Idaho Property Tax issues, City Budgets, and HB 389 with Rep. Mike Moyle
Aug 06, 2024 Episode 178
Matt Todd

Rep. Mike Moyle is one of the longest standing representatives in the state of Idaho and sponsored House Bill 389, which is a bill aimed at curbing the increases in property tax residents were experiencing as cities and areas grew. Property tax in Idaho has no limit to growth, so HB 389 worked to restrict the amount cities could increase their budget that is drawn from property tax. Some cities are claiming there are issues with this, and some are managing fine. Rep. Moyle came in to explain what HB 389 is, how taxes are determined, and where he sees the issues in Idaho. Enjoy!
