Speaker 1:

always be iconic, yeah, but she's the iconic champ I like it.

Speaker 3:

I like controversy contains information I am drinking kombucha you're listening to orlando, unplugged, celebrating life in living color with dustin and ashley. Grab a cocktail or a mocktail and let's get Unplugged. Orlando.

Speaker 2:

What's up Unplugged fam. I'm Dustin and I'm Ashley, and welcome back to another episode of Orlando, unplugged Mini Mic Edition. Episode 27.5.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I guess we can't really say another episode of mini mic edition.

Speaker 2:

This is the first time we've done mini mic edition no, I did the mini mic when we did our interview with uh shan we did do mini mic with shan. I forgot so shout out to shan.

Speaker 1:

Hey, you know what's funny to me? Every single episode.

Speaker 2:

Somehow, some way shan gets included in it well, considering how every other episode she's in our title, that's very valid. Yep, hey, shan, first off, apologies if the sound is odd. We do not have the whole setup today because we actually will not be coming out with a full episode this week. That's correct. We're just jumping on to say hi and kind of fill in and let you guys know what's going on.

Speaker 1:

Give you a little bit of a quick update before we head out to knoxville, tennessee. I'm so excited. Hey, hey, ready for update number one. What?

Speaker 2:

I'm 28.

Speaker 1:

Now you? I know I hate it too do you feel older? I've been feeling older midlife crisis era. I'm effectively in it. Yeah, it's a thing we're not doing. Great bruce is here. She's co-starring. Yeah, hi, bruce, don't need the cord please.

Speaker 2:

So we won't be doing a full episode this week, um because, uh, we are in actually ashley's in the middle of packing and we stopped for a few minutes um to record this, so I can edit it and throw it up, because it is at the time of this recording 10 15 tuesday, july 30th and our flights leave tomorrow morning at 10 am and ashley's just now packing.

Speaker 1:

Wow what a full circle. This podcast has gone because you remember, when we first started the podcast way back in january, we were like, oh my god, we're gonna be taking ashley to up to knoxville and we're gonna be doing chocolate fest. And then we did the episode for chocolate fest and you're like yeah, guess who didn't pack until two hours before we're getting on a plane. Hey guys, it's the night before, not two hours before somebody.

Speaker 2:

Be proud of me yeah, you're not packing at two o'clock in the morning, no, um, shout out to our friend jordan, who's coming to pick us up in the morning to drive us all the way up to sanford international airport, um 45 minutes away from orlando international, which is 10 minutes away from here because flights are expensive from there, so, so expensive, so random word of advice If you ever fly in and out of Orlando, use Allegiant. Fly direct into Sanford international airport.

Speaker 1:

Does this mean we get our pickles tomorrow?

Speaker 2:

Uh, as long as I have.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I don't know what was the other thing that we, that we were like oh, we have to get that again.

Speaker 2:

Our mush. Please sponsor our video. This is not a video. Our podcast, the whole podcast. I can tell our sound quality is going to be really bad just by seeing the recording and seeing the sound waves.

Speaker 1:

It's so high right now oh no um but that's fine hey, um another fun life update I have there's there's leaking happening in my house I've got.

Speaker 2:

I have the volume set way too high. I'm gonna pull it down in the middle of recording this is also going to be like a little test for us guys. We're gonna see um what this does, how this sounds like. Yeah, this is a trash episode, guys, I'm so sorry. Oh my God, Ashley, our on air lights not on. Turn the on air light on.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, that's probably why our quality doesn't work yeah.

Speaker 2:

We have this nice little light that our friend Hallie got us. Boom, oh Jesus I looked into the light. On air Also real quick.

Speaker 2:

I want to throw a special shout out. Slash totally didn't say I should give him a shout out, but we are but my coworker, nick, that I work with at one of my jobs down here. Hi, nick, he came in to where I worked a couple months in. I'm going to turn the volume. Well, I don't know. I'm going to turn the volume back up. I'm nervous it's not recording well. He came in and started working with me a couple months ago, um, and just like in random conversation we brought up the podcast and he has listened to our entire library all 20, I think it was. I think we were at like 24 episodes, maybe no, I think we're like closer to 20, but he'd listen to like all of them in like a week and a half.

Speaker 1:

Get out of here. Thanks, nick, what a super listener.

Speaker 3:

I know hey.

Speaker 1:

Nick, can you do me a favor? Can you text the show? That would be cool. Just go back to all those episodes you listened to and just text every episode. Can you imagine?

Speaker 2:

Oh, we would get so much, but hey that would be doing. So. We are going to be flying up to Knoxville. Our friend Mercadu is going to pick us up from the airport, hi Mercadu, and then we're going to go grab some lunch at my favorite spot, osaka Osaka Japanese Grill.

Speaker 1:

So excited.

Speaker 2:

And then from there we're going to pop across the street to visit my grandmother, hi. From there we're going to pop across the street to visit my grandmother, hi, graham, and then going to run by Walmart grab some needed things we need for the weekend. And at that point we are going to be meeting up with all of our friends at Frightworks to start loading up the vehicle and we're doing a preload in. So we'll be going to the Knoxville Convention Center to unload all of the CreepyCon stuff the stage backdrop, the merch merch booth and all those things. We're actually going to set those up a day ahead of time Before all the vendors come in. Thursday is going to be vendor load in All day long. It's going to be super fun.

Speaker 1:

I can't wait.

Speaker 2:

Friday morning is going to be vendor load in completion and then the show will open. We'll close the show out and then we're going to go to a really fun after party that I don't remember where it's at. Oh no, we're going to the concourse, yes, which is a really cool place in knoxville. It's unfortunately closing, so this is kind of our creepy con slash shindig with them, and then saturday, we've got the show all day long again and then another after party at a new location.

Speaker 2:

Sunday is going to be the final day of the show. Yes, and then and then we'll have Loadout Monday. If we don't feel like absolute garbage, we're going to be going to the friendliest place in the Smokies Dollywood. We're going to be going to Dollywood. We're going to ride on the Big Bear Mountain.

Speaker 1:

And Lightning Rod and the Choo Choo Train. I'm so excited. And Cinnamon Bread.

Speaker 2:

And Cinnamon Bread the clown from Terrifier on Saturday.

Speaker 1:

Yes, but no, you missed something even more important. What Ash is going to go back to her favorite coffee place in the entire world.

Speaker 2:

Coffee and Chocolate. Coffee and Chocolate, god. I love that place, located in Market Square and 1NPAL, near Frightworks.

Speaker 1:

I can't wait. I'm so, so, so, so excited. I can't wait.

Speaker 2:

And who knows, if we have time maybe we'll pop into to alice in appalachia and get one of those edible and, of course, our candy shop. I cannot go without the candy shop, even though you got candy last week from the same candy shop. That's about to next, though, the same what candy shop, candy shop, candy shop, candy shop. But yeah, this one, this event. I think this event's gonna be fun because ashley is terrified out of her mind of halloween.

Speaker 2:

I may or may not have already mentioned that to diana, and she may or may not be planning something super fun for you to do this weekend.

Speaker 1:

I'm not scared at all.

Speaker 2:

So speaking of texting the show, yeah do it.

Speaker 1:

That was a long time ago.

Speaker 2:

But speaking of texting the show, you guys can text us at any point now this weekend. We get live notifications, so the moment you text us we are going to get it. Let us know if there is something in the knoxville area that you want to maybe see or you want to see us visit or you want to know more about, and if we have time we'll swing by uh and check it out. There's lots of amazing history in that area. So if we have time, I'm hoping to have time to actually go outside the convention center this weekend and take you up to the sun sphere and show you world's fair park, where the 1982 world's fair was held.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited for this. I'm also super, super excited for all the photos and everything like that, and you can watch all of those and see everything like follow on all of our social media platforms instagram, facebook, twitter, all of it. We got it. We're not on. We're on tiktok, but we're not tiktok yet, guys, but we are definitely social media-ing.

Speaker 2:

I don't have time for that.

Speaker 1:

Well, I will have time for that.

Speaker 2:

We do want to bring some news to you guys, to just let you know, be aware that it is coming, so you don't get the shock. We've got probably about another month, maybe a month and a half of weekly episodes coming out.

Speaker 1:

And then we'll be at the end of season one a sad face, but so excited that we're getting so close and so well deserved yes, very so.

Speaker 2:

Ashley and I we kind of had a chat. Um, I will be taking on a temporary assignment, um, during the halloween season down here in orlando. I'm so excited for you I can't talk about it. But, um, because of that and just everything that we've got going on, and because we've been doing this podcast every single week, um, we just want to take a well-deserved, a well-deserved break for a couple of weeks. Um, we want to focus on work and focus on all of that.

Speaker 2:

Ashley had to step away, so I'm going to be ending this on my own, um, but we thank you guys for listening to us. We hope that you guys, uh, enjoy the remainder of season one, uh, and we hope that you guys will come back whenever we start up season two, um, but, yeah, with that being said, we hope you guys have a great week. We'll see you guys next, uh, back next week to talk a little bit about our adventures to bush garden last week and the total, pure chaos that it was, um, and our trip back to knoxville for the I don't remember what annual creepy con, halloween and horror convention out of knoxville, tennessee. So, until next week, stay safe, stay educated and share our podcast with your friends, your family and, of course, your favorite bartender. That felt so weird me saying that.
