Welcome to another episode of Unleash your Inner Radiance with me, lisa, your Catalyst, life, wellness and Transformation Coach. I am so thrilled to have you join me for today's episode of Mindset Monday. Grab your favorite cup of coffee, settle in and let's dive into a topic that's close to my heart the power of self-compassion. Let's start with a beautiful affirmation. A moment of self-compassion let's start with a beautiful affirmation A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life. Now, let me repeat that, because it's an affirmation, but it's not really an affirmation, but I want you guys to really think about what it says. A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life. This simple yet profound statement is such a reminder of the transformative power of being kind to ourselves, having you be kind to yourself. So self-compassion is often really truly the missing piece of our quest. Um, it's, it's been a huge missing piece in my quest for personal growth and transformation, and I truly believe that it is a missing piece in a lot of people's lives. So we are, because we are so head set on being our harshest critics and we forget to be our own best friends. Imagine how different your life could be if you treated yourself with the same kindness and understanding and compassion that you offer to other people. It is time for us to embrace self-compassion and allow it to be the foundation of our journeys. I want this for everybody. It's in our fast-paced world and I know that there are so many things that are juggling. People are juggling right now.

Speaker 1:

It's really easy to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle, in the news, in the everything that we often neglect our own needs and our own well-being. We push ourselves to the limit, striving for perfection, which is not a really good thing, and when we fall short because we inevitably do that, because perfectionism is not a good thing for us but when we fall short, what do we do? What do we say to ourselves? How do we berate ourselves? Right, because I know I still do those things to myself. But what if we approached all of these moments with self-compassion instead and kind of like flipping what we say to ourselves? What if we acknowledged our efforts? Because, in order to fall and neglect ourselves, we've made an effort, just not the full effort that we need. We're making efforts in other parts of our lives, but we're not making efforts in the part of our lives where we're taking care of ourselves.

Speaker 1:

So what we need to do is we need to acknowledge our efforts and if you're making efforts every day, forgive yourself for the mistakes. Forgive yourself for you're not, you know, moving as fast as you think you should in whatever journey you're on. But we need to celebrate our progress. We need to celebrate even the little things you know. If you write three things down to do each day and you do those things, that should be celebrated, if you write three things down where you're going to practice self-compassion towards yourself, that should be checked off, and then you're making progress right, this shift in our mindset can bring about profound changes in our mental and emotional well-being, and we all need that.

Speaker 1:

There are too many outside factors that are keeping us stuck in the spot that we're in. We need to take care of ourselves. We need self-compassion and we need to forgive ourselves, because self-compassion really, truly isn't about letting ourselves off the hook or making excuses for ourselves. It's about recognizing our humanity and our understanding that everybody makes mistakes, everybody faces challenges. Everybody does. I know that sometimes I feel like I have definitely faced my share of challenges, which is why it's probably been so difficult on my journey. But by practicing the self-compassion what we do is we cultivate our resilience and resilience is important and we develop a more balanced perspective on our experiences. We kind of rewrite our story. So what all this does in turn is it empowers us so that we're stronger and we can then navigate our life's ups and downs with grace and strength, which, you know, if I had self-compassion a long time ago, I would have navigated my journey a whole different way. But as we embark on this journey of self-compassion, I really want you guys to remember that it is not a destination. It is not. It is a journey, and I've been on the journey for a long time and I want to take you guys on the journey too, because it is so worth it.

Speaker 1:

All we need to do is we need to start small, by just being mindful about our inner dialogue. What are we saying to ourselves? Because if you keep saying negative stuff to yourself, that's what's holding you back. If you flip it to a positive and you retrain your mind, you're going to retrain your inner dialogue. You're going to retrain your inner dialogue. So when you catch yourself being self-critical. Pause and think of what you just said to yourself and replace those harsh words with nice ones, with gentler ones. Remind yourself that you are doing your absolute best. I think you are doing your absolute best. I think you are doing your absolute best and it is okay to make mistakes, because over time, all these practices and moments of self-compassion, they'll accumulate and it'll create like a ripple effect that positively impacts every, every aspect of your life.

Speaker 1:

So, if you look at your, if you make a list of things that you say to yourself or things that you don't want in your life right and you write things that you do want in your life, and every time you say one of those things, you flip it to the other side and you talk about it and you think, oh, I'm gonna, I want this, I want this in my life. I don't want that in my life. You're not focusing on what you don't want in your life. You're focusing on what you do want in your life. And that's how you want to focus, because you want to impact your life positively, right, you want to focus on what you want. You want to focus on the changes that you want to see in yourself in the future. So let's talk about doing that and causing not only a ripple in yourself, but causing a ripple in everyone you meet, because if you are more compassionate and you practice more self compassion with yourself, how do you think you're going to portray yourself to everybody around you? It's going to be all way more positive, right? So I have some. Now that we can end that up.

I have a series of interviews lined up with really inspiring guests that are going to share some stories and insights on various aspects of personal growth, wellness and transformation, and I'm really excited to be recording those in the next month Actually, this month, because it's almost July, right and I'm going to have some experts in mindfulness and meditation, leaders to just different things and different conversations, and I'm hoping that all of these I know that all these conversations are going to provide you guys with such valuable tools and inspiration. So I want you guys to continue on your journey of unleashing your inner radiance. So be sure to tune in, because you don't want to miss any of these incredible episodes that are going to be coming in July.
