Trina:

Hello everyone, welcome to T3 Training Together on Tuesdays. My name is Trina and with me are Faye, Jaymee and Nicole, and we're here to share about all things training tips and tools. Hello, good morning. So for this episode we're going to talk about the Kaleidoscope Life. There you go. So our episode is called Kaleidoscope Life because usually we're three right, but now we're four, the more the many-er. Yes, very Kaleidoscope. Oh, we were mentioning earlier, when we were preparing for this episode, we needed to do a little research because we used term to use the Kaleidoscope Life. So before we start our discussion in true training fashion, let's define the terms first. So I'm asking you, what do you think when you hear the word Kaleidoscope?

Jaymee:

This is the scope you use to describe it. You use it to describe it in a different way Glass, different color glasses, and when you lift the scope, you also shift the glasses inside to create a different design every time. Is that?

Trina:

right, exactly.

Jaymee:

Yeah, prepared, prepared, researched, like that?

Trina:

How about Nicole and Faye? Do you what it is? Did you do your research?

Faye:

So Kaleidoscope it's multicolored right it's multi-faceted.

Trina:

So you see a lot of colors patterns. Did you also experience this, Nicole?

Nicole:

Yes, of course I had that during my childhood.

Trina:

Yeah, because I was thinking, maybe it's just during our time.

Nicole:

I'm just excited about what you see inside.

Jaymee:

So you need to research because it's been a long time.

Trina:

Before. I remember when I got the kaleidoscope, it was like a new thing for me as a kid. But that's right, the kaleidoscope is basically a toy, right, it's just spinning and there's you're always seeing different patterns, so it's actually a visual spectacle. And oftentimes kaleidoscope is not only a toy, but it's also used as a metaphor for life. So, compared to life, especially life experiences of people, humans definitely are very rich and complex individuals, so sometimes, like kaleidoscope, you think it's not just a pattern or colors or shapes or forms that you see in a person. You can see a lot more. You need to turn, so to speak, the kaleidoscope. So, let me ask you, ladies, how is your life like a kaleidoscope?

Jaymee:

Okay, I'll go first. My life is like a kaleidoscope because, of course, we're wearing many different hats. So I was an HR practitioner, consultant, and I also did live selling during the pandemic. So the peg was like a mom-preneur during the pandemic and then, of course, I was a designer, facilitator and at the same time, when I'm home, I was a full-time housewife the PEG and then I was a mom. So a lot of things were done like kaleidoscopes right. Every time you shift, every time you go to other places, the role you're doing is different, so your focus should be on that. If what you're doing or where you're at, your focus should be on the best as a HR consultant or as a facilitator. So that's how my PEG is like in my kaleidoscope life there.

Faye:

So I'll go next For me, my kaleidoscope life. Well, right now I'm a businesswoman, I am a program developer, I'm a training developer Sometimes I conduct training, and but what makes it different is that I'm also a band singer. So, and it's almost a full-time job as well, because it's almost a rainy day, especially during events what else? Even before this I used to be. Before I was also a band singer. I also did media what do you call this? I forgot the specific title, but I used to work in the media as well, yeah, and so I juggle stuff. You know, just like what Jamie mentioned earlier, it's more of like a shape shift. So once you're done with this role, you shift to another role and you give equally your best in each role. There. That's my kaleidoscope life.

Nicole:

For me, kaleidoscope life. Technically, right now I'm a full-time corporate slave, but I've also done multiple career shifts then Full-time slave, but different lenses. That's the training, that's the media, as well as a writer. Now I'm in the bilingual BPO industry, but either way, they all kind of blend together into one big career. As a corporate slave, I'm using each skill at certain points, but I think what I learned to add to my kaleidoscope life is also rest, the things that really make time for your hobbies. Just as much as you focus on one job or role at a time, you also really have to schedule in your day not just the sleep or the skincare, but also the vacations, the doing volunteer work or the unrelated things in my case, anime. So that makes life more colorful. I have an adventure to go home, so I'll go back to work, I think it helps us.

Faye:

I mean, it helps others see the other side of us. You can't do that Like on my end. When they find out that I'm in the band I sing, usually because of my training. I'm serious. With my friends I'm very different, but in training they think I'm too serious, I'm just there in the back. Then when I talk to clients they think you're negotiating, so the thing is very serious. So it's like the eyes are breaking when they know what they're doing.

Faye:

And then at the same time I also get to change their perspective on the lives of people in the music industry, because their impression is that they don't see much of it. So I help promote that, change their perspective. Actually, no, you can actually make a full-time job out of this and depending on where you will be, depending on which group you will be joining, you can actually earn as much as what people in the corporate world are earning for less the time, Plus it's more fun. So I get to change also that kind of perspective. So, yeah, that's how it helps me and the other people around me.

Jaymee:

Yes, yes, I agree, Because I think that life is beautiful, Like when you look through the kaleidoscope every time the glass is shifted it creates something beautiful. So it's ever changing. I realize that life is beautiful. It only depends on how we see it, or what we see. So there are times when we're feeling down and out and the color of the kaleidoscope is not good for us. But once we shift our perspective, it will change. So we're just limiting ourselves to how we will view our things in our own way and how we create a change or accept the change that's happening to us. So that's how it's, just like that. There are bad days, there are good days, but we will also be able to make changes in our lives.

Nicole:

For me. I think it helps me in terms of career innovation. I have skills from previous careers that I can apply to the current one, so of course, you can promote me because I have additional skills. I didn't know you could do that. Yes, yes, I can. So it helps me in that way. And, of course, it helps my teammates if they suddenly need someone of that skill. And, more importantly, it's not just about skills, but it really helps you take inspiration from outside your industry. Take inspiration from other places outside of your job, so that you can come up with something new. And in the opposite sense, whatever I learn from work I also apply in life, like how to be organized and how to manage time. So they all blend really well together. It's just about you and how you choose to put your lenses together.

Trina:

Exactly. Our lives are full. People's lives are full of different aspects, for example, diamonds. When you turn it, you see different things, and so that's what Nicole said it makes life less boring and really more interesting, and we're gifted with so much potential. There are so many things that can be developed from us, and that's not just in terms of roles in life. We can also see our whole entirety of our lives as different kaleidoscopes In our lives, like pre, for instance, when we were kids.

Trina:

It's different, so it's a matter of things changing. So let me ask you also what advice or are you talking about? How does viewing your life from the perspective that it's a kaleidoscope, how does that help yourself and how does that help others? Also, how does it benefit you and others?

Jaymee:

also, of course, I relate to that Because I have a lot of fears. I must admit, as Trina said, I have a tendency to be comfortable in a situation I don't want to go out there. When I'm secured here, I don't want to try out other things anymore Because I might fail there. I think that's what I'm thinking. So, of course, because you have to adapt to the times, like the pandemic, when there's no work, no training, so you have to find other means to still have something to do. So I went online selling or I sold food just to try out other things. Because, even if that's not my comfort zone, I was forced to come out of my shell or comfort zone just because there's need. So if I need help or else I'm stuck there, nothing happens in my life.

Trina:

Exactly. It's very interesting Because there's so much that people can give of themselves. Usually, when they're set up, they just stay in their own lane. They just tend to stay in their own lane, and sometimes they only limit themselves to what they think they are and who they are, without thinking they're actually the kaleidoscope. I'm thinking of another metaphor it's like the Swiss Army knife you have a lot of tools that you can provide, not just one. So you can put a lot of effort, because I'm sure there are a lot of people who just prefer to stay in their own lane for whatever reason. Sometimes they just out of fear or whatever. They just don't want to move out of their comfort zone. What advice can you give to those who have not yet explored the kaleidoscope of their lives? What advice can you give to them or suggest?

Faye:

I have a good advice If you're young, you take advantage of your youth. You're still strong and you still have a lot of time. Don't be afraid to take risks. I think it's also because there is a reason why I'm so worried. I cannot pursue this. It's because we're still young. We're telling ourselves not to shift our course because you might not be able to finish it. I want to be a conservator of music. I'm not going to pursue this. I'm not going to succeed in life. I'm not going to pursue this because it's just a hobby. I have advice for those who are not taking risks If you don't have a scorecard, you'll only score your life.

Faye:

I was late when I entered the band scene. I was 38 years old. I remember that moment when I started to sing. Usually, teenagers would retire earlier. I took the risk. I know that I've always wanted to sing. I've never had this opportunity. I'm not confident to sing in front of many people. I've never been a member of any band at all. When the opportunity came, my deciding factor was that if I lost this opportunity would come again.

Faye:

Given my age, I'm not going to be able to sing anymore. The age of music industry is very high. I'm not going to be able to sing anymore. I'm not going to be able to sing anymore. So in the meantime, this training, even though I'm still a gritar, I can work behind the scenes. So that's what I became this one. I can work on this, even though I'm not presentable, even though I'm doing ring-kills and all that. I can do. This, I'll do this. I'll take the risk of having limitations. So that's my advice to them Check them out. If they can't do it at a later part of their lives. If they want to do it, do it. You take that opportunity. You grab that chance.

Nicole:

It doesn't have to feel scary to change, because it's not going to happen overnight, but at the same time you have to start somewhere. So my mindset is that in the seven days of a week, a lot one day to change, doing something you're not comfortable with yet If you're not a TGIF, it's Friday Do something different on Friday. You have to give it time and effort. A hobby that maybe you're starting. You're not sure if it's going to be a long-term commitment, but why not Just give it time and then one day, if you have high courage, you'll feel that I can go further with this. It's not too late because I started already. So it's never too late to start something new and you really have to set a certain space for it in your life, otherwise you're going to be stuck where you are.

Trina:

Exactly. I so agree Especially with Faye. We're famous. At a young age, I really experienced what she said and that's what you said Never too late to start something new every day. It's always a fresh start, no matter what age you are, and that's it Bye. When you think about it, even if you get older like what you said ageism or something you tend to think that you are limited by opportunities. But I think there has to be a certain openness. There will always be opportunities. We just need to be able to be willing to take on those opportunities, no matter what our perspectives are regarding those opportunities, and that's why it's so sad.

Faye:

I'll just add something also. It reminds me of Nicole, the mention about change. What is the title of this on the netflix? It's about the nature. If you look at nature, what would survive are those who are the species capable of change the ability to survive on the flow, the ability to shape, shift, the ability to adjust. So on our end we have a multifaceted. So let's not be afraid of that change. We'll never know what. We'll become more well rounded. We have more perspectives than we've seen before because we were boxed in this particular world. But going outside, we have more perspectives than we've seen before. It makes us a better person. We'll be more empathic towards them.

Jaymee:

I also have a question. We tend to focus on the negative. When we're just looking at the negative, we limit ourselves to grow. Like Nicole said, you just have to shift your perspective or lens to look at the brighter side of things. Even if it's small stuff or petty stuff, if you look at the positive aspect of it, it helps you grow. For me, that's the change. You just have to give yourself time to experience new things. So if there are things that's weighing you down, you'll disregard that and focus on the stuff that will help you succeed.

Nicole:

Change can be beautiful because, as they say, we always focus on what if it goes wrong? What if it doesn't turn out? Okay, what if it goes? Great, you'd be so much happier trying. Nothing is ever set in stone, but you'd be so happy for trying, because it turned out even better than you thought it would you are living, breathing proof of that.

Jaymee:

What other tips can we share, aside from the ones that we mentioned, to those people who haven't seen their lives like we're seeing it right now? They're still a little confused. They can't accept the changes in their lives.

Faye:

Honestly, I don't want to judge those people who would like to stay where they are. I have friends who are like that. I've had a lot of things happen in my life but they're still one company. I don't judge them because I think on their part, one of their values is that they want stability. That's why I mentioned earlier if you're young, you can take risks and just think about the stability later, because you have a lot of time. And I also advise those people who are our age again. I was 38 when I got into the pan scene and so far I feel I'm thriving in that scene. So there's no age. There's a little break down of that age. There's still definitely, but because there are a lot of people our age who are fighting age, we're proving to people that age doesn't matter, it's just a number. In fact, when you're called to that age, what's your level?

Nicole:

Yes, it's a high level.

Trina:

What's your?

Faye:

level. I think as we progress, you become more powerful. Don't be afraid to, because I know a lot of people who like this. They're afraid of it and I think it's because of the financial aspect.

Trina:

Yes, it's stable in work.

Faye:

But the practical aspect, like, for example, I have a friend who wants to lose their health care, who wants to lose his six digits of health care. So that's his concern and my advice to him is you know what. You don't have to choose between the two, you can do both. Why do you need to choose? You can do both. It's just a matter of you know the more time. So if you feel, okay, this one. It's not really possible that I'm just a part-time person. I don't like it. You can just manage your time. I think you can do the other one as a hobby. Try to do a little bit. It doesn't have to be that. You can introduce change slowly in your life. It doesn't have to be one big grand change. So that's my advice for those who are afraid to take the challenge. I'm so excited.

Jaymee:

I'm so excited. The bottom of the line. Ma'am, Do you want to share?

Trina:

Yes, I mean, actually I'm already excited about this episode because you shared a lot.

Faye:

Why am I so excited about Trina?

Jaymee:

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. I've heard a lot about her.

Faye:

She did what we did before the one week.

Trina:

Yes, I'm already excited to go out and watch you. I guess the bottom line is just to never be afraid of exploring the kaleidoscope that is our lives. It's enriching not only to us but to others as well. I don't see any loss in it. There's always something of value. A loss can be something that you may perceive for now, but in the long run, ultimately everything will benefit. So we encourage people our listeners to also explore and reflect on their lives and see what they can explore in their lives to be very colorful then, just like a kaleidoscope their experiences.

Faye:

It's also good for the mental health. There are many side of you that you fulfill, so it's also good for the mental health.

Jaymee:

True, and Marie Kondo said if it doesn't spark joy, let go of it. Yes, if it does find something that will inspire you, so go for it. I hope you'll have a strong inside, like Faye, that you'll explore.

Nicole:

That's right. It's a rocket outside work and it helps you prevent yourself from becoming a full-time work slave. I have something else as a priority, so I'll go first.

Jaymee:

Who got it? Who got it? Corporate slave?

Faye:

You have a lot of people. I have friends called Hannah Montana.

Trina:

Exactly.

Faye:

The best of both worlds.

Trina:

Yes.

Jaymee:

There are two lives.

Faye:

It's fun. It's tiring sometimes, but the burden is more on the physical side Because physically demanding. But this is something that I don't regret and I think if I didn't experience that opportunity when it was given to me, that would be my biggest regret. Again, it's good for the mental health. So you want me to bucket list you bucket list the check. Check.

Nicole:

Yes, clear all the life levels.

Trina:
