A Conversation with Broadway & Television Actor Jill Abramovitz
Jill Abramovitz is a performer and writer originally from Morristown, NJ. On Broadway, she’s been in Beetlejuice, Fiddler on The Roof, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, 9 to 5 and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, and appeared as Golde in Fiddler on the Roof at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn and matriarch Lillian Kantrowitz in A Walk on the Moon at the George Street Playhouse. On television she’s had recurring roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Chicago Med and has appeared in FBI: Most Wanted, The Blacklist, Bluebloods, The Last OG and others. Also an award-winning writer, Jill contributed lyrics to Broadway’s It Shoulda Been You, and she has multiple projects in development. She is a passionate teacher, and she spends as much time as she can coaching students and leading group classes. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (@upenn.edu) Morristown High School, Jill currently lives in New York City with her husband, composer Brad Alexander, and her son, 8th grader Leo.
