Sensitive Content Warning: in this episode, we talk about difficult topics such as stillborn babies and infant loss. Please be mindful and gentle with yourself before hitting play.

Welcome back to The Rebel Maker Podcast. Today, I have Autumn Cohen as my guest. Autumn is the mother of two living daughters and a stillborn son born in March, 2020. Early 2023 she released a baby loss journal for parents like herself called In Memory Of You. And just in time for Christmas, she and her husband have written a children’s book for grief and loss called Eden and Ellie’s Christmas is Not the Same.

In this episode, we talked a lot about grief and infant loss. But we also discussed the book publishing process, how to know if a publisher is the right fit for you, and overcoming imposter syndrome.

In this episode:

  • [03:50] Coping with the grief of a stillborn baby
  • [06:39] The In Memory of You Journal
  • [08:43] Involving your community in the writing process
  • [09:59] Dealing with loss over the holidays
  • [13:33] Navigating the publishing process and overcoming imposter syndrome
  • [20:36] When to reach out to a publisher
  • [25:59] How to know if a publisher is the right fit for you
