A family mission statement is a powerful tool defining and committing to your core values. This statement can be a simple phrase or a more detailed declaration of what your family stands for and what you hope to achieve together. For example, your family mission statement might be something like Our family values respect, kindness and learning. We strive to support each other, grow together and contribute positively to our community. Once you've created your mission statement, display it prominently in your home as a reminder of your shared goals and values.

Carey:

It's essential to align your daily actions and decisions with your core values. For instance, if respect is a core value, consider how you communicate with your children and partner, ensuring that your interactions reflect that value. Consistency is vital. When your children see that you live by the values you teach, they're more likely to internalise those values and incorporate them into their behaviour. Consistency and routine One of the pillars of core parenting is consistency. Establishing routines and consistent expectations help children understand the structure and rhythm of family life, which fosters a sense of security.
