In this episode, we had a fascinating discussion between Meg and Brianna. The two discuss the complex ways that race, religion, and culture connect with the development of eating disorders. By sharing her personal story, Brianna sheds light on her challenges and how they influenced her career as a specialist. As a dietician from Haiti, she considers the significant influence of her identity on her profession and considers the crucial moment when a black therapist's advice got her started. The pair explores the significant impact that traditional cuisine and cultural assimilation have on adults who are struggling with eating problems. In addition, Brianna discusses the significance of religion and argues for greater diversity in the dietetics sector, highlighting the necessity of change.

Brianna Theus, the brainchild behind The Celestial Life and a committed registered dietician in southwest Connecticut. Brianna is a nutrition counselor that specializes in helping people with eating disorders and other medical conditions have a healthy connection with food. The Celestial Life provides personalized baked products, cooking classes, and counseling. After working in residential eating disorder facilities and clinical settings, Brianna realized that treating eating disorder sufferers on an outpatient basis was her true calling. Motivated by the idea that "you are altogether beautiful, my darling. There is no flaw in you" (Song of Songs 4:7), she hopes to restore the joy and connection that come from sharing food.
