CRC_001-2-002:
Why are
Anna:
are we doing this? You might ask. Um, before we get into the pod, we wanted to talk to you about why we're making a podcast for the everyday amateur runner.
PP:
we think that running has an image problem, don't we Anna?
Anna:
We do.
PP:
We hear our friends saying the same things all the time. Running is boring
Anna:
It's too much about weight loss.
PP:
I'm not motivated enough to run, or I'm not strong enough, or I'm not fit enough to run.
Anna:
now! I'm not a runner
PP:
I say with me now,

runner. This image of running and what it means to be a runner is exacerbated by the fact that most running related media is focused on the serious competitive runner. And for good reason, they're obviously unbelievably inspiring,
Anna:
but we thought it was about time to shine a light on a very different kind of runner, the amateur runner
PP:
A definition of amateur is someone who does something for the love of it. And this is the kind of runner that we really wanted to give some air time to.
Anna:
to. So, we think everyday running needs a little bit of rebrand, and that's exactly what this podcast exists to do. Make running more accessible, sustainable, and most importantly, fun. We want to challenge the concept of not a runner and unpack all the different relationships that people have with running.
PP:
with running. Yeah, we want to explore the different reasons people run that have nothing to do with weight loss or high performance. We want to look at running as a social outlet, running for your mental health, running to get outside or create structure or de stress or make friends.
Anna:
want to demystify running and unpack the mistakes that everyone, ourselves included, make when we're trying to get into running or balance it with the rest of our lives.
PP:
Mostly, we just want an excuse to talk about more. Welcome to
Anna:
So welcome to the unofficial meeting place for your everyday
PP:
what should you episode we're going to be diving into a topic that keeps amateur runners up at keeps amateur runners up at night. For example, how do you manage rest day anxiety?
CRC_001-2-002:
What's a
Anna:
a good running goal?
CRC_001-2-002:
How do
PP:
do you balance running with the rest of your life?
Anna:
What is the best sports bra to use Oh, that's a huge Please tell me.
