Mar 14, 2024 Season 1 Episode 8
Daniel and Jordan

Ever found yourself chuckling at the thought of St. Patrick's Day being about fast food or mischievous priests? Daniel and Jordan are here, mixing humor with heart as we reminisce about the holiday's quirks and our favorite cartoon "Doug," while also tackling the heavier stuff like my daughter's bout with double pneumonia. We're all about those moments that keep us real—like celebrating my son Eli's birthday—because life's rich tapestry is woven with both laughter and tears.

Struggling to strike that perfect harmony between digital distractions and the tangible world? We're getting personal about our own digital dilemmas and childhood tech tales, contrasting them with the challenges facing today's kids. Join us as we muse over starting a side podcast dedicated to the life of an artist in a monetized world, and find out why sometimes, unplugging to bask in the 'good old days' can be just the remedy for a world saturated in pixels and likes.

And just when you think life's daily annoyances can't get any more...well, annoying, we've got a tale or two that'll have you nodding in exasperated agreement. From rogue conditioner pumps to the curious case of post-nap zest, we cover it all—ending on a lighter note with grooming tips you didn't know you needed and a heartfelt acknowledgment of the support from you, our listeners. So come on over, unpack these stories with us, and let's share a few laughs, nods, and maybe even a groan or two.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:00
Good morning everybody. I'm Daniel, hey punk, and I'm Jordan, and we're Daniel and. Jordan. So what about those?

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:27
weirdos. Earlier this morning there's two weirdos on the porch. Yeah, I know, pretty weird, huh Weirdos.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:33
Dude, I don't even understand St Patty's Day, to be honest with you.

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:36
I have no idea either. It seems like we should have done some research before this, but we didn't.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:40
That's not like us.

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:41
That would require reading or.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:43
And I don't do much of that.

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:45
Or listening. We don't do any of that either, so If I could take a guess, go ahead.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:52
Science by Daniel states that St Patty's Day has to do with some sort of Patty.

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:00
Yeah, McDonald's, Wendy's, that's what I'm, that's my honest to God. Guess St Patty's? Yeah that came before. Mcdonald's and Wendy's probably the original cheeseburger.

Daniel Lawson
Host
01:08
In 1680.

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:10
Yeah, 1680. That's a. It's gotta be around there somewhere. Yeah, 1680 to 1720. That or something with Catholic priests and we know how those stories usually go, so I won't dig deeper into that.

Daniel Lawson
Host
01:24
Yeah, that's. I think you're onto something. To be honest with you.

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:28
I think they were onto something.

Daniel Lawson
Host
01:30
But whenever I hear Patty, I think of the only Patty I know is Patty Manet's from Doug. Yeah, I don't think that's it, which is a iconic cartoon of our era.

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:41
Of our era. Yeah, I don't think anyone else knows, besides people, our age.

Daniel Lawson
Host
01:45
Yeah, I was in Seven Brew the other morning and you know I was asking about what a St Patty's Day and I had no clue, of course. So the lady Googled it and I was like the only St Patty I know is Patty Manet's from Doug. And she was like who's that? I was like how old are you? She said 17. I was like okay.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:01
No, she doesn't know. She don't know about that life You're missing out.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:05
Doug was like one of the best cartoons.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:08
Do kids watch cartoons? Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network Is that all gone? They don't watch.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:13
You know they had that weird scandal, the Nickelodeon. Oh boy, Did you know about that? No, what happened? So there was like molestation involved.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:21
This has to be allegedly oh, it's a Netflix, it's on.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:23
Netflix. It's a Netflix special. Nickelodeon's like dark side of Nickelodeon. The dude who created the show can't remember his name, but like your iconic shows Zack and Cody Raven, Lizzie McGuire, stuff like that. What's the new one? I, carly, yeah, I got all those like there was a lot of like weird touchy-filly things going on. Well this isn't allegedly. They make pretty good art. I wouldn't mind being slimed, you know To be honest with you. But you know, onto my weekly adventure, we'll skip St Patrick's Day because I don't know enough about it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:15
But Happy St Patrick's Day. Yeah, Happy St Patrick's Day. Go have you a beer or something.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:19
I like green beer, and I've noticed your voice is changing a little bit. What do you think's the contributing?

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:25
I told you last week, Daniel, I was becoming more of a man.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:28
Yeah, your mustache is a little darker today. I mean, is it? I didn't notice?

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:32
It looks good. Well, I guess maybe that's just a growing in a little bit more. I think you don't trim it from here on out. Yeah, maybe it's. I think it's filling out.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:38
Yeah, maybe I'll grow a handlebar and it could be the hat, you know, casting a shadow on it? I don't know.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:43
Yeah, I don't know, it's just the whole thing I've got going on now.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:45
It's good.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:46
You know? Yeah, you should see my chest.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:48
You know, mark and Harry will keep that put away for, like Mal, you show me after the show. But so my week, man, let me, let me just feel you guys in. It's been a. It's been a long week. Letton's been really sick. For the past couple of weeks Actually, we've been back and forth to Russville. I'm trying to figure out what's been going on. Come to find out. I wish I would have checked sooner, but they did the x-ray and she has like double pneumonia in both lungs double pneumonia yeah.

04:13
So what's double? Monia is like you have it in one lung and then double pneumonia is the fluid in both lungs and it was actually pretty bad. Is that common with kids? Double pneumonia I don't know as many kids as I have. She's the only one that I've ever had pneumonia.

Jordan Hunter
Host
04:30
Out of all 17.

Daniel Lawson
Host
04:32
She's the only one with me. I don't have 17 kids, I'm just playing, but I have no idea. But you know, it's just, it's hard when she's that sick, because she's up all night and then, as the parents, you know, you're just, you're not feeling it the next day. But kids are. They could sleep on three hours and be ready to roll, you know. Yeah, so between her not sleeping, being fussy throughout the day, us not getting enough rest to be able to take care of her, it's just, it's been rough, you know.

04:59
But on top of that, eli's birthday was on the first, so we celebrated his birthday this week and then had a like a little bowling thing. You got to play games and all the kids from school came over. But besides that, man just work, spending time with the family. I have been doing one day throughout the week that we just chill, you know so, whether it's watching movie or just sit on the couch, even, but just to kind of unplug and just focus on more time with the family, and that's something I've been working on. Yeah, you know we've been talking about.

Jordan Hunter
Host
05:35
So yeah, it's a good thing to have in mind, to be mindful of, for sure. Let's see here. I've got no kids, so let's see here. I Played a new video game earlier this week. Let's hear. It's called hell divers to it's this cool concept.

Daniel Lawson
Host
05:49
Is that the one you and Dawson were talking about?

Jordan Hunter
Host
05:52
No, I think I mentioned it to him passing. Now he was on a pex. Oh, gotcha Hell. Divers to is this new video game made by a small company that's blown up and so they can't keep the servers going because so many people play. But the concept is it's like futuristic America, where you're all about freedom and every player in the game, you're all playing together to fight off aliens and robots that are trying to inhabit your planet. And it's real, real time, real life. They're actually coming in and you go to these planets and you help liberate the planet of aliens and robots and it helps a small percentage to fight back and everyone, every player in the games fighting you back against.

Daniel Lawson
Host
06:28
Kind of reminds me of America. Yeah, that's what we're doing.

Jordan Hunter
Host
06:32
We're doing it virtually. Yeah to train for in however many years we're actually doing it. You're. You could be on to something again.

Daniel Lawson
Host
06:40
I could be a lieutenant, I think in the future I mean with that mustache you could definitely be something in the bedroom, no, but yeah.

Jordan Hunter
Host
06:47
So I played some new game this week, did a lot of editing. I had an interesting week where my oldest brother who he has his PhD, so he's a Bakuta smart and that's.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:02
he knows what that word means. I don't, but I've heard it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
07:06
Yeah, he is Uber smart and obviously, because it wasn't Uber, it was Bakuta- I don't think any of these are words that we're using. Uber is an app, but he came into town to visit my grandfather, who's 93 years old, living here, and that's incredible dude 93. 93 was in World War Two. He was in World War Two. Yeah, he was on the Navy, on the ship.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:36
Dude, I bet he's got some crazy stories, oh yeah.

Jordan Hunter
Host
07:39
Yeah, a lot of it's about the food getting infected with mice on the ship.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:43
Wow.

Jordan Hunter
Host
07:44
Yeah, so he came into town to see him and we were. He came to visit and I was talking to him about his youngest son who was into puppets, and I told him I was like well, if he's into puppets. He should like make some shorts and reels of like short video form. Get you know, make some editing. You can make good money doing that.

08:03
And this raised this whole conversation about where we're headed with short attention spans and short form content shortening our attention spans. So I'm going to do this real quick. So, basically, what's happening is we watch these short films right, it boosts our dopamine levels, and then we watch too much of it. Our baseline dopamine the amount of dopamine we need to get to fill pleasure gets raised. Well, if it's so high, the small pleasures in life, like going and taking a walk, having a conversation with a friend, no longer feel pleasurable. You now have to get that high from something else, and that weighed on my mind real heavy this week.

08:41
And but you know, I've came to a place that, like my intentions are great and good and this is maybe the evolution of man that of course we need to be wary. Of course we need to be aware of these things and you yourself and discipline be just disciplined to make sure that you're not falling into these weird, you know, groundhog days where you're doing the same thing over and over and all that. And I feel like it's my responsibility to say that here in this podcast and I know that doesn't absolve me of whatever, but it also I think it's a good thing to raise awareness of these things.

Daniel Lawson
Host
09:15
Yeah, for sure, and you know me being a creator and us being a creator. You know it's.

09:22
You can definitely tell the difference from when we were kids to my kids now you know, as far as you know, then, being involved with technology and then constantly swiping and watching YouTube videos, youtube wasn't what it was back then. I mean, it was a thing, but it was nowhere what it is today and how you are talking about the attention spans. So, like you said, just be weary about it and just, you know, make your kids go outside and play. It's okay to be on technology, technology is is great and it does huge things and it's done great things for America and it's done great things for us. But just keeping them back of your head, that you know.

10:00
Stop and smell the roses, you know, go outside, go play basketball, go exercise. You know, it's not only good for the body, it's good for the mind too. And, like you said, as far as enjoying those small walks and family time, you know, and you don't all want to be sitting there on the phone scrolling and that's that's the new family time, you know. But, like you said, as long as you're disciplined and you know, it's okay to have those things and it's okay to utilize those things because it's a tool and it's entertainment, right, but be smart about it. Go outside, have fun, enjoy a nice day, you know, maybe in the evenings, wind down a little bit before you go to bed, but take advantage of these nice days we have. You know, and that's what I've been preaching to Elon, like dude, you need to go outside. I know you like Fortnite, you know. Go outside for a little bit. You can have the tablet later when it's when it's dark outside.

10:47
Go play, go have fun you know, I think it's important that we teach that to our kids for sure.

Jordan Hunter
Host
10:53
Yeah, I think, yeah, and this is as adults, it's not just for kids, I mean kids is really important because, right, we're setting them up for the future and they're not maybe aware of these things and they don't know what the old world was like. But even as adults, you know what the old world is like. We're like this new world's pretty effing cool, and so we need to be more mindful of it too, because I think it's just easy to get lost in feeling nowadays and not sit back and think, and we're too afraid of our thoughts sometimes. And I think it's important to to enjoy long form content like this podcast, like other podcasts, like movies, like going and hanging out with a friend for a night, all those things long form. There's a lot of magic in that and a lot, of, a lot of fun to be had.

11:41
Yeah, a lot of different type of fun and and and you know, I know your phone is really fun too, but yeah, it's just it makes space for everything. Balance things, If you think about it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
11:49
When you get with a group of friends and you kind of reminisce on things that you did back in the day, you're always like those were the good old days. You know, yeah, we could be still living the good old days if we practice some of those things that we did back then, like go out with friends to the bowling alley and play some games and have fun, or go outside with a group of kids and play flashlight tag. I mean, those were truly the good old days, oh man. But we could be living that now if we just, if we just kind of like what I was saying earlier and what you said, unplug and just live in the moment for a little bit, put the electronics down and have a good time.

Jordan Hunter
Host
12:23
You know, yeah, yeah, schedule it, maybe leave your phone out of the bedroom. Just little things. Little things, I think will help you. Just get back in your mind a little bit, more and less on the screen.

12:33
I agree, but, anyways, I don't want to go too on to that because that's been my entire, which maybe he's lost a little bit of sleep about it. I have. I woke up at five the other day and I couldn't sleep and you know it's a problem if I have not, like I'm going right back to bed until 15 minutes before I have to be at work. Yeah, yeah, and it's just a real quick thing. I want to add, I think I'm going to start my little side podcast and it's just going to be short form and it's called Jordan thinks and where I'm just going to spill out my thoughts on things like this, where it's like to be, maybe, an artist moving into this age of monetization and what my thoughts and experiences are through that. That I don't want to spill all too much here because this is a place for fun and to be with my buddy and so, yeah, I'll just pay attention. I'll probably bring it up again, but yeah, I think it's a good place to have like journaling, like I could journal.

Daniel Lawson
Host
13:23
Yeah, and if the name doesn't give it away, it's pretty much about what Jordan thinks.

Jordan Hunter
Host
13:28
And then I play a little music. I play it live. I'll play a little guitar part at the end, and then the idea is I come back through and listen to it back a second time and I interject and say, ok, right there, I said something that's actually wrong. I didn't mean that.

Daniel Lawson
Host
13:41
This is what I actually I feel and think about, because sometimes you do I mean I do it in my relationship we say things that we don't mean or we're just like kind of blabbering in the moment, and then when you play that back, I think that's a good idea. You know, playing it back, listening to it and like, well, I could see how I said that, but this is what I truly mean behind it, I think that's a good idea.

Jordan Hunter
Host
14:00
It's good to evaluate your thoughts and to maybe correct yourself. Yeah, sometimes, yeah, so that's my week.

Daniel Lawson
Host
14:07
Well, sweet man. Well, now you know what time it is. It's time for the word of the week, and I'd love to do this introduction every time, so I'm going to do it right now, the moment you've been waiting for, the man with a size 12 shoe but a size two wiener I'm an Jordan Hunter.

Jordan Hunter
Host
14:26
Thank you, Daniels, I'll jerk you off later. The word of the week this week is focus.

Daniel Lawson
Host
14:35
Oh nice, so I like that.

Jordan Hunter
Host
14:37
Since I was having a hard time with what we were talking about earlier. Daniel and I were on the phone the other night and Daniel had mentioned something that I had a conversation with another friend who has mentioned to me about is my lack of ability to stay focused on one thing, to really finish projects, to stay. It was actually more than one friend. Now that I'm saying this out loud, I'll have a lot of people by my parents, my friends.

Daniel Lawson
Host
15:00
Let's see.

Jordan Hunter
Host
15:01
Yeah, yeah, Maybe this is my biggest issue is staying focused on one thing and finishing full thoughts and building something for the future, and I think that a little bit of this is the age we're in the age of distraction, where our phones distract us, where everything around us is distracting us. It's hard for everyone, it's really hard for me, and we all think we have ADHD or whatever. Now, Focus and I don't even know. This is where the week, I don't have any advice for you. I'm looking for advice. I think and I think maybe the word of the week might turn into this more like me talking about things that I need help with.

Daniel Lawson
Host
15:38
Yeah, and you guys can leave comments in the description or on the video here on YouTube or, if you're listening on audio, go over to the YouTube and feel free to give us some advice on these issues, because, I mean, we're gonna give you our take on it, but we're looking for your advice as well. But I think focus is a good word of the week and, just to elaborate on his issue, he's so talented in everything. I mean, the dude's a musician, he's good looking, a cowboy. He's a cowboy today, you know. But seriously, he has so many talents and he excels in all those talents.

16:17
But it's like, what is that one thing that you truly love and that you truly wanna focus on and that you can put your undivided attention on it? You're good at video games, you're great at music, you're a good speaker, you're a good influencer, but out of all that and this is where a vision board will help us in the future is finding that one thing. What is your true mission? And focusing on that and it's okay to do all this other stuff, you know, but what's your end goal? You know what I mean, and staying focused on that, I feel like, is mostly important.

Jordan Hunter
Host
16:52
Yeah, a set of priorities to where the other things are fun too, but they can't allow the main priorities to sacrifice if I'm too busy doing those other things.

Daniel Lawson
Host
17:04
Yeah, I agree, I have too many ideas sometimes, which isn't bad, but it can clutter your brain for your long term or even kinda hold you back at times. You know what I mean. So, and a lot of your ideas are grand. They're great ideas, and I feel the same way about myself too. I get, so I just wanna do, do, do, because I see potential in it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
17:29
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's exactly the feeling. It's that I can see how this could do and it happened and be unique to anything else that's out there.

Daniel Lawson
Host
17:37
So you want to do it? Yeah, but you're already got your foot in here or your arm in here, yeah, and you? I mean, you only got two hands. You can't have your hands in multiple buckets, you know and they got one of my pants, so I don't look and solely be focused and Accomplish one mission. And if that's the case, if you do have multiple things, prioritize those things, complete one goal here and then move on down that list. You know, um, I feel like that would help too.

Jordan Hunter
Host
18:07
Yeah, I think us finding our purpose last week has brought that more to the forefront. For me, it's like I have always been looking for Exactly where that light at the end of the tunnel is, and I think your purpose and your meaning is that light. Yeah, I think that that is where you have to head and I think that that's where your full focus has to be headed in that direction. And and I think maybe right now I might be just trying to define what that is I want to make sure that you know I obviously this here is.

18:41
I think I see all the potential in the world in this and and I think some of it is just I just want to make sure that I my focus isn't too much on myself having fun and that I'm making sure that I'm making the world a better place. Yeah and so and so that it does over complicate things, but and sometimes it feels like, like I told you, like the weight of the world is on my shoulders, and I think we all do that to ourselves sometimes, where we feel like what we do is never going to make a difference.

19:10
Yeah but um, I was talking to a friend yesterday. I think I think what we're meant to do is to touch the people around us and to change the people we can around us. Or your single goal as an individual is not to change the world. It's impossible to change by yourself, but if you change, you're just one person. You change three people.

19:30
Yep that's three people who might change. Three people who might change three people and influence and and build a community. That Is a spot where other people can see as a safe place, as a home, that they belong to, that they believe in the same ideologies and and stuff like that, and I think that that is what is is worth Living for, it's worth working towards, it's worth thinking about.

Daniel Lawson
Host
19:52
Yeah, and I talked about it on the last episode, with the whole donations going towards that firefighter with that had his home destroyed. You know, back when we started the awesome law sins, it's like I wanted to change the world and I just wanted to be a good place and I want laughter and positivity and just love, you know, but you have to take time and build that community and in doing that it's proof that it's possible and it's still growing like the mission is not over. But just the purpose just of what you said as far as building a community and us being able to raise that money from people we had no idea about, I think shows that things are doable in that you know what I mean. That is, that is making a difference.

Jordan Hunter
Host
20:36
It's not Changing the world per se. Who knows, maybe it's a butterfly effect when that start of something. It rolls something right. You aren't In position to decide what happens after that. You just have and control what's in control for you. And yeah, things like that are important to keep in mind and to keep in mind, and sometimes we fill the weight of the world on our shoulders and it's not about what you can't control.

20:59
It's about what you can't control, and that's the beauty of life, honestly, is that you don't have the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Daniel Lawson
Host
21:05
It's just you feeling like you got your weight of the world and focus for me, you know, as I could be too focused on this and not focused on Unplugging, just like what, being mindful of my family, being mindful of my wife and spending time with her.

21:24
And it's like you know, sometimes we can be too involved and that's where you have to. You know I I battle with it daily because I have I have a couple hands in different things and you know, being in social media, it's a lot of work and it's a lot of planning and scheduling, and you know, especially when something Is going up every single day. So my focus could be solely on one thing. That you know, at the end of the day, I'm married too, you know. So I have to take in consideration of my wife, my kids and I can't be solely focused on one thing. I can make it a high priority, but I have to understand like I got unplugged for it One day unplug, spend time with the kids, which I spend time with them every day, but solely focus on them and nothing else.

22:12
Yeah, whether it's the kids, the wife, when the kids go to bed, we watch a movie. You know what I mean. So that's what I've been working on and I feel like I'm doing a lot better. There's still work to be done. It's not a finished project for me, but it's a weekly. I feel like I'm taking a step in the right direction.

Jordan Hunter
Host
22:30
Yeah, sounds like you and I could both go each other's way a little bit huh. Maybe, that's the beauty you and I balance each other out. Maybe we should get married. We're a fucking seesaw.

Daniel Lawson
Host
22:40
Bad analogy. Yeah, I see what you're saying. For sure, a little bit of ying and the yang a little bit, yeah, a little bit, of the salt and pepper. Yeah, push it, but know that and know that just to push it and take it out, please well, um, you know, something's been laying on my mind lately, oh really, yeah. You know what just grabs my meat? You know what? Just sides me just gets my goat. What, daniel? In other words, we like to say twist our nips oh.

23:22
What twist your nips? Conditioner, pump. Conditioner Is the plenty elaborate Dove, to be precise. So I'm in the shower okay, this is what to twist my nips. I'm in the shower and we have a dove pump. Okay, we got two levels in the shower. One is up here, one is down here. Well, the conditioner is up here. I Don't know about you guys, but if you use conditioner, sometimes it gets a little crusty on the tip. Oh boy, you know where I'm going with this.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:00
Yeah, the crustiness yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:01
I got facialed by the dove pump conditioner.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:05
In the shower. Oh, it squirted off the top of it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:07
Yes, it so. Like the crust, like develops when the shit comes out of.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:14
I thought this was about, like the fact that you have to use conditioner because I stopped using it years ago.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:19
No, I use it daily, but somehow it morphs into the hardest crust in between uses. I don't know if it's the steam from the shower and then the cooling.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:27
You know once it goes, Daniel science Daniel, science is you know, proven a lot of things here on this show and, most importantly, never been unproved.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:35
Yeah, that's true, no one's no one's clap back yet, so take my word for it. Ok but yeah, so I go up to pump and when I pump I guess my so I just wash different. I wash my face, and why my face? Stuff's on there which has peppermint in it, so I can't open my eyes, ok.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:53
OK.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:53
It feels good, it wakes me up, but so I have my eyes closed and my routine is I close my eyes and I go up there and pump the conditioner. Well, I guess I didn't have the my hand over the whole thing, so when I pumped it it just fucking went all over my face, his eyes closed.

Jordan Hunter
Host
25:10
Yes, thank.

Daniel Lawson
Host
25:11
God, and I realize now why you close your eyes. You know you want to eat you. She's kind of. Let me close my eyes first, but seriously, I did just twist my nips man and pump in that conditioner and it hit me. It just pissed me off, yeah that is annoying, huh, mm, hmm.

Jordan Hunter
Host
25:32
Why don't they make it? What could they do to make that better? Huh, maybe like a self cleaning tool, a tool to clean off the tip of your you know why?

Daniel Lawson
Host
25:39
can't we just go back to the, the bottles, the? Which we probably have those. But make them jumbo because that's the plus side. That's the plus side of the pump conditioner. I get it because it's jumbo, yeah, the jumbo. So if they make the bottles jumbo, that has the top and you can spit on there. Just stop using conditioner, that could be a year ago.

Jordan Hunter
Host
26:03
I don't think it's helped.

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:05
Why did? Why did you stop using conditioner?

Jordan Hunter
Host
26:07
Oh, here's a little too thin, so when it gets too silky it's like oily. Yeah, I need to be real dry.

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:14
So hard water in? What's the shampoo that like cost a dollar at the?

Jordan Hunter
Host
26:21
I mean yeah, before Kani that was my life. Yeah, that's the good stuff. You know the name of it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:26
But I think it's V05, it's a dollar at the dollar store, it comes in multiple different scents and it dries the shit out of your scalp.

Jordan Hunter
Host
26:35
Be honest, that was the last conditioner I was using. Was that?

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:40
that could have been the problem. But yeah, we're going to start throwing this in there. I'm going to find something every week and there's a lot of shit that just pisses me off. Naps are another one. Naps, naps.

Jordan Hunter
Host
26:53
What pisses you?

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:53
up about a nap man. You asked me this question years ago. He was like I love a nap. Yeah, and Dustin loves a nap too.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:01
My cousin.

Daniel Lawson
Host
27:02
he can sleep five minutes and when he wakes up from a nap he's ready to seize the world like he's been asleep for eight months, yeah. A bear coming out of hibernation, just hungry as shit, if I could describe it. And he, yeah, I just naps. I don't know. I feel like they just piss me off because when I wake up I'm angry that I'm not sleeping more. Yeah, I would rather stay. I run best off of about five hours.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:28
You know, they say to do a 30 minute nap. Right, do you know?

Daniel Lawson
Host
27:31
right, because after 30 minutes you fall into whatever it's called, your deep sleep, rem sleep or whatever your rim cycle, and so you don't sleep long in the 30 minutes because you don't want to get into rim cycle and then interrupt that immediately.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:42
30 minutes is before you get to rim cycle. It's a good amount of rest. You get up, it does feel like you want to sleep more. But if you get up it does feel like sometimes I'm just like in the middle of the day, Like if I sit down at work for 30 minutes I'm eyes are starting to fall asleep. Really, but you do you take a nap at work? No, I used to. I'd sleep in my car, yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:02
Yeah, my car and sleep. Did you feel good afterwards or did you just like? No, I had to go home.

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:07
No, yeah, I actually think about it. No, none of this made me feel rested, so it was just my point. I was on survival.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:12
Naps piss you off.

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:15
Touche, touche.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:17
But yeah, you asked me this one. We was in high school. Man, you know why don't you like taking naps? They just make me mad because I don't feel like a sleep enough. I mean, what time did I message you last night? Was it two?

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:26
I don't know, two this morning, probably like hey, don't forget your pants and your blabber. Oh, I don't know. I thought you sent that this morning.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:31
No, that was last night at like two thirty and I was up at seven thirty.

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:35
When's the last time you slept longer than seven hours? Oh God years.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:40
Years, years, because I don't know. I just I've never in and if I sleep seven hours I wake up and I'm real groggy like I've slept too much.

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:49
What's? What's like that feeling you get in the morning, is it? What's the first thought you have? Do you have just? Like a sleep in five hours, like just whatever you normally do.

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:57
You first wake up, do you immediately think I got to take my medicine, or how am I going to piss with this?

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:10
I'll tell you your. Last night I had one and I did like a like I was stretching my quad or something and I leaned over the ball and just pushed it straight down into the.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:21
I've done that too.

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:23
Yeah, I think every man has to be honest, otherwise you got some clean up to do. Yeah, which?

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:27
is not funny. That is so funny. Where was we had before? Talking about this, because I'm a lost now.

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:35
During it I was thinking I'm going to bring this up on the podcast tomorrow. I'm glad that that naturally came up. Yeah that's wild.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:43
Where was we at?

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:46
I've got boners on the mind.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:49
Well, well, that's what twist. It's my nips, not the bonus, but the conditioner, okay, well, what's the plan for going into this week? We always talk about what we're gonna kinda work on and then we'll bring it up next week. So what are you gonna try to do?

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:09
I think if we could start formulating a mission statement or a vision board. Maybe all the step this week is is buying a whiteboard. Maybe that's the only thing we need to do this week, and then next week we do a little bit more.

Daniel Lawson
Host
30:21
Do you wanna do a whiteboard or do you wanna do a construction board and like spend time and making cutouts and print off pictures like we did in high school.

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:30
I actually yeah, I mean yeah, a little nostalgia there. I don't mind doing that. A couple chicks on there, yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
30:35
I mean, it's so easy to write a word, but if we can find a picture that describes what we're wanting, we're not really word, guys.

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:41
anyways right, I can't spell word, though. Shit. Maybe we should make a picture book for ourselves that would be a good idea.

Daniel Lawson
Host
30:48
We can get Whitney involved. She's got great handwriting If we have to do the whiteboard and she can spell really good, which would also help us be able. I mean we couldn't read it, but at least it's spelt right.

Jordan Hunter
Host
31:01
And we'll get Kanie to read it back to us. Whitney'll write it out In.

Daniel Lawson
Host
31:05
English and then she can translate in Thailand. What is that form? Native Thai, thai, she can speak to us in Thai.

Jordan Hunter
Host
31:14
Yeah, I think that would be a good first step. I think also with that I'm gonna start this week making sure that I spend every morning I'm gonna do either three or five minutes of meditation every morning. I think that that will let me and try to be mindful of this idea when I do it, to kind of set me into this what do I want to be focused on today? And to kind of keep that in the back of my mind for the rest of the day. Start my day off with a subconsciously thinking about what is my goal? How does this help me achieve my bigger goal of staying focused on my purpose or whatever? And I think that that might help me slow down instead of like getting up out of bed, just going about my day and then, however my day fell is how it falls, right. And then I look back and think, well, I could have, should it on that, different? Well, maybe if I start a little earlier in the day of mindfulness that I can set myself up for better success, more focus.

Daniel Lawson
Host
32:09
Sounds like a good plan. What about?

Jordan Hunter
Host
32:10
you.

Daniel Lawson
Host
32:11
I think what I wanna do is, regardless of if we're behind, you know, with late and being sick, we've been behind filming because kids come first. So instead of trying to jam, pack that in and say you know, instead of saying well, you know, instead of on Sunday, I can't take off, I gotta work, I think I just take off regardless. And you know, the fans and the people just have to understand, like I understand, you wanna be entertained but at the same time, it's like I'm a human, I have a family too and I have a life and you guys have to give me some grace when it comes to that. You know, because we love making you laugh and I love doing it Like it's not. It's not a, it's not hard for me, it just comes natural. It's like I'm a funny guy. At least I think so.

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:02
At least funny to look at.

Daniel Lawson
Host
33:04
But I just want you guys to be graceful with me. You know, if there is a day where a podcast isn't out on a Tuesday or a video isn't up on a Monday, you know, and just be mindful that I'm human, I have a family and so that's what I'm gonna work on. If we're behind, I'm just gonna say fuck it. You know, I'm just gonna.

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:26
I need to take time off, you know, instead of trying to cram all this shit in and then you get overwhelmed and you know, I think long-term that's a great idea, because long-term you have to be healthy, you have to be able to keep balance and if it's too much and you burn yourself out, it's gonna fall apart in the future. So if you want it to be long-term, if you want it to last the rest of your life you wanna build something for the rest of your life you gotta find balance in it and that's totally and anyone who thinks that that's a bad idea kind of like you fuck yourself, kiss our ass. Sorry for the language mom, probably mom's probably listening.

34:00
She's probably hated that part.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:02
But, seriously, I truly love you guys. You guys are what make my world span, you know, on top of my family as well. But just be graceful and be mindful and just understand. I'm a human. I love doing what I do. I love making you guys laugh. I love putting positive content out there, you know. But I need to take care of myself to be able to do that long-term.

Jordan Hunter
Host
34:24
But you love your family too.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:26
Stop stressing. You know, I need to take care of my kids and love my wife, and, well, I like to say, pet my cat and smack my wife, but you know, just be mindful. But truly, at the end of the day, I love you guys, we love you guys, you know, and we love what we're doing here, and this is weekly too now. So, yeah, be expecting another episode. If you guys have anything that you guys would love us to talk about, jordan's got an email for you and send it in. Send us your questions, or if you need advice or if you need help with something, we would love to talk about it. And before we go, tell them that.

Jordan Hunter
Host
35:05
Daniel and Jordan podcast at gmailcom. Send us your questions to get advice. We give you advice. That's what we do, Guys. If you wanna give us advice, sure, oh, I guess we'll read it and we'll try to consider it or whatever. But yeah, so, Daniel, you got a question for us, right? We?

Daniel Lawson
Host
35:22
do have a question before we leave. One just popped. It's not a question, it's a statement, but you won't believe this. It says you all look like you would be twins.

Jordan Hunter
Host
35:34
What.

Daniel Lawson
Host
35:35
What gave that away the beard?

Jordan Hunter
Host
35:38
The lack of beard. I mean Now we'll say I'm gonna start. Look, I have to admit we put some stuff in my mustache and I'm like I have to come clean. I think it's time to come clean. We put a little stuff in the stash and on the sole patch, yeah, we know you've been looking at that entire episode. We know you've been looking at it and I'm trying to decide if I need to just commit fully to it every day.

Daniel Lawson
Host
36:01
I say you do it. I mean they're dude, they're just for men's.

Jordan Hunter
Host
36:05
People will make fun of me for like how long until they get so used to it every day that they stop mentioning it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
36:09
Yeah, throw a little bit of that color in your normal hair.

Jordan Hunter
Host
36:11
Blend it, get rid of that gray. Yeah, just don't do black that looks terrible. Jet black here and the beard, I don't know. You'd look like a rip off a Yellowstone. I'd like to see it before I made my decision.

Daniel Lawson
Host
36:24
I'm sure there's Photoshop. So here's the question. This comes from Queen Love 80. You know this is gonna be a good one. Sounds hot. So in your opinion, how do you shave a monkey's hairy balls?

Jordan Hunter
Host
36:41
Oh, true question from a fan Is it alive or dead? Let's say this one's dead, oh dead, no problem at all. Would you pluck them? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tweezers, no problem at all. No, it's razors first off. I think the only way you're supposed to, but I don't do razor.

Daniel Lawson
Host
36:59
What do you use? I do like a trimmer.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:02
Dangerous game to be played out there.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:04
Yeah, a monkey sack is very tender and sensitive.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:08
Just like you're own you know we're promos.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:12
Is that the right we're?

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:14
primates yeah, primates. We used to be monkeys. I've nipped my balls before. It's not a good feeling. Well, it's seeing the blood drip from it. It's not.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:23
I kind of like that, but the teeth getting the like you know when you're, it's not.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:28
Yeah, that's not the way to do it. What's the safest way to trim some balls? Don't use Nair, you know what?

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:34
Nair is. No, I mean, I know it. So, nair, it just like it burns your hair follicles. Oh, yeah, that cream, can you imagine cream?

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:44
in that Kids don't use there.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:46
Yeah, that may be good protection.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:51
Don't take my word for it. Maybe good protection.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:54
Yeah, so instead of using a condom, cheaper than a vasectomy, nair your balls. But yeah, razor would be great A trimmer.

Jordan Hunter
Host
38:03
The trimmer. I don't, I don't suggest.

Daniel Lawson
Host
38:05
It would be a good test for to test Nair on monkey nuts. To be honest with you, we tested, we test rats, so why not test the Nair on the monkey nut?

Jordan Hunter
Host
38:13
Yeah, maybe that's your purpose, your life purpose, queen.

Daniel Lawson
Host
38:17
Love 80.

Jordan Hunter
Host
38:19
Maybe you should go work in a lab. Tell them you want to. Where's the nearest monkey nuts that I can get a hold of?

Daniel Lawson
Host
38:25
Yep, well, guys, we love you. Don't forget to like this video and if you took something from here today, do us a big favor, send it to somebody. Send this episode If you're over on Apple Podcast, if you're ever on Apple Podcast or Spotify, hit Share episode and send it to someone that you care about or you think could use a little bit of focus throughout the week or last week was what was last week, it was the J1. Judgment Judgment. If you learn anything from these, send it to somebody. Do us a big favor, get the message out there, because, as much as we like to laugh on here, I think we truly have a sole purpose of making a difference in the world and truly mean those meaningful things that we say. It is truth, it's things we struggle with, it's things we're working on and I think the world struggles with it and I think the world needs to work on it.

Jordan Hunter
