September 7, 1978...Georgi Markov goes to the ER with fever, nausea, and respiratory distress, while in the hospital he recounts an incident that occurred that morning of a man bumping into him with an umbrella. He died on September 11, his autopsy reveals a pellet in his thigh believed to have been laced with ricin.
