The Poet & The People is a space for influential artists, creatives, activists and community advocates and people on the edge of Saint Louis culture. The Poet & The People podcast will bring about intimate conversation around creativity, art, social issues and authenticity with people who make Saint Louis culture what it is today. Hosted by Gregory Maurice, poet and creative, he will take you through a series of interviews with people that he has come across in some capacity of the arts or community.

Mk Stallings: 50 years of Hip-hop + STL Poetry Community + Regional Arts Commission
Cultivator, sociologist and long time mentor and friend Mk Stallings, sits down with Gregory Maurice for a conversation that spans from Hiphop to having 3 growing children. Mk shared a story of the time he made an album with his older brother after participating in Christian hip-hop for a while. The conversation leads to history on Legacy’s Books and Cafe that lead to growth in the poetry community to reestablishing The Saint Louis Poetry Slam and further talked about his work with art and culture nonprofit.
