The Affirmations for Recovery Podcast
Affirmations for Recovery Podcast - Season Eight Day Seventeen
Discover the power of transformation through recovery as I unpack my personal journey from an underprivileged neighborhood to becoming a beacon of hope for those in similar straits. Witness how recovery became not just a choice but my destiny, and how spirituality, stripped from the confines of religion, has guided me toward leaving a lasting, meaningful legacy. This episode isn't just storytelling—it's about the resonance of finding one's own path, the kind that's less trodden but more fulfilling, and the strength of community in illuminating that route.
This is a candid exploration of life's toughest battles and the affirmation-fueled armor we wear to face them. Embrace the mantra of serenity—accepting the unchangeable, changing the possible, and the wisdom to discern the two. We delve into the concept of gracefully obeying destiny and how, through shared experiences and a community-centric approach, we can support one another in our collective journey towards recovery. It's not about walking in step; it's about walking with purpose. Join me as we navigate the intricacies of recovery, and perhaps find a piece of your own journey reflected in mine.

Day 17,. Affirmationsforrecovery.com. That's the landing page, man, it's all about the subscriber and how can we best serve the subscriber? So today I had a question. I love questions, guys. Questions is how we grow.
00:15
So the question was why recovery? Why did I choose recovery? Oh, man, you got an hour. You got an hour to talk about it. So, on the real recovery chose me.
00:28
Ok, I was going through a lot in my life Mother and father, great, they're still together, great relationship. But I grew up drug affected, right, I lived in a neighborhood where we're underprivileged and underserved, underprivileged and underserved, and recovery was needed, was a needed mission. And when I needed recovery I had no one. I had no one that I can call on. So I decided to be the change that I wanted to see. Because back then, when you think about the 12 steps, you think about NAA those are great programs but there weren't for me and recovery you have to find something that works for you and that's what this is all about. I found something that works and I'm hopefully helping you find your way right.
01:13
So today, day 17, the word of the day is God O-M-G. We are gracefully obeying destiny, because that's what this is about. We're leaving our legacy, we're leaving our mark on this world. I'm not a real religious person. I'm very spiritual, though, because I do believe in a higher power. I believe in the source. I believe that without God, we have nothing, we are lost. People, right, so gracefully obeying destiny, that is what God means to me, outside of what it really means to me, but that is a word that gives me positive meaning to me, right, and that's what this is all about finding positivity in a dark world. Right, so I can accept the things that I cannot change. That is what I want you to remind yourself. It's time to start accepting the things that you cannot change, the courage to change the things that you can. And, man, you got to have the wisdom to know the difference.

Shout out to LIE Foundation nonprofit organization changing lives, changing communities, one community at a time. They're based out of Atlanta, georgia, liefoundation.org. Yes, go there, take a look and share that with somebody. O-w-w-l-l, one of my main sponsors. I really appreciate what they do. That's for today's working entrepreneur. You can find me on OWWLLL. O-w-w-l-l is about the network for me. I use it as a tool. I use it as a networking tool. It's not a get rich quick scheme what it is is. It allows me to meet other people that think like me OK, if you're willing to pay somebody for their time for 10 minutes in increments of 10 minutes for their time, those people are more apt to support you over the long run. So, yes, shout out to you guys.

Today, day 17 talks about God. It talks about accepting the things that we cannot change. Why did I choose recovery? Because I needed it. Recovery chose me. And why should you choose recovery? Because you want to make this world a better place. Yes, I can accept the things that cannot change and I know you guys are like damn, he said that already. But I'm telling you, words have so much power, you got to keep reinforcing it. I tell myself things often. I keep man. I say things seven to 10 times a day. That's in order for it to make it stick to me. Yes, so I want you guys to have a great day on purpose. Remember words have power. There's no more trying aloud. You and you officially in the doers club of America, and all we do here is persevere. Okay, so until next time, take care of yourself, guys, and each other. Let's go.
