Speaker 1:

Hello out there and welcome to the Good Neighbor podcast. I am your co-host, Mike Sedita. I'm joined by my fellow co-host, Parita Patel. Parita, how are you doing today?

Speaker 2:

Hi, mike, doing great, thank you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you so much for being on. Guys Parita is a health insurance expert. She's based here in Tampa, florida. She is here to help educate you a little bit about the various things that go on with health insurance at this time of year when it's so crazy with open enrollment and changing your plans and we wanna ask today, the big question is why are some plans cheaper than other plans?

Speaker 2:

You know, mike, I think all things in life you get what you pay for. You know that's like asking what's the difference between Walmart versus Target, homegoods versus Create and Barrel right. The quality of what you're gonna get. It matters in your health insurance as well, and the cheaper those prices are, the less likely they're actually gonna protect you. God forbid something happens to you, you know. So if you're gonna pay for something, make sure you're reading the fine print. These days, anybody can go online and throw something out there and say that this is gonna protect you for X, y and Z, but some plans you'll see on the website. It even says this is not real health insurance. Legally we are not mandated to protect you, but then it sounds really great the way it's being pitched to you. You know, if you've ever heard of something like a health share plan, a lot of them are tied to religious places as well Christian ministry plans. They are not real health insurance. So if you get a claim something happens to you, you don't know if you can count on that.

Speaker 1:

So why?

Speaker 2:

are some things a lot more cheaper, it's because they're not really gonna protect you if they have to. So read the fine print.

Speaker 1:

So the big thing I'm hearing you say is you know, do your research and you get what you pay for. And if people go to pareedahealthcom, they could set up an appointment with you. That takes 30 minutes. They can give you the details of what's going on with them. They don't have to fight through the spam calls and all those other things. They're going directly to an expert and they're gonna find out what plans to you're gonna help them navigate. What is the right plan for their needs, correct?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely.

Speaker 1:
