Katelyn, is a registered nurse. She was determined to have a homebirth with her first child. Despite her professional background and thorough preparation, she found herself at 41 weeks and three days without the midwife she had grown to trust. Although she remained open to the new situation, Katelyn and the substitute midwife were ultimately unable to fulfil her wish for a homebirth. This was a deeply emotional and challenging experience which left an indelible mark on her heart and led her to seek healing after a birth that strayed so far from her initial hopes and expectations.
