Tech Talk on Kubernetes Orchestration
Speaker 1Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is episode number 40 of the Tech Hustle fellas.
Speaker 2How you doing Good and you what's going on.
Speaker 1Yo, this is your host, bobby D, and I'm here to introduce you to the crew. First up, we got my guy D Hustle. What up player what's?
Speaker 2going on guys.
Speaker 1And then my cousin Raymond Don't call him Ray Ray Morning. What up? You gonna say hi to the camera or you look at the camera, say hi to the audience. We got a really, really cool show ahead of us today. Like I said, this is episode number 40. I can't believe we reached 40. We're killing it. We're killing it. We got a few things that we're going to cover today, so let me give you a quick rundown of the list here. First up, we have I'm going to be talking in a tech talk about Kubernetesubernetes, which is a cluster orchestration system for containers. This is a question that came in from one of our followers and mentees. A big shout out to you. Um, then we're going to have d hustle drop some tech current events and news raymond's nuggets. He's going to fill us in with some really cool things in the tv show. You always got some good tv shows to recommend, right?
Speaker 3yeah, I try yeah, I try.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean Hulu and Netflix need to send us some checks. You know what I'm saying. And then D-Hustle is going to come back on the mic with some sports, close us out with our sponsorship, and then I'll have some call to action things at the end that I definitely want Y'all ready for this. All right, y'all. How's the audience feel about it? All right, no doubt, no doubt. Well, thank y'all for showing up to the Tech Hustle. We're definitely going to jump right into this tech talk. We'll cue up some music. Man, feeling live, feeling live, feeling live, feeling live. I had a question come in from a mentee of ours that follow us here at the tech hustle. Uh, I guess that's an opportunity for a plug. If you're not already joined in our community, go to the tech hustlecom. I'm going to have the, the edit guide. Put it there at the bottom, the tech hustlecom and click join community. Um, and then y'all can definitely get some insights into these really cool topics that we cover. Last week we had talked about Linux and Raspberry Pis, right?
Speaker 1Raspberry Pis, baby, yeah, we were doing some cool stuff, and this week we're going to take it up a notch. We're going to be talking about Cheesecake Pis. Cheesecake Pis Cheesecake.
Speaker 2Pis.
Speaker 1Only if it can make them right Cheesecake Pis. But today's topic? We're talking about a cluster orchestration system called Kubernetes. Now, if you haven't heard about it, it's all right. I'm going to fill you in in terms of what its use case and how it's implemented in a lot of tech environments. But, more specifically, I want to emphasize the value of learning how this stuff works so that you can start to upscale in the era of AI. Right, raymond? We always want to be giving them some gems so that they can get ready for AI, right?
Speaker 3Facts.
Speaker 1For sure. So let me just first of all talk about my past experience and why Kubernetes is like one of my hidden gems that a lot of people don't really know that I've worked in an environment that has had a very hyperscale infrastructure, similar to what Kubernetes provide. But let's just quickly talk about what Kubernetes is. So if you do check us on our podcast Discord, I'm going to drop a link in there so that you can read this newsletter that I'm actually using as a reference here. But more specifically, kubernetes is a cluster orchestration system that helps support the running and operating of containers at a hyper scale. Right now, if you're not familiar with containers, the technology that's behind it is called docker, but the kernel modules and supporting you know features are cgroups and namespace. Now we're going really low by even me mention that.
Speaker 1But the cool thing about that is is that it provides a way for you to isolate applications with their dependencies in a way that the application just thinks that it's running by itself. That more or less provides you a space so that you can quickly iterate and deploy and service applications that are out in the environment in terms of production. But if you think about it, I'm just giving you an instance of just one application. What if your environment has hundreds of applications? Right, you both worked in environments where it wasn't just one computer or one application that you all supported. I mean, how many applications do you support, raymond?
Speaker 3Right now six.
Speaker 1Yeah, you support about six applications that have maybe 20 servers behind each of them, right? So that's like a good amount of nodes and computers that are running the application, but, as engineers or administrators of these servers, is that you don't want to install the application on individual servers, you want to put them in containers so you can move it from one server to the next server to the next server. And that's where the idea of kubernetes really just flourishes is, because it's an orchestration system that allows you to manage multiple instances of containers inside your environment and running them on multiple computers. Now, the cool thing about it, raymond, about that, is when you actually use Kubernetes and containerization like Docker together, you actually get this really cool feature for free, which is, let's say, that in your environment a server goes down, right, um, people will know about it, right?
Speaker 1absolutely you'll definitely get phone calls immediately, right, yeah, and then you have an engineer that'll run into the data center or wherever the server is at, um and more or less be able to, you know, bring it back up or, you know, reconfigure it. Right. But the cool thing about kubernetes and docker is that, even though it just went down, we can easily move that application to another server without our users even knowing you get. I'm saying so that that's kind of like the hidden mirror that's created in the environments that are using kubernetes is that you basically are building a distributed infrastructure so that if one component breaks, it easily can be started up and serviced in another area.
Speaker 3Does that make sense, raymond? Yeah, it does, it should be seamless.
Speaker 1Yeah, it should be seamless, right, so that what we do when we're working at internet scale because and I say this to my mentees all the time is that sometimes y'all don't know how much things are broken, because we like to create hidden mirrors behind it, right? Rather than the old days that when that one computer went down, everybody knew about it, nowadays it's like that one computer goes down, so what? Bring in another one and we automatically start to schedule new workloads on it. Now, kubernetes as an infrastructure has multiple components, from a control plane to the worker nodes, to the scheduler, to etcd, and definitely the API server, which is one of the main components that helps support, you know, extending kubernetes functionality, and I definitely want to encourage you all to take a look at this newsletter that I posted inside of our um our discord here, because it definitely gets into more details about them.
Speaker 1The thing that I just want to emphasize is is that if you learn this skill in terms of learning how to manage Kubernetes, it's basically giving you the ability to potentially run anything in the cloud with least amount of understanding how the cloud works. I'll give you an example. So if I go into AWS right now and I say, hey, I want to go run one of your application servers that you were talking about, raymond, is that I would actually have to build a virtual machine and then install the application on there, right, and then, as an administrator, now I have a virtual machine to support and also the application. But if I were to take your application and put it inside of a container, then all I got to do is just schedule the workload inside of AWS, where I don't have to go set up a virtual machine and all those extra components and things that come along with it. So it actually makes administration even more simplified. I'm not saying that.
Speaker 1The concept is simple but I'm saying it simplifies it because the management that is needed for you to support, let's say, the operating system and also your application. You're removing it away because you're putting it inside a container.
Speaker 3Interesting, that make sense. Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 1And then, technically, I can run it in AWS, I can run it in GCP, I can run it in AWS, I can run it in GCP, I can run in Microsoft Azure, I can run it even in my local infrastructure on-prem, as long as my Kubernetes configurations are very similar and I can schedule that workload. It's definitely a technology that especially when the mentee came and asked me about it that I really want to make sure I let our community know. This is something that I want you all to learn and upscale on, because if you think about the era of uh ai won't be able to manage this infrastructure on its own right. There will always need to be an operator or an administrator to support whatever's going on, and if you have this skill, you always going to have a job right, and for me, I feel like I always got a job being able to manage and support these stuff at a very hyper scale in the past. So big shout out to my mentee.
Speaker 1Let's give him a round of applause for talking and asking us about kubernetes. Uh, if you're interested in learning more, uh, come to our community, thetechhustlecom, click join community and drop your question in there.
Speaker 3We're always there to support what's up, raymond question for you because you said you know you're always going to have a job, and I know this is always controversial so let me ask you a question, d hustle's favoriteustle's favorite question here, or mine's at least. So you're saying Kubernetes and all that. So can AI do that, or does that have to be a human or what?
Speaker 1So there's going to have to be some type of human intervention to manage it. Now I think when I'm thinking back when I was working at Twitter and we built something very similar to Kubernetes. That's why it's so cool to see the industry finally catch up to where we were at, because we built something called Mesos and Aurora, which was our orchestration system, cluster orchestration system and in terms of just number-wise, we ran over 500,000 containers in one of our clusters with thousands of nodes, like 100,000 of nodes right. Even with that type of endeavor, ai will not be able to take over the full burden of managing all that. Ai will be very good at doing log analysis, basically looking at the logs to see if it finds failures.
Speaker 1AI will be really good at detection like hey, there's something wrong with this computer, but technically someone has to intervene to fix the computer number one.
Speaker 3Gotcha.
Speaker 1Pulling it out of the rack, fixing something in it or, at the administrative level, like where I was at, is orchestrating all of them together. Right, so there's still going to be a puppet master overseeing what is going on, but we would definitely take advantage of AI to help us detect, potentially remediate, provision, decommission and do some of those things. I mean, I wish I had AI when I was still working at Twitter, because I wrote a lot of automation that did that right. I told you some numbers in terms of 100,000 computers, and we only had a team of about eight engineers that were site reliability engineers. Now, that's only one of our zones. Now we had at least three of them. So that's almost 500,000 computers that my team managed individually with just eight people do you get what I'm saying so?
Speaker 1can all ai take it over? Not take it over, but we would definitely be using as a complementary to us being able to manage such a hyperscale infrastructure okay, yeah, all right, yeah, I'm just curious so stop worrying bro I'm just, you know, always got to keep one eye open with ai, you always keep it one eye open
Speaker 1on ai yeah, I mean, they're going to get smaller, they're going to get more, um, uh, insightfulness, um, and I think the the real use case and and thank you for asking this question in terms of, like, how ai can be integrated with this is, um, ai is going to be able to keep an eye on infrastructure, very similar to what we already do, because we have logging, metrics and stuff like that. Oh, I forgot to mention metrics. Like, I would love to have AI being able to analyze metrics at a deeper level than me and then giving me some feedback on what we should do to support scale or, you know, forecasting what you know traffic could be right. I only wish we had that Right.
Apple Watch and AI Sex Bots
Speaker 1We had to do that ourselves and write formulas and definitely try to back of envelope it. But you know, with those types of estimates it would be good to have like an AI instance running that could always be doing that analysis for us and then it just generates a report. I would have loved something like that especially for capacity planning and stuff like that. Hey, um, I hope the next year of engineers that are up are taking advantage of it. If not, um, come and holler at your boy, because I got you he's got it.
Speaker 1He's got it all right, all right. Anything else d no me, no, raymond, anything else, no, no, no, he's the one with the questions no, no, I um, yeah, I've been pushing my kids to kind of play with. Ai now and stuff like that, oh, look at you, yeah. So Finally you're embracing it Like what.
Speaker 3I'm not embracing it, I'm telling them you know, hey guys, just download it, play with it, do whatever so you know, just learn to use it, just learn to use it.
Speaker 1Yeah, I definitely want to encourage that too, because their error that's coming up. That's going to be by default. Yeah, Default, All right, fellas. Well, thank you all for tuning in Audience. Thank you all for tuning in. Can I get a round of applause from the audience? Yeah, Appreciate y'all Tech talks. You know Definitely want to give a big shout out to our mentee asking questions about Kubernetes. And remember, follow us online. You can get even more information. We're going to love you up in the process. So holla at your boy. All right, what we got next?
Speaker 2d d hustles up yeah, buddy, yeah, what's going on, guys? Uh, just apple and ai, so you know didn't they name? Ai something different now I guess apple, intelligence apple intelligence so talk about apple intelligence. Just want to give everybody heads up because somebody asked me when is it coming out? It's not coming on to 2025 wow really just to give you guys heads up on that so the is the ios 18 is coming up, but apple intelligence is not going to come up to 18.1, uh, if I'm not mistaken yeah 18.1 or ios 18.2.
Speaker 2It's around october or december of next year, of next year, wow, okay, yeah, yeah. So what you really want is to figure out what's coming out in 2025. I mean, apple is coming out with the app, but the personal contact, the symmetric indexing, apple control and on-screen awareness or for 2025. Everything else is going to be in IOAT.
Speaker 1That's interesting. That's interesting. I think they teased us at that last conference. I think they did, just to keep our eyes on it, but I'm trying to wait to see what their partnership kind of plays out and comes out with Yep Wow.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm kind of annoyed they even mentioned it if it's not coming out till next year.
Speaker 1You over here like uh, what was that game that we were talking about? Grand Theft Auto.
Speaker 3Yeah, remember that they released it. That's a myth. At this point that ain't coming out.
Speaker 2Uh, he got the whole hyped up for no reason. Yeah, yeah, you know, I hear you. Also. Apple Watch saved the firefighter aide from a heart attack.
Speaker 1Wow.
Speaker 2So you don't have to have the best iPhone out there, but you need to have an iPhone 6, or I mean Apple Watch 6 or higher. So basically what happened was is, I guess he was having some issues with his heart the you know the watch detected it, yeah, and then just basically save his life. Travis Chalmers, age 44, experienced a warm sensation on his chest and a severe headache while playing road hockey with his son, so I'm assuming when he was down, his son was made to hold the action Instead of the watch.
Speaker 3But I guess it detected it. That's interesting yeah.
Speaker 2So you know I saved the guy's life, so nothing but love and prayers to him.
Speaker 1Yeah, for sure, for sure. Big shout out to Apple Watch.
Speaker 2Yeah. Did it, tell you how it detected it. So yeah, so you know, apple Watch Basically has a sensor. Basically they have it's called an irregular heart rhythm notification. Ah, okay so everybody has that little heart there it goes boom, boom yeah yeah, if you really do it now. You press both buttons on it. It tells you that you are on pause. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that basically helped them out and I guess the kid saved his life.
Speaker 1That's what's up. That the kid saved his life, that's what's up. That's what's up. I mean, this is the thing about these watches is is like, uh, they're monitoring us all the time, right, and they already know our sleep patterns, they know our walking, whenever we're going walking.
Speaker 2So, um, I'm very, uh, appreciative of the new new tech that we have available and detecting this and then, last but not least, let me give a little nugget out here, because this is what Raymond really wanted to hear besides the ring, so your Apple Watch could soon be as big sleep tracker upgrade for you.
Speaker 1All right, so they're updating the sleep tracker. You said Yep.
Speaker 2So basically, what they're saying is that some people have taken naps. The data was recorded and appears to be using a mage chime in below of the ios 18 tracking without sleeping mode. So finally it's coming out, yeah, so you guys be able to uh track it. I mean, I don't think I want to sleep with my watch on.
Speaker 3Yeah that's uh, but they got to figure that out because I do not sleep with my watch on, yeah, so, so I'm really looking for that ring. Yeah, I was going to mention that. Yeah, the ring would be cool, but Apple doesn't make a ring, do they? No, I don't think they do Not yet.
Speaker 1Not yet.
Speaker 3I mean, some people show more interest. Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 1Actually I've seen one guy rocking one but it was like it had like the don't you know the green light that Deez House was talking about the sensor, but it also had it inside of the ring and I guess he went to go wave at somebody and then all of a sudden you kind of seen it pop up a little bit.
Speaker 3That's cool, but hey, I don't think I want to sleep with a watch on either. Yeah, I can't. I've tried, it's not yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, plus it gives me all my demo notifications, everything that happens, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1It's like, ah no, he would not be sleeping at all. I cannot sleep with that crap on.
Speaker 2So that won't come out until June 10th, in case anybody's interested in that.
Speaker 1Yeah, did they announce that during the developers conference or this afterwards?
Speaker 2Conference, also Conference, okay, yeah.
Speaker 1So it's definitely something big that they big shot on something I'll put that there in the score, you guys can check it out.
Speaker 2Okay, and last but not least, this is for Raymond. All right, there he goes. Chinese company to roll out AI power sex bots with focus on emotional connections.
Speaker 3How do I get one of those All?
Speaker 2right, it's a big industry over there in China. I don't know if you guys know, but there's a big market of sex going on all over there. So basically what he's saying, mr Lee, which is the CEO of the company, he said the new generation of sex doll, powered by AR models equipped with sensors that can react with both movement and speech, significantly enhancing users' experience by focusing on emotional connection rather than the basic conversational abilities Wow.
Speaker 3Wow, that's interesting. Yeah, ladies, step your game up. I'm just saying.
Speaker 2And these are available for men and women. Oh, okay, then Wow. So if you're looking, for a significant other and don't want to buy dinner or go out. You just bring out your doll him or her call it whatever you want, don't discriminate here, nope, and you know, have a great time and then shut the fuck up, go right back in the closet and continue your fucking day interesting um, that's funny.
Speaker 3Yeah, no, there was a. Um, I don't know if you guys saw this. There was an article like a week or two ago. Where do you know that rooftop restaurant over here? Near city place, yeah, yeah yeah, so obviously they're all over the country. So there was one somewhere I don't know if it was ohio or something where this guy went on a date with his doll wow and the waitress took a picture of it and put it on tiktok and of course it went viral. She got fired, wow.
Speaker 1So but yeah, I mean that's invading his privacy.
Speaker 3Yeah so I mean the man's having dinner with the you know his doll there, and so that was interesting. So I guess this is where we are going. It was kind of interesting. He had a salad there for the doll and he was eating whatever his meal was.
Speaker 2So I was like okay okay, this is um yeah, like a real big, humongous doll. Yeah, it was like a big doll yeah, life-size doll, yeah it was not. No, annabelle and shit. No, it was, it was kind of uh interesting so but yeah, like a five foot or five foot tall doll, it was a doll yeah, so like a doll or so you gotta see it up.
Speaker 3Yeah, the guy said you know? Yeah, I don't know if he lost a prank or something, but yeah I'm well that that would be some good punishment for somebody like you've got to take your doll to dinner. Take a picture, yeah so I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting one of these models if they come here to the state.
Speaker 1so but yeah, I, I mean it's going to happen before you know it.
Speaker 3Yeah, no, they've been talking about this that you know we are next gen. That you know. We're going to have relations with robots now. That's what the people are saying, the experts man we're an inflatable doll bro you found the picture.
Speaker 2I found the picture, bro. Bro, what the fuck.
Speaker 3It's an inflatable dog.
Speaker 2Let me put this here on Discord for you guys to fucking see this shit Like. Nah, I think this was a joke, I think this was a prank. Okay, let's be realistic here, like for real.
Speaker 1Okay, come on man, all right.
Speaker 2People just got time today, all right, so I'd rather go out and have lunch, dog, you know but, but this is a high-end restaurant too. This is yeah, that's why yeah, well she gotta have a picture, because I tried to take a picture and told me no picture. So I'm glad she got fired yeah, because, oh yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3One of you guys tried to take a picture there and they told you no right well, when we was trying to do, uh, um, how do you call it?
Speaker 2a, uh, a business meeting, uh-huh, we went over there and then my mom was trying to get, um, you get pictures about signing the contract and all that, and I was like, no, no pictures, no, nothing. I was like, oh okay, because I was going to make the reservation over there. And you asked me how did that go?
Speaker 1I was like no, there's no pictures going on. Wow, interesting, yeah, so that's why she got fired then Okay.
Speaker 3All right, well, good, good for her, I agree yeah, mind your fucking business Not cool, completely agree.
Speaker 2He wanted to go out with a white girl, blonde hair, big boobs. Unfortunately her hands ain't moving.
Speaker 1but hey, you do what you got to do, I don't even know if she's going to be able to eat that salad, though I don't know. Come on man.
Speaker 2Let's be realistic here. There's so many women out there to do that. Yeah, you know what?
Speaker 3That's kind of ridiculous.
Speaker 2There is an app out there that you can pay somebody just to hang out with you.
Speaker 3I've heard that. Okay, it seems crazy.
Speaker 2No, no, it is, it's the perfect. I think somebody that was lonely and fucking depressed made this shit made this and made it work.
Speaker 2So it's him or her you can use whatever it is. Hey, I need somebody to go out with me on this day. The price is boom, yeah. And then they have a contract no kissing, no, nothing, yada, yada, yada, it's just boom. Once you're done the end of the day, then you part ways. Yeah, yeah, that's cool. I mean, it's better than saying, hey, advertising, anybody want to go out with me for this day? Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1That's wild. I mean, I think services like that and stuff like that is going to happen even more if you think about it right. Because now those men or women that are looking for some companionship now have the option to get AIs to go to dinner with them, and if you want to get the upscale or the higher end one, you'll pay for a human to really go with you, right? So I mean, it's the avenues open for it and people will pay for it, especially when they're looking for some companionship. Yeah, yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 2That's crazy, I don't know.
Speaker 1But hey there, yeah, that's crazy, yeah, that's crazy, I don't know, but hey, is it not?
Speaker 3for everybody. Big shout out.
Speaker 1There's a business for everybody hey, man get your hustle on they. They definitely on the hustle and um, yeah, this chinese company is really uh, gonna kill something out there yeah man they coming with it. It's interesting, okay. Well, big shout outs to them next. Next up we got my guy raymond. Don't call him ray ray. What up up player?
File Sharing and Torrent Software
Speaker 3What's up, gentlemen? What's going on? Man Not much, so wanted to kind of reminisce back in the days. Ask you a question here, bobby D.
Speaker 1What up?
Speaker 3When you used to come to my house growing up. What was I kind of known for? I would make something for everybody and stuff like that.
Speaker 1You know I used, used to cheese and crackers I mean you were, you were definitely known for different content online okay, well, you used to make cds, yes, cds that's where I'm getting to make dvds movies. Yes, that's where I'm getting at. Definitely a good playlist or two. Yeah, so it was the plug yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3So yeah, growing up you know everybody, bobby I used to come to my house and I would just make, like you know, music cds. Hey, raymond, make me this and all that yeah, yeah so, yeah, obviously we have, you know, surpassed that. We have music streaming now, but, um, there is still an avenue for, like you know, you know, like you know, downloading movies and stuff like that, or making your own plex server which you know I have access to my friends, plex and you know, know stuff like that.
Speaker 3So yeah, so what I wanted to get at is there is this software here that you know, if you want to share software particular, but it's got bad rap. It's got a bad negative review from, you know, the media because people use it for legal purposes. It's called QB Torrent.
Speaker 1So I'm going to drop the little B Torrent.
Speaker 3QB, what is this? So I'm going to drop the link in here for you here. So, for example, let's just say that you wanted to make your own Plex server and you want to set up movies or music on there and stuff like that. The files are usually going to be very large, so you're going to need something called a qubit torrent software. So this is what people use. So, like, if you want to make your own Plex server or stuff like that, you have to get what's called is these torrents, so you download it and you extract it, so you need a software to do that.
Speaker 3But, like I said, it gets a bad rap because people do, you know, nefarious things. They're using it for legal purposes, but various things. Or using it for legal purposes, but hey, on here I'm just saying use it, for you can use it for legitimate stuff, like if you want to share software with people, if you want to share large files, but if this is typically what people use, so I kind of want to get into this to make my own plex server, oh, so, yeah, so basically, you would, you know, oh, you know this.
Speaker 1This is a remake of uh utorrent, you remember yes, utorrent.
Speaker 3Yes, uTorrent yes.
Speaker 1Yeah, so basically you would share the torrent file and then, inside that file, it would tell you where to go download it from peers. And then if let's say that I download it, then I actually become a peer and I start to host it. Correct, and I remember one thing that I always used to do is I always used to turn off my peering yeah, yeah, so that nobody's seen what I downloaded, yeah, or? Potentially come knock on my door yeah, I accidentally downloaded.
Speaker 3Yeah, I remember, like this is what we used to do the music and stuff like that yeah back in the days, like with napster and stuff like that. So, yeah, so this is like I said, you know, use it for legitimate purposes, so, but typically this is what people use, you know, to make their plex movies and stuff like that so I'm not saying go out and download movies and stuff you know share legitimate or free software. You want you to go download movies but yeah, you know what?
Speaker 3I'm saying so yeah, so this is what they would use. I don't know what you're saying. I need you to see it you, you can get ads.
Speaker 2I'm just giving you context clues here.
Speaker 3So yeah, qvtorrent. So yeah, I definitely want to set up my own Plex server, though. Bobby D, that's what's up, bro. Yeah, so this is what they use. It's like a LimeWire.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah it's like a LimeWire, a different way of distributing files. Like LimeWire, so LimeWire. So LimeWire was more or less centralizing the links. This one says hey, the links are not in one place, they're in multiple places. You can go, try to get them and download portions of them and we'll combine them back together to create the file that you're downloading, which is actually really cool. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3So definitely yeah, if you're looking into downloading large files or software or maybe sharing it with friends, keyword sharing files or software or maybe sharing it with friends and keywords sharing yes. So yeah, this is what you would use as a qb torrent, I mean there's a bunch of them out there, yeah, but this one's open source, it's free, it's pretty good. So raymond always bringing in some free stuff, yeah, so yeah, if you're looking to make a plex server or a cody server or a music server or whatever.
Speaker 1So all I want to know is when you get set up, just share me your link. I got you so I can get access, and then I'll be downloading what I need now?
Speaker 3yeah, that's what I want. I want the power to be able to download what I want, not waiting on my friend to, like you, know whenever he updates it. So yeah that's the thing.
Speaker 1So you know yeah, that's always the thing too. Is is like sometimes when, when you are uh dependent on other people, correct, you know? Yeah, that's always the thing too. Is is like sometimes when, when you are uh dependent on other people, correct, you know, supporting or downloading content that you want, then you got to wait rather than you being able to find it yourself correct correct, because I've been waiting for a few movies and they still haven't showed up yet facts.
Speaker 3So and I'm like head-to-head, I kind of send them a text message but, like I said, the guy's got quadruplets, so I kind of like to ease off.
Speaker 1So yeah so. So one thing I will say and this is for public service announcement for any of these torrent software is um, just be careful what you're hosting, um, because, uh, you may unintentionally download something that you don't want like what like uh, some very uh inappropriate content and in the source or the people that are downloading it doesn't know that you're not the one that originally hosted it.
Speaker 1You're just hosting because you download it Right so uh, just be extremely mindful of what you're downloading and what you're hosting, um, because they can come knock on your door. They'll definitely know your IP address and we did this exercise the other day inside our community. Right From your IP address, I know literally almost where your house is, and then, uh, obviously law enforcement can come knock on that door if they need to.
Speaker 3So facts I'm not trying to scare anybody like I said, but just definitely public service announcement. Use it for you know. Free software, free in quotations free in quotations.
Streaming Service Bundling and Cable Partnerships
Speaker 1Yeah, so well. Thank you, raymond, for this nugget here. Yeah, for sure big shout outs to uh cubit torrent yeah, so next one here.
Speaker 3Question for all of you, but let me direct this at the hustle here. Um question for you guys do you have apple tv?
Speaker 1apple tv? No, I don't have apple tv do you have apple tv boat?
Speaker 3uh, d hustle, nope, okay, all right. Well, this might be difficult then for you guys, but I'm gonna share it anyway.
Speaker 2So next, question you have apple tv I do.
Speaker 3Okay, it comes with my plan, my apple plan.
Speaker 1Ah, okay, so um, yeah, what link you just dropped in here.
Speaker 3Player um, I could have swore I dropped the link for a tv show that's. You know what it looks like. I didn't put the full link in there, my bad.
Speaker 1All right, there's this guy only putting the hashtag link.
Speaker 3So, while I am doing that question for you guys, are you a sci-fi fan? Oh, yeah, I definitely love sci-fi. Okay, cool, cool. So if you like sci-fi, this is literally one of the best sci-fi shows right now. I heard it on the Joee budden podcast. They were talking about it last week and I was like what, joe budden's into sci-fi? And then he was raving about it. The whole cast was raving about it and I was like let me check the show out. I started watching it as of two days ago. This show's fire fire, if you like sci-fi.
Speaker 3This show is on apple TV. It's called Dark Matter. It's effing fire. So if you're a sci-fi fan, it's not like spaceship-y, whatever sci-fi. It's just, it's sci-fi, it's good. I don't want to give it away, but yeah. So if you're into sci-fi, you don't have Apple TV, borrow somebody's Apple TV account and check it out.
Speaker 2Just saying borrow your Apple TV account.
Speaker 3I'm fine with that. So my brother uses it.
Speaker 2So yeah, when you say you're using it as a password. I got out of touch with you. There's no other platforms that have this.
Speaker 3No it's directly for Apple TV, so it's an Apple TV original. So yeah, it's fire. It just came out like a couple weeks ago.
Speaker 1And yeah, it's good. How many episodes is it?
Speaker 3I'm on episode three. I started three last night, so I'm just chucking through it.
Speaker 1You know how many total.
Speaker 3I don't know how many total, but yeah, it's good.
Speaker 2Are we able to watch that on your beautiful other site that you provided us from?
Speaker 3No, you will, not, you will have to watch, unless I'll check if it's on there, though. But yeah, this is an Apple TV exclusive. So, gotcha, yeah, apple TV's got some hidden gems on there. They got some really hidden gems on there. They got another one on there. I'm watching, but I'm going to save that for next week.
Speaker 1I won't tell you guys what it is, yet looks like they got about six, six episodes in public seven, okay, no, no, eight, I apologize okay, oh coming this wednesday, so they they're actually not releasing them all at once. You got to follow, yeah episodically.
Speaker 3It looks like they're releasing it, so yeah, what is that called? Episodically episodically.
Speaker 1Have you heard that?
Speaker 3before yeah, episodically. They do it every week, so to keep you drawn in, yeah, oh yeah, yes, I mean incoming, not every week. I didn't know that that's what it was called yeah, that's raymond, yeah, so I prefer if they drop it all at once, but you know, they got to keep you. No, you got to keep you tight in. Don't forget you.
Speaker 1An 80s baby bro, you can't you't be living in this era where you got access to everything.
Speaker 3Netflix spoiled me yeah.
Speaker 1Netflix has killed it for everybody, bro.
Speaker 3Just drop it all at once and they killed.
Speaker 1Commercials too. Yeah, that's crazy. What were you saying D?
Speaker 2I was going to say also, house of Dragons just came out. I don't know if you guys seen that.
Speaker 3Did you watch the first episode? Yeah, I watched it. You watched the first episode. It's good, it's good man it gives you a little recap.
Speaker 1What's going?
Speaker 2on. It's crazy All right.
Speaker 1I heard a little trailer where it's dragons fighting dragons.
Speaker 2Yeah, it hasn't come up yet, but yeah, yeah, yeah, it's coming.
Speaker 1The Targaryens are fighting each other.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, we got to get. Yeah, alright, d-house is gonna bring it Nah.
Speaker 1That's.
Speaker 2Raven's Nuggets, raven's, nuggets, raven's, you're the one that's working On a promotion right.
Speaker 3Apple TV is gonna be promoting On the show or something like that Is that hey Holler at us Apple TV.
Speaker 1So let's get it, let's get it, but definitely I'm gonna check this out Once you give me your username and password.
Speaker 2Yeah, likewise.
Speaker 1Likewise, yeah, it's fine, I'll pass it on to you.
Speaker 2No, fuck that. I asked that first right here live, you guys seen it here first.
Speaker 3That's interesting. You guys don't have Apple TV on your Apple plans.
Speaker 2No we just I, just for me, it's just another streaming service.
Speaker 3Like how many?
Speaker 2fucking streams. I gotta go back to cable.
Speaker 3I mean it comes with my plan.
Speaker 2It's not like I. You know I got Disney Plus. Does that come?
Speaker 3No, I mean, well, that's cause I have Apple Music and all that, so okay.
Speaker 1You're in the whole Apple. Yeah, but I got.
Speaker 3Apple Music too, and you don't have Apple TV.
Speaker 2No, yeah, that doesn't Make sense. You might have something, I might have it. I mean, they always give me that three month.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, fucking, try out shit.
Speaker 2That's why I'm telling you, you, yeah, yeah, he's been Shout out. They're charging him. He don't even know. Shout out to Apple. That's their hustler, yeah.
Speaker 1He was like I got this for free, For free.
Speaker 2Next thing you know, Tim Cook is like yes.
Speaker 1Tim Cook is like yes, you got it for free.
Speaker 2You got it for free, but let me go ahead and swipe this. You've been my L'Oreal customer for a year and a half. Why are you leaving?
Speaker 1Oh man, but yo that's like the in talking about these bundling things. That's like the new hustle, because I don't know if y'all knew, but Hulu is actually owned by Disney+ Did you know that, yeah, yeah. So I was actually on Hulu and Hulu the other day forced me to log in. I guess it was doing clearing the cache and making people all get logged out, so it forced me to log in. But I had to log in with my disney credentials and I was like what?
Speaker 1and then it popped up hey, we got a new special.
Speaker 2You can bundle your disney and your hulu together yeah, so save some money or something, now that you say that they did have something going on like that, because, um, for example, I, um, there's espn plus, then there's the uh apple and then Hulu, all in one type of bundle I was like am I getting screwed here Because I've never seen Hulu part of.
Speaker 3Disney.
Speaker 2Plus.
Speaker 1So it's totally different, yeah, but it's part of it.
Speaker 3That's crazy. That's crazy Interesting.
Speaker 2Okay, but if you guys want to buy out Netflix also, and just give me one fucking bill, I'll take that.
Speaker 1Back to cable company. Know, yeah, man, this, this, this game with these streaming services it's a lot I think the uh, did you guys see?
Speaker 3I think the um, cable companies are partnering with the streaming services now. Are they offering now or something?
Speaker 1no, actually you can get through comcast, the xfinity box. You can access netflix directly from there. Oh yeah, so you can get through net. You can get through comcast, the xfinity box.
Speaker 3You can access netflix directly from there.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, so you can get through net, you can go through your comcast box to access netflix. So they've been doing something like that my thing is is that there's two separate bills it's totally two separate bills.
Speaker 2So are you doing this, helping me log in, so I can just log. You know, hit home and go back.
Speaker 3That's worthless.
Speaker 1I don't see your value in that, yeah I'm, I'm almost, and this is going to be the play here. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Either the cable companies are going to buy the streaming services, or the streaming services are going to buy cable companies okay, once I figure out how to watch football, I'll get rid of my cable you will, yes, yeah I cannot if you can explain to me how to watch free football over the air I will get rid of cable.
Speaker 3Well, prime has something every uh thursday it's free I'm talking about every, so I can watch the dolphins.
Speaker 1You cannot watch it without cable you have to watch the air, bro.
Speaker 3How you can get it with the bunny ears you need to get the bunny beers on top of your roof, on your house actually, actually I might, I might have a solution for you, bro, because you have bunny ears?
Speaker 1yeah, I got bunny ears so I have local channels um which the dolphins do play on hd yes um, and let me tell you, if a, if a plane flies by, it kind of messes it up a little bit, but the quality is really, really good though, um, and it only shows the dolphin local games.
Speaker 2They don't show the guys, come on, man, come on. That's old. Let's get the bunny ears out. Let's pay if he's willing to pay for apple he doesn't even know about it. Yeah, it's okay, man, cough up that 20 to 30 dollars extra and just call it forget about the button. You're driving yourself crazy, bro. I'm not even gonna. Yeah, you can do it. Well, you guys can. Guys can do it, I'm not, I'm not doing that.
Speaker 3I'll pay the extra for it when the hurricanes come?
Speaker 1you just got to take your bunny ears off the roof. That's even worse.
Speaker 3That's what I'm saying.
Navigating the Streaming Service Monopoly
Speaker 2If you can figure out a way, yeah. They just have it monopolized. Yeah, you, there was a time that there was nothing on TV and I forgot what stream. I think I went to Prime and I seen some type of sports on there and they tell me air on someday or someday. But when you go on there there is no sports playing you got to see like a rerun.
Speaker 3I'm like I don't want to see the rerun, I want to see it live. They have it completely rigged. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1And and I mean it's not like they can't do it, of course it's just that, like you said, whatever uh agreements they have or uh I don't, I don't, I really don't know what's the blocking part you have to get the app.
Speaker 3Like I said, say get rid of cable, I would have to get the nbc app. Yeah, yeah to walk peacock, yeah to watch the games or cbs, whatever the hell it is yeah, yeah, hopefully it don't go back to peak.
Speaker 2I don't got peacock, that's another streaming service. I gotta pay speaking of that.
Speaker 3You see, they're gonna be playoff games on netflix oh, word on netflix.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's fine, I got that okay, but yeah that?
Speaker 3what about the old people that don't have streaming?
Speaker 2and that's their problem I'm just saying like what little man. He's already complaining about watching stuff and now he's worried about the little man.
Speaker 3I'm just saying like people, people that complain about the Peacock. When they put the Dolphins game in the Chiefs, everybody said it was the worst thing.
Speaker 1Now they're going to do this on.
Speaker 3Netflix now.
Speaker 1So they didn't even do it over the air, because people have more Netflix than Peacock.
Speaker 3That's true, everybody has Netflix, that's true, but still, what about the people who just don't have streaming?
Speaker 1So what that got to do with you. They'll have to go to a bar that day.
Speaker 2Yeah Well people go into bars just to watch fights. Why not go to watch a game?
Speaker 3Football is supposed to be free. That's the point. It's supposed to be over the air.
Speaker 2Raymond, things are changing. Ai is out. I completely agree with you.
Speaker 3yes, People don't like what the NFL is doing with this. Yeah.
Speaker 1I mean, it's almost like you have this expectation that it should be given, like it should be given for free, like it's like it should be something everybody has access to.
Speaker 2Let's put it down to perspective here. Right, you move into a new house. You watch, want to watch TV. There is nothing on TV. You get the basic of the basic with your little bunny ears. Right, you watch, want to watch TV. There is nothing on TV. You get the basic of the basic with your little bunny ears. Right, you get frustrated. Guess what you do? You get cable, correct.
Speaker 2Right, you get streaming, so now you say you know what I can handle this shit? I can't watch a fucking game in peace. Let me get cable. So, now you got cable, now you're paying the extra money to go there. Let me get cable. So now you got cable, now you're paying the extra money to go there. Now you want to say fuck that, I want to go back to my regular struggling life and then have a chance of not watch the game. Which route are you going to go with?
Speaker 3Yeah, no, you're correct, they got you screwed either way.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's monopoly. I think in my sense, they've unfortunately forced our hands, especially if you're a sports fan.
Speaker 2And then that's where it comes out to I mean, okay, so you take that out and you still have streaming services. So hopefully it's a toss-up that hopefully you get to see the game on that streaming service. If not go to TikTok.
Speaker 3You probably have that shit. That's crazy.
Speaker 2You have that shit live, yeah, but you are right.
Speaker 1I remember that On one of those Like offerings they say hey, the game will play, but then when you go there To say this one's not streamed.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Or you still have to have A Comcast account For you to watch it On their streaming services, type stuff Like I don't understand how they lock this in Last comment on this.
Speaker 3You guys see, the NFL Is getting sued in a class action lawsuit over what? The nfl ticket. You know that nfl has the nfl ticket shows you all the football games. Yeah so the nfl ticket, you know, you know who won it last year or the year before google so to stream it to stream it.
Speaker 3so the google won the package and basically the reason why the nfl gave google the package is because google is going to charge the customers the most money. So now there's a big class action lawsuit because ESPN wanted it. Espn was going to charge the customers only $70 a year so you could watch all the NFL games. But NFL said no, no, we're going to give it to Google because they're going to charge the most. Wow.
Speaker 1So now there's a class action lawsuit, that's on YouTube TV right?
Speaker 3Yes, it's on.
Speaker 1YouTube TV. So complete it. So that's on youtube tv.
Speaker 3Yes, it's on youtube tv. So complete crap. It's not fair. Yeah, have any of y'all tried youtube tv? Ah no, I've never. I heard it's good, but yeah, with the youtube tv you still gotta pay for that right you still gotta pay for it, but when it first came out. It was so cheap. Now it's at the price of cable or more, yeah, so that's the thing about streaming again, catching up again.
Speaker 2Again, again. When I had Comcast I had cable internet. All bundle came out to be like $1.50. If you add up Hulu, netflix, espn, disney, Plus we were almost at the same price.
Speaker 3Oh, of course, yeah.
Speaker 2You're screwed. So if any of you guys want to buy a whole bunch and just give me just one, I'm more than happy that's all d said.
Speaker 1He said just give me one.
Speaker 3Just give me one, bro they have it segregated to this has this one, this has this one. You can't just watch everything on one platform.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah actually, that wouldn't be a bad feature, like. One thing that I always hate doing is well, not hate. Well, I do hate Is I'm getting to this scrolling situation where I go to like Hulu and I'm just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, looking. I go to Prime, I'm looking, looking, looking. Netflix, I'm looking, looking, looking. It's like I want all of them into one place that I can just look for.
Speaker 2And then it's like oh, it doesn't matter that it's playing on.
Speaker 3Netflix or.
Speaker 2Google or whatever Perfect example. Let me give you a perfect example. T-mobile bought Sprint up, right, so Sprint's customers now are T-Mobile. Yep, t-mobile bought Metro Guess who it is but they kept the name. Yeah, I'm happy for you guys. Yeah, yeah, just give me one fucking bill. Yeah, yeah, I'm happy for you guys. Yeah, yeah, just give me one fucking bill.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah For the day, yeah, but it is I understand.
Speaker 2You know you gotta charge. That's the way it is in life.
Speaker 1This micro charging Is like Giving them billions of dollars. Bro, they are walking away.
Speaker 2And we're supporting it.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, it is what it is. Peacock made like a killing, they said.
Speaker 1Yeah, Just for that one game.
Speaker 3I bet you Just the one game, all the people who signed up. That don't cancel.
Speaker 1Exactly, that's what they're banking for. Like Darwin, I meant Raymond. You thought you were getting Apple TV for free and you're still paying for it. Here's the catch. Here's the catch.
Speaker 2When you're going to cancel, they do the best that they can't to keep you.
Speaker 3Facts.
Speaker 2Yep A, I'm sorry, mr Martinez, I'm going to give you another six A year free, yeah, and then from there, just for you being a loyal customer, if you guys want to leave, just say Cancel my thing and call it a day. Don't get sucked up into that shit.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2If you're calling to cancel, cancel, save you, because this is what's going to happen. The end of the year happens. You forget all about that shit, of course. Next thing you know, you're built like what the fuck what?
Speaker 3Cancel that shit. You are correct.
Speaker 1Wow Well, Raymond, thank you so much for them nuggets. Yes, thank you, raymond, you got us going off on these streaming services, but we still need your password for.
Speaker 2Apple.
Speaker 1TV, so don't forget that at the end of the show. Okay, we won't put it in the Discord for everybody.
Speaker 2Definitely, definitely yeah.
Boxing and Sports Updates
Speaker 1That's what's up. All right, I guess we're moving on to our next segment. Here we got D Hustle, what's? Going on Giving us some updates on sports and what's going on out there Well first things first.
Speaker 2Tyson got his first loss. Tyson Fury. If you guys watching boxing, I'm in boxing now First loss.
Speaker 3First loss he didn't lose before. No, whoa.
Speaker 2Yeah, he lost to the number one. I can't pronounce his name. Rematch December 21st Did you watch the fight.
Speaker 2I watched partial of it. I got in there and I was like there was another game on I think it was Boston playing and I was like you know what, let me watch Boston, I can come back. Thank you for the streaming service. I can go back and watch the shit all over again. You know what I'm saying. But yeah, he lost. I'm not a big fan of Tyson he's pretty good, but it is what it is.
Speaker 3Another big fight. What was that? Did he sing after this fight?
Speaker 1Nah, he didn't sing. Why is he singing after he got knocked out, bro?
Speaker 3Well, no, he usually sings when he wins.
Speaker 2But you're right, he's singing himself, going home thinking about what we didn't do, right. A long ride home. Special shout-out also to Tank baby Beanie Martin knockout. I don't know if you guys watched that fight or not.
Speaker 3I've seen the highlights Great fight. Yeah, he's a real deal.
Speaker 2I've seen it. Hopefully, hopefully, garcia can have that rematch and see what happens really do.
Speaker 3How does Tank have so much power?
Speaker 1He's a small guy too. He's a small guy His last 20 fights are knockouts. Yeah, yeah, I mean, he's fighting in what class, featherweight?
Speaker 3Lightweight.
Speaker 1Light, lightweight. He's like the modern Mike Tyson right now. Yeah, he's like I don't know if you can.
Speaker 3His last 20 fights, Darwin, are knockouts. You're correct. I'm not agreeing. So he's the modern Tyson. That doesn't mean nothing. What do you mean? That doesn't mean nothing, Tyson, bro. The last 20 fights he's knocked people out.
Speaker 2Maybe I need him to fight a great contender Like Shakar or or who else, and knock him on. Then we can talk business that. But, like you know, why are you the man? Okay, thank you to me. To me, tank is like another, me with another.
Speaker 3Martin was. Martin was undefeated, wasn't he?
Speaker 2well, I think Martin was undefeated, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, I'm just saying, the guy you got to give him his props, here we go. Nobody's not giving him his props.
Speaker 3Alright, holy shit, I'm not saying the goat, I'm just saying the modern.
Speaker 1Mike Tyson, he's getting into the goats, maybe the modern Mayweather.
Speaker 2Mayweather didn't knock people out.
Speaker 1But I mean it's that same class. But you got to understand Tyson's heavyweight Knocking people out First second round. Yes, he's not doing this. First three rounds.
Speaker 2He is not. He's weighing into his eighth.
Speaker 1He's not doing that, don't get me wrong.
Speaker 2He's doing the knockout. He knocked out Garcia On the rear, great, hard fucking punch. I give it to him. But I would like to see him Fight, fight Like boom, not running around not coming.
Speaker 3I agree. I'd like to see that rematch this fight.
Speaker 2Maybe like a Sugar Ray Leonard, like a Sugar, you know what I would see. I would like to see Tank and Garcia again as a Mayweather and De La Hoya fight.
Speaker 3That's how I compare it. Tank is not with Mayweather though You're talking about, like as a no, he just talked about quality of fight. He's just this nigga not listening to the podcast. What is?
Speaker 2going on here, oh man. But, no, no, I mean.
Speaker 1I think it's that level of like excitement and um definitely uh a movement that could happen around that, compared to uh the Mayweather um Oscar de la Hoya.
Speaker 3Yeah, Shakur, that would be a good fight. But I mean, are they in class?
Speaker 2okay, in the same class. Okay, all right uh. So hopefully they can make something happens uh it is what it is.
Speaker 3So you know the politics in boxing.
Speaker 1I hate it so yeah, it ain't gonna happen so you know, but it is what it is.
Speaker 2The money's there or if the networks are, are there, yeah that's cool yeah, if you can knock out somebody or have a good fight, I mean, that's, I'm expecting it, that's, that's it, that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3Raymond, okay, all right.
Speaker 2All right, he is a great fighter.
Speaker 3Okay, I'm not saying he's Tyson, I'm saying he's the modern day today.
Speaker 2You know what? I'm not a big fan of Davis because, like I said, he fucks with Mayweather.
Speaker 3He doesn't Not anymore.
Speaker 2Right Used to yes Politics yeah, but again. Right used to yes Politics yeah, but again. I wouldn't mind seeing Davis and Mayweather fight. What you got to say about that one. Who will you go for? Because Mayweather's still fighting, if you guys don't know?
Speaker 3Yeah, he is, yeah, he's overseas fighting Making money. Oh, yeah, yeah, of course.
Speaker 2But he's picking his fights.
Speaker 3Yeah, he's picking his fights. Yeah, he's picking his fights.
Speaker 1So let's be realistic. Here he can get in there. You know which McCullough ready for it too. He wants that crown.
Speaker 2So it is what it is Back to our original broadcast here, gentlemen, hockey Panthers 3-1. Doing a phenomenal Tonight is the date.
Speaker 3The last game did not happen, art. Oh, it was a great game bro.
Speaker 2It reminded me of Dallas and Boston the way they came out 8-1?
Speaker 3Like big minute of your imagination.
Speaker 1It's all right, man, you guys, I don't know man, but they're bringing it home to play tonight, right?
Speaker 2Yeah, they're bringing it home to play tonight.
Speaker 1Sometimes I wonder for these fourth games, especially with the Mavericks one and also with this one with the Panthers, or Baltimore and Panthers. I wonder if they Boston, I'm saying meant to say I wonder if they're purposely losing the game so that they can bring it back home. It's a conspiracy, they say that, if you think about it, even Boston lost almost. They were down 40 points at one time.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't know if they went out to play, maybe me I would have swapped it right there. Like I said, like I said, I want to win at your house. I want all the glory, I want all the depressing fans to be out there seeing the real champion. Yeah, yeah. And then I'm gonna come out of my plane with a cigar coming down.
Speaker 1Everybody's saying I'm bringing the chip home yeah, yeah, yeah, that's, yeah, that's what I want to do.
Speaker 2If I was a player.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2That's just me.
Speaker 3Yeah, I agree.
