Speaker 1:

Welcome to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Podcast, where, if there's any delay, it's you we pay. Here's your host and owner of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Port St Lucie, matt Black.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back everybody. Marfield Bowen, co-host, slash producer, to show here back in the studio with Matt Black. Matt, how are you doing today?

Speaker 3:

Doing great today.

Speaker 2:

Listen, I got a funny question for you, you know I mean, and I got to ask you because I don't know the answer why does my shower drain smell?

Speaker 3:

Well, there could be a couple reasons for that, Depending if it's in your guest bathroom that doesn't get used that often, sometimes the tub and shower drains, or the shower drains or even the lav sinks. The trap will dry up and once the water is below the level of the trap, then sewer gases will be able to come back into the home and then you'll start to be able to smell that especially like when the air conditioner kicks on. It can suck some of the gases up in there and spread it throughout the home. So that's one reason. The other reason can just be build up. You get hair and soap and scum all build up in the drains and sometimes it just needs to be cleaned out.

Speaker 3:

We have a product called Bio-Bin and that goes in and helps get rid of the smell and also eats up any of the grease or any of the gunk that's stuck to the side of the pipes. It's more of a preventative maintenance. It's not like a acid base that you would see that is very, you know, harmful. Ours is bio-friendly and you put it down there to prevent the future build up and the future growth, unlike it's not when you put it down there to try to make the drain become clean, you know immediately, Not for that.

Speaker 2:

Wow, I mean, I guess that could be frightening, huh.

Speaker 3:

Well, it's not good when you're smelling those smells, that's for sure.

Speaker 2:

Especially, you got ladies and kids and it could be a nightmare.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Listen, you nailed it again. Matt Love it. You have a wonderful day. See you in the next episode, All right.

Speaker 3:

Looking forward to it, have a good day.
