True transformation happens when you are open to all of the possibilities! When you let go of the outcome, let yourself surrender and  EXPAND! This is precisely what this amazing woman has done!  It is exactly what has brought Felicia Romero to her amazing success as a business & fitness online coach and podcast host. After following her initial dreams of owning and operating gyms, and working as a fitness & wellness coach, she pivoted and began her online career. After years of experiencing such a demanding schedule, Felicia soon discovered the transformative power of personal growth, in addition to the fact that time is our most precious asset. In her realization that we only have today and time is something we can never get back, she now lives her days with intention to make the most of each day! Felicia shares that going into 2024 holds so much possibility for us all, it is time to be seen and time to GO FOR IT!  Most importantly, we must align our actions with our values to ultimately cultivate a life full of  energy, happiness, and joy.

We discuss the seasons of life and the importance of being fully present—whether you're navigating the hustle of a business or cherishing family time. Felicia shares some of the challenges that entrepreneurs can experience,  especially those who are parents. Guilt can creep in and affect our mindset which can sometimes lead to unhealthy comparisons that can sneak into our lives, especially as we juggle personal ambitions with responsibilities like parenting. Sometimes it is necessary, as Felicia shares, to give ourselves grace, as well as the courage to retreat and recalibrate in order to address any limiting beliefs in order to move forward in our endeavors.

As Felicia shares openly about beginning her journey in a home-based gym that led to owning and operating multiple gyms, she came to realize her health began to suffer as all of her waking hours were dedicated to being at the gym, leaving no time for her own personal health and wellness. She also began to realize the income was not where she had hoped it would be and ultimately made the decision to sell. She closed that chapter and quickly realized once she pivoted into the online space, the importance of aligning her goals with the various seasons of life.

We discuss the importance of being patient with the timeline, having the wisdom to listen to intuition, and the importance of paying attention to certain signals that life sends our way along our journey.  Join us as this beauty shares about navigating pivotal moments, finding balance

Speaker 1:

I think, for 2024 and beyond, it's really a time to step into that, to step into your power, to step into being seen, to step into aligning with your deepest desires and dreams and going for it, because you have nothing to lose. It's like time is one of those things, that it's like our greatest currency, but it's also the currency that we often forget about, because time we think of currency in terms of money and all those things, but really it's time that we don't get back right. And so I'm really in sort of that mind frame of like really making the most of the time that I have, and yes, that doesn't mean that I'm in this constant push hustle mode, but it really just means that I'm doing things that I'm really aligned with and stepping into that even more.

Speaker 2:

Do you get confused by all of the information that Babar does every day on ways to improve our overall health and our overall wellness? Do you often feel stuck, unmotivated or struggle to reach your wellness goals? Do you have questions as to what exercises you should be doing, what foods you should or should not be eating, how to improve your overall emotional and mental well-being? Hello everyone, I am so excited to welcome you to Words of Wellness. My name is Shelly Jeffries and I will be your host. My goal is to answer these questions and so much more To share tips, education and inspiration around all of the components of wellness through solo and guest episodes. With 35 plus years as a health and wellness professional, a retired college professor, a speaker and a multi-passionate entrepreneur, I certainly have lots to share. However, my biggest goal and inspiration in doing this podcast is to share the wellness stories of others with you, to bring in guests who can share their journey so that we can all learn together while making an impact on the health, the wellness and lives of all of you, our listeners. The ultimate hope is that you leave today with even just one nugget that can enhance the quality of your life, and that you will. We all will, now and into the future, live our best quality of lives, full of energy, happiness and joy. Now let's dive into our message for today.

Speaker 2:

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Words of Wellness. My name is Shelly Jeffries and I am your host, and I'm very excited to be here with you all today and even more excited to share with you my guest. She has done numerous, numerous things within the fitness, health and wellness arena and she is an amazing businesswoman. She has owned gyms, she has done fitness competitions and she has her own, of course, podcast, which was formerly known as the diet dropout, but now it is called Hi, felicia. So with that, I wanna say hi, felicia Romero. Thank you for being here today. I am so excited.

Speaker 1:

Thank you for having me on. We are gonna have such a fun expansive conversation and the listener right now.

Speaker 2:

Get ready, because you're gonna feel some shifts during today's call 100%, and I just wanna thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for being here. You have impacted my life, as you know, over the past gosh year or two now maybe and I have just followed you and seen your amazing growth and just stepping into your power. I feel like, do you feel that? Like really to the nth degree? I'm going to say seriously, I feel it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, really, you know the things that I'm feeling, especially with the collective. This year is, yeah, 2024. Is this really powerful time to step into your power? I feel, like the last couple of years, as things have shifted things have even shifted, you know, in the online space of like figuring out what you wanna do and maybe taking some time to reflect and sit back and get clarity.

Speaker 1:

I think, for 2024, and beyond, it's really a time to step into that, to step into your power, to step into being seen, to step into, you know, aligning with your deepest desires and dreams and going for it. You know, because you have nothing to lose. It's like time is one of those things, that it's like our greatest currency, but it's also the currency that we often forget about, because time, you know, we think of currency in terms of, like money and all those things, but really it's time that we don't get back right. And so I'm really in sort of that mind frame of like really making the most of the time that I have, and yes, that doesn't mean that I'm in this constant push hustle mode, but it really just means that I'm doing things that I'm really aligned with and stepping into that even more.

Speaker 2:

I love that.

Speaker 2:

I love that and I can so relate, even though you know I have a few years I mean a few years ahead of you in age.

Speaker 2:

But just from my experience and like you're saying, this last year I feel like was a year of growth and learning for me personally.

Speaker 2:

Like I feel like I was and I will continue to be a part of programs right, we will continue to invest in our knowledge, in our growth and in our leadership skills and all of that. However, I feel like that was a lot of what last year was, and, in addition to for me retiring from teaching college, that was a whole other shift, and it's so interesting because I thought I was going to retire and then it was like all this stuff was gonna happen. I was gonna jump in and do this and I was gonna do that, I was gonna start my course and all this thing, and then I realized now, looking back, I had to take a little time to just be, I guess, in that space. I'm with you on that, though, as far as the time goes by, no matter what. So let's fill it with the things that we want to do and that are in alignment with our goals and our missions and our hearts right Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

I think, sometimes too, giving ourselves some compassion, some grace, and again, this is me kind of leaning into a little bit more of that feminine essence, the feminine energy. I feel like for many people and I think society maybe expresses this or conveys this sort of message that we must always be in worker mode, that we must always be doing, and I don't feel like that's always the case. Now I think it's really important to, yes, like implement and get things done that you really wanna get done. That's not gonna come without taking some sort of action, but I also believe that you must honor the season that you're in. So I'll give you an example.

Speaker 1:

I work with a lot of women who have families or who have children, and sometimes they feel guilty, for there's so much guilt that comes through. They feel guilty for working on their business when they feel like they should be with their children, or vice versa. They're like, oh, I'm in this season, I'm raising my children, but I really should I be hustling Like I'm gonna get left behind? All of these women are doing amazing things, and so there's this like disconnect and we're always sort of comparing ourselves to the outside world of what others are doing, and it'll leave us feeling really, I think, unworthy or maybe like we're being left behind. And this is where I think it's a really great opportunity, especially at the start of a new year, is to honor whatever season you're in, right, and to not live life anymore with one foot in, one foot out. What I mean by that is if you're in the season of the hustle, if you're in the season of the rocket ship and you're ready to go, be all in. But if you're in the season of like I'm gonna sit back and I'm gonna, let's say, I'm gonna really focus on my babies for the next three to six months when they're little, or again, years, not months but let's say, the season that you're in is this half of a year of really being present with your family, then be all in with that right, and so like giving yourself a ton of grace and compassion, honoring the season that you're in, and like you had mentioned when you had gone through what you had gone through, and like, oh, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that, and like, actually, I just found myself sort of retracting. Well, maybe you, just you needed that season to get clear, right, sometimes we have to take two steps back in order to propel five steps forward. Right, and I was just on a podcast. I was just interviewing a gal on my podcast earlier today and we talk about this and oftentimes, when you are wanting to embark on new goals and you're wanting to move forward, sometimes moving forward does require you to move back a little bit. What I mean by that is, let's say, well, let's take you, for instance. You and I know we work together. I know you, so I feel like I can use you as a really great example. You wanted to start this podcast and you did amazing. Or an entrepreneurship I know you're in direct sales and all of those things. And so, like, what if? Or network marketing, what if?

Speaker 1:

You know, when we get into this, oftentimes, whenever we get into entrepreneurship and we're putting our us on the line, like who we are on the line we're getting into entrepreneurship it can bring up a lot of insecurities. It can bring up a lot of different limiting beliefs that we did not know were there. Like it seems like we're good enough Imposter syndrome, like I can just go down the list of all the things that pop in, but what happens is when those things start to come forth instead of trying to push forward even harder. Sometimes we need to pull back. So think of it like a rubber band, you know, and when we go back, that means we are actually pulling back and we're working on our inner selves. We're working on our personal development. Maybe we're doing some healing, maybe we're working on our inner child, maybe we're working on the things that subconsciously we are feeling right now because we had gone through things in our childhood that led to that, or maybe we had gone through past failures in life that subconsciously left a dent inside of us.

Speaker 1:

You know, I often say our issues, that's, you know, our tissues carry our issues. So, like in our body, it's holding those things and we need to work through them in order to propel forward. Right? So you know it's. I love that analogy and I wish I could credit the person that I heard that from. I saw it on some sort of I think it was YouTube video, but you know, and that's so true, you know, when we use that analogy, we're like some things, we just have to pull the rubber band back and work on those things from the past in order for us to propel forward, and so entrepreneurship will bring that out for us. And then you know having a lot of grace and compassion for where you're at and honoring the season that you're in.

Speaker 2:

It's all so, so good, oh my gosh. And I, going back a little bit, I can relate to so much of what you're saying. So, when you're talking about family, I still and my children now are 25, 23 and almost 18. And I still it's, and you know this about me, but I always vary.

Speaker 2:

I'm very intentional with putting family first. However, there's still moments, even at this stage, even when they're older, there might be an event I want to attend or something going on and I have to remind myself, oh no, I have something going on with my family and I'm still in that season. Like we have our baby who's home, and soon he's going to be gone and we'll be empty nesters. So when there's something I want to attend, I remind myself still this right, this very moment, that it's okay, that's the season, I'm still, we still have our baby home, I'm not going to miss these last few months of him being home, right? So it's so true, and I see that pool with moms and that's part of the reason I created the program for moms to mentorship them in their own personal wellness. But I see that too, where there's such a push and pull and almost that guilt of putting themselves first, or putting their health first, or taking time for themselves and their self-care, and a lot of times that just gets put on the back burner, kind of, are the sidelines and it's so important. And then also what you're saying, taking some time back.

Speaker 2:

I totally can relate to that, and there are moments, for sure, where I think, gosh, and I found myself a little bit getting into my head and I have never really done this till this year about my age and then realizing, okay, I still feel like I might be my fifties, but I still feel like I'm in my thirties. It's all good, but it's funny, the mind can play little tricks, but I do have that voice a little. Catch it. I catch it now and I'm like, okay, no, no, no, no, no, you're right where you're supposed to be, it's totally okay, so yeah. So everything you're saying is so spot on and I love the issues in the tissues. You just never know what's gonna come out. That needs to still come out from years, years, years ago. It's just the way that it is.

Speaker 1:

I mean, let's say which is one of the reasons why, shelley, I love somatic work, right, I love working through all of that. So a lot of what I do in my own work cause I help a lot of really expansive women who are wanting to up level their life, their business, women who are wanting to launch their business online, create more income scale scale to predictable income. What I'm teaching women, there are gonna be things that come up for them. So how can we work through that? And so I use a lot of somatic work and different modalities and I know this is something that I actually started doing this last year, year and a half but something called God of yoga and, even though it's not your traditional yoga, but it allows our bodies to release whatever is holding us back and we're able to activate different parts of our body and it actually reveals to us what we need, right? So when we again we move a certain way, we move our hips a certain way.

Speaker 1:

I mean, if you think about it, your hips are one of I think, the number one area or place that, for women anyways, holds trauma, and when I say trauma, I don't necessarily mean that there's all different types of trauma.

Speaker 1:

Right, there's big teeth trauma, that like really impactful type of trauma, and then there's a little teeth trauma, and little teeth trauma could even be like you experienced road rage from someone and you had a really frightful morning right From someone's energy.

Speaker 1:

Or maybe you read something online about yourself and you're like, oh, like you could feel it and you hold that in your body, specifically your hips. So when you're moving through different somatic movements, like your hips and your stomach and your body, and you're letting all of those things go, oftentimes what I see for a lot of women is the release of emotion, deep emotional release, and what happens when that happens is like we start to get visions and downloads of us. Actually, again, you mentioned stepping into your power at the very start of this. It's like, oh man, it's almost like this permission slip to then step into their power. They now have the courage and the confidence to speak their truth and to show up in a really big way after we do something like this in a somatic practice, and I've seen so many women release in such powerful ways on the mat when we've done this and it's so, so helpful for women in business as well.

Speaker 2:

I love that and I can't wait to be able to come and participate in one of your classes. It sounds amazing. I wanted to have you share about that because that is something you like. You said you just started within the last year, year and a half and it must be so rewarding to see that transformation before your eyes, within the women that take that with you right. Amazing Love, how you have.

Speaker 2:

You are continually growing and opening yourself to new things and new opportunities, whether you seek them out or they come to you. Whatever it is, I guess I would love for you to share a little bit about your journey, because I know it started back in owner of gyms, operating gyms, and it must be such. You have such that experience of that to now doing almost not everything online, because now we're back into doing things in person. But what kind of a transition has that been for you? Like? I know I've heard you talk about it a little bit here and there, but I just think it's gotta be something very freeing to do what you do now and think back to what you did then, right?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for sure. And again back to seasons, right, like during those times where I had the gym, I was solely invested in it my heart, my soul, my everything. But then, like most people, most people who are multifaceted sometimes we tend to like oh like, I think, sometimes. Let me bring this back and give you some context. I opened up my first gym when I was 21, 22 out of my house, I'll like literally in my garage, and over the course of that time, from my 2021 up to about 35, I had opened up three gyms during that time, which they were all very, very aligned. It's something that I really wanted to do. It's something that I proved myself I could do. It was like literally a manifestation of my highest self. It was like visualizations, imagine, like visualizing what you want this to be and then you actually see it come to life. I remember my last gym fit method. I could see it so clearly. I didn't have the funds, but I remember talking about it. And the thing about your goals, the thing about things that you want to bring in and call forth into your life, you have to speak about it, you have to let people know, you have to like, bring it to light, and the more that you can talk about it, the more likely you are to bring it to light. And so what I realized is, as I was speaking about it and I just knew I wanted this opportunity, the right people came into my life. I had investors that literally would invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into this gym, and so those were the seasons that I was in, and what happened towards kind of the last end of it is things started to shift for me. Right, I got engaged and I wanted more time freedom.

Speaker 1:

When I realized that the gym it was great, the gym made money. I didn't necessarily make a lot of money, right, cause I had such a big overhead. And I think there's sometimes a disconnect for a lot of people in terms of, like, the money their business brings in and the money they bring in right, so like that's very different. Right, your business may bring in a million dollars, but you personally are probably not bringing in a million dollars, cause usually that's gonna there's gonna be some sort of expense that goes out and things that go out and taxes and all the things. So, like, there's always this like disconnect.

Speaker 1:

So my gym was making money, but I wasn't necessarily making that money, and so I felt very restricted and I wasn't necessarily living the way I wanted to live. I also felt very like powerless in terms of like my money mindset and the things and the opportunities that I wasn't taking advantage of. Because I felt very married to this business. I also feel like if I was the woman now, back then, I would have been able to delegate so much better, I would have been able to ask for help so much better, but I was so in my masculine back then. I was so in my I can do it all energy that I burnt myself out, and so I wasn't aligned with that anymore and I decided to sell in 2017.

Speaker 1:

And so, yeah, one of the things that it really awarded me was more time, freedom and financial freedom and to be able to work from anywhere, which is truly priceless. Right, and it really wasn't. Yes, money was a motivator in the beginning, but even with money, I remember I was like I just wanna make an extra $3,500. Like that would be a God sent $3,500. Like that was like my goal. I'm like, oh, that would be so great. And then, as you stick to it, as you grow, my income kept growing. But in the beginning, it really was just to have some extra money to be able to not worry about getting the expensive juices at the grocery store or having a little bit of overflow in my bank account to where we could take a trip. It was all very simple. It was really if I were to even break it down even further, it was the ability to have the freedom to do what I wanted every day. Right, that was my big motivator at the end of the day, and so it grew from there. But yeah, and so back to what I was saying about pivots. I knew it was time for me to pivot.

Speaker 1:

For a lot of women in general and I speak to women because I feel like I work with a lot of women you may have, obviously, a lot of women in your audience, but they're afraid to shift right.

Speaker 1:

They're afraid to leave what they've known for the chance to get something better or to shift what's misaligned with them right then and that could even be in relationships You're being alone the things that pop in your head like what if I never meet anyone again? Well, what if you don't? Are you gonna be okay with that? So we have to again know that pivoting could actually create this opportunity that we didn't even know was meant for us, right? And so I am all for shifting and pivoting when you need and being able to discern when that time is right. I remember I sat on it a whole year. There was a whole year where I just felt misaligned at the gym but I kept telling myself to just stick it out and keep pushing and things started happening in my life like my health started going bad and I had anxiety and I had all these like health issues and so, like, okay, universe, I get the point, you're telling me what I mean, and so you shift right.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, I love that. I can understand and relate to that. I had that same moment even just with my teaching, my college teaching years. I mean, I taught college for over 30 years and I remember one specific day walking up to the building, just having that feeling of I don't wanna do this anymore. But at that point in time I didn't feel, instead of listening to my intuition, which was okay, it just wasn't the right time. Again, going back to the timing, right, it was again probably four or five years ago. It just wasn't the right time.

Speaker 2:

And, as luck would have it too, one crazy story I've shared with people as I'll never forget there was a day I was driving to the college and it wasn't that far, mind you, but I would jump on the freeway and I had this overwhelming feeling like I don't wanna jump on the freeway, I don't wanna drive on the freeway, I don't wanna commute anymore. And you know that literally that was like days, days before the country shut down. Really Literally, like I think I was driving on a Monday or Tuesday and then country shut down. So that was pretty wild Getting the opportunity to be able to do all that work from home. That just pretty much sensed it for me as far as I was already working from home part-time and then going out and teaching, but having that experience of being able to do it from home was the best.

Speaker 2:

However, kind of going back to what we were talking about at the beginning, I know and I value the importance and the need for human connection and being in the room and being with people and being in person. So there's kind of finding that balance right, being able to have that flexibility where you can work from anywhere but also be able to do like you're doing and put on events where you are bringing individuals together. Because we know and we're hearing that so much and we know it now more than ever. The importance and the need for being in person and having that human contact. Yeah, I think that there's so many benefits to being able to hop on a zoom like this and connect with anyone anywhere in the world. So there's definitely that.

Speaker 2:

But the importance of being in person, we just can't, can't minimize it. It's just, it's just huge, and so I know you have a lot of different in person events coming up, so they pretty much all relate to wellness really, and I know that your purpose is really to, like you said earlier, to prepare women and to help them launching their businesses and to grow in their businesses. And there's definitely that connection because we were able to be healthy and to do that whole Do our best in our, in our profession and our business and whatever that looks like. So what do you have coming up this year?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, a lot of the clients I work with, our wellness fitness mindset coaches, really looking to grow and scale their income online and use the social media to do that. But, yeah, some awesome events that I have coming up. So I am going all in on my podcast and I'm doing more live podcast events this year, which I started last year, which I was really. I had so much fun, but this year last year I did it but it was all audio. This year I'm going full force with it again but I'm also including the video aspect as well to get just more content.

Speaker 1:

And I do have quarterly masterminds that I host in person. So I have one coming up February 16 and 17 here in Arizona and it's a two day in person mastermind where on the first day we always do some sort of feminine embodiment day where we go inward and so I usually line up and curate the modalities that help us really break open, kind of like what I showed earlier the rubber band right, retreating back in order to go forward. And then on day two is the propel forward, is the implementation, the strategy day. I'm just so excited. I usually always have a special guest come in for a live podcast interview and I never reveal the guest. I always just surprise the people that are there, the women that are there, and the different modalities like sound bowl healing and this last one I had human design and breath work, and so it's powerful. It's powerful work and I'm doing for this year that I'm really excited about.

Speaker 2:

So exciting, so share a little bit Felicia with us in our audience. Your, your personal journey, kind of through your, your wellness journey, and then also, what do you do now currently? Because, coming from the space of owning a gym, imagine finding time for you and get your workouts in and do you know, your wellness routine was probably really challenging and I know you've gone through a very transformative phase through all these years because you were on, you were on covers of magazines, you did it all and look at yourself and you still obviously do. And so, going through all of those experiences, and then what you leading to where you are today, and what, what is a typical kind of day now look like for you when it comes to your personal wellness, and not just the exercise part, right, just the overall.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, my gosh, such a great question. I it changes every day, but one thing that I always I'm a believer in rituals and I'm a believer in habits, and so you know, I used to think that I used to read all the books and I still do, but, like you know, the entrepreneurship books that told you the what successful people do in the morning and all these things that you need to do in order to be successful, and I'm sure you've heard them make sure you make the bed and you got to get up before everyone. You got to get up at 5am and do the meditation and do the cold plunge and I'm like, okay, like this is what it takes to be successful. Okay, and I remember I used to think that I had to do those things. And again, back to alignment, I I knew that I could still be just as successful without having to get up at 5am to get a workout in or to get up extra early to do, like, my journaling for the day, because I'm a sleeper, I like sleep.

Speaker 2:

I think that's one of the.

Speaker 1:

I'm not waking up at 5am, that's just not. But so back to like my daily rituals. I do like to get sleep. I always make sure I have eight hours or more of sleep, it's so important to me. And in the morning I usually don't start my day, typically with calls until around nine or 930. And so I have a good two, two and a half hours of no emails or telephone. That's when I'm usually doing my daily rituals, which is movement. And I like to have slow mornings. And this is coming from someone who used to have very like anxiety written mornings where I used to train people in the morning. So I would get up at 5am and, like after, hurry to the gym to get cardio in because I had a client at the gym. It was all very like fast pace and frantic.

Speaker 2:

And.

Speaker 1:

I always had a lot of anxiety, and so I really cherish my slow mornings to kind of get my head on straight and see what I have for the day and look at my calendar and get some movement in and clean up the house a little bit, take the dogs for a walk, and that really helps to regulate my nervous system because and it helps me prepare for the day and each day I usually time block different things. I work better with time blocking and breaks versus working straight through, right, so I usually have like a couple hours time blocking for interviews and then I'll have a break and then I'll go into like a little bit of a while. So I always make sure to like really manage my energy, because I feel like energy is something that again, is a currency, right? Usually we tend to give up on certain things because we're lacking certain types of energy, right, energy to get the thing done, and so I think energy. A lot of times we think it's willpower that's not helping us stay on our wellness goals.

Speaker 1:

As you were, you working I don't know you know this because you work in wellness but it's not. It's usually because the energy is depleted by the end of the day that we then sort of lack the willpower and so I'm not going to do with like I'm not strong enough or I don't have enough discipline. Know, it's just you've exhausted all of your energy and making decisions and so, yeah, james clear says that you know an atomic habit, so so that's sort of my typical day. I'm usually done by like three, three o'clock, four o'clock, and then I get my stepson Rylan three days out of the week picking up from school and we hang out and then cooking dinner. I play pickleball and part of a pickleball league. Now it's my typical day that's filled with you know, and I do make sure this is. One thing that I do do is I always make sure that I do one or two income producing activities every day and that the messages sending messages out, creating an email and then I'm going to be in the office and in an email, having conversations in the DM, making a post.

Speaker 1:

So you know, it's super important to work on things that move the needle in your life, in your business, and this can be in all core areas of your life. But doing things that you can do in, whether it be your wellness, whether it be your business, whether it be your. You know you're the fun that you want to have, right, like, for instance, if you, if one of your core values is fun, more, more fun this year. So look at your calendar and see, because your calendar is your biggest indicator of where you're spending your time. Where have you scheduled more fun? Are you living in alignment with your core values, right? So sometimes we have to just set our sites out on those things that we really want to create and make room for the things that we want to create in our life.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, so that's a typical day, so good, and I think this is so great for listeners to hear. For those that are not in the routine or habit of planning and calendaring their days and calendaring that time, that is still something I feel like I am constantly learning and working on improving for me personally, because I have to go, instead of getting down on myself that I'm not a pro at it. Just yet I look back and I go okay, shelly, you've had a schedule that has been set for you. You didn't set my schedule for many years when I was teaching, they set that for me.

Speaker 2:

I wasn't in control of that and that was one of the reasons I was ready to branch out and do some other things on my own many years ago. There's just certain things. I look back and I go okay, well, this is what you've been doing for decades and you haven't been in the routine of scheduling these things. I'm doing it, but I feel like I'm still learning and growing and I am not, as always, so good about scheduling the fun, even though it happens. I'm more spontaneous. But we do have to schedule things, because then we end up getting distracted and not complete what we set out to complete for the day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, or not doing it at all.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I can't tell you that's one of the number one things that a lot of women are wanting more of. Whenever I get together with women and my mastermind events, it's like gosh. I don't know the last time that I've actually set out to just do fun things during the week.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Meet up with friends or have a fun road trip or do something fun. It's like sometimes when we are in this mode and again I've been there but when you're in a scarcity mode or when you're not making the money that you want to make, or maybe you feel limited in your finances and it creates this dysregulated nervous system and you feel anxious and you feel stressed. We often then don't make time for those things that are going to bring fun into our lives because we're so focused on trying to figure things out.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Trying to make more money and oftentimes what you'll notice is actually when you take a step back and you start becoming a little bit more loose and fun and carefree and you still, yes, have the goals in aligning with more financial wealth. But when you let that go, what you'll realize is and you're not holding onto it so hard you'll realize that the money will come. It really will, and that doesn't mean that you don't work at it or you don't do things that are aligned action towards that, but it oftentimes when you just let it go. I can't tell you how many times I stepped away from my business to go do something with my girlfriends and I put something out and didn't worry about the sales. And I show up and there's sales in my inbox. People have bought this thing and that thing and this thing, and I'm oh, wow, okay, I surrendered and this happened, and so I think that's, you know, a powerful lesson.

Speaker 2:

That is such a powerful lesson and we hear that word, I'm hearing that word and that's actually one of the words I chose for 2024 as surrender, because it's like it's so true what you say If you hold tightly to something, we get so it just creates that stress and anxiety and it cuts off the potential for something to flow whether it's through us, to us, whatever that might be.

Speaker 2:

So that's such a great reminder and it's sometimes it's a challenge, right, because when you're in that moment or whatever that situation might be, sometimes it's hard to get yourself out of it. But it always makes such a difference when you do. Yeah, but it just depends on what you're experiencing at that moment in time. But once you can kind of surrender and pray and relax and try and relax in the situation, it definitely makes us so much better.

Speaker 1:

It does, it really does.

Speaker 2:

Always.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it makes the journey more fun.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and I think about that too in making a decision, whether it be personal, family, business, financial, whatever it is, when it's rushed and stressed and you feel stress, I continue to remind myself. If I start to feel that, then it's like no, no, no, Because you can't make any great decisions out of a stressed place. So that's another thing that's important, I think, to remember is that once you can kind of try and release and surrender, everything is so much better, yeah, so good. I just love this time with you. I know we could talk forever. I I just appreciate you so much and appreciate you jumping on and encouraging me. I you know we talked a little bit before we started recording about this journey for me and knowing full well a good solid five years ago or so, that this is something that I wanted to do and you've been part of my journey.

Speaker 2:

You offered an awesome mini class that we a few of us took Gosh back in the spring I think it was right, which is really great. Again, it was just a small group and you were so wonderful and obviously you still are and I just really appreciate all that you do and I love all that you're sharing because you just I think you're such an example, and a wonderful example for all women, and then, specifically, entrepreneur. You know women who are in entrepreneurship because it does get. It does does get a little challenging at times and I sometimes joke about you know. You hear people saying, oh, sometimes I just want to throw my arms up and go get a job at one of the department stores or something. You know, some of those moments are just like it's not the easiest row but it's, I think, one of the most rewarding. Right, yeah, just or time and just being relentless and never giving up for sure. So such a great example of that.

Speaker 2:

So I'm going to share in our share notes, of course, where everyone can find you. But what were some places that people can?

Speaker 1:

reach out to you. I hang out over on Instagram. So at Felicia Romero, which is my first name and last name, and my website, felicia Romerocom, you can find out everything that's happening. You can apply for certain things. All the offers that I have you can check out right there on my website.

Speaker 2:

So I love that, and you also do one on one coaching as well, right yeah?

Speaker 1:

so it's really for that woman who's ready to, who's already making six figures in her business, who really want to refine strategy and and really expand this year. But I'm really pushing more of the group things that I have going on. So, my masterminds, the goddess yoga certification, I do have a self paced course for wellness and fitness coaches called the 10k accelerator, and the 10k is like a roadmap. It's like your ultimate blueprint, step by step blueprint to how to create five figure months and so it's powerful and so that's available now to. I just finished it up this last week. I taught that for two years live, so I know it's a proven system. I've had now over 6070 people go through that course and now it's a self paced course.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, good for you. That's fantastic. So any last moments that we have together here, anything you want to share, any last bits of wellness, inspiration or just life in general, I love everybody can't see but one of her pups is on her lap. So cute. I love you Hello this is Fiona.

Speaker 1:

Um, no, I would say honestly, just remind everyone, because we all have, you know, somewhere that we're headed. We all want to get to the destination, but I want to remind everyone, and you to, that it really is. The gold is in the journey. The gold isn't actually the person that we're becoming, and there really actually is never a top of the mountain, because there's going to be another mountain when you get to that mountain. So and what I mean by that is like the milestones or the next business goal or personal goal or financial goal or whatever it may be we're always going to want that next thing Right. So it never really is about the destination. It's about who we're becoming on that destination. I love that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you so so much. I'm excited to do this again at some point in the future and also see you again in person this year Wait, a couple of times would be great and we will share everything with our audience, what you have coming up and, heck, maybe I can get like a. Get a carpool of gals come into your event in Arizona, wouldn't be fun.

Speaker 1:

I would love that. Yeah, let me know. I have a ton of events I'm hosting this year, so I would love you to come out to one of them. Yes, I would love that.
