Speaker 1:

Yo, welcome back to the King's Perspective, episode 16. Yes, that's right, episode 16. Running concurrent 16 weeks straight. Which podcaster you know they can do that? That's a humble brag. I'm just chilling, don't don't, don't crucify me, just chilling, I'm just playing, I'm just playing, stop, stop. But no, this is episode 16, week 16. Like I said, running concurrent, consistent.

Speaker 1:

Back to do my weekly episodic episode here of pop culture, of everything going on with my perspective and some of the interesting finding facts that I will present here, of film, music, sports, television and video games. So I'm here, I'm back. The show wouldn't be what it is without my loyal listeners here peeking in, whether it be for five minutes or the whole show. I appreciate you stopping by and showing love and support. So let's go ahead and get the show started here with film. So what I found here just doing some research, as usual, most popular movies that audiences are enjoying right now from either theaters or the comfort of their home Ghostbusters, frozen, empire the sequel offers a dose of nostalgia for fans of the original, but a crowded cast and surprisingly serious tone hold back from truly shining. The Spangler family returned to the iconic New York City firehouse in this installment, so sounds like here it's doing too much. So basically, what I'm seeing here is that a lot of times when you're doing a franchise film, you always want to pay homage to those that came before or an Easter egg films before, and I'm going to have to. You know I always say seeing is believing. I can hear about it, but I have to see it and it sounds like it just they probably try to just cram from the OG Ghostbusters up until this point, even the ones that were the female cast possibly. But sometimes if it just doesn't fit right in the film and you're trying to cram this character or that character in paying homage or an Easter egg, it may feel awkward or out of place. It's like, oh, we just brought back Bill Murray just for the sake of Bill Murray being here, and it's just like, hey, you know this doesn't really fit. So, but you know, don't take my word for it. You know, if you're a big fan of the franchise, definitely check it out, see if it's really truly what my synopsis is or if it's not, let me know. You can find me on X at KingChill and you can respond to me via just sending me a good old DM or just a regular old message, I'll respond. Another film that audiences are enjoying right now is the remix let's just put it like that the remix of Roadhouse, and again I'll give you my synopsis here.

Speaker 1:

In a journal-filled reimagination of the 80s cult classic featuring ex-UFC fighter Dalton, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, a bouncer. And the only thing I've heard about it was they said that for a film that should be practical and just kind of true to form, it had so much CGI in it. It's ridiculous. So a film like that you wouldn't think would need CGI, but apparently it did, and with it being CGI and some of it, it threw some of the fans for a loop. So, with that being said, I was never a fan of the OG. That just that particular film. It just as a kid it screamed like bar fights. Okay, cool. You know I was more into John McClane, die Hard, tango and Cash with Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell. Let me see, what else did we have out there at that time during those late 80s, early 90s, early 90s and mid 90s films Demolition man, judge Dredd, things of that nature. So this one to me just wasn't my cup of tea. But I had family members that liked it. So again, it wasn't a film then or now that I'm going to check for.

Speaker 1:

Another film that's making some popularity here is Late Night with the Devil, a delightfully dark possession horror film about Jack Delroy, host of a syndicate talk show called Night Owls, and this intriguing tale so yeah, it's what I've seen on the trailer. It's about exactly that a late night talk show host who's trying to get ratings and it happens to do a show on Halloween, and in doing the show on Halloween he comes across all types of antics he's trying to pull, but he actually comes across the right one and pulling a person who supposedly is possessed, and in doing so it throws the whole show off and goes off the rails more than what he thought it would. But it's been making rounds and getting critical acclaim for the horror genre. It's not my cup of tea, but this is what's trending at the moment. So now new releases that will be out for this week.

Speaker 1:

We have Civil War story unfolds in a new, near future America that is embroiled in a second American Civil War. The narrative follows a team of journalists as they traverse the United States. A team of journalists as they traverse the United States, which is now divided between American government and the separatist Western forces led by Texas and California, sorry. The film explores the journalist's struggle to survive in a time where the US government has turned into a dystopian dictatorship and bipartisan extremist militants militia sorry are committing war crimes. So I've seen the trailers from that and the the biggest joke that I've seen come across it and I'm sure it's a good film is that people are like man, this is not the civil war that I'm used to, this isn't my civil war.

Speaker 1:

And I was like I was seeing this on x and I was like what are they talking about? And these dudes had the nerve. People, people literally were on Twitter talking about this isn't the Civil War that I'm used to. They're making reboots of Civil War and this isn't the one that I'm used to. And they're talking about Civil War from Captain America, captain America Civil War. When you had the factions between Captain America and Iron man and I was like yo, like there's like, where's Iron man, where's Captain America? Where's Hawkeye, where's Scarlet Witch? They were joking.

Speaker 1:

But of course, essentially that Marvel film that was made back in 2015 Captain America Civil War basically was titled Civil War, but you know, the backdrop was Captain America Civil War. But, um, this is no way to be confused by that Marvel film and this film here. But, um, from what I have seen on the trailers though, um, it seems very interesting and it's true to what is there in this film about. Um, you know, second, uh, civil war breaking out between certain states and the government basically turned into his back. But you've seen it time and time again. When you are watching films, um, that have to deal with, uh, post-apocalyptic things or close to it, like Purge, any of these zombie movies they all start dividing states teaming up against one another to topple the local government and state government I mean state government and then the government itself and then the government itself.

Speaker 1:

The film that I'm interested here and seeing how it plays out is Don't Tell Mom, the Babysitter is Dead. Now I'm going to read my synopsis to you and then I'm going to also give you my thoughts on the film, because if you heard me read that correct and you said, wait, it sounds familiar. It's not like I've heard of this film before. It's because you have. Now, this is a bit of a twist. The film stars Simone Joy Jones as Tanya Crandell, who finds herself, finds her summer plans upended when her mother leaves for retreat and the babysitter unexpectedly passes away. So this is going to be exclusively BET plus, from what I saw, and this film is basically a remake, reboot, remix of the original, but but they uh, majority all black cast. Um, if you've seen the first one with Christina Applegate um, it's essentially from the trailer. You could put them up side by side from the 1991 to this one here in 2024. And it's going to look damn near similar.

Speaker 1:

I was a fan of the original because at that point in time when I was growing up seeing the film, I hadn't seen anything like it before the 1991 version. And essentially, the children there's I think there's like four kids in there or maybe five and the mother goes away and you have the oldest child basically left to be in charge of the other siblings and the oldest sibling happens to well, has to basically get a job to support the family until the mother gets back and she ends up getting a job at the time in a high-end corporate fashion job and all the antics that ensue on top of the babysitter dying. So they end up having a summer that was supposed to be fun and it had to. Things got real real fast for them and they had to grow up quick, fast, in a hurry, and survive until their mother got back. It was interesting, though, to see, you know, kids that were my age or a little bit older in a film doing adult things, so I always find that fascinating whenever I see films like that. So this film here being released is a remake, and I'll probably, if I get the opportunity to sit down and watch it, I will, and I'm pretty sure it's going to play out exactly the same way, bar for bar, maybe a little variation, but it's a reboot, so we'll see how it goes.

Speaker 1:

And then, arcadian is a post-apocalyptic horror thriller. The story takes place in the near future, where civilians or civilization has collapsed and every night after the sun sets, ferocious creatures emerge to terrorize the survivors. The film follows a family struggling to survive a half life of tranquility by day and torment by night, as they face the unrelenting attacks of these mysterious and violent beings. Yeah, I can already just tell watching a film like that, it's it would be crazy. Be crazy because you're going to be tranquil in the movie theater, Like, oh yeah, this film is getting along together. And then all of a sudden it's like. When night falls, that's when all the creepy-ish starts happening. It kind of reminds me of I Am Legend, with Will Smith. During the daytime he was good, you know, none of them creatures were bothering him. But, like the song says, the freaks come out at night, and then that's when everything was on and popping. Will Smith was trying to survive for his life. So I assume it's the same way with this film. Here it's like you're almost wishing for 24-7 sunshine so that you don't have to deal with this issue like those in Alaska with the consistent sun, but then you run into some type of delirium like that. So you pick your poison at that point. So yeah, so those are the new films that you're going to be looking at for this week.

Speaker 1:

And then now onto films with great replay value. We have Shallow Hal. After being hypnotized by life coach Tony Robbins, hal begins to see people's inner beauty instead of their outward appearance. He then meets and falls in love with Rose Rosemary sorry played by Gwyneth Paltrow, played by Gwyneth Paltrow A kind and generous woman who is largely obese but appears to howl as a slender and beautiful due to his hypnosis. Yeah, I remember seeing this in the movie theaters with my cousin, gwyneth Paltrow, as the main female, and then Jack Black as a main character, male starting or male actor, main male actor and then his supporting sidekick in that film would be Jason Alexander, who you would know as George from Seinfeld. Seinfeld Oof couldn't get it out, but the film is another fairly Brothers classic.

Speaker 1:

You know them from Me, myself and Irene. That's the other film I'm thinking of. I can see it. It's Ben Stiller, something about Mary. Also. Probably for me one of their favorite films would have to be Kingpin. That's what Woody Harrelson and I cannot think of his name, I think it's, I don't know if it's Dennis or Randy Quaid, but essentially just long story short.

Speaker 1:

It's about a guy who was a washed up bowler meets this Amish kid who's a phenomenal athlete at bowling and tries to be his mentor and manager and all the shenanigans that they get into with that. But this film here is another one of their classics and yeah, the hypnosis really did one on how to where. Basically everyone he thought he ran into was a 10 and they really weren't. It wasn't until his hypnosis broke. Then he started seeing Rosemary for who she really was on the outside and everyone surrounding him as well that he was hitting on because he was being generous and nice to these people who most people in society did not even give a chance to, these people who most people in society did not even give a chance. So his hypnosis basically helped those around him and he still decided to date Rosemary even after his hypnosis broke and married her and a lot of those people that he ran into under hypnosis became friends with. So it had an underlying message there, but it had great comedic timing and a lot of laughs.

Speaker 1:

Within the film. We've got one here by Mr Christopher Nolan Memento, a mind-bending thriller, told in reverse chronological order, keeps viewers engaged as this piece together the puzzle. Its unique structure, invites multiple rewatches. Again, christopher Nolan, if you like trying to figure things out with mind-bending things, this is right up your alley. I would say another film would be Inception, which I was just talking to my guy Green Lantern today about Towards the end, about Inception, about my last episode. Did he, did he not? Was it real, was it not? I would also say another one that's right up that alley as well, that he did here recently would have been well, no, recently would have been Oppenheimer. So before Oppenheimer would have been Tenet. Tenet was told in a way of things with time and being in reverse, so you really couldn't tell with that one as well.

Speaker 1:

But he's good man, he's really good at telling these stories where you just can't really tell where it's going. And then you got to go and scour Reddit, scour X, and type it in and see what people's thought process were, to see if they were on the same wavelength as you. I think it wasn't until probably a few years later that he's come out and said that I think with Inception it was kind of open ended. So we still don't know if you know Cobb was, you know, in a dream state or not. He also did it with the dark night rises, where you know we see Batman right off in the distance with that bomb.

Speaker 1:

And I know it said that the it showed that the injection, the seat eject, was malfunctioning. So we didn't know. But then it said something about with Lucius Fox saying that it had been repaired after you know. Quote unquote Bruce Wayne, batman died. But the scene at the very end where you see Alfred races glass to what it appeared to be Bruce Wayne, batman died. But the scene at the very end where you see Alfred races glass to what it appeared to be Bruce Wayne. Was that a figment of his imagination or was Bruce Wayne really there? So that's another thing. With Christopher Nolan he does. He likes to mess with your mind. So I think people asked him about that and he was kind of very cheeky about that and just wouldn't really give a full on answer. So it's hard to say.

Speaker 1:

And then, lastly, a fan favorite here with replay value Goonies. In the quiet Goon Docks neighborhood of Astoria, oregon, a group of kids who call themselves the Goonies, including Mikey, data, mouth and Chunk, face the imminent foreclosure of their homes due to the expanding country club. Determined to save their beloved neighborhood, they embark on a final weekend adventure. So, yeah, these kids decide and again, for me growing up seeing this film, it would have been after the fact, it would have been by the time I would have watched it in well, 1991. It was still a cult classic by then Decided to go on this adventure to find this lost gold, by what was it? One-eyed Willie, I believe, is what he called him and trying to find this treasure, which eventually they do. But they go on this journey that had so many twists and turns. Go on this journey that had so many twists and turns escaping the Fratelli family. That were crooks and that adventure in itself was just fun. I think there's not a time, probably during the holidays, where this film isn't on, or during the summer, because it's a cult classic that people don't sit down and watch it and recollect on great memories of where they were or watching it with family members or whatnot. So it's an A1 film in my book where it can be watched multiple times. All right. So that ends film.

Speaker 1:

Now we're going to transition over to music and we're going to get into famous musicians from North Dakota. Now we have Lawrence Woke, achieved emerged success in recording and performing artists. He later hosted the Lawrence Woke Show in Los Angeles which ran until his retirement in 1982. Bobby V career spans five decades as a recording artist. Started with his first single, suzy Baby. Had several other hits in the early 1960s, including Take Good Care of my Baby. Familiar with that song, I've heard that before, didn't know it was him. And then Peggy Lee, the legendary female jazz singer, actress and composer. Peggy Lee was born in Jamestown, north Dakota, in 1920. Her illustrious seven-decade career began with singing in Benny Goodman's band Big Band. Got to get that correct on the radio. Lee's hits like Fever and Big Spender. Wow, okay, so she was the one that did that, gotcha, all right.

Speaker 1:

So new music releases to keep an ear out for. We have Vampire Weekend. Only God Was Above Us. Description of Vampire Weekend's urgent music on how history happens, making some of their most moving and jaw-droppingly audacious music. Jose James, 1978, rainbow Blonde. Description Broader than its title implies. The singer's 12th album incorporates slick disco, modern, quiet storm and moving response to racist killings. Jane Weaver love consistent, spectacular description. Still beaming in its form from unknown galaxy, this cosmic indie songwriter turns in her most human-sounding set of songs. So some new artists that you can check out with when they release these albums here.

Speaker 1:

And then let's see some other artists to watch out for. Love Spells, this 18-year-old Houston artist creates dreamy indie rock and pop music that feels both fresh and timeless. Their song Come Over and Love Me captures bittersweet nostalgia, resonating with a familiar tune you've heard countless times. By time, the artist weaves intricate electronic textures and ambient sounds through their music, invites listeners into a reflective and otherworldly space. And let's make sure I'm pronouncing this artist's names correctly A Mandy genre defining approach, fuses reggae, r&b, alternate pop. Her laid-back style and captivating storytelling set her apart. So those are other new artists to watch. So the one prior to that I was reading not only were new artists, but there are well, fairly new, dropping new projects and material. And then these are brand new artists that I'm reading off at the very end that you should be on the lookout for, if you ever hear their name, give them a listen.

Speaker 1:

Now on to sports MLB. Now, on April 8, 1974, the legendary entertainer Sammy Davis Jr and future president Jimmy Carter were among the dignitaries who eagerly arrived at Atlanta Fullerton County Stadium to witness Hank Aaron's iconic home run. Vince Scully, who just recently well, I won't say recently, but passed away, iconic voice of the LA Dodgers, an unknown up and coming namer, up and coming named sorry Craig Sager, were present that on that historic night. So, as of me recording this, this is the anniversary of Hank Aaron's home run the Boston Red Sox agreed to an eight year, 50 million contract extension with rookie center fielder said and Rafael Rafael. This deal will keep Rafael in Boston through 2031.

Speaker 1:

In Cleveland, a total solar eclipse occurred for the first time in 218 years. Not your typical warm weather home opener for the Guardians, but the celestial event worth remembering. The Guardians, but the celestial event worth remembering. So all of you remember yesterday with the solar eclipse that took place on April 7th. So they had the pleasure of seeing that at the opener for Cleveland NBA.

Speaker 1:

Zach Eadie, a promising player, is expected to excel in the NBA. His skills and potential have caught the attention of basketball enthusiasts. Keep an eye on his journey as he transitions to the professional league. I actually got the pleasure of seeing Mr Eadie just over the weekend at the Final Four in Glendale Phoenix Well, not Phoenix, but Glendale, arizona. He put up 20 points. He's pretty much everything that they said he was, and seeing him in person was a sight to see.

Speaker 1:

The Charlotte Hornets are actively interviewing candidates for their head coaching position. As Steve Clifford steps down, the team is exploring options to lead them into the upcoming season. They actually are looking at some female candidates, which would be probably the first. I know they were trying to do that in San Antonio when Pop stepped down. They were looking at his assistant to step up, but she ended up going and coaching for the Las Vegas Aces and Greg Popovich is still in San Antonio. He's got almost a new lease on life now that they signed Victor Wimbinyama from France, so he's the next big thing. So of course, once he found that out, he's going to stay and see if he can get one more championship before he leaves. Once he found that out, he's going to stay and see if he can get one more championship before he leaves.

Speaker 1:

For the NCAA, we've got UConn wins the NCAA championship, while respectively for the women's NCAA championship, south Carolina Gamecocks win. So for UConn it's their second championship back-to-back. So they won in 2023 and then 2024. And then I think for Dawn Staley this would be, I think, her third or fourth championship in women's NCAA basketball. Now I want to send a special shout out here to NC State Wolfpack and I want to give you guys a little bit of rundown on America's team that had a phenomenal, phenomenal run here that it came to end on Saturday. So, as I said, I watched Mr Zach Eadie on Saturday in Glendale, arizona, at the Final Four take on my team here in college, nc State. I was a bit bittersweet watching that run come to end NC State versus Purdue because the run that NC State had gone through their season just it didn't get all so hot.

Speaker 1:

And then by the time they got into the ACC tournament within their conference they won five games and five nights and eventually took home the title for the ACC champs, which gave them an automatic berth to get into March Madness, because if they don't win that then they don't get in. It wasn't the pivotal moment within their five games and five nights would have been, I think, the third game, which would have been against Virginia, yeah, where they were down by three and it looked like it was hopeless. It was, it was done. It wasn't until Michael Connell hit a wing and a prayer three off the backboard to go in to send it to overtime. And then, when it went into overtime, that's when they took over they beat Virginia. They went on to take on Duke and beat them and then beat UNC.

Speaker 1:

So let me give you a rundown again, because I've got it written down here. I can show you better than I can tell you. So, as I was saying, the Wolfpack made it to the final four in an impressive feat. They faced off against Purdue Boilermakers in a hard-fought semifinal game. Although they didn't advance to the championship, their journey captured the hearts of fans.

Speaker 1:

So in the Elite Eight, nc State triumphed over Duke Blue Devils with a score of 76-64. Their strong performance secured their spot in the Final Four. In the Sweet 16, they defeated Marquette and Golden Eagles with a final score of 67-58. Their resilience and teamwork were on full display. In the second round, nc State faced off against Oakland Golden Grizzlies and emerged victorious with a score of 79-73.

Speaker 1:

Now that game actually went into OT and Jake Lockley, if I remember, if I'm pronouncing his name correctly was serving us business. I mean man, he was already known for shooting so many threes, and the most threes in NCAA tournament or NCAA in general, and then coming into the tournament as well. But we found a way. They did some boxing one, they double teamed him. They really made it tough for him to get off with them scores versus what he did at Kentucky or versus Kentucky, and got them out. So they did a hell of a job shutting him down. So again, the score was 79-73.

Speaker 1:

Their balance play helped them advance in the tournament, kicking off their tournament journey. They secured a win against Texas Red Horn Raiders in the first round, finishing a score of 80-67. So I'm reading it in a not logical order, descending from the end to the beginning. But I mean, again, their run was just phenomenal and just hats off to all those guys DJ Burns, dj Horn Casey, marcel Jaden Taylor, mike O'Connell, adara, ben Middlebrook. If I'm forgetting, anybody hit me up on Twitter. Whoa, it's X now King Chill. Say. Hey, bro, you forgot about me and I'll make sure I retweet your name. But again, nc State again had a phenomenal run.

Speaker 1:

Some of these guys that you saw playing on the team won't be there this upcoming season because some of them are fifth years or going into the portal, transferring to another team. So some of them are pretty much exhausted their contract and some are going to other teams. But either way, man, it was a sight to see during the course of March, all the way up until April, what they were able to do. Essentially, they were one game away from going into the championship game and, dare I say, from what I've seen with UConn, I think they would have been a better team to face off against UConn, opposed to Purdue who just kept using Zach Eadie and it didn't really translate well. It's about balance and NC State would have been more balanced and they could have won that one. It would have been a tough-fought game, which they've been facing all ranked teams that were tough-fought, but I think they would have definitely gave Dan Hurley some fits All right.

Speaker 1:

So on to the NFL. The Eagles wide receiver Paris Campbell. He believes that Saquon Barkley will demonstrate why he's the best running back in the NFL. Now, if you remember correctly, saquon just left the New York Giants and now is with the Eagles. So he's getting a bit of a fresh start here and trying to see if he can get some of that old mojo that he had within the first couple years when he was with the Giants.

Speaker 1:

Saints quarterback Derek Carr. He's eagerly anticipating playing against his former teammate Max Crosby. Now, if you remember, derek Carr used to play for the Oakland Raiders, las Vegas Raiders, and they got rid of him, shipped him off to New Orleans Saints. So I guess he's looking for a little payback here eventually against that team in the opening season and looking to play up against his old teammate Max Crosby. So we'll see how that goes. And then free agent running back Dalvin Cook states he remains confident ahead of his next opportunity, asserting I'm still that guy, yeah, last season. You know, probably one of the top premier running backs, but has yet to be picked up yet. So we'll see who gets him. Maybe Dallas is in the market, maybe Pittsburgh. Really, it's just who's ever looking for that final missing piece on their team and if they feel like Mr Dobbin Cook can fit their needs, they'll pick him up.

Speaker 1:

Nhl Goaltender Alex Nijeskipig, if I'm pronouncing that correctly, has been crucial for the Penguins playoff push. So shout out to the Penguins. Hopefully they can get that playoff push going, because this is that time of the year where everybody's trying to make their final push to get into that spot. The Canadians missed the playoffs. The Montreal Canadiens missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season. So there's going to be a lot of soul searching this offseason to see who stays, who goes, what pieces can they pick up to get them over that hump. Also, the Flames out the playoffs. So the Calgary Flames missed the playoffs for the third time in four seasons. So they too will be looking at who stays, who goes, what pieces fit, what pieces don't and seeing how they can rebuild in the offseason.

Speaker 1:

All right, now we have television, so here are some popular television shows that viewers are currently enjoying. The Gentleman in Moscow, a limited series from 2024 boasting a 93% approval rating. Stars Ewan McGregor, deborah Nair performance illuminates his whimsical portrait of a life blossoming under a constraining circumstances. We Are the Lucky Ones. This limited series as well from 2024, strikes a balance between harrowing and life-affirming. Its wonderful ensemble cast brings tear-inducing heart to the tale of perseverance. Again Shogun making its dominating run here. Another limited series for 2024 has a staggering 99% approval rating. This visually scrumptious and culturally rich outdoing the original adaptation and gloves come around. I definitely see this one here taking off for next year, where it's going to clean up or get a few awards. That's all they've been talking about here.

Speaker 1:

Here are some exciting TV shows from 2024 that you might want to check out. American Nightmare equal parts infuriating and suspenseful. This series chronicles institutional bias, making a horrifying crime even worse. Mary and George a balding and irreverent limited series ruled by Julianne Moore in a top form. It's a regal treat for fans of frothy court intrigue. Girls 5, eva Season 3, sustaining a high note with enough finesse to go platinum. This season is just a daffy and jubilant, as the first two starring Sara Bareilles, renee Ells Goldsberry, paula Pell and Busy Phillips.

Speaker 1:

And then television shows with great replay value we have Seen Elsewhere. The show revolves around life at St Elgis, a declining urban hospital in Boston that serves destitute and downtrodden patients. Boston that serves destitute and downtrodden patients. The hospital, affectionately nicknamed Seld Elsewhere, is underfunded and located in a poor area of the 1980s inner city, boston. Within the walls, physicians, residents, nurses, staff and patients live, work, love, fight, laugh, joke and heal in their own little world.

Speaker 1:

Now, to give it away and I'm not saying spoiler alert a lot of people were disappointed with the ending of the show because it ended. But what happens is, I think someone was looking out the window in the hospital and it's snowing right. Then it keeps panning out further, further, further, further to where it's. I think someone was looking out the window in the hospital and it's snowing right. Then it keeps panning out further, further, further, further to where it's a snow globe, and inside the snow globe you see the hospital and it says and it's like a town and it says St Elsewhere. Literally, once it keeps panning outside of the snow globe and you can see the top of the snow globe, you see a kid holding the snow globe, right, and what is told about this Saint Elsewhere is that this is all a figment of imagination from the kid's point of view, of Saint Elsewhere holding a globe, a snow globe and imagining all this just by looking inside the snow globe. A lot of people were hot about that ending and didn't like it.

Speaker 1:

The Chappelle Show the show was notorious for handling its topics related to sexuality and Chappelle's casual usage of racial epithets, often closed within musical performance by hip-hop and soul artists. Chappelle's show often satires examine race, social stereotypes, masculinity, celebrity culture and comedy itself through dark and racial humor. Yeah, that that run from 2001 to 2003,. 2001 to 2003 with Chappelle's show was who chef's kiss? 2001 to 2003 with Chappelle's show was ooh, chef's kiss. And I think by far probably the best episode he's ever had would have been the Rick James. I don't even have to go into detail. Just look up Dave Chappelle, rick James, chappelle's show and you'll probably feel like, okay, I've never been in the Chappelle's show, but watching this now I want to see his other skits. Ok, I've never been in the Chappelle show, but watching this now I want to see his other skits. That Rick James skit when I was in high school Everybody and I mean everybody talked about that and was imitating. I'm not going to say it here but to give it away as well, but everybody was doing the same call that Rick James was doing that Dave Chappelle made up. So again, chappelle shows classic Agents of SHIELD, a Marvel show that I'm so big into comics my nerd enthusiasm oozes when I talk about Marvel is a show based on the Marvel Comics organization.

Speaker 1:

Sd, strategic Homeland Intervention, enforcement and Logistic Division, a peacekeeping and spy agency. In the world of superheroes, whether dealing with high stakes espionage and battling other worldly threats, agents of SHIELD provided an excitement and interconnected experience for fans of the Marvel Universe. Shield provided an excitement and interconnected experience for fans of the Marvel Universe. So what they did with that show was they made it canon to the Marvel Universe. So whatever would generally happen in a Marvel film, usually what they did was about two or three would go by with a Marvel film and then after that, agents of SHIELD would incorporate whatever was happening on the Last Thor, captain America and Iron man film into their show and showing them, trying to clean up some of those messes and then also other things that they had going on that were going on behind the scenes that maybe Captain America, iron man or Thor couldn't handle. But the show when it was connected, it was canon. It was great. I think, with them now trying to form their own universe with bringing back Daredevil, luke Cage, jessica Jones, iron Fist, I think there's room that they can kind of do a reboot of Agents of SHIELD, probably maybe within the next three, four years, and make it be more interconnected. All right, so that ends that with television.

Speaker 1:

Now we just move on here to video games and close out the show. Here are some of the most recent happenings in the world of video games. Fallout, the TV show, amazon Prime video series adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic role-playing video game Fallout, is now streaming. Fans are curious to see what happens or how it captures the tone of the beloved game. So they have been promoting it, saying that on April 10th at 6 pm, all episodes will be released. Yes, that's right. April 10th at 6 pm, all episodes will be released. Yes, that's right. April 10th, 6 pm, no 6 pm Pacific, 9 am, no 9 pm Sorry, eastern, it will be released.

Speaker 1:

Then also still kind of piggybacking on that Video games as TV's inspiration. According to producer and director Jonathan Nolan who's actually brothers, or his brother is Christopher Nolan Video games are becoming a state's. Video games are becoming a top source of story inspiration for Hollywood. His adaptation of Fallout is a testament to the thread. So, yes, I'm so curious to see how this Fallout stands the test of the time, compare or measures up and test the time was a bad word measures up against the video games because all of them have been set in different parts of the US. So this one is going to be set in California. One of my favorite fallouts would have been Fallout 4, which was set in Boston or New England, massachusetts. Sorry, so I'm trying to navigate through that, but again I'm curious to see how this one plays out and if it's true to all the fallouts in general.

Speaker 1:

Here are some notable video game releases within the from the the most recent weeks freedom Planet, part 2, is available on ps5, ps4, xbox Series X and s and Nintendo switch, at least on April 4th, and Nintendo Switch released on April 4th. T-goku Struggle Stray Side, a visual novel with its first English release on Nintendo Switch, released on April 4th. Turbo Golf Racing, a sports action game that left early access and is now available on PC, ps5, xbox Series X, s and Xbox One, released on April 4th. And Withering Rooms, a horror slash RPG game, released on April 2nd for PC and PS5. So that closes out video games and that is the end of the show. Yes, so that ends the King's Perspective with King Chill, episode 16 in the books.

Speaker 1:

Share with a friend, family member, co-worker, whoever, but let's get it out there and let's get it big Again. King's Perspective King Chill, episode 16 in the books. Peace.
