Horace McMillon

Your past is not your future.

Some of us have done some things that we are really not proud of. Maybe most of us have.

But who we were yesterday doesn’t have to control what we do today or who we become tomorrow.

No better example of this than the Apostle Paul. Prior to his spiritual experience on the road to Damascus, his religious understanding and practices caused him to persecute early Jesus followers. He was complicit in some of their executions.

After his experience, he learned a new way of thinking and a new way of practicing that freed his mind and changed everything about how he lived. It was an ongoing process he had to practice daily.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press ontoward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 3:13-14

Forget who you used to be and keep stretching to become who you were meant to be.

I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
