Have you ever caught yourself living out the expectations of others, only to feel unfulfilled and lost in the process?

I've been there, and it's a journey to move from that space to one of authenticity and self-belief.

On this episode, I bare my own experiences, detailing the journey I took to realize my self-worth and define my own success.  I highlight the importance of creating your own vision, setting boundaries, and saying no to patterns that don't serve your truth.

We'll journey further, exploring how uncluttering your mind can pave the way to personal achievement. Trust me, acknowledging and dispelling the negativity you've absorbed from others is liberating. The strength you gain from trusting and believing in yourself is immense. I'll share how embracing these constructs led me to my authentic self, achieving my personal goals in the process.

This is more than just a conversation; it's a guide towards self-discovery, confidence, and fulfillment that you surely wouldn't want to miss.

Speaker 1:

You are listening to, this Is Some Crazy Shit. With Sharon Hamner. This podcast is for you if you are tired of living day to day feeling unfulfilled, you are frustrated and you are doing too much with no return. This is for you if you are ready to take charge of your life, if you are ready to let go of managing other people's insecurities and their expectations and live life your way. Here we have dope conversations about saving yourself, so we can get off these street corners and stop waiting for Captain Saviour. Ho. You ready? Let's go, because this is some crazy shit.

Speaker 1:

Why is it that nobody taught us how to live? We have been doing life all wrong. I had this epiphany a couple of months ago, when I realized there were some goals that I had and I wasted a lot of times behaving in a certain way and it wasn't going to get me to the result that I wanted, just because I did not know that there was another way to live my life in that area. We have been programmed by our parents, our grandparents, teachers, everyone around us to live a life according to their expectations of us, which are based on their expectations from whoever raised them or what they didn't achieve in life what fears that they had have and they have ultimately pushed those onto us and we are having a hard time getting the things that we want because we're living by other people's insecurities. I'm here to tell you that you can have everything that you desire. You can and live your life according to how you want to live. It's kind of crazy when you look at nature, because you look at the birds and all the animals and they do everything that they came here, that they were designed to do. And we, as human beings, we have the highest faculty of our brains and our thoughts and we don't really exercise that muscle to help us to get the things that we want. And that's why I created this space, so that I can have conversations with women, as I do day to day behind the chair, on ways that it can get the things that they want, because it is so frustrating when you are given to your family, you're given to your significant others, you're doing your best at your job and you don't feel like you're being rewarded. You're not getting the love back that you feel like you deserve, you're not getting the raise that you feel that you deserve, and it's draining and it's overwhelming because you feel like you're doing the right thing by doing what's expected of you, but it's like what is the point of it when you're not getting the things that you want? And why is that you're not getting the things that you want? Is it because we're not really in the right lane that we're supposed to be in? Is it because we're not believing in ourselves enough? Is it because we're not having enough confidence in ourselves to ask for what we want? Is it because we're not setting boundaries and people don't respect us because we're not using our voice to set those boundaries and voice our opinions of the things that we want in a manner that is healthy?

Speaker 1:

I know a lot of times in the past I have felt a lot of frustration when relating to, and particularly my mom, because we would go back and forth, back and forth, and I just felt like she was not hearing me at all, and even though I would try to have a healthy dialogue, a conversation with her, I ended up blowing up a lot of times because I didn't feel like I was being heard and that my opinion didn't matter, and so eventually I began to just shut down and not voice my opinion and just go day to day to day, just living life. But I wasn't really living, because every day I just wanted to escape this earth because I wasn't being fulfilled, because nobody was listening to me. And it wasn't until I was able to identify how to express myself confidently, how to walk in confidence, that my life began to change, and it did not take a long time for me to start seeing results. And I want the same thing for you, and that comes with just having a vision for your life and for yourself, and I know that is possible If I can do it. It's definitely possible.

Speaker 1:

Some of the things that I had to identify in my life was the stories that were said about me that I chose to believe. Those stories had a negative impact on my life and caused me to stay stuck. One thing in particular that I do remember is people would ask me to do things, and because I didn't want to do that, they labeled me as being selfish, and that made me feel guilty, because I do want to help people, but not at the sake of doing something that I don't get joy in doing, or doing something, or giving you my purse because you asked for my purse. No, I felt like I should have a choice. But by people labeling me as being selfish, I felt like that was something about me that I needed to change.

Speaker 1:

And then come to find out that there's nothing wrong with saying no and having boundaries, and I really want you to know that everything about you is right. Everything about you is right, the thoughts that you have about yourself is right, and nobody can ever tell you who you are, because you know who you are deep inside. So don't ever let somebody's opinion of yourself override the opinion that you have of yourself, because that is the most important thing is what you believe about yourself and what you know about yourself, and what other people say that shit doesn't even matter. It doesn't even matter. So, being strong and knowing who you are.

Speaker 1:

But to know who you are, you have to take the time to get to know yourself and give yourself the opportunity to have a period of time with yourself so that you can clear out the clutter in your mind and the negativity that has come from other people, because it's deep down inside of you and, even though it may not come up every day, a lot of the things are living down and has in our cellular memory and have been passed on from generations to generations, and so you got to wipe that slate clean and go for your goals.

Speaker 1:

But the most important thing is for you to trust yourself and to know that who you are as a person, what you're capable of and you can do anything that you want to do. You just have to believe in yourself. That is the highest thing, is to believe in yourself and having the love for yourself to be able to experience everything that you want in your life, because everything is possible for you when you know who the fuck you are and walking that every single day, wake up every single day knowing that, okay, I got to get this done. I'm this type of person and having a mantra for yourself it can help you get to your results that you want. I look forward to seeing you in these social media streets.
