Let's ease into 2024 💨 Join co-hosts April Jackson and Wesley Hamilton LIVE for their monthly Sunday Safe Spaces discussion this weekend at 10AM.

These community conversations for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color happen monthly. Each month we share stories and individual experiences from the intersections of race and disability while exploring healing + wellness tools for mind and body.

This month, we welcome Dr. Hankins back! Melissa Hankins, MD, CPC is the CEO and Founder of Melissa Hankins Coaching, a coaching and consulting firm that is committed to helping physicians and others overcome burnout, and helping organizations create and maintain psychologically safe work environments and sustainable well-being for their employees. Dr Hankins is a certified executive coach, Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (“tapping”) practitioner. In addition to leading her own organization, Dr Hankins also serves as faculty for The Academy of Creative Coaching, an ICF-accredited coach training organization.

Here are some potential topics we will explore together:
1) We are discussing easing into 2024 which is different from the hustle of setting goals, intentions, etc. what are your thoughts around this?
2) Can you share what EFT means, what the practice is and how is it beneficial for us?
3) How is EFT accessible for all people, especially those who have different abilities and ?
4) In "medical - health and wellness spaces" there are fewer people of color who receive the resources, practices and accessibility to services. What has been your experience as a professional in this space and what advice do you have for us?
5) What are you currently reading, listening to or practicing for your own self care?

Disabled But Not Really's mission is to empower and inspire individuals with disabilities to overcome challenges and reach their potential by fostering a mindset of courage, confidence, and competence. They aim to educate individuals and their communities on ways to help improve the overall quality of life for people living with a disability.
