Teaching is hard. It's harder today than it was more than 15 years ago when I first stepped into the classroom. I've had my share of self-doubt, burnout, and searching for more in my career. After teaching for 15 years, I transitioned to a tech role at an ed-tech company. It was a tough transition. Having to seek out different resources and piece the puzzle together. Not to mention building up enough courage to finally decide that my mental health and career growth meant more to me than the familiarity and stability of teaching. Transitioning careers can be challenging. Especially when teaching has been your identity for so long.
I'm Zee Arnold, and I'm excited to announce the launch of the UX Teacher Prep Podcast, on February 20th, 2024. In our time together, we're going to align our efforts toward a shared objective. Escaping burnout and finding balance in life to unleash our creativity. Drawing from my eight years of coaching experience and professional teaching background, I specialize in guiding teachers through their career pivot to tech. Specifically user experience also known as UX. Throughout each season, you'll learn about combating burnout, coping with career transition uncertainties, resume writing portfolio, building, interviewing techniques, and so much more. I'll also feature inspiring stories from guest former teachers who have successfully transitioned to creative careers, such as UX Researcher, UX Writer (Content Designer), UX Designer, and product Manager. You'll get insights into the job search process and learn what to expect beyond the first 90 days of your new role... and let me tell you it's very different from the first 90 days of teaching! The bottom line is every teacher deserves a fulfilling career that allows them to thrive professionally and personally. I have a heart for teachers because I've been there where you are right now. And I'm on a mission to empower teachers to make career moves that prioritize work-life balance and overall wellness. If you're ready to make a change, but don't know where to start.
