GB potatoes was created in 2022, following the demise of AHDB Potatoes. The purpose was to tackle problems within the industry by bringing together the supply chain to collaborate on matters that are key priorities for the sector.
Just this month, the group announced AHDB will be asking Ministers if the residual potato levy funds can support seven industry projects, through a grant to GB Potatoes. This includes potato blight, aphid monitoring, management tools to tackle viruses, reputational management, bridging the information gap, CPIP residue monitoring and updating nutrient management.
