Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, hey, welcome back to the King's perspective. I'm King Chiu. This is episode 9, where I talk all things trending in pop culture, whether it's film, music, sports, television or video games. So I appreciate you coming out giving me a listen. Let's go ahead and get the show started here. We're gonna get started here with film.

Speaker 1:

Here are some of the notable movies that have caught the attention of the audience. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in the spring of 1939, a top secret organization was founded in London. Its purpose was to plot the destruction of Hitler's war machine through the spectacular acts of sabotage. Okay, roadhouse, which is essentially a remake to the original Roadhouse, which had Sylvester Stallone. This one isn't being premiered in the movie theaters, this one is actually going straight to streaming on Amazon, yeah, amazon Prime. So we follow the journey of Elwood Dutton, who is a former UFC middleweight fighter, who unexpectedly finds himself working as a bouncer at a Roadhouse in the Florida Keys. However, the paradise is not what it seems, and Elwood soon discovers that the tranquil setting harbors secrets in danger. Another film here that has a bit of a remake here. Anyone but you? In this delightful adaptation of Shakespeare's much to do about nothing, we follow the unexpected romance between two seemingly incapable individuals. Despite an amazing first date, b and Ben's initial reaction quickly turned sour, however, when they unexpectedly find themselves at a destination wedding in Australia, they pretend to be the perfect couple to keep up appearances.

Speaker 1:

The hill in a small town of Texas. Young Ricky Hill wears leg braces due to his degenerative spine disease. Despite this, he possesses exceptional talent as a baseball prodigy. His strict father, james, discourages him from the sport, faring further in an injury, and urges him to pursue preaching. The family faces eviction and is relocated to Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, ricky encounters a group of children playing baseball, which reinvigorates his love for the, for baseball. And then, lastly, we have the creator, a film set in 2070, 15 years after artificial intelligence, ai, triggered a nuclear detonation in Los Angeles. Humanity finds itself embroiled in a war against AI. The conflict spans across the globe, with most Western nations fighting to prevent their extinction. However, in the region known as New Asia, comprising of South Asia, japan, taiwan, bangladesh, bhutan, nepal and India, those people still embrace AI. Okay, now we're gonna move on over to new films being released within this week Drive Away Dolls.

Speaker 1:

The film follows two contrasting characters on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, and their journey takes on an unexpected turn when they encounter a group of inept criminals along the way. Ordinary angels the story revolves around a struggling hairdresser named Sharon steves who manages to unite an entire community against all odds. The film central idea is that angels aren't just celestial beings. They also are ordinary people. Drugstore June. The story revolves around a young girl named June who still lives with her parents in a small town. When the local pharmacy is robbed, june takes matters into her own hands to saw the crime. Simultaneously, she grapples with getting over her ex-boyfriend and transitioning into adulthood.

Speaker 1:

An interesting film here called sacred soil. The piney woods school story, focuses on America's oldest black boarding school, provides a window into the ever-evolving, complex layers of the school and its students. Through the journey of several piney woods school students and staff members, it captures the emotional, physical and mental toes required to be young, black and educated in America. And then rounding it out here parallel. Vanessa is a grief-stricken woman who mysteriously finds herself navigating between parallel spaces. Again as this films a remake from parallel force from 2019 by Li Jing and this intriguing tale. Vanessa takes refuge at a lake house after losing her child, only to encounter an aberration of herself from a parallel universe. She soon realizes that the multiverse gates hold the keys to releasing her grief or trapping her forever. And then here we have films with great replay value or just films with replay value.

Speaker 1:

Toy story I remember seeing this film in the movie theaters when it released and that would have been what 95, 96 and I was intrigued in an awe of this film because a lot of us do kind of wonder with our imagination what goes on when we leave our room, especially with our toys. So this film here kind of shed some light. Even though it was fake it still engages the imagination of children. And this film here we see Woody, who's the leader of the toys, and Andy's toys, kind of you get a glimpse into a day-in-day out life of a toy, what they do, what they don't, what they like, what their dislikes are. But it's not until Andy's birthday when another toy is introduced by the name of Buzz Light here and him coming into the fold and fitting in with the other toys. And then Woody the leader getting jealousy and I'm not really sure how he feels about Buzz Light here and him and his relationship with Buzz. So much to the point where I believe at one point in the film, woody creates an accident which catapults Buzz Lightyear out the window and buzz ends up getting lost and finding his way to the next door neighbor's house and being almost dissected and experimented on by the teenage kids Sid. But it takes Woody, working through his jealousy and envy, to go and rescue Buzz just in time before Andy is toy owner, his family is moving now.

Speaker 1:

Overall, though, that film was great, singing in in Peters. I would definitely give that film a replay. That's why it's on the list and I definitely give it a 9.5 out of 10. Then we have Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which is a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy 1, where we see Peter Quill now stepping into the role of captain of the ship of the Milano, which is named after Melissa Milano from who's the boss, because Peter Quill, if you remember, is a kid who was taken during the age of 12 or 13 and during 1979 or 1980 when things were just starting to pick up a pop culture, especially in the 80s. But we see him again stepping into the role of the captain, his blossoming relationship with Gamora, but in this film they see him actually get to meet his father, eagle, the living planet, and Eagle, using him to essentially further his agenda of taking over work planet. Sorry, it's not until Quill finds out later what's going on that he decides to go against that and has to ultimately defeat his father. But that film was great too.

Speaker 1:

I know people say Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is probably by far the best, but I feel like two might be better. But that's just me. That's that's just me. Take it with how you want. But you To me was the first Western I was introduced to, and this was back during my junior high school year, not junior high, this is during high school.

Speaker 1:

During my junior year in high school, I remember being in English class and my teacher no, no, no, it wasn't English, it was World History. And with most schools, you know, there's so much learning that you'll do in books and in videos. But this time our teacher decided to let us watch that film and I remember watching the film and just being in awe of it with the outlaw of Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, played by Paul Newman and Robert Redford, their tales and journeys of going from one place to the next, robbing stagecoaches, and their camaraderie, their friendship, their relationship, even having relationships with women during this phase and being known, notorious and having to escape marshals for being outlaws on the run. I think the most telling scene for me in that film, though, was the very end where they're basically I believe it was in Mexico, and the Federala has them surrounded and they basically come out just no pun intended, guns ablaze, and thinking that they were going to escape this, this shootout, and continue on their journey. So that film, basically, is a loose biopic on the two outlaws lives. I don't know if they probably even got it. If they did have a shootouts quite like that, I don't believe it probably even played out the way they did where they basically come out guns blazing and shooting and things of that nature. They probably were taken in, probably sleeping, cut off guard. It was my best guess, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed that film when I saw that back my junior year in high school.

Speaker 1:

Let's see back to the future. The first, because the first sets up essentially everything we need to know about the rules on parallel universes, time travel, and we get introduced to Doc and Marty McFly and their adventures during this film, by far one of the best dealing with time travel in time in general, and I believe, honestly, when people are making films. I know Rick and Morty and I think as well with Avengers. I hate to keep bringing up Marvel, but I believe when it was in game behind the scenes, when they were creating that film and they were dealing with time travel, they use certain aspects of Back to the Future for their film when it dealt with rules of time travel. So I would say Back to the Future is a standard when it comes to dealing with films with time and time travel. So kudos to that film.

Speaker 1:

And then, lastly, idiocracy. This film was made back in 2005. And the best way to put it. It's a film that starts off with this guy by the name of Joe. You see him in the library and he's a librarian for the army. Just kind of just everyday Joe just going through life. He's called upon, though, to be used in the US Army's experiment for time capsule for freezing people and coming back in roughly about a year's time to see if it actually worked. Well, during that time, the US Army that is conducting this experiment shuts down that department.

Speaker 1:

So you essentially have Joe being frozen from a time of 2005, going onward into 30, 40 years, and him having to learn how to live and adapt in a future that is dumb. I mean so dumb when the simple basic things of using a litmus test of squares and shapes, fitting a, as they say, fitting a peg into a round hole it seems to be the right way to do things, but it isn't. So they have a way of trying to find what job best suits you depending on basically doing that test. Joe is thrown off, though, because these tests are so easy. He's not even sure if he's doing it correct because it's coming so easy. So he scores extremely high on this test, and it catapults him to the point where he becomes president of the United States and is caught upon to fix the world's issues. Mainly, one of the main things is how to grow crops, and the world has gotten so dumb they thought, well, we can just put Gatorade on anything and it will help grow crops. And Joe's like no. I know one thing If you put water on things for the most part, especially crops it will help them grow, and, sure enough, over time, putting water on things, it shows that it helps the crops grow, and then people actually start leaning into Joe as the smartest man on earth at that point in time. So he's having to go back and redo things from years of 40 and 50 years ago to re-correct society.

Speaker 1:

Now onto the genre of music. So recent happenings in music Megan Trainor stars alongside Judge Judy in a elf cosmetic Super Bowl commercial. Quite the unexpected duo. Ozzy Osbourne calls Kanye a anti-Semite for sampling his music without permission. So the backstory on that is Kanye just put out an album called Vultures, part 1, with tie dollar sign, and one of the songs on the album has a song sampled by Ozzy Osbourne I believe it's Iron man. Well, within the sampling game, for the most part you have to reach out to the record production company and artists to get these samples cleared. Well, it looks like he tried to do that and it didn't get cleared. So he went ahead and did it anyway and with that Ozzy Osbourne caught wind and decided to go on a tie rate against Kanye West and also calling him that name and also threatened to do some legal action. But he's not the only one. Donna Summers Estate also is seeking legal action for Kanye West as well, because on that album he uses one of her songs I believe it's Feel Love. But on the album for Vultures he has a song called I Think the Good, die, younger, don't Die, and it samples her song and he did not get permission and just basically used that song. So now they're seeking legal action. So it's like what a week to be. Kanye.

Speaker 1:

Justin Timberlake has added a 15 show tour for Forget Tomorrow tour and fans are thrilled about it. It looks like usually when you start doing a tour, then you're gearing up for a new album or new music to be released. So what I would anticipate is him to go on this tour and then also explicitly play new music from an album that he has coming up, but also probably branch back to previous albums as well while he's on the tour. To kind of help spread out the time, usher is embarking on an exciting musical journey with his past, present and future tour. This 24 city trek will showcase the pop and R&B superstars, hits from 30 year career, along with songs from his upcoming coming home. The tour kicks off in August 20th at Capital One Arena in Washington DC and concludes with a two show event in Chicago in October 28th and the 29th.

Speaker 1:

Upcoming artists you should keep an eye on Luna Vega, a singer-songwriter known for her soulful music With retrospective lyrics. Herbland of R&B and indie electric sounds has been gaining attention. Oscar Wilde not to be confused with the famous writer, is an indie pop artist with a unique vocal style. His debut, electric Dreams, has been making waves. Zara Sky is a rising star in the alternative rock scene. Her powerful vocals, emotionally charged songs, have captivated listeners. Kairos, an electric music producer who seamlessly blends ambient house, experimental sounds. His track evokes a sense of otherworldly beauty. And then, lastly here, ruby Sparks is a folk pop artist whose storytelling abilities shine through her music. Her debut album, whispering Woods, has garnered praise.

Speaker 1:

Now on to the famous genre here that I've created here On the music scene here, weekly, famous musicians from their state, and this time we're going to check out Utah Imagine Dragons, originally from Proval, utah and Dragons blend alternative rock, pop, electric elements. Their hits, like Radioactive and Believer, have captivated them to global fame. The Piano Guys, the Tantal to Group from St George, utah, skillfully combines classical music with modern twist, captivating YouTube performances such as their rendition of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata resonate with audience of all ages. The famous family group, the Osmans, jewel and Lindy Sterling. And then also some notable acts. I'm not a notable act. Some other notable mentions here David Archuleta and Neon Trees. So then, that rounds out there our music. So we're going to move on here to sports.

Speaker 1:

So for the MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw to a one-year contract with a player option for 2025. After Munster Seasons in 2023, shehoney Ohtani and Ronaldo yeah, acuna Jr set the bar high with many wondering who will be the MVP favorite for 2024. The Texas Rangers have inked a two-year contract with star outfielder Odaldus Garcia, guaranteeing him a $14 million. Guaranteeing him $14 million. The deal could reach $20 to $25 million based on his performance for the season. So that's a lot of money there. But I am definitely in the wrong, wrong filled industry of working. I need to get into baseball. If I can just be a catcher at this point behind the dugout light, please let me. It will be.

Speaker 1:

As making a big waves in its commitments to the franchise players, the Warriors extend, with Jr and Astrosic here, jose Altunov through 2029. These long-term deals are shaping MLB's landscape. So what they're essentially doing here is locking in and locking in early to their players and giving them big contracts because they believe in them, and they're signing them for long-time deals, which means also long-term money, which I mean makes sense, because if you are seeing a player that is showing potential to promise within their second and third year, and their potential or trajectory is only up from there. It would say the trajectory is to go up for the next 10 years, to be at their peak. Then why not lock in, right? So that's going to be the trend, that's going to be the wave. Now you can do that in baseball. You really don't see it often, though, in NFL and NBA. Maybe NBA, because I could see a team like, if we knew what we knew now, the longevity that LeBron was going to have, I'm pretty sure Cleveland would have tried to essentially lock LeBron in for at least 15 years if possible, but that would have been a massive contract. Well, with the MOB, I'm getting out of the tangent, sorry. As we approach the start of the season, all 30 teams, pitchers, catchers are reporting to spring training. The season will kick off the sole series between Dodgers and Padres in South Korea. The anticipation is building as we're less than six weeks away from the first pitch. Okay, so that rounds up the MOB. Now on to the NBA. Now.

Speaker 1:

On February 9th, the Lakers unveiled the first of three statues that will celebrate the career and legacy of Kobe Bryant at the Star Plaza outside the Crypto Arena dot com. Crypto dot com arena. Sorry the pose. The 19 foot 4,000 pound statue depicts Bryant in his white number eight jersey that he wore for the first half of his 20 year career, with his right index finger raised as he walked off the court following his 81 point performance in 2006. So to me, this I wouldn't say it's unheard of, but it's crazy because but in a good way, because he's the only player that I know of uh in the NBA that has not one, but three statues commemorating his career. Now this one here, for the most part, is again at the crypto dot com arena, uh in the heart of downtown LA, and the other two, I assume, that are going to be there as well, um, around that crypto dot com arena. Um, I haven't heard if there's going to be uh other statues. The other two statues somewhere else. I assume they're going to be there. So it's going to be interesting to see what the other two, when they get available, what they look like.

Speaker 1:

Uh, point guard. Uh Spencer Demlody became a free agent after being traded from the nets to the raptors. Uh has clear waivers and has joined the Lakers. So they're looking to the Lakers, um, they're looking to gear up for the second half of the season. Last time I looked they were number nine in the Western conference. Um, so they're like I think it was like nine games out of eighth place. So with this signing of Spencer, they're hoping that adds more offensive firepower for them. So then that way they can um get back to once where they were last season, where they made it to the Western conference finals. What they're hoping is that they can get back to that point and win, and win a championship this season. Um, and then they're also hoping that this off season that they sign uh. There's been rumblings of another star to join with LeBron, anthony Davis. Um, and they're saying that this piece that they signed in the soft season will be a very complimentary piece to Anthony Davis and in talks to sign LeBron James son, brony Jr. Um, uh, what I mean by sign is through the draft, uh, so they just got a lot going on here. Uh.

Speaker 1:

The Philadelphia 76ers are hopeful that Joel and B can return this season. Team president, uh. Daryl Moray uh has expressed optimism about uh MB's recovery Again, and we have reported on this uh last week or the week before Tor Minescas or yeah, so it requires uh surgery? Maybe not, but they're hoping that he can take out the rest of this season, but then come back by the time of the playoffs. Gordon Haywood, an all star in the 2016, 2017 with the Utah Jazz, is headed back to the West to play with the Oklahoma city thunder Uh. Best spot the land for him, um, because he was in Charlotte and it was going nowhere fast. But at least with this Oklahoma city thunder team they're young, up and coming and they're actually second in the West right now. Um team is is doing well Um, so I think with his veteran leadership, he can come in and add a little um, spark his know-how and be very productive off the bench. Um. And then the eighth annual basketball without borders global camp will bring together 40 top high school age prospects from 22 countries and territories.

Speaker 1:

All right, now onto the NFL. Uh, this is merely just uh. The NFL season has ended, so now we're going to get into the awards that were given before the Super Bowl. So for the most valuable player, it goes to Lamar Jackson, the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens. No surprise, I will say he did have great numbers. I definitely thought CJ Stroud could have been an honor. I'm not sure what the votes were for, but Lamar Jackson, I mean I feel like it was definitely deserved, but I just feel like losing still to Patrick Mahomes. But again it's Patrick Mahomes, two Patrick Mahomes, and then the divisional round game. It would have set better with me if he would have won that game and got onto the Super Bowl in, regardless of the outcome, whether he won or not. But I just feel like if he would have been able to get past Pat Mahomes then that would have been great. But all this is taken into account before. Well, no, this was actually taken into account, even with that information. But I guess at that point in time, when you look at what Lamar had accomplished during the season, you know still deserving.

Speaker 1:

Oh, to my guy here, offensive rookie of the year, cj Stroud of the Houston Texas. I mean he put up phenomenal numbers and in his first season it was well deserved Won a playoff game and got onto the second round but lost. But I mean we expected him to. You know, with the way he was going, that he could have won that game. But you know also, at the same token, it's like, is it rookie? You know you can't expect too much or you know, not much is expected. But coming into next season, definitely what he's shown us. It's going to be OK. You saw what you did last season. We need that, but more of it. So now it's like you know those are going to be big shoes of fill and essentially each year in any sport it's like each year you have to add on a new layer to your game. And when you add on a new layer to your game it only helps you or propels you into legendary status and at least a championship at some point. But Walter Payton, nfl man of the year, goes to Cameron Hayward of the Pittsburgh Steelers, ap defensive player of the year goes to Miles Garrett. And then on to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

The Kansas City Chiefs Emerge victorious and Super Bowl 58, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in a tense battle. The final score was 25 to 22. I watched the game from the beginning to end. The first half was it was the first half was definitely dominated by the 49ers and it looked like, ok, the 49ers are going to break through here and win their Super Bowl and revenge their losses from years previous. But the resolve, the resilience of Patrick Mahomes showed Also the Chiefs just their will. They didn't want to go away and then, for the most part, you got to remember, they are the defending champs at this point. So they're in the Super Bowl for a reason and they don't want to lose. So at this point they're defending their title and they defended it pretty well.

Speaker 1:

Like I said, there were points in that, that that game, where it definitely seemed like things weren't going so hot or so well for them, but they turned it around in that second half and pushed it to overtime. Now I know a lot of people are going to say, well, that overtime, with the 49ers deciding to take the ball and score and then have to turn around and kick it off, I mean, the overtime rules have changed and for me, I thought what the 49ers did, especially the coach did, was perfect in the sense of if you want the ball, you want to beat Patrick Mahomes, you go and score touchdown. Now the team ultimately kicks it back off to the other team after scoring, which would have been the Chiefs, and then it's on the Chiefs all pressure to basically match what just happened with the touchdown as well. If they don't, then the game's over. So I can understand what Kyle Shanahan was doing there. So I definitely went harp on him too much about oh man, he messed up. He should have kicked it off and let them do it like no. It was totally OK with how things played out, with receiving the ball and trying to go and score.

Speaker 1:

First Onto the NHL, the Dallas Stars secured their 10th win in 14 games, with Tyler Seguren scoring twice against the Montreal Canadiens. The St Louis Blues defeated the Buffalo Sabres, with goalie Joel Hoffer making 33 saves and Adam Nabors scoring twice. Florida Panthers defensive man McKinsey Wagner scored a hat trick and a victory against the New York Islanders. And then the upcoming NHL stadium series features the New Jersey Devils facing off against the Philadelphia Flyers, with performances by AJR and the Gaslight Anthem. All right, so that rounds out the sports there, and then we move on here to television and popular TV shows that have been making waves in 2024. We have Mr and Mrs Smith season one, combining spy hijinks with relationship drama. The show stars Donna Glover and Maya Sink delivering chemistry and charm.

Speaker 1:

Grisilda, season one. Now, this is interesting because I didn't realize that it was a season one. I thought it was just on Netflix Grisilda, taika-mogorzo the Blanco, and now it was just pretty much it. But it has. Just that's just season one, so it looks like it's coming back for another season to tell more on. Her has been Hotel season one as a current Rotten Tomatoes score of 81%, so it was a really good show. And then Curb your Enthusiasm.

Speaker 1:

Season 12, episode two, entitled the Lon Jockey. So with this one here with Larry picks right up after episode one, where he basically is thrown into jail. He's seen coming out of jail at this point in time and going and being picked up from his friend and manager, jeff, staying at a, I think, an Airbnb or rental home in Atlanta. But as he's going to this home he's greeted with a Lon Jockey, a black Lon Jockey, and he's kind of feeling indifferent or shamed. So he basically is saying, hey, we need to get rid of this. I don't think this is cultural appropriation or appropriate to be on the Lon. So during the episode you see him trying to devise ways of getting rid of it and he ultimately does. But in getting rid of the Lon Jockey, just trying to take it and move it to the garage, he breaks it. Well then, breaking it. Now he has to go find another Lon Jockey and asking people for a black Lon Jockey, which is not common to see in the South. So he gets the bright idea to buy a white Lon Jockey, paint it with hair dye. But it's hot in the South, so you see the Lon Jockey hair paint coming off of the Lon Jockey and that becoming disastrous. So the episode was pretty interesting, to say the least. So it's a step up from the first episode, which I felt was a little flat, but this one picked up and it was a little better.

Speaker 1:

Vendor Pump Rolls, season 11, episode three, entitled You're Not the Queen of the Group. Again, we see this picking up right after episode two with Santa Ball coming back right at his birthday party talking to Tom Schwartz about his encounter with James Kennedy and him still meeting Tom Santa Ball trying to fit in with the group because it's still reeling from the scandal. Then his ex-Ariana Maddox still moving on and becoming very popular on Broadway and again, ultimately what I'm seeing here is just Tom Santa Ball still trying to find ways to pick himself up off the ground and move forward after his mishap. He did also sit down and speak with Lisa Vendor Pump and try to get some guidance and try to figure out how ways to move forward and be cool with everybody. So it will be interesting to see how episode four goes, because I know they're supposed to be doing some type of outreach or outing with everyone in the group, including Tom Santa Ball in Colorado.

Speaker 1:

New and upcoming releases we have Ninja Kamai, a former ninja. Joe Hagen-Hij from his violent past in rural America with his family as his former organization, seeks Retribution, love. And Jane Lilly, a hopeless romantic and literary enthusiast, gets a surprise from her lifetime of her lifetime, sorry, when her favorite author, jane Austen, comes into her life. Accidola influencer Chronicles the Unexpected Rise, the fame of a Taiwanese woman who inadvertently becomes a social media sensation on her 30th birthday, abducted off the street. The Carl's Carlisha gather story an abducted woman tries to outsmart her captor while her mother stops at nothing to find her. We have Atlanta, which essentially is a show that stars Donald Glover, where it essentially shows the life, day in and day out life, of Ern, darius, alfred and Vanessa. Essentially, as the show goes on, you see Ern become the manager to Alfred, his cousin, a rapper called Paperboy, and the hijinks that they get into, especially with Darius. While all this is going on, he's still trying to nurture the relationship that he has with Kazan, again Offing, and girlfriend Vanessa. Highlights of the show, I would say, are Tony Perkins, lost in the Woods, and then the season two, I would say, which was entitled Robin season, where you see essentially all the characters being robbed of something, whether they're being robbed of love, robbed of money, robbed of time. But it had a central theme there, but overall it only spanned four seasons. But overall the show was great. I think it's probably one of the best creative things that I've seen Donald Glover do and come out of.

Since Community we have House MD. The series follows the life of antisocial painkiller, addicted, witty and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House, with only half a muscle in his right leg, and his team of medical doctors try to cure complex and rare diseases from very ill ordinary people in the United States. Phenomenal show. When I seen the show for the first time I was kind of like leery of it, wasn't sure what it was all about. But watching the show and each and every episode, watching the genius of Dr House and the experts not the experts, but his team saw these complex illnesses was just interesting. It was great. At that time I hadn't seen anything like that.

Monk the series follows Adrian Monk, a brilliant former San Francisco detective who now consults the police as a private consultant while battling OCD. So you see all the hygiene that he has to deal with while living his life with OCD and solving complex crimes. Interesting fact and I just found this out I had no idea that it had span a movie, standalone film that just came out in 2023 called Mr Monk's Last Case. If you have time I would definitely watch it. You can catch it on Peacock Arthur. I know what you're thinking. Yes, arthur from the Arthur Brown series of books illustrated by Mark Brown, yes Arthur was created back in October 9th 1996. I remember seeing the debut. I wasn't all on the books, but I watched them every so often. I mean, I looked at the book and read the books every so often. So it was interesting seeing the TV show of Come to Life based on the books. So I watched it every so often and I would definitely say and it still has replay value now. If you have young children or you're just interested in just wholesome TV show with a brother and a sister and their hijinks, definitely check that out.

Speaker 1:

X-men who doesn't love X-Men From the animated series? That was back on 93 or 94, I believe is the time of debut? Great show because you know everybody's into comic book Well, I would say everybody. Now I can't say that I can't speak for everybody, but anyone who is a comic book lover, especially of Marvel, x-men the Animated Series, is a great one because you get to see the likes of Professor X, magneto Cyclops, jean Grey, wolverine Beast, storm Come to life on the screen. And, fun fact, they actually will be starting X-Men the Animated Series 97 here shortly In March on Disney Plus. So it's making its way back. But, um, yeah, it definitely gave me a new sense of love for comic books and comic book characters.
