Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the Pure Possibilities podcast. I decided that it's time to wrap up the mini series that ended up not being so mini. Where do I begin? So today is the finale, and one of the most important things that I want to leave you with is how incredibly important it is to connect to yourself and to make yourself a priority in your life. When we can get ourselves into alignment with our head and our heart and do the things that make us feel good, it changes everything, and for some reason, people seem to be resistant to feeling good. It's like, oh my gosh, you can't ask me to do that, I don't deserve to feel good, or there's no reason, or there's so many things that people say, but why wouldn't you want to feel good? So I ask that you just take a moment every day, a few minutes every day, to connect with yourself and find the things that make you feel good. Pull out your feel good list, look around you and stay present in the moment and allow yourself to see the beauty in the day.

Speaker 1:

And sometimes it's hard. I'm going to be honest. I've had a bit of a rough week, energetically speaking. I've had a lot of ups and downs this last week and I'm so grateful that I surround myself with amazing people who are very supportive. I am grateful that I have tools to help myself when I fall into the depths, because I have things that happen in my life every day. I mean, some days are easy-breathy, no problem, but there are definitely days that are not great. I create moments in the day or I allow myself to see and feel the magic in the day, even if it's just for a moment. You are important and your life is important, and whatever you can do to connect with yourself, whether it's meditating or going for a walk or just breathing intentionally breathing to quiet your mind not necessarily quiet your mind, because I know that that's a trigger for people, but they're like I can't turn off my mind. You don't need to turn off your mind. Just connecting to yourself. What makes you feel good, what do you enjoy doing? How well do you know yourself those are all just so important. I hope you found some tips that were helpful for you. I mean, obviously, everything that works for me isn't necessarily going to work for you, but hopefully you've had the opportunity to maybe try a few things.

Speaker 1:

The alarms this week for me have saved me on several occasions where I've been in the moment of something and I'm like and I just take a deep breath and I glance at my alarm and it says how sexy and fierce you want to be. I'm like I love that and it just puts a smile on my face. Or what if I allow the universe to surprise and delight me and most of the time it does. At some point in every day on this journey, be kind and loving and compassionate to yourself, just as you are to your friends and your family. Do that for you, too, because you deserve it and you matter and you're important. I wanted to do a little recap of a few of the days and maybe add a couple extra little nuggets for you for each of the topics that I went over.

Speaker 1:

So the first day I talked about getting radically honest with yourself, and I feel like we know when it's time for something to shift or when we want something different and, honestly, we usually feel it in our body. Something doesn't feel right or you just look around and you're like this isn't the life that I want and so, remembering that you do have choices and that you can change things, you may not necessarily right now be able to shift everything in your life that you want to change. But what if there's just one thing that you could do? That's maybe a little bit different? That would help you feel a little bit better. But when we're getting radically honest with ourselves, it really goes back to you. Literally take yourself with you wherever you go, and so if you're not focusing on what's going on within you, it's not going to matter that you change what's going on outside of you. And so really getting in tune with yourself, getting to know yourself, it really comes down to being honest with ourselves and honoring how we feel about things, whatever our situation is. That's going on in our life. And because we do take ourselves with us, we take ourselves with us when we move, when we end relationships, and, like the example I had given, I had in relationships and marriages that continued to not work out, and I was like, oh, I should probably own part of this and figure out what's going on with me as to why I'm not able to maintain these relationships. And until I did that and also worked through forgiving myself for various things, it was difficult because I didn't realize that that was what the problem was, but I just kept looking outside of myself for my happiness, and it truly truly does come from within.

Speaker 1:

So day two we talked about the Feel Good List. I hope you've had an opportunity to create your own and give it a try, and hopefully that's working out for you. I think it's really helpful to not necessarily have a long list of things that cost money to do, but just the small things that you can do on a daily basis to help yourself feel better, whether it's being proactive or even reactive. If you have things on your list every day that you do that you know are going to make you feel good and raise your energy, then do those things and then also have a backup plan of things that you can do when something goes awry in the middle of your day.

Speaker 1:

Day three we talked about the what-if questions, and I do have those programmed in my phone. Some of them are what-if questions and some of them are just lovely statements that I look at when my alarm goes off throughout the day to create those momentary pauses to kind of center myself with whatever is going on in the day. But the power behind the what-if is that it puts you into a state of curiosity rather than an I am statement is going to confuse your logical mind. So when you're in a state of curiosity and you just ask, like, what if that were to happen? Then there's less attachment to it.

Speaker 1:

Day four we talked about the magic and the pleasure in the micro moments in the day, and when that hit me a few weeks ago I was just like, oh my gosh, this is what it's all about. It is truly about the magic and the pleasure in the micro moments of every day, and when you can really become present in each moment throughout your day, it's pretty incredible. Let's say, you're I was going to say washing your dishes, but I feel like a lot of people do that in their dishwasher. But even washing your hands let's use washing your hands as an example You've got the soap in your hand and you're running it under the water and just feeling it and that sensation. Or when you take that first sip of coffee and really, just truly, truly enjoying it in the morning, when you wake up, or whenever you enjoy coffee if you drink coffee or whatever your beverage of choice is you know even that first bite of food. Or walking outside and smelling the fresh air, looking around at the trees and the clouds and the sun and how your clothes feel on your body when you're putting them on, just sensing every moment of every single day and just staying present, not worrying about the past, not worrying about the future, and just really staying in the now, and that's really where the magic is.

Speaker 1:

Day five we talked about creating happiness within ourselves and not looking outside of ourselves. For that, in hindsight, I found that that was one of the things that I really struggled with was relying on other people to make me happy, and then people left my life and I wasn't happy, and so if you can not put that burden of responsibility on other people and not have the people in your life have that responsibility on you, it's kind of draining if somebody expects you to do everything to keep them happy or make them happy. So when we can find that within ourselves and not saying that you don't need to have connections with people like we obviously want, and that's like human need is connection, but dependency on someone to make you happy is a very, very different thing. Day six we talked about that was Groundhog Day, and we talked about changing it up and getting out of your daily routine. I know that when I get into that daily grind of I get up, I get ready for work, I go to work, I come home and make dinner and you just do the same thing every single day, over and over and over again. It gets exhausting. It's physically and mentally exhausting. And so when you can change certain things up like I said, even the way you drive to work, or I don't know what you're eating for dinner or whatever whatever you can do to change things up in your day, it really can help.

Speaker 1:

Day seven we talked about celebrating our victories. It seems like people often focus so much on all the things they didn't get done, or the things that they didn't do and all the things they have left on their to-do list. What if we celebrate all of the things that we've accomplished whether it's big or small, it doesn't matter. But remind yourself, I did that this week, this last week, and I made a list of things that I had done and it really it meant a lot to me. I was like, because I think we forget, we forget the things that we've done, that we felt good about, because we're so focused on all the things that we need to do or want to do in the future, and I guess that's going a little bit into the past, but, rather than focusing on all the negative things that we haven't done, celebrate your wins. It's like you would celebrate your child wins or your friend, or like you are just as important as everybody else in your life. And day eight was honoring how you feel, and in that episode I talked about being okay with saying no to things if they don't feel good to you, and what that really comes down to is truly honoring how you feel in your body when someone asks you to do something, whether you're going to or you're going to go somewhere.

Speaker 1:

But really connecting with yourself and starting to get to know yourself a little bit more, by how is your body actually reacting and responding? Because our bodies communicate with us all the time, and it starts with the beginning of your day. When you wake up, what kind of mindset do you want to go into? Elizabeth Gilbert talks about you can choose how you want your day to go, just like you choose your clothes, and when you wake up, you get to decide. So maybe take a few minutes to really connect with yourself and center yourself. And how do I want to feel today and throughout the day when things are going the way they go. You can always reconnect and say how do I want to feel today?

Speaker 1:

I remember from this morning how I decided that I wanted to feel today and then do the things that can pull you back toward that, because everything is truly, truly within us our happiness, our love when you connect your head and your heart and really feel, really feel what feels good to you in your body, with your relationships, your outside relationships, with your friends, with your family, with your kids, with yourself. What is your relationship with yourself? I was talking with a friend the other day and they were telling me they were like I don't even like myself. Why, why, why would you not like yourself? Is it all the things that other people have said to you over the years? Is it beliefs that have just been put upon you that aren't even yours? We have so many challenges to work through. We have so many thoughts and beliefs and things in society around us, beliefs about ourselves that aren't even true. They're not ours. We've just picked them up and when you pick it up, you can put it down. You don't have to hold on to it. When you learn to connect with yourself and know what you like and know what you don't like. It helps you to draw in the things that you do want by knowing what you don't want. I really just want to remind you that you are important and you matter.

Speaker 1:

You may have done things in your past that you're not proud of. I know I have, but those things don't identify. That's not my identity. Those are not. I don't have to hold on to those things. I can release that pain and release that part of me that I don't want to keep. I can forgive myself for my past mistakes, use them as opportunities to learn to move forward. When things come up, I can ask myself hey, what am I learning from this situation? How is it going to help me grow? How is it going to help with my expansion and my knowledge and help me to show up for myself? We all deserve to be loved. We all deserve to feel loved. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to the show.

Speaker 1:

I hope that you found some tips and ideas that might help you feel better, and just remember that you deserve to feel good and to enjoy your life and do the things that you want to do and say no to the things that you don't want to do, it's okay, and giving yourself permission to do that it is your life, it's no one else's. Even when we feel like we're out of control or things are going on around us that are completely out of our control, we get to choose. We get to choose how we want to feel. We get to choose how we're going to respond. We get to choose how we're going to show up. We get to choose how we're going to honor ourselves and how we feel about things. And, like I also said, I'm not in denial about the fact that we've all got stuff and that we all have things that we have to do sometimes, that even if we don't really want to do it. But what can you do in those moments? To find something, just one thing, that's going to help increase your energy and maybe shift your mindset a little bit, even if it's something that you don't really want to do. What are some things that you can do to help yourself feel better and raise your energy in that moment? Because our energy is everything. Our energy is everything.

Speaker 1:

I've decided to start offering free monthly group coaching sessions. It's completely free. If you've never been involved in group coaching, it's pretty incredible. The dynamic is amazing and there's so many times when someone picks up about something that's going on with them and is asking for some help and some guidance. Usually it resonates with other people that happen to be in the group, and I'm excited to offer that. This is going to be a free opportunity for people, because I want to help and whatever I can do to help you enjoy your life, because it's yours, and I want to help you create a life that you adore, because it's supposed to be fun. It's not supposed to be so heavy all the time.

Speaker 1:

There is also the Pure Possibilities Podcast Community group on Facebook. The link is also in the show notes for that. If you'd like to join us there. We do a weekly Q&A and other fun things and giveaways and prizes, so that's another way to stay connected, and then I also have one-on-one coaching opportunities available if you're interested in that. So the links for all of that is available on my website, and thank you so much for all of your love and support. I truly, truly appreciate it. Much love, bye.
