Speaker 1:

Yo, what's up, I'm back, king Chill. King's Perspective, as promised, season 2, episode 1. Same format, same everything. Not much has changed, but glad to be back. I was down a little bit, otherwise I would have had season two on schedule to go earlier this week, but as it stands now late in the week. But it's all good, we got it going, we got it popping, no biggie.

Speaker 1:

So for season two, I am thinking about doing one thing here, for some little mini milestones here, that on episode, not episode, but what would be considered overall episode, 25 episodes I want to kind of do a giveaway and with that giveaway it's going to be no more than $25. But what you can do is go to my Buzzsprout page, king Chill, and on the page it allows you to leave a comment and what you can do is go on any of the episodes from season one or up into season two, which would be episode five or essentially episode 25, and leave a comment on any of the episodes and it can be very short, sweet and just why said episode was your favorite. And what I'll do is based on those comments that are left. Um, I will pick at random, uh, a winner. All you want to do is just leave your handle there, uh, on the end of the comment. So, uh, we're going to mainly do it through X, which is usually just easier because I don't have a whole lot of social media. Um, it through X, which is usually just easier because I don't have a whole lot of social media. Leave your X or Twitter handle there at the end of the comment and then, like I said, winner will be chosen randomly. So that's going to be four episodes from now. So, once it's chosen the winner at random, I will inbox you or DM you the gift card for $25 to set place of my choosing, but it'll definitely be well worth it. So, again, just go through the Buzzsprout website and just leave a comment on one of your favorite episodes, and why, with your handle. And just leave a comment on one of your favorite episodes and why, with your handle, and we'll definitely get back at you. All right. So for Season 2, again, more of the same stuff that you love. And again, I appreciate all my loyal listeners for coming out and making this show as popular as it is. Oh, and then, as far as that giveaway that starts now Making the show as popular as it is, oh, and then, as far as that giveaway, that starts now. So you can start it from now, from episode one all the way up until five. So go ahead and get those entries in as early as possible.

Speaker 1:

All right, so we're going to start with film, most popular films. Right now we have Furiosa, a Mad Max saga. The film is set 15 to 20 years before the events of Fury Road. As the road falls apart, young Furiosa is snatched from Greenplace of many mothers and into the hands of biker horde led by warlord Dementus While two tyrants war for dominance over the citadel. Furiosa survives many trials as she plots her way back home through the wasteland.

Speaker 1:

Garfield, the movie. In unexpected turn of events, garfield reunites with his long-lost father, the scruffy street cat Vic Vic. Together with his canine friend Odie, garfield is forced from his pampered life into a risky heist orchestrated by Vic. And then, lastly, here Atlas, which has been kind of getting a mixed bag of reviews, the more I've been kind of reading up and learning about it. It's a film created by Jennifer Lopez where people are using the assistance of AI to help them fight wars. The biggest issue is, a lot of people feel, for lack of better words, it sucked. And then also knowing that I think Netflix put about 100 million behind the film to help her produce this and it just still didn't warrant any quality. Ooh, that's crazy, but let me give you the synopsis. So, in a bleak sounding future, ai soldier determines that the only way to end a war is to end humanity. The film follows this premise, premise exploring the conscious of the decision. This film is directed by Brad Payton and it stars Jennifer Lopez, simi Liu and Sterling K Brown. All right. Now on to some new films to check out for this week.

Speaker 1:

We have Ezra. Max Bradle, a stand up comedian living with his father, stan, struggles to co-parent his autistic son, ezra, with his ex-wife, jenna. When, faced with a difficult decision about their son's future, max and Ezra set out for a cross-country road trip, coming with an age film seems pretty interesting, know, seems pretty interesting. Um, it's almost like it's. It's giving off vibes of rain man where it was like tom cruise, dustin hoffman, he had to go get his brother cross-country trip and they set out on this adventure and learn to bond. It's definitely giving that type of vibe, but I could be wrong. Uh, summer camp. We have nora, jenny and Mary, three childhood best friends who used to spend every summer at a sleepaway camp together. As the years passed, they saw each other less and less. However, when the opportunity arrives for a summer camp reunion, they all seized it. The reunion brings them back together, reminding them of their cherished memories and the importance of friendship, friendship, friendship, young Women and the Sea is an upcoming American biopic drama film based on the 2009 book of the same name by Glenn Stout.

Speaker 1:

2009 book of the same name by Glenn Stout. The film stars Daisy Ridley as Gertrude Erdlin, an American competitive swimmer who became the first woman to swim across the English Channel. The story follows Erdlin's remarkable journey from winning a gold medal at the 1924 Olympic Games to her historic 21 mile swim across the English Channel in 1926. Interesting, interesting, interesting.

Speaker 1:

Now on to films with great replay value. Now this one might be controversial, but hey, from as time has passed, it's become a bit of a cult favorite here, so don't shoot the messenger, okay. So the first film here with great replay value is going to be Legally Blonde. It's a delightful comedy film that follows the story of Elle Woods, a fashionable sorority queen. After being dumped by her boyfriend, elle decides to follow him to Harvard Law School. There she discovers that there's more to her than just good looks. Yeah, I think with that film there and this is just me, but Reese Witherspoon it almost catapulted her into a whole nother stratosphere filled of, uh, notoriety and fame. Um, she's done some stuff prior to that, but this one here, though, right here, um, legally Blonde definitely, um, was just kind of like the breakthrough. And then the breakthrough for her career as well.

Speaker 1:

Dutch 1991. This film was one of my favorites. I can't remember though the, the director escapes me right now at the moment, but I can't remember. Let me see here. And this is all live. Sorry folks, I have to see. Okay, so no, it wasn't John Hughes is who I was thinking of. It wasn't a John Hughes film, but the aesthetics of the film and the way it kind of followed in that film with Dutch, it definitely felt like it was one of those John Hughes films. You know John Hughes from Adventures in Babysitting, pretty in Pink, sixteen Candles Breakfast Club. At one time I could have sworn. I thought he was behind this film, dutch, but he wasn't but Dutch.

Speaker 1:

With my synopsis here is about an honest, hardworking man named Dutch Dooley offers to pick up his newly divorced girlfriend's son Doyle in an attempt to bond. However, doyle views Dutch as a lower class con man trying to romance his mother for money. The two embark on a journey home from Doyle's boarding school in Georgia to Chicago. Along the way they discover the truths about each other and will change them for the better. So the film stars Ed O'Neill, ethan Embry, christopher McDonald.

Speaker 1:

If you remember Christopher McDonald from me when I got introduced to him, not only in that film but on the second row which would have been Adam Sandler's film gosh it escapes me, adam Sandler's film gosh. Now I've got to look that film up here. I'm bleeding a whole other film in here. I'm bleeding a whole nother film in here that has nothing to do with Dutch. But I just wanted to give you what Christopher McDonald had been in. And this is sad because I was just thinking about this movie the other day Happy Gilmore. There we go. So if you remember, in Happy Gilmore Christopher McDonald's character was Shooter McGavin and he was very annoying. So essentially in this movie here he's like Shooter McGavin but worse.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, with their adventures upon the film, I mean it was really great seeing the two of them bond, ethan Embry and Ed O'Neill and at that time Ed O'Neill was on top of the world with Mary, with Children, and Ed Bundy. So you couldn't really Al, not Ed Al Bundy Sorry people are going to crucify me for that but Al Bundy, his famous character there. So it was pretty much kind of getting Al, but with a little bit of a nuance there. But overall the film was great. And then, lastly, here we have who's the man?

Speaker 1:

Now, this film I've seen several times and it's like a who's who in hip hop. With that film here Stars Ed Lover, dr Dre not actual Dr Dre, dr Dre from NWA, this is Dr Dre from New York hip hop scene. And I still could never figure out like Ed Lover, like I know MTV, MTV, yo raps, and then they brought on Ed Lover. Like I know MTV yo raps, and then they brought on Ed Lover. But I guess at that time when I was watching yo MTV raps I didn't know who the heck Ed Lover was or Dr Dre. And then, as time goes on, I could see like, okay, ed Lover, I could see why he's, you know, a face of yo MTV raps. But Dr Dre really didn't seem to offer much other than he was. Just like Ed Lover's sidekick. He really didn't offer much on the show, but bring that full circle.

Speaker 1:

Those dudes are so popular they decided to create a movie called who's the man, and again it's a who's who in hip hop. So I'll give you a breakdown here. So, ed Lover, dr Dre, star as two bumbling barbers in Harlem. Frustrated with their antics, their boss sends them to the police Academy. However, when a crooked landlord, uh, developer, uh, I believe his name was Dimitri uh, threatens their ex bosses property, dr Dre and Ed must use their new found police powers to stop him. So, yeah, they have their mentor Nick die, and then Nick wanted them to go into the police force. So once he died, they essentially did take him up on that offer and go into the police force.

Speaker 1:

Upon them doing that, they started to investigate Nick's murder and then they kind of come across a lot of things and in this film you've got and this is during the 90s, so we're talking about early to mid 90s uh, naughty by nature, uh, let's see, um, uh, onyx, um, any major east coast rapper was in there. I believe even cypress hill was in there. Um, you've also had some west coast rappers, some down south rappers. So, with that being said, you, like I said, you had a who's who in there running around New York and Ed Lover and Dr Dre had to stop them and ask them if they knew anything about the murder of Nick tied to the landlord developer Dimitri. But overall, if you are a big hip hop fan, you got to see some of your favorite artists in this film and you got to fanboy or geek out at that point in time. So for what it was just seeing you know your favorite artists in there. I mean you couldn't ask for more, even if they didn't really get much lines. Is this the more of a cameo and seeing them or maybe seeing them act out something or do something? So for the most part, again wasn't a bad film.

Speaker 1:

Music. So we're going to go here to Minnesota. How fitting. We're going to get to Minnesota later on in another segment here. But famous musicians from Minnesota. We have Bob Dylan, born in Duluth, minnesota, in 1941.

Speaker 1:

Musicians from Minnesota. We have Bob Dylan, born in Duluth, minnesota, in 1941. Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, is a hugely popular singer-songwriter. Over his 60-year career he became one of the most successful artists of all time, selling over 125 million records, winning 10 Grammy Awards and even receiving a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Okay, chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Drummer. Chad Smith was born in St Paul, minnesota. He joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers and has performed with other notable artists such as the Dixie Chicks, johnny Cash and Dave Navarro. True story, I've been to St Paul Minnesota before, but it was during an AAU track meet, and what I will say about St Paul Minnesota is not much was going on up there, but shout out to the Old Town Buffet that took us in to let us eat after our AAU meeting. And then, lastly, we would be remiss if we did not mention this individual from Minnesota, as they call him the purple one.

Speaker 1:

Prince iconic Prince Rogers Nelson, known simply as Prince. He was also known as a Minnesota native. His career was defined by his hit success until his untimely death in 2016. All right Now, if you're looking for some fresh indie music, here are a few artists that you may enjoy. Mitsuki, a Japanese-born American singer-songwriter known for her introspective songwriting and critically acclaimed albums like Be the Cowboy and Laurel Hell. Hippocampus, an indie brand with infectious melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Grillin' Red a pioneering voice from Norway. She captivates millennial angst with relatable lyrics From Norway. She captivates millennial angst with relatable lyrics and Bleachers. New Jersey band based on choruses and emotional lyrics wrapped in sophisticated pop production. Now, this was a bit controversial, but I had to add it to the segment because it was controversy. It sells right. Segment. Because it was controversy, it sells right.

Speaker 1:

Now, apple came out earlier this week with their greatest 100 albums and I guess that spanned from like decades, decades, decades and decades, right? So I'm not going to go over the complete list because we won't have time for that, but I'm just going to give you the top 10 that they had. So I'm starting with 10, working my way up. So number 10 would have been Lemonade by Beyonce, nevermind by Nirvana. So that's number nine. Number eight Back to Black, by Amy Winehouse. Now we talked about her just on the last episode and again, 2007 for her at that point in time with this album was great.

Speaker 1:

I literally would recommend this album. It's only maybe 30 minutes, if that, I think it's somewhere between 20 or 30 minutes, and then, if you can find the bonus tracks to add on to it, it only adds an additional. I think it's actually 21 to 25 minutes, but with the additional bonus tracks that I had, it bumped it up to 35 minutes but it's an easy listening to album, no skips whatsoever. And then, number seven, we have Good Kid Mad City by Kendrick Lamar and then, number six, songs in the Key of Life by CB Wonder. Number five, blonde by Frank Ocean and then, number four, we have Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution Abbey Road by the Beatles. Number two, we have Thriller by Michael Jackson and then, number one, we have the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill. Most of these albums I would say I've listened to and I would have no complaint with any of these albums. So they're right in the right ranking where they should be all right.

Speaker 1:

Now on the sports here, mlb Yankees owner Hal Steinenbrenner expressed interest in negotiating a contract extension with Juan Soto during the season. A rare move for the Yankees. Christian Yelch pulled off a straight steal of home base, adding to his impressive base-stealing record. Seattle Mariners stormed all the way back to a dramatic 5-4 win at the Yankee Stadium, manufacturing a four spot in the top of the ninth inning to stun the Yankees NBA. Now I told you we're going to get back to Minnesota. And here we go.

Speaker 1:

So for the Western Conference, and we're at the point of season. Now. Next month starts the NBA finals. So you're going to have your best from the West, best from the East, and right now, before we can get there, we're in the Western Conference finals. So it's the best in the West and then the best in the East. So you've got two teams in the West going at it, two teams in the East going at it. So right now we are three games into the Western Conference finals. So let me give you a breakdown of it. So right now we are three games into the Western Conference Finals. So let me give you a breakdown of that. So the Western Conference Finals, as it stands right now, is the Minnesota Timberwolves See, I told you we're going to get to Minnesota and then the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 1:

So game one the Dallas Mavericks won the game with a score of 108 points, with the Minnesota Timberwolves with a score of 105 points. The key performer was Luka Dantic, the Dallas Mavericks, with 33 points. Now, previous episodes, I had talked about Luka, and this was early on or about midway through the season, and I said you're looking at the face of the league and I remember saying it was going to be Luca Shea Gildress, alexander from Oklahoma City Thunder. Um, there was one more person there or Victor Wimbinyama from San Antonio Spurs, and Shea actually did his thing. He won the MVP for the season. So at this point you've been put on notice for the rest of his career that he's superstar, superstar talent. Luka Doncic has not won an MVP of the league, but if this series goes in the favor of the Dallas Mavericks and they end up moving forward into the finals and they win said NBA finals and then he's finals MVP, then at that point you got Shea, you've got Luka. Victor Wimbanyama just won rookie of the year. So it's like the league isn't in good hands at this point.

Speaker 1:

So then game two the Dallas Mavericks secured a nail-biting win, defeating the Timberwolves by a score of 109-108. Luka Dantic, despite appearing hobbled throughout the game, hit a game-winning three-pointer over Rudy Gobert with four seconds remaining, putting the Mavericks ahead by one. The Timberwolves couldn't respond in time. And Rudy Gobert? Why I said it that way is because he's considered well, I talked last episode. He won Defensive Player of the Year and that was his fourth. So he's considered in the NBA League to be the best player that you will have winning for on your team, for winning for defense, defensive prowess, and it's just like this series dog. Like, straight up, I want my money back, I want a refund. Ok, because Rudy is not showing that he is that defensive player of the year.

Speaker 1:

Straight up, like you're 7-2, 7-3 on a good day and you can't seem to shut anybody down. That's to shut anybody down that's smaller, like these small guys are running around you. And it's like you're seven two. You don't have to jump in the air when you're seven two, you just stand up against somebody with your hands straight up in the air. That makes it extremely difficult. You know we're talking about David versus Goliath here. You know, when he's on the court and it's like this dude is jumping at pump fakes. Or you know, these guys are just zooming and whizzing around him and it's like bro, like, oh my God, like that's all I'm going to say, because I don't want to say anything else negatively or that would impact someone negatively on their game or how people would view them, even the organization. Because who am I? But all I know is, as a fan of the game, you can't be that tall and be a liability on the court.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now on to game three, which just finished. Game three Dallas Mavericks secured a 116-107 victory over the Timberwolves, the Mavericks are now just one win away from their first NBA Finals appearance since 2011. So, like I said, if this goes the way that it should, and this game would be essentially played on, because usually they take a day in between each game um, so they played tonight, which is sunday, and then, um, they would have monday off and then they play again tuesday. If they went on tuesday, that's an automatic bin to the NBA Finals. Then they just have to wait the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals, which I'm getting to right now.

Speaker 1:

So, as far as the Eastern Conference Finals, what we have right now is the Boston Celtics versus the Indiana Pacers. So let's give you a breakdown of the games that have been thus far. There's only been three games in. So game one the final score was Boston 133 to Indiana 128. The Celtics capitalized on costly turnovers by the Pacers to secure a victory in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals. Now game two the Boston Celtics won the game with a score of 126 to 110. The Celtics led most of the game after a big run to start the second quarter. With this win, the Celtics are now up two.

Speaker 1:

Now on to game three. Boston Celtics secured a thrilling victory, beating the Indiana Pacers with a final score of 114-111. With this win, the Celtics now hold a commanding lead of 3-0. So, just like the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Pacers are now facing elimination. Now, the funny thing is that game was played on Saturday, so they have a rest off today, meaning the Pacers and Celtics. So they actually play tomorrow, on Memorial Day, and if they win meaning the Celtics, because they're up three zip um, then they go automatically to the final. So then they're just essentially waiting the winner of Dallas first, uh, the Timberwolves. Now, one thing I will say about the Celtics, though with Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum, they're a good, dynamic duel, but they tend to not take games serious, just like this game here, game three, I kid you not.

Speaker 1:

I watched the game and these guys, meaning the Celtics, were down by at least at one point, like 15 going into the fourth, and it looked like when you're usually down by that type of score with like eight minutes left, there's generally no coming back. So I figured, ok, well, pacers, or are definitely going to take one from the Celtics at home in the Boston Garden. It's not Boston Garden, it's not Boston Garden, it's TD Garden, I think. So I turned off the game. I'm like, hey, you know, okay, they're going to split the series, they're going to take one. So you know, I assume when game four happens, then Boston's going to come back and it'll be 3-1.

Speaker 1:

I let some time pass. I mean literally time pass, because the series to me is a bit of a snooze fest anyway. But I let some time pass. It wasn't until, like this afternoon, I went back to see what the final score was. To my shock and to my dismay, the Celtics actually won and, like I said, it was 114 to 111. I was like, how? But then I thought again this is the Boston Celtics, this is what they do. They let teams get up on them and then it's like, okay, now that we have our backs against the wall and we have to come back and storm storming Normandyandy, then this is when we play the best. And it's like no, once you're up, you stay up. You don't go up just to lose the lead and then turn back around and then regain the lead. It's like, what are we doing? You can't do that. And I think if they continue to play that way and if the matchup goes like how I think, in the NBA finals, dallas Mavericks versus Boston Celtics. If Boston pulls that BS at any point in time, it's over. There's no coming back with Dallas, because once Dallas gets up, they stay up, and if you guys ain't playing no defense, you're just jacking up shots, meaning Boston it's over for you guys. You're going home in four. So that's my Western Conference Finals, that's my Eastern Conference Finals. Take right now. So stay tuned, because again you've got one game on Monday between Boston and Indiana, and then Tuesday you've got Dallas versus Minnesota. So keep an eye on that, because the winner of those two and, like I said, you've got Boston up three zip, dallas up three zip Keep an eye on those teams because they should be finishing out those teams and that will pretty much show you or determine what your NBA finals is going to look like.

Speaker 1:

On to the NFL, we have Chaviris Ward. I believe that the Super Bowl loss will make the 49ers a little more hungrier. I mean, you know what? He's not wrong, because they've lost before and they got back to this point again and they seem to be really hungry at that point in time. It's just certain little little mistakes here and there, and then again it's Patrick Mahomes, um. So you know, it's just the more you lose, the more you hate to lose. So it's just the more you lose, the more you hate to lose. And then it's just, you start doing things that show that you really want it Extra time in the gym, extra film, game room film, more workout sessions, just whatever it takes to get you over that hump. And I think that's what the team's going to need. I would say they're probably pretty much the clear favorites that come out of the NFC besides Detroit Lions. So it's a toss up between those two.

Speaker 1:

The Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Cowboys, are expected to make a big jump from wide receivers with Jalen Tolbert and Jalen Brooks. Yeah, seems believing. I'm not worried about that. As a former Cowboy Center, if I would have heard that, I'm like oh yeah, I'm giddy about this. Yes, yes, we finally about to do it, but they're not going outside of no big free agents with no big names, and you're doing it within the draft, which is perfectly fine, but seeing is believing. Proof is in the pudding, we'll see. Fine, but seeing is believing, proof is in the pudding, we'll see.

Speaker 1:

And then the Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman humorously commented that Jim Harbaugh reminds him of Will Ferrell. Kind of sort of, kind of sort of. The question is is Jim Harbaugh as funny as Will Ferrell? Though? That's what I would want to know. Is he funny like Will Ferrell, impromptu? Can he make or possibly just in the offseason Jim Harbaugh make a film like Step Brothers? Now, when he can do a film like that, then let me know.

Speaker 1:

And then the NHL we're looking at. The Oilers are looking to maintain their winning formula after a game seven against the Canucks, and then Shytel says he's ready to return for the Rangers in game one of the Eastern Finals versus the Panthers, and the McDonald has has been reacquired by the Lightning in a trade with the Predators. So Tampa Bay also is receiving a pick in the deal. So pretty short on the NHL biz here. So keep an eye on that. They're in the playoffs as well and finals coming up. They kind of start around the same time as your NBA, so they run kind of concurrent with their start of the season and off season.

Speaker 1:

Now on to television. Here are some of the current popular TV shows you should be watching Resident Alien. After a crash landing on Earth in a small town in Colorado, an alien is sent to wipe out humanity and kills and takes on the identity of a vacationing physician. He is asked to do an autopsy on the town's doctor who has died under unknown circumstances, and eventually takes over for the doctor at the town's clinic. He wrestles with the moral dilemma of his secret, while also dealing with the mayor's young son, who can see his true alien appearance. Over time, he develops a compassion for humanity and ends up having to defend them from other alien threats.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've seen the show. I think it's in a second season and I think they're thinking about a third. But yeah, it's a very interesting premise, definitely unique. I think they're thinking about a third, but yeah, it's. It's a very interesting premise. Um, definitely unique. Um, definitely very humorous and seems a bit funny. Um got some action, some adventure in there. So, um, if you're on the fence about it, um, give it a look, see, um, maybe one episode or two, and then let that determine whether or not that's something that you're interested in. Um, now we've got another show here the Apples Never Fall.

Speaker 1:

The story begins with a mysterious thriller of Joy Delaney, a 60-year-old, something mother and a retired tennis coach, suddenly vanishes on Valentine's Day. All signs point to her moody and volatile husband, stan, himself a former world-renowned tennis coach, as the most likely suspect. So you know, ned Benning, sam Neill are your two co-liners there for male and female actor. It's on Apple TV. It definitely seems very interesting. A very whodunit type of show, not film, and usually with Sam Neill and Annette Bening you're having your best of the best of acting. So, with that being said, you can't go wrong with those two OG vets. So again, if you're fans of their acting, tune in what's going to hurt you right. And then Nollie. The series tracks the great success of a TV star, nolene Nollie Gordon, and the betrayal and sudden firing that followed. It reveals the story of Nolene Nolly Gordon, one of the most famous faces of British TV in the 1960s and 70s, whose unceremonious firing from her hit show at the height of her career was front-page news, its bold exploration of how the establishment turns on women who refuse to play by the rules. So that television show seemed very interesting. After looking at it or researching and things of that nature, it's definitely something that should be looked at. Let's see here and then up and coming release here at the end of this month, so just in a few days we have Eric.

Speaker 1:

The series follows Benedict Cumberbatch as a man named Vincent who, in 1980 in New York City, finds his son's behavior increasingly erratic. Before then he goes missing. Uh, when Vincent Vincent begins to spiral due to the substance abuse, he then gets an idea that he can find his son with the help of a seven foot tall puppet named Eric. Yeah, um, I'm trying to think there was a TV show with Christopher. Uh, chris, as he says. Oh, not as he says. It's either Christopher or Chris Maloney from SVU, organized Crime, where he was an officer, and it was some type of 2D animation puppet that was helping him solve and fight crimes. When I can remember what the name of that show is, I'll come back as a footnote for the next episode and let you know. But yes, it's definitely giving those vibes reminiscent of that TV show.

Speaker 1:

Now, television shows with great replay volume one of my favorites here Righteous Gemstones. The Righteous Gemstones family consists of a television evangelist and mega church pastor led by widowed patriarch Eli Gemstone, played by John Goodman. Eli and his immature children, jesse Danny McBride, judy Edie Patterson and Calvin Adam Devine, divine live opulent lives funded by the church donation. So they're in. They just finished their third season last year and it's essentially just like my synopsis there. You basically got these kids here who are living off of the father's fame and the mega church as well, and, um, they tend to do some erratic things and don't think that rules and laws exist. Based on their um, um, their upbringing, they think they're pretty much just above law and can do any and everything. That's that's um, within the realm of the law. But as time goes on, they, they figure and realize that that's not the case. Um, but the family has its own struggles and personal demons, that from the sins of the father um, all the way down to the children and then Uncle Baby Billy, who is portrayed by Walter Goggins, and he's all over the place at this point I just spoke on him as the ghoul from Fallout. But the show I mean it's, like I said, from season one, two and three. I can't give anything away, but the show is, it's something, it's something else.

Speaker 1:

The Steve Harvey show, former funk legend and music star Steve Hightower, who was forced to take a job as a music teacher and vice principal at Booker T Washington High School in Chicago after retiring after retiring, I can't even get out after retiring from his musical career due to budget cuts musical career due to budget cuts he was also forced to teach drama and art. His longtime friend, cedric, and Cedric's girlfriend-turned-wife LaVita Alizé Jenkins and former classmate-turned-love interest, regina Peggy Greer joined him at the school. His tough love for his students was evident through the bond witnessed between him and students like Romeo Santana and Stanley Bullethead. Yeah, so that show's classic. Say what you want about Steve Harvey, and I have too, but that show essentially at that time, if you didn't know about Steve Harvey tuning into this show on the WB yes, the WB at that time, when it was still live and kicking, that was one show that you would essentially go and watch to catch the comedic timing and humor from Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer and humor from Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer. And then the sideshow, which would be Romeo Santana and Stanley Bullethead the two mischief duo that always was causing a ruckus or mischief in the school helped add to the mystique or add to carry on the show as well. But overall I will say probably one of steve's best work besides family feud. Um, you know, most of you probably now know him due to family feud, but before family feud it was the steve harvey show, and I'm not talking about the steve harvey show, the daytime talk steve harvey show. I'm talking about the Steve Harvey show. The daytime talk Steve Harvey show. I'm talking about the Steve Harvey show. That was a comedy show on the WB. You may be able to find some old reruns Maybe on. It wouldn't be on Roku, I think I seen it last on, like Apple Apple TV or Prime or Amazon. Yeah, no, it was Amazon Prime. I think it was Amazon Prime. I saw it. So they've got. I think it only ran for maybe about three, four seasons, but you can definitely find it on Amazon Prime.

Speaker 1:

And then, lastly, shows with great replay value arliss. The series revolves around a character named arliss michaels, a sports agent based in los angeles. Arliss is internally optimistic and endlessly resourceful, but his achilles heel is his inability to say no to clients and employees. The show provides a behind the scenes look at the glitz and glamour, big-money world of professional sports. So Artless is a sports agent and the reason why I used to love watching that show on HBO it's a little bit adult, but still the reason why I love watching the show is because it did kind of it was a bit fabricated, a bit exaggerated, but it did kind of give you a behind the scenes look at what it took for big name sports agents signing big name talent.

Speaker 1:

The series would tackle like Arliss going to trying to get someone to his agency whether it be football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, any other sport out there, you name it whether it be professional, or trying to talk to an up-and-coming player that would be in college at the time, needing representation before they get to the league and a lot of times what was awesome is that it would have like an up-and-coming actor in the show that would be portrayed as you know, the sports athlete. But then it would also spring in a real live basketball, hockey or soccer player in the show where Arliss is trying to sign him or talking to him about advice or using that individual to help him persuade this up-and-coming talent. So that was an HBO exclusive. So if you have HBO Max, go to search type in Arliss, you'll probably find the complete season there Great series and then on here, lastly, to close it on out, with video games.

Speaker 1:

So here are some of the latest happenings in video games. So Jeffrey Wright you know I've talked about him ad nauseum with at the beginning of this year, uh, with him with, um, the film. Oh man, let me go back. Let me go back because it escapes me. Sorry folks, I gotta do this because I gotta be, I gotta be 100 correct, uh, before I talk on anything here. Um, so, jeffrey wright, if, um so, jeffrey Wright, if you remember when I was talking about him up for Golden Globe, up for a Oscar, nom, uh, for the film American fiction. Well, jeffrey Wright, you know, giving you a little background there is set to reprise his role as the villain, isaac Dixon, for season two of the Last of Us. So if you're familiar with the Last of Us, the series in general of it being a video game and then it creating a Last of Us 1, last of Us 2, they're even possibly thinking of creating a Last of Us 3. They're just not sure in which direction they're going to take that game. But, yes, so Jeffrey Wright is set to reprise his role that he played not only in the video game but now for the TV show.

Speaker 1:

Now, guitar Hero 3, the worldwide smash hit introduced to many of us Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash. But it's said that introducing Slash at that time when that game came out made him famous all over again. And I can believe that because think about it. Slash, guns N' Roses that was a band that was somewhere in the 90s. You know that was a band that was somewhere in the 90s and then they fizzled out. Then you come into a whole new decade, millennium, 2000-ish Well, not 2000-ish 2000,. Middle 2000s. And then Guitar Hero 3 drops and you have Slash as a playable character. Most people didn't even know who he was. They just saw the dude with the top hat and the curls coming down with the sunglasses, you know, just rocking out, killing it on the guitar that she had to play against as a boss battle and that, you know, pretty much excited people Now for OGs, like me. I knew who Slash was, but there was a set of people who did not know who Slash was and, based off of them, having to battle against Slash made it ever so great. So it was a reintroduction to Slash for popularity and fame.

Speaker 1:

Hellblade 2, announced back in 2019, which had received a divisive reception. The game's journey should serve as a reminder to the industry about the impact on early game reveals and marketing trends. So sometimes you know, revealing when you do finally release that sequel if it doesn't live up to the expectations of the previous predecessor, then it's just like no one cares whatsoever, whatsoever. So if you're, if you're going to make a sequel, make it be great, make it be greater than the previous. The same way is going to be for the expectations next year for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Speaker 1:

Grand Theft Auto 5 was so great. It was created in 2013 and it's ran from 2013 up until now. With each iteration of the game that they created, not much has changed, but it's just. Whenever there was a new console, grand Theft Auto V was sure to follow. So at that time, from 2013, you've had at least two consoles for the Xbox and the PlayStation. So when it came out, originally it was for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Then after that, you had the Xbox One, ps4. Then now you've got the Xbox X, xbox S and then the PS5. But each time, like I said, that little timeline that I just gave you Grand Theft Auto V for each one, and that thing has been spanning for 13 years.

Speaker 1:

Harold has one of probably the best GTA games. So when this GTA 6 comes out, it's got some big shoes to step in, stretch out and wear and be able to run down the block, get a carton of milk and come back and wear and be able to run down the block, get a carton of milk and come back. If it can't do that, then again it's going to be in the same vein as Hellblade 2. And then here we have Fortnite, chapter 5, season 3, the latest season, dubbed Rekt, brings some Mad Max-esque desert flair to the Battle Royale. Expect characters like Magneto from the X-Men and Fallout series to make its way into the Fortnite game. So that'll be interesting, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, that is the end of episode one for season two, so I will be back not right around the same time next week, possibly maybe a little sooner, but we'll see but we want to make sure we stay consistent, concurrent and again, sweepstakes, starting now up until episode five, I believe.
