Tune in to uncover the secrets of this high pressure cleaning method. Welcome back everyone. This is Garfield Bowen, co-host slash producer. Back in the studio with Matt Black. Matt, how you doing.

Speaker 3:

I've been a busy day today. How about you?

Speaker 2:

I'm doing good. I'm doing good. Today's been a good day for me. So, matt, what does drain hydro jetting entail?

Speaker 3:

We have a hydro jetting equipment that we put down your drains to be able to clean any buildup that's on the inside of the drains. The best way I can explain it is kind of like you pressure wash your house, you pressure wash your driveway. Well, this is pressure washing your drain lines.

Speaker 2:

What are some of the benefits?

Speaker 3:

of the benefits. Well, if you have all the excuse me, if you have all the buildup that's inside the pipes, you have grease or you have any kind of um you know matter that builds up in there, then the paper and other uh debris will clog and catch on those and cause clogs. So if we can clean it out, then your drain is going to flow a whole lot smoother and you're going to be less likely to have clogs. Also, sometimes you don't know that you've got a problem with your drain. The buildup is covering what could be an imperfection in the drain. There could be a crack in the drain, there could be a fitting that's not glued properly inside the drain, but all of the buildup covers that up. So once we clean it out and then we can go back in with a camera and scope the line Now we're able to see if you have any imperfections or any problems with the line that you're able to address.

Speaker 2:

What is the liquid that's actually being pushed through this hydro jetting system?

Speaker 3:

It's just high pressure water, just a high pressure water.

Speaker 2:

So I guess that's better than all that chemicals that they put in there too, right?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, depending what kind of system you're on. Let's say you're on a septic system. You don't want to put a whole bunch of bleach and chlorine in there, because now you're going to kill the active and good bacterias because you've just overloaded the system with all these chemicals.

Speaker 2:

So we just use a regular high pressure water to be able to clean it up. And what about, like preventive maintenance? Is that a good method of, you know, getting that surprise? You know you may have that sink that may go down a little slow but it's going, and you wait for that day.

Speaker 3:

When you know it's Thanksgiving Christmas, you got family over and then Well, you got to clean it to be able to do preventative maintenance. There's a lot of products out on the market. We have one called BioBin and you put that down your drain. It's an active enzyme and it will eat the waste away. But it does it over a slow period of time and if you have a lot of buildup on the drains, this active enzyme that is, you know, completely safe it will start eating the waste and it, as it eats the waste, it multiplies. Well, if you don't clean the drain first and you use products like this, then all of a sudden the sludge and the buildup on top of the pipe will start falling into the bottom of the pipe and it's going to cause you to have more backups and more stoppages. So you want to go in first, hydrojet, clean out the line, then you use this preventative maintenance and it prevents it from building backup in the future, as long as you use it the way it's recommended.

Speaker 2:

Drain, hydrojetting Good stuff. Love it, matt. We'll see you in the next episode. You have a wonderful day.

Speaker 3:

You as well. Thanks for having me.
