Speaker 1:

Welcome everyone to season two of the dive podcast. This is very exciting and I'm very excited that you're here. I wanted to make this call a very yeah. I wanted to basically share this information with you today because we have a brand new season of the dive. If you're a fellow follower of the dive podcast, we have actually been running for six months and it's been so awesome, and I just wanted to create this small episode to give you an understanding of what the past six months has looked like as the Dive podcast has progressed, because, as you can imagine, there's been so many updates and progression throughout the whole entire thing. But I also want to just tune you into what is coming with the dive podcast as well.

Speaker 1:

So, as always, I just wanted to start with a massive thank you to everyone in the community that supported the dive podcast over the past six months. It has grown so much more than I ever thought it possible, and I really didn't even want to create a podcast. It actually just happened out of speaking to my mum one day and I was creating a platform. I knew I wanted to create a platform to help emerging musical theatre performers, but I didn't know what capacity that would be, and one day she just said to me why don't you create a podcast? It could be a great way to talk about the topics I want to talk on and also potentially interview guests that are in the industry and get their feedback and advice and stories to share with emerging performers like yourself. So that has all happened. We've had 26 amazing professionals on the podcast so far and each has been so unique, and I hope that you've gained something out of the episodes, whether you've just started or you've listened to the whole entire catalogue of episodes that we've had, and I just wanted to just quickly share a bit of the achievements that we've done over the past six months as a podcast and as a community achievements that we've done over the past six months as a podcast and as a community. So, as I said, we've been live now for six months and some of the highlights I just wanted to share with you are that we've had 4,549 downloads since we began six months ago. We are now live across in 40 different countries and it's also been listened to in 178 cities, which is just wild to me, and if you're an Australian and you're from Melbourne, you are in the highest ranking of listeners in the whole entire world. We also have our UK brothers and sisters, and as well as the US as our second and third, but Melbourne, australia, australia, is just where it's at. So if you're in melbourne and you're in a listener, thank you so much. You have a total of like 3 000 of those downloads themselves just in melbourne. Yeah, 26 episodes that we've gone through, which has been awesome.

Speaker 1:

I just want you to know that all of the episodes were actually created with you in mind as an emerging musical theater performer, or if you're just a performer in the arts, and what I mean by that is, when I was putting it together, I actually reached out to a whole bunch of different students and professionals and asked them what are your struggles? What do you want to learn about? What is something that if you could be taught or learned through someone who's been there before, what would that be? And I really want to continue this and I want to continue going into the podcast itself. So, if you're listening in right now and you're going, oh, I'd love to hear from this person, or I would love to have more conversations on this topic. Comment in, message us, email us. This podcast is for you. It's for you, the listener, it is not for me, it is for you. It's for you, the listener, it is not for me, it is for you. So I really just want to be talking about things that are key and crucial to your success and fulfillment within the arts. So whatever capacity that is, please let us know and I'll absolutely be making making that a priority for upcoming episodes.

Speaker 1:

So let's just go into now a couple of the highlights that actually happened in terms of episodes. Luca Donato, our fellow coach within the dive programs that we've just been starting to announce, has been the top ranking episode out of the whole entire six months, and under that we have Todd Patrick, who came on, and then we had Sam Dodds. So if you're in PSA, it's actually been a bit of a PSA reunion, but if you're not in PSA, that's all good. Thank you to all of the followers that are part of Patrick's School of the Arts and for that amazing school that helped me actually, as an artist, develop the skills and the skills drive and the work ethic and the commitment needed to have this amazing career that I've had. So I have a big gratitude for that school. So if you're from there, keep going and no matter what school you're from.

Speaker 1:

Just know that when you are training, this is such a fundamental time for you to grow as an artist, to move forward in the industry. But yes, I just wanted to say keep going. You are learning so much about yourself and any time that we are learning and we're growing, we are expanding and that makes us have to reveal a lot of things about ourselves that we didn't know before. So it can be the toughest time, but just know that it is so rewarding and just dive all in, put your heart and soul into every single step and you will not regret it at all. Just to finish up, because I wanted to make this episode really short and sweet, I just wanted to give you an understanding of what to expect over the next six months, because we're changing up the podcast to make it more friendly, more consumable for you as an artist, but also help you tackle the things that you really want to tackle. Like I said before, please comment in, email us, message us what you want to hear about and we will make sure that all gets answered. So next six months, let's dive into it.

Speaker 1:

So what I'm going to be bringing to you is a two-week podcast slot. So what this is for the previous six months, how we ran it is that we had a brand new professional artist every single week come on. So we are continuing this. However, it's going to be every single two weeks. You will get a podcast episode every single week, but how it's going to run is like this On one week you're going to have myself actually come on, like a call like this or an episode like this, but I'm going to be going and giving you practical steps to implement right now so that you can actually use what you learn in podcast episodes or what you're learning throughout learning from the dive itself and how that can translate to you.

Speaker 1:

So I'll be giving you action steps. I may even be linking in some resources for you to go and download and work through some yoga classes all resource-based and all action-based, so that you can not only just become a listener but you can also become someone that is practically moving forward in the industry with the tools and the action steps that I've been now teaching to students inside some of the programs and offerings that we've created with the dive. Every second week, you will have a professional guest on the show, and this is going to go for the next six months. Outside of professional artists themselves, we will have professional musical theater artists on here as well, but I really want to give you the most benefit and I want to give you the most knowledge possible so that you can feel like what you're doing is supported and that you're getting feedback, information from a wide range of people to make everything make sense for you as an individual. So what does that mean? I'm going to be bringing on therapists. I'm going to be bringing on music directors and choreographers so there are other parts of the avenues that build up the musical theatre genre or industry. To make sure that you're hearing advice from all different avenues, to make sure that where you're going in your career is aligned and also you're just getting a overall insight into advice from different people in the industry. I believe this is going to go and give you the most benefit in terms of becoming a professional in the arts, and I hope you're excited too. So if you are excited, comment in, message in, and if there's anyone that you want to hear from specifically, please let us know. So that's going to be happening for the next six months One week you're going to hear from me and then on the second week, you'll be hearing from either a professional musical theatre performer or someone to aid you in musical theatre, which we love. What else do I need to tell you? I think that's basically it. I think we've covered it all.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just wanted to say one last thing that this podcast can only be created and can only keep going if you want to hear more about it. So I just wanted to emphasise the biggest thing on connecting us together as a group and sharing episodes with your friends. Just know that just the simple act of sharing an episode with someone may make their day or may help them in a way that it's helped you. Anytime you listen to a podcast episode and you feel like, oh, that could really help my friend or I, you know, maybe sending it to yourself so you can listen to it again in another time, whatever it is, just know that sharing ability is there. Make sure you subscribe and leave us comments on each of the episodes, as this will just help build us as a community.

Speaker 1:

That is the number one thing I'm looking to build over the next six months is our community.

Speaker 1:

How can we be more interactive, how can we come together more as a community, and how does this look like? And basically, that starts with you as an individual. It starts with you showing up and being active, so that I'm not just speaking to a camera and the people that we have on aren't just speaking their stories and sharing their thoughts. It's actually active and I want you to feel like you're inside the conversation. So that's all I'm going to speak on today. I hope you're so excited for the next six months of the dive podcast. I hope to include you so much more and just know that, wherever you are in your performing arts journey, that you are exactly where you're meant to be, and just know that I am here to support you, no matter where you are. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and I'll speak to you soon on future episodes. I've got my cat in my hands. Do you want to say anything? No, it's very content. See you everyone.
