lot of earth and fire because the earth to me, was this connection to the body, in this connection to literally Mother Nature, that you were that young girl running barefoot through the trees and wanting to be, a ranger, exploring the the wildness of Africa that felt very earth to me. But the fire is that playfulness, that, that spark of inspiration and, travel adventure. All of that is very, very fire to me. But it's it's interesting. I can see the air. I mean, as the storyteller, as the woman, Mary, wearing many hats. And I also really resonate with that fire and air together because I'm a Leo fire sign, sun and then a Gemini Rising. And so even when you had told me the Gemini and the Aries Rising at the cocktail ceremony, I thought, No wonder I love this woman. So it's it's fun making some of those connections. But for people that are listening that want to hear their own human pin codes, is there a website that they can go to? How can they learn more about their own? Okay, okay. Okay. No. Okay. Perfect. Because I could see this really sparking someone's curiosity and then being like, where do I go from here? But the book is definitely on my to read list at this point. So transitioning to kind of our last topic, one that I'm very, very excited to get your take on. I want to talk a little bit about psychedelics, because in my audience, we have some people who might be aware of some of the studies around psychedelics. They might be completely open to the concept of it. And then other people are still in the camp of psychedelics are drugs that are being popularized these days, and I don't know why. So can you kind of walk us through? Because I know there's even at Sunset Park Provisions where you, you know, provide all these services. There were a lot of mushroom books and information about psychedelics and services using microdosing. So can you kind of just step back for a second and explain for people that are not that familiar with the healing aspect of it yet, how do you like to explain your perspective of what psychedelics are and what they can provide for us? Yes. Perfect. Yeah. And, Yes. No. You you definitely are. And I agree with you I mean going back to what we said at the beginning, storytelling is the most, the most transformational answer you can give. So by telling your personal story I think people listening will be able to better connect with that. And for me to I resonate so deeply with what you're saying because just like you, I've always been kind of the good girl. I mean, I don't drink, I don't really party unless it's dancing with my girlfriends, drinking cocktail or I. I've always been kind of on my own path and anything that didn't feel aligned. I was the first to say no, peer pressure wasn't really a thing for me. I kind of just. I heard the beat of my own drum and I followed it. And I say that also to preface that my experience I've only had a few experiences with psilocybin mushrooms so far, but they have been beautiful. I actually had this experience about a year ago with my husband, where we went to a Microdose breathwork experience. So it was, you know, about an hour or an hour and a half of really activating intense emotional breathwork, aided by a little bit of microdose tea. And it was so powerful because I've done a lot of breathwork, but my husband hadn't, and he's tried mushrooms more than I have. And so it was almost like us sharing our modalities and blending them together. And we both had such a transformational experience. I mean, we're lying on the yoga studio floor crying, kind of healing. This stress and trauma that's been stored in our body. And then afterwards we went to dinner and we read our journal entries to each other, and we just cried and held each other for like an hour. And it was so beautiful. I have no other words. Then it was exactly what we both needed it to be. And I think when you use these medicines with intentionality and as you said, you have the right set and setting, it does tend to bring you exactly what you need. It's not always what you want, but it's exactly what you need. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, absolutely. And I am so glad you brought up the, the fact that it doesn't have to be some hugely mind altering almost like scary big experience. The experiences I've had so far have been very gentle and it's probably been because I wasn't necessarily ready for some huge experience. Whereas my husband is a little bit, more fearless with, you know, trying different amounts of these medicines. He still does it very safely and intentionally. and he likes to meditate doing it and things like that. So he's he does it very, respectfully. But I think because when I've had these experiences, I was in, in a place of, I want to be out of my mind. It didn't happen that way, thank goodness. It was very gentle and loving. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah I agree, Yes. Exactly, exactly. And I think for anyone who's listening who maybe at this point is intrigued but still a little bit cautious, a little nervous about it. I highly recommend checking out the website maps. They do a lot of research studies around psychedelic assisted therapy. And they've found just through their research that psychedelic experiences statistically tend to be the, quote unquote, most spiritual, liberating experience of people's lifetimes. That's what a lot of people say. And it has been shown to help with PTSD, severe anxiety, chronic depression, bipolar disorder. I mean, it's as we've been saying now for a while, when done right, it can be liberating and healing. Yeah. That's really the only way I've ever seen and experienced it. And You know. Yeah. Amen. So before we move on to our final kind of rapid fire questions, I wanted to ask if there's anything else that I left out that's on your heart. On your mind right now that you'd like to share. So beautifully said. Wow. Thank you. That was the perfect note to transition into our rapid fire questions. So for these final questions, there are four. The first one is always personalized for the guest. And then the last three stay the same. So the first question for you is of all of the places that you have traveled to or lived in, which was your favorite? Okay, I love that. So for people who haven't checked it out, it's time to check it out. And question number two is what spiritual or health practice do you do that you would recommend for everyone. It is just that amazing. amazing. Amen to dance. Any form of moving your body feels great and it's good for you, I love that. So number three. Okay. Yes. Well said I love that. Okay. Number three what does this world need most these days for global healing and uplevel in. Yeah I love that. Yes okay. Let's roll with it I love that. And final question is what is your one wish or ask for everyone listening to this. Amazing, amazing. Well, thank you for being here, Quinn. I have gotten so much out of this conversation. I could talk to you for hours and hours more. I feel like we just skimmed the surface, but you were truly so wise. And you are bringing pure magic to this world. So thank you for being here. Yes, of course. Of course. So for anyone listening that wants to get in touch with you or see what you do, where can they find you? Amazing. And I will link everything in the description so people can find you. But thank you again and for everyone listening. We will see you next week. Hey my friends, I hope you enjoyed that conversation as much as I did. As I said at the beginning, Quinn is truly this multiple, passionate, multi-faceted healer woman. She embodies the mother archetype the friend, the daughter, the healer, the medicine woman and the child. She's fun, light and playful. She is here to remind us to enjoy the small things and to make light of even the most challenging times. Finding that sunshine even on our dark days. So I hope that you found some of these nuggets of wisdom really inspiring and motivating for your personal path. Maybe at this point you want to take a deeper dive into metamorph Assist, or human pin codes, or even psychedelics. Maybe her story and her journey fascinated you, and you're starting to feel the call of hopping on a plane with a one way plane ticket in hand, following the calls of your soul and your spirit. No matter what resonated with you, I hope there was at least one takeaway for you. I know I had many, many takeaways so if you enjoyed this episode, please do share it with a family member or friend. It really helps this podcast to grow and as this podcast grows, it allows me to keep doing what I love and sharing these people and these insights with you. I already cannot wait to see you again next week and until then, my friends. Bye for now.
