So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let's get started. First up, let's talk about the increasing importance of user experience, otherwise known as UX. In SEO, Google has been emphasizing UX for a long time now. But in 2020, it's going to be even more critical. This means that factors like page load speed, mobile friendliness, and intuitive navigation will play a significant role in how your site ranks. For instance, if you're running a wellness blog, ensuring that your site loads quickly and is easy to navigate on mobile devices can make a huge difference on your search engine rankings. Google's core web vitals, which are loading and interactivity and visual stability are now a fundamental part of the ranking algorithm. To improve these metrics, consider compressing your images, leveraging your browser, caching, and minimizing any JavaScript you have on the site. Real world example, a holistic vet saw a 20 percent increase in organic traffic after optimizing their site's mobile experience and improving their load times. That could be a huge opportunity for growth for your service based business. Next we have the rise of AI and machine learning in search algorithms. Google's AI algorithm, RankBrain, has been around for a few years, but its influence is just growing. RankBrain helps Google understand the intent behind Customer search queries, which means your content needs to be more relevant and user focused than ever before. For instance, a pet care website should create content that answers common questions pet owners may have using natural language that matches how people search. Versus really professional and perfect language. Let's explore a real world application of that. A tech startup focused on home automation noticed a drop in their rankings on their Google analytics by analyzing user intent and to be more informative and to directly answer user queries. The most common they got. Think about those frequently asked questions. They regained their position on the first page of search results. Using tools like Google search, Google search console to see what queries bring users to your site and adjust your content accordingly. Voice search is another game changer for 2024 voice searches are typically longer and more conversational So if you're a chiropractor instead of focusing on keywords like back pain relief Consider optimizing for phrases like how can I relieve my back pain at home? This way your content aligns better with the natural language used in voice queries A candle making business, for example, optimized their blog content to answer voice search queries, like how to make soy candles at home. This not only improved their voice search rankings, but also increased traffic from users looking for detailed step by step guides. To get started, use tools like Answer the Public to find common questions related to your niche and integrate those into your search. into your content. The fourth trend is the growing importance of video content in your SEO, your search engine optimization. YouTube is the second largest search engine on the web, and videos often appear in Google search results, creating high quality content Video content can significantly boost your SEO efforts. For instance, a wellness coach could create a workout video or a healthy recipe tutorial. Not only does this provide value to your audience, but it also helps you rank higher on both YouTube and on Google. So let's look at a tech company that started a YouTube channel featuring product demos and how to videos. By optimizing their video titles, descriptions, and tags with relevant keywords, they saw a substantial increase in both YouTube views and their website traffic. Remember to transcribe your videos and include the transcripts on your website to capture even more search traffic. We do that With all of the podcasts that we record as a blog post and use the transcript as part of the blog posts with key tags associated with it, really easy way to repurpose content across multiple channels. Now, let's look at, let's talk about E A T, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. Google uses this criteria to evaluate the quality of your content, especially for Y M Y L, your money on your life sites, which include health, social media. wellness and financial advice. Demonstrating each can help improve your site's credibility and your ranking. So if you're in the health and wellness industry, make sure your content is written by or reviewed by certified professionals and includes authoritative sources. A holistic vet can boost its eat by including veterinarian credentials on their website, linking to reputable sources, and regularly updating their content with the latest research. Likewise, a tech blog can improve trust by featuring articles written by industry experts and providing thorough, well researched information. Structured data, also known as schema markup, is another essential element for safety. SEO in 2024. It helps search engines understand the content of your pages better and can enhance your search listings with rich snippets. For example, a pet store can use schema markup to display product ratings, prices, and availability of products. directly in their search results, making their listings more attractive and way more clickable. Implementing structured data can seem very technical, but there are tools like Google's Structured Data Markup Helper that can make it easier. A chiropractic clinic, for example, used schema markup to show FAQs and search results, leading to higher click through rates and much better visibility on the web. Finally, let's discuss the importance of building high quality backlinks. Backlinks remain a critical ranking factor, but in 2024, the focus is more on quality than quantity. A single link from a reputable site in your industry is worth more than dozens of thousands. Of links from low quality sites, reach out to industry blogs, contribute guest posts, and create shareable content to earn all those valuable links. Consider a pet care business that wrote a comprehensive guide on pet nutrition and collaborated with a pet, a popular pet blog to feature it. This not only drove traffic, but also significantly boosted their SEO. Tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush can help you identify backlink opportunities and monitor your link building progress. So to recap, the key SEO trends for 2024 are enhanced user experience, AI and machine learning, voice search optimization, video content, EAT, structured data, and high quality backlinks.
