Anabaptist Mom Talk
Join me as I chit-chat about adoption, motherhood, and living for Jesus in the unique anabaptist culture.
I'm an Anabaptist mom of seven children (some adopted, some biological) and wife to my favorite human since 2005. A follower of Jesus, actively seeking to know the Lord more intimately by reading The Word and daily seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I make lots of mistakes along the way but thankful for the forgiveness and hope of Jesus!
It won't take you long to realize, I'm not a professional podcaster by any means. No fancy set up, just me recording into my cellphone in my closet. But better to start small, then to not start at all. I hope you will stick around, I'm glad you are here.

23: Wrong Convictions
Behavior change without understanding is conformity not obedience.
Do you agree or disagree?
Is there a behavior change but still a rebellious or hard heart?
This relates to my journey of wearing the headcovering.
Despite my rebellion, the Lord used my outward change to protect me.
I had true repentance during my jr. year of high school.
Wrong convictions might have "protected" us.
Wrong convictions can end up guiding us, so it's good to evaluate what we are believing.
Awarness is the first step to change.
Admit the wrong conviction.
Dive into the word, pray and listeen, go to counseling or talk to a trusted friend.
If we have insight without any behavioral change, its just an academic change, not true repentance.
Reading the Word is a way that God draws our hearts to him.
Questions:
Was there true repentance at my conversion or at sometime in my timeline?
Is your spirit in conformity or obedience? Take it to Jesus for guideance.
Is your behavior changed because you want to obey God or just because your church tells you to?
Dig deep, seek Jesus, pray. I believe he as good things for those who love him.
