Daniel and Jordan

Ever found yourself completely flummoxed by the youth-speak of today? We sure have, and on this week's Daniel and Jordan Show, we're peeling back the layers of teen lingo that's as mystifying as a Rubik's cube. We're giving props to Davey Hoogerwerf for crafting our catchy theme song before diving headfirst into the enigma of 'mewing' and 'riz'. Join us as we navigate the ever-evolving linguistic maze, laugh about the brevity of buzzwords like 'Bussin', and share some personal tales from the editing trenches. Plus, there’s a slice of community spirit with a side of feel-good vibes from Tidball's that'll have you craving your next social outing.

Is it better to be the MVP of your family's sports day or the zen master who lives in the moment? We tackle this debate, swapping tales of family competitiveness with the calming philosophies of mindfulness expert Jon Kabat-Zinn. This week, we're embracing the present with the kind of passion usually reserved for attempting DIY furniture assembly without the instructions. Let's get real about the trials of life, the laughter that comes after, and how rooting ourselves firmly in the 'now' might just be the salve we're all searching for – in our personal lives, societies, and across the globe.

Finally, we're pouring the heart and soul into our conversation, inspired by the wisdom of Dr. Seuss and the tenacity of Steve Jobs. Life is unfolding in a beautiful, chaotic dance, and we're here to remind you to seize it with both hands. Through stories of health, family, and the comedic ballet that is showing love, we're underscoring the magic that happens when you're fully engaged, every single moment. And for those who've ever misread the signals of a suggestive text from your partner, we've got your back—with anecdotes and laughter to help you navigate the marital minefield of miscommunication.

Of the Daniel and Jordan no Longer Podcast, but the Daniel and Jordan jordan no longer podcast, but the daniel and jordan show, the greatest show on the internet, the greatest show you've ever seen and the greatest show that will possibly ever be on this planet good morning jordan, good morning daniel.

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:37
What's going on? Buddy dude, what a beautiful new studio. Huh, we are finally here. You put it all together, put all this, uh, you put a whole brick wall in your house.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:45
Yep, my new tornado shelter is right here. It's right here in this room. All I need to do is just like lock an anchor in, tie myself to it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
00:53
I'm good and we get a couple of guns mounted up here. Yeah, that'd be badass.

Daniel Lawson
Host
00:59
And, by the way, did you hear that when we just started that new song? I love it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:10
The theme song of the daniel and jordan show was written and recorded by our one and only best friend, davey hoogerworth. Davey hoogerworth, thank you so much, dude. This song kicks ass. Uh. He has a new uh single out on spotify with his band called 11th alleyway. He produces it all and writes it all. Uh, go check out his new song, melancholy. It's on spot, spotify and available now.

Daniel Lawson
Host
01:24
Yeah, I'm not going to tell you what may happen in the 11th alleyway, but I probably have a little idea. But yeah, we love the song. It definitely fits our vibe. I think it fits the show vibe. And we love Freshman 15 whenever they were together, and the sound they produced, because it inspired a lot of our music. Yeah so yeah, thank you so much. Y'all go check it out. Mr David Hoogerworth's, am I saying your last name, right, hoogerworth?

Jordan Hunter
Host
01:53
Hoogerworth. I feel like it fits him so well. It fits that song, it fits everything. It fits his face, yeah, it fits his face. It fits, I don't know if it's getting offensive now His mewing. Mewing. Oh, it's a thing. What's a mew?

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:05
Oh God, okay, Are you ready for this? Yeah, I'm ready. So me and Cadence had a full discussion on these new lingo that kids are coming up with. Oh, this is a kid lingo.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:15
Mew.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:15
So this is a new lingo for kids. It's called mewing, mewing, okay.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:20
Yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:21
And for some reason it fits or aligns with Riz.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:25
Okay.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:25
So mewing, is God Like this? It's a motion. Cadence says Is this like so? It's like check out my jawline.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:33
Okay, it's like, like, I'm trying to impress you. What's the girls call it when they have, like the makeup, the contour?

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:46
Is it their mew, part of their me contour? I think so, but I asked her what it meant and she was like it's emotion. I'm like an emotion or emotion. She was like, well, it's, it's riz. Okay, well, what's riz? Riz is mewing. These kids say all this stuff but they have no idea what it means.

Jordan Hunter
Host
02:56
Confirm that kids don't know what they're talking about we have.

Daniel Lawson
Host
02:59
Honestly, I thought there was hope for the next generation. I'm convinced at this point we're fucked. I'm just going to be honest.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:09
That's your kids, buddy.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:11
I mean me and Cadence literally had a full grown full full discussion in the car on the way home from basketball Clueless, using these big words.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:20
That is odd. The children create new words. I guess it's like our words just don't do the job.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:25
Huh, I guess not, and Bussin is no longer in. She informed me that last night I was writing out a comment. I was like Eli, because we reenacted the Riz video, and she was like watching me type in a comment and I was like, oh yeah, Eli's got that Bussin Riz, she's like Dad, Bustin's no longer used anymore. It's not cool. I'm like, okay, well, Riz will be out in two months anyway, so you're technically not cool.

Jordan Hunter
Host
03:49
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. It's hard to keep up with them now. Eventually someday you just tap out, right. Jeez, I guess so.

Daniel Lawson
Host
03:59
How many trends have I missed not having kids?

Jordan Hunter
Host
04:00
at this point I'm still in the same trend as I was in high school, although I'm wearing.

Daniel Lawson
Host
04:03
Air Force Ones that are just not me at all.

Jordan Hunter
Host
04:07
I got this painting shirt yesterday my. Uncle Claude, uncle Claude, I think it's my mom's, one of my mom's favorite artists, but I don't actually know any other things and I felt like a tool wearing it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
04:18
So he's a painter or an artist, I guess I don't know if it's he or she. I couldn't even tell you that, claude Monet, yeah, that's kind of a manly first name but a womanly last name. Who knows? Who knows what if she flipped it? Monet Claude yeah, that's pretty cool. Yeah, it could be Monet Claude, but she named herself Claude to trick everybody. Yeah, it could be that it could be uh, but anyways, man, um weekly updates, weekly update how's your week been? Oh, let's see here, because we've had some time off.

Jordan Hunter
Host
04:52
we have had some time off and although we editing still hasn't felt like it slowed down much, but, uh, you know, I've been spending a lot of time with shorts. So, uh, yeah, I've been spending a lot of time editing and I went to tidballs again this week and I went to see some shows. That was nice seeing people and there's a small crowd out there, so it gave me a little hope that maybe, maybe people are really wanting to get back together again and have fun and listen to music.

Daniel Lawson
Host
05:16
Those of you that are listening from out of state or Tidballs is not a strip joint. It is strictly a it's like a little bar, slash music venue, little hangout.

Jordan Hunter
Host
05:27
You probably saw. You saw our episode with Tony that was filmed inside Tidballs. It's a local, yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
05:33
Brewery, I guess.

Jordan Hunter
Host
05:34
Not really a brewery. They don't brew.

Daniel Lawson
Host
05:36
It's just a bar. Yeah, they just pour. They're a pourery.

Jordan Hunter
Host
05:38
Yeah, but yeah, so we went and that and uh, that was pretty fun and then uh, you know I noticed, dude I, I'm back to biting my nails. I quit for like a year or two. Man cany one time complained to me when I was biting my nails driving that was you know, the sound was annoying her and so, uh, I quit. And she was shocked that I actually had the discipline to stop biting my nails because, yeah, I did it for years, like years, I bought my biting my nails and you're back at it.

06:05
Yeah, I did it for years. Like years. I bit my nails and I realized it was gross, so I stopped and I don't know, like the past couple months, I just haven't been conscious of it and just started biting them again.

Daniel Lawson
Host
06:15
Well, I mean, you're building your immune system, if you think about it. A little dirt, a little grime, maybe a little shit up under there, I'd rather not be thinking about that part of it, but yeah, but yeah, you could actually be benefiting yourself by biting your nails.

Jordan Hunter
Host
06:29
Yeah, I could quit biting my nails and start eating my shit too.

Daniel Lawson
Host
06:31
That'd be a good way to That'd be a real boost to the whole metabolism. Well, cool. So why are you back to biting your nails? I don't know.

Jordan Hunter
Host
06:38
What do you think? Am I just being more nervous?

Daniel Lawson
Host
06:40
Could be nerves, Could be a little anxiety. I mean it has to be nerves.

Jordan Hunter
Host
06:42
It has to be anxiety and nerves, but I think it's just also just not being conscious of it. I used to like when I'd go for it, I'd be like just a habit, not doing it yeah, a habit that I, you know and then I'd start chewing on the sides. Yeah, used to bite her nails all the time, and she ended up getting warts on her finger.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:06
I used to have warts maybe, oh, not genital warts. I said genital warts on my fingers uh, but you used to have warts on your fingers.

Jordan Hunter
Host
07:12
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah you know, at one time, uh, I had a wart when I first met caney and I used to scratch it when it was right here on the side of my finger, and I used to scratch it and, uh, did it bleed? Oh, no, no, I didn't bleed, but I, you know it was like a habit just just scratching it and and kane saw it, and then she just told me not to worry about it and this is when we first met and it magically disappeared a couple months after meeting kane, interesting, and it never came back and I kind of think she was putting something in my shampoo or something to make it go away. Those little time land tricks I really do, dude.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:46
I think so. She's drugged you before with the little kidney stones.

Jordan Hunter
Host
07:51
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean she's saving my life without me knowing. I think if she told me I'd probably be resistant.

Daniel Lawson
Host
07:57
So crazy story. My sister had the warts on her fingers, I think from biting her nails or something. So we were at a funeral and one of my grandmother's cousins was there. He was not the dead one in the casket, he was. He was there really alive. And uh, he was like, oh, you got some warts on your fingers, let me see. So he looked at her fingers and he was like, uh, we're going to go in this closet, in this room where it's real quiet. And he broke a piece of a. He asked the funeral people if they had a broom like, a broom with like the hay like a real broom, like grass broom.

Jordan Hunter
Host
08:35
I know what you're talking about.

Daniel Lawson
Host
08:36
Yeah, Like a witch's broom. Yeah, a witch's broom, found a broom with that stuff. The bristles, the bristles, yeah, but not the nylon.

Jordan Hunter
Host
08:44
Like the real hay bristles.

Daniel Lawson
Host
08:46
The real grass. I don't know how they fucking make brooms. It was a witch's broom so we broke it off, took her in there. Don't know what he did, don't know what he said. She will never say to this day. He said she didn't say what he did.

Jordan Hunter
Host
09:02
No, I hope he didn't.

Daniel Lawson
Host
09:13
And so he, he mumbled something like she couldn't really understand it, but he mumbled something like a spell, yeah, like a spell. And dude they was. Now we've taken her to the doctor. She's been on medicine. She tried to freeze them, she tried everything. It took them completely away within a month what they was gone.

Jordan Hunter
Host
09:25
What do you mean? She won't tell you, so you have no idea what happened behind that door in the closet.

Daniel Lawson
Host
09:29
He mumbled something like your uncle. It was like my grandmother's like fifth cousin or or something like that I have, I don't know.

Jordan Hunter
Host
09:40
And the warts went away forever.

Daniel Lawson
Host
09:42
The warts went away forever. True story, by the way.

Jordan Hunter
Host
09:45
I feel like this doesn't help us at all to know. I need to talk to Chelsea about that, yeah true story.

Daniel Lawson
Host
09:51
It really happened and her warts have been gone thus far. And I've also heard Whitney had somebody that did some kind of wart witchcraft. It's a thing, some wart witchcraft, where they gave her a penny or something and they told her to go hide the penny and she they hit, they hide the penny and it goes away and you don't bury, you don't find the penny ever again, you just bury the penny and leave it and your warts go away. Okay, I don't know if that works on genital warts or anything like that, but it works for the finger so you rub the penny on the area, the infected area.

Jordan Hunter
Host
10:25
Oh, I'm not a witch. I feel like we need another person here to tell us what's going on, because I feel like hey, if any of y'all listening know how to do the penny wart removal, call our hotline. That has to be witchcraft or something.

Daniel Lawson
Host
10:39
I mean maybe that's, that's.

Jordan Hunter
Host
10:41
That doesn't make any sense, daniel.

Daniel Lawson
Host
10:42
I'll be honest with you.

Jordan Hunter
Host
10:43
I don't know if I believe you. I don't know what to do. I feel like you're just saying I'm not making this shit up.

Daniel Lawson
Host
10:49
How can I make this like just make up a random witchcraft wart story?

Jordan Hunter
Host
10:53
yeah well you're not giving really any details, so it seems like it's pretty easy to only I know the truth.

Daniel Lawson
Host
11:00
Well, cool man. Anything else, throughout the week I've relaxed a lot.

Jordan Hunter
Host
11:02
Bucky hadn't gotten nailed Cool man, anything else throughout the week? Anything exciting?

Daniel Lawson
Host
11:04
No, I've just been relaxed a lot this week, bucky hadn't gotten.

Jordan Hunter
Host
11:07
No, he's been pretty Nailed. No, not with me around at least. Yeah, he's been pretty relaxed. I guess Kenny's been stressed out with finals week, so we've all been stressed out for that reason alone, we've been eating out like monsters this week though. Yeah, we had and had brunch yesterday and then. I brought Taco Bell home later that night. Yummy, yummy yeah yeah, yeah, what about you?

Daniel Lawson
Host
11:31
How's your week? This week's been good, productive, like stuff around the house, finally finishing up some stuff, finally finishing up the awning out back. Pretty much 99% done in here in the studio. You know Cadence is still doing the basketball. We have practice Saturday and Sunday. This week Softball game still going on.

Jordan Hunter
Host
11:56
She's an athlete.

Daniel Lawson
Host
11:57
Yeah, and on it surprisingly like the handling's getting like Rob's good. He's really good, like when he's showing her. I'm like dang, like he's sharp, smooth, tight.

Jordan Hunter
Host
12:11
You think she can take you in basketball If she keeps this up? You don't think she can right now. You think you can beat her in a game of yeah, I'll fuck her up.

Daniel Lawson
Host
12:22
Like daddy's got it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
12:23
Yeah. Big daddy hurt, I just my dad and I would just talk shit, get that shit out of here dad would just back me down, and then when he came around, he throw that elbow right into my ribs.

Daniel Lawson
Host
12:36
Take that breath away, move you out a little yeah, yeah, dang um, but yeah, dude, it's, you know, nothing crazy has happened this week, um a lot of projects being finished, which is good.

Jordan Hunter
Host
12:49
Yeah and uh, yeah that's it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
12:52
That's it. Uh, just getting furniture in for the table, got my chairs in, put four of them, bitches, together yesterday. Um, after the first one I was a pro, yeah, so it kind of went by quick. But I start to put the the little screws in there and the washers over the screw, and I built it all the way and had to deassemble it because I put the wrong size washers on the bottom. So have you ever done that? Build something and you have to like take it all apart?

13:19
because you're like fuck these instructions, I don't need them.

Jordan Hunter
Host
13:22
a majority of the time I have is like that yeah, yeah, yeah At work, yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
13:27
I did test them. I sat in them, so we're good Cool.

Jordan Hunter
Host
13:30
Yeah, it looks fun. I can't wait for us to do it they hold my fat ass. So I think they're good, I can't wait for us to do an episode with a guest using almost stuff like that. It'll be cool.

Daniel Lawson
Host
13:39
Well, now, guess what time it is. You guys heard about the new show, you've guys seen the new room, but you know what we're missing? Today's Word of the Week, and it's brought to you by the greatest looking one of us both. My man, my legend, my best friend, mr Jordan Hunter.

Jordan Hunter
Host
13:58
Thank you, daniel, you're a legend.

Daniel Lawson
Host
13:59
Yeah, okay, you're like a reading legend.

Jordan Hunter
Host
14:09
This week, the Word of the week is and it's not really a word, but being present. Those are two words.

14:12
Yeah, I know, damn it, dude, I've been thinking this out the whole time and I couldn't. I was going to do the present moment and that was three words, so I at least cut it down to two. Awesome. This week I listened to a podcast, rick Rubin's podcast, uh, and he had a guy on named John Kabat-Zinn and he wrote a book 30 ish odd years ago about meditation and um, it was. It did really well, it's pretty successful, and it comes from this Buddhist idea that, uh, life is suffering, right, and he talked about on the podcast he talks about.

14:44
People think of that as like, maybe like a pessimistic viewpoint, like a negative, like life is suffering, right, it's not any good because of that. And he's talking about it's not because death is inevitable, right, no matter, we're going to die, people we love are going to die. That makes life suffering. And because of that, the next step to look at is well, what is life? What is the meaning of it? And you come to the conclusion that the present moment is what we have.

15:14
The future is not guaranteed, the past is already over with. The present is happening now. And to take time and be present and to appreciate what is happening now, it's easy to live a lifetime and then wake, like killing the planet and the way we were doing things, that mindfulness and being aware could be the solution to things, of us all kind of waking up and seeing what was going on, being grateful and and taking a moment to live and to be aware yeah, and just being mindful and setting our intentions on what do we want the world to be like, instead of just living our lives out. And then the consequences happen because we weren't thinking about the consequences and so trying to be more present. And I listened to his book, his audio books, on Spotify. It's called Wherever you Go, there you Are.

Daniel Lawson
Host
16:21
Sounds like a.

Jordan Hunter
Host
16:23
Dr Seuss book. That's my life.

Daniel Lawson
Host
16:28
Philosophy is based off of, basically, dr Seuss.

Jordan Hunter
Host
16:35
Red fish, blue fish, one fish, two fish. It's easy reading, it rhymes and it's colorful, but, but it has allowed me to just like even the mundaneness of being at work, where you constantly are always just like. I want to just like get to the end of the day so you check out, yeah, but instead just trying to be in that moment and to look around and realize that life is happening right now. Life isn't happening when you get off work. Right now it's happening and you can find appreciation in that and find comfort in that. And because that moment's happening, there's opportunity. That means the opportunity is right now, always. The opportunity is not going to be in a year when you finally get to that place you want to be at. You can have that opportunity right now in your life.

Daniel Lawson
Host
17:14
Yeah, I think you touched on a lot of important stuff. One is obviously being present because that is today's word of the week, but Steve Jobs was a true speaker of that, I feel like, because I forget what he had some kind of like he died, of course.

17:32
Disease yeah, he had like a cancer or sickness or something I don't know what he had Right. But at the end, like when it was his time to go, he said he wished he would have enjoyed the moment more instead of just like so focused within his work, you know, and stuff like that, and just life flew by so fast to where you know you're dying. It's like, man, I wish I would have stopped and smelled the roses a little bit, yeah, because life was always happening.

Jordan Hunter
Host
17:58
It wasn't there, wasn't. You're waiting for something? Yeah, but it's all. It's here. Yeah, the moment is here.

Daniel Lawson
Host
18:05
And then you touched on having those moments and recognizing those moments, to utilizing that and presenting opportunities like opportunities come up. Opportunities for what? Opportunities for so many things. You know we're taking an opportunity now right, to speak a message to the world or to put some positivity in the air, put some funny laughs on social media, but also put really good words and messages inside of these people listening. You know what I mean. Like, this is our opportunity now, not when we blow up and get huge. You know and I thought of that for a long time as far as the awesome lawson's go like, let's make some funny videos, because I don't want my daughter looking at stupid stuff I mean what I do is pretty stupid, but it's funny.

18:54
Right, it's clean, it's family friendly, but I don't want to like, not here yeah, no, not here.

Jordan Hunter
Host
19:00
We're not talking about here. Just to clarify. We'll get into the ball smell again later.

Daniel Lawson
Host
19:05
But those are moments you don't wait. Do it now, build it now, just like the whole field of dreams. Build it and they will come. Chase your dreams. Be present in the moment, take advantage of the opportunities. But there's no perfect place to start than right now. It's the only time.

Jordan Hunter
Host
19:28
The only time we have is right now, yeah, and, and that it does affect the future, but that it's all you have to do. Yeah, I think that I think the opportunity piece is like this weird thing where, like I think at first, when I think about like life is being suffering, a lot of people feel really kind of like depressed, like, oh, we're headed to our imminent doom, and that's how I felt the past couple of weeks. I had that feeling a lot. You feel like you're going to die soon. My fingers are crossed, but no, I don't think I'm going to die soon. Well, I don't know.

19:59
Actually, I've had a really bad day. I feel like I'm losing weight. I'm like 145 right now, which is good.

Daniel Lawson
Host
20:06
I mean, you're healthy, though You're not drinking, you're not? Well, you ate shit last week, but I'm saying like but you're being busy, You're being productive. I mean, it's not like you don't look like leukemic or anything.

Jordan Hunter
Host
20:17
If that's even a word, I'm headed there.

20:19
You're headed, we, but yeah, the present moment and opportunity, well, okay, so that's life. Sacrificing is, you know, it's kind of depressing. And then I think, once you get past that, it's life isn't depressing, life is the opportunity. It's kind of depressing if you think that you never got the opportunity to live, cause then there's nothing, that's just nothingness, and this is like a gift we're given and that we can make the best of it. And if you accept that life is suffering, now what, and now what, it's like, oh, I could do anything, I could turn this into anything I want, really. And wow, look at all these things I have. It's pretty incredible that I have this much. It's incredible that I have a body, that I have a brain that's so complex that people haven't figured out how it works yet, even though we know all this stuff. And it's felt very powerful and it's brought my mind into just appreciating the mundane, appreciating the just life happening. I'm just repeating myself at this point Life's not easy, mundane, but appreciating the just life happening.

21:26
Yeah, I'm just repeating myself at this point, but yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
21:28
Life's not easy. I was telling mom this yesterday, like, and we've talked about it all the time but all these words that we come up with, the words of the week, like it's so, it's so weird that it rolls into, like today's was being present, being present for your purpose, understanding, gratitude, like it all just flows.

21:43
It's like a big wave was being present, being present for your purpose, understanding gratitude. It all just flows. It's like a big wave. It's so weird how it all just. It's like little starlight links and they're just all linking up. You know what I mean.

Jordan Hunter
Host
21:55
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel like that too, as like all these words of the week. It's like the more we've talked about them and I've never made the connections really before, but now I've never made the connections really before but now I've started to connect how all of these things work together to this in the same machine and the same system, and I think that's kind of like when you think about like mastery, what they say happens is like at first you start to learn how the inner workings of different things are and then, further you zoom out, you realize how they all work inside this machine, this whole big picture, how they all interact with each other, and I think that's kind of where I'm getting at. Is is more of just like a learning, how vulnerability opens you up to learning.

Daniel Lawson
Host
22:32
I think that's the base. The base thing is being vulnerable, yeah, you know, like that's the start of the whole thing, yeah, and then everything else just flows in.

Jordan Hunter
Host
22:41
It's such a huge block when you're not being vulnerable Like you. It's just like a mental block that you can't get further beyond because you have. It's like that you've drawn a line that you can't cross and once the vulnerability happens, you're out running free. Almost You're not thinking about dumb stuff.

Daniel Lawson
Host
22:59
Yeah, and mom was telling me she's like we were talking about growth and stuff yesterday and she was like, even you, like you've impressed me with the way like you're speaking now it's like, but a lot of that stems from me here becoming more vulnerable. You know what I mean and you know my other podcasts being more vulnerable to situations or words or just opening up more about things. It's so weird how, when you kind of knock down that wall, it's like, it's so, like it's fresh, it's like a fresh breath of air. And Noah was telling me I had Noah Peters on my podcast. I totally forgot to mention that, but went to Nashville. I had a great time with Noah. He was on season 22, the most recent season of American Idol. Great guy, he's got a good head on his shoulders.

The singing barber Killer voice.

Daniel Lawson
Host
23:49
I know his name right, the singing barber Killer voice and voice and um, but anyways, he thinks a lot like we do, like our drive train and his, would you know, coincide. But he was telling me a story that he knew this guy who was a billionaire whenever he was, uh, younger. His family it was like a family friend, billionaire had private jets, boats, all this cool stuff, but he became so happy. He was miserable. He becomes so happy at the end when he gave it all away yeah, gave all that stuff away. And he said when he's like, when I say he gave it all away, he gave it all away. What's cool is Noah's like I'm not telling you to give all your stuff away, but what you have, what we have here, just like we've talked about before we filmed the last episode. We're giving this information away and hoping that the universe keeps perfect score to kind of pay us back.

Jordan Hunter
Host
24:47
We're taking the opportunity here we're giving and we're not asking for anything back.

Daniel Lawson
Host
24:54
Exactly. But we're taking advantage of the opportunity. We're taking advantage of what's the word of the week, the moment, the moment, the present moment, the present moment, and we're utilizing that to the good you know, hoping that you beautiful people get something out of it.

Jordan Hunter
Host
25:10
Because we are.

Daniel Lawson
Host
25:10
We're growing every day. We're growing every.

Jordan Hunter
Host
25:13
Sunday and as other people grow, we all grow and then they all. It's all beneficial to all of us. It's not beneficial for just us to grow and then everyone else doesn't. I had this discussion with some of my band mates and he brought up he had a drug trip one time and he said that God told him and like winked at him and it was like this understanding that Was it a cute wink?

Daniel Lawson
Host
25:33
I would be asking questions.

Jordan Hunter
Host
25:34
It was probably a third eye wink that the world is all on consumption right and that the world all works on consumption.

25:43
As soon as you stop consuming, you are a problem in the system and that kicks you out and you just basically get kicked out of the system of life. And I was thinking on that more and I was thinking like, yeah, kind of. But at the same time I think that's just kind of the world that we've built and I don't think that that gives you longevity. It just gives you an up on other people. But eventually your downfall comes as you get consumed by the system that's consuming and I think that's not how we need to think about the world. The world isn't about consuming as much as you can. It's more about giving and not asking anything back, as everyone gives and asks for nothing back. We all are actually gaining from that through that attitude and that longevity to save the earth. All these things can fall into that mindset than this idea of constant consumption and constant trying to get to the next level for your own gain.

Daniel Lawson
Host
26:36
Another person who's a perfect example of that is Eric Thomas, who's the big motivational speaker. He's kind of a taller guy. He's got like a— Tony Robbins, tony Robbins. So back when, tony Robbins and there was another guy that were heavy in the game well, they would do their speech in front of people that paid for the venue, but you had to buy their DVD or buy their cassette back in the game. Well, they would do their speech in front of people that paid for the venue, but you had to buy their DVD or buy their cassette back in the day and it would take a week to get to your house. They were having these people pay for it. Eric Thomas was uploading every day on Sunday for free for the world, and that took him to the next level. He was giving. They're like ET. What are you doing? Why are you giving out this free information Like people would pay billions for this. It just returned to him tenfold.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:25
Yeah.

Daniel Lawson
Host
27:25
I mean he's taking advantage of the opportunity. He's like I'm not going to force these people to pay. Then he's thinking before even YouTube, like was it staying now and pump this in or pump this stuff out? Gave him a video a day and just received it all back tenfold.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:40
And I think that comes back to intention, which we've talked in the past. And this is it's funny because we had that intention episode and then, like after the episode, I was thinking do I even really understand intention? Tony seemed like he understood it way better than I did.

Daniel Lawson
Host
27:52
I was lost.

Jordan Hunter
Host
27:53
And then and so I've given it a lot more thought and it seems like when you intend and you make everything with the intention of giving and you're not asking for anything back, you're giving people something that they're not used to. People aren't used to giving something and there's not a deal, Right, you know like?

Daniel Lawson
Host
28:12
Yeah, you show up to someone's house with a dinner and you're like, hey, I made this full course meal, just want you to thank you, just thank you. Yeah, eat good tonight. They're going to be like I ain't touching that shit you about to poison me yeah, yeah, you know they're always saying something different.

Jordan Hunter
Host
28:24
You know, yeah, gas stations aren't, or not, sorry, grocery stores they're asking for something in return deep down, and we're used to that feeling, especially because of how business oriented everything is, and I think that once you set this intention of giving things, not asking for anything in return, but for the everyone's benefit this is for you to benefit, not for me to benefit. I really do think that there's there's something there, and if it doesn't ever come back in some financial way or something like that, that's not the point. The point is that you're giving people to help them benefit and because of that, they will naturally want you to benefit. And really there is something there that's like anti of how the world works right now that people all connect with.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:12
Yeah, I agree.

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:13
Someone willing to sacrifice or give something up themselves so that you can benefit. There's something there, yeah, and it is God, maybe, maybe it's Buddha.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:23
Maybe it's me, maybe it's Jay, but let me just sum this up for you real quick Get off your ass and take advantage of the moment. Whatever it is, give it away. Give it away for free. Give all your shit away.

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:35
Have nothing go spend some time with your spouse, goes, goes, listen to them talk about their day. That's one thing that I've realized is like I get a little caught up and I'm so used to being around caney sometimes I don't I'm not consciously there with her.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:48
I could say the same for whitney, for sure.

Jordan Hunter
Host
29:49
And you get, and everyone gets like that, especially after being together for so long exactly, and you're living with each other and you're sleeping with each other.

Daniel Lawson
Host
29:57
But the second they're gone. We're very well aware that they're not there. Yeah, isn't that weird?

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:02
Yeah, it's like a part of you, it's like a soul maintain.

Daniel Lawson
Host
30:05
Yeah, for sure.

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:07
And so I've tried and I'm still not great at it, but I've been trying. This week. It's like because I'm trying to be more present and sometimes, like when I come back to my conscience, I just try to to just be. That's what I try to tell myself to just be. And just being is not thinking, it's just being here in the present moment. And if I'm here in the present moment, then I'm conscious of, like, well, what matters to me, what's my priorities? And my priorities are well, I want Katie to be happy and her to know that she's thought about and loved, and in those moments, to take that time, set my intentions of showing her love and to go listen to her for a little and it doesn't have to be super long, because I know I have things to do too but go in and listen to her, and that goes to everything. You set your intentions once you're conscious and in the moment.

Daniel Lawson
Host
30:54
Yeah, I love it. Well said Jay.

Jordan Hunter
Host
30:57
Well said, thank you. Well, you know, that's not all my words. This is a lot of people. Is that anything from your dead dad? No, no, no. Dad didn't teach me shit, I'm just kidding. Yeah, I think, um, I recommend uh, meditation once again. Dude, I've been doing it more and during my day I just come conscious every once in a while I just say be, just be, just be happy and be here.

Daniel Lawson
Host
31:19
Well, that brings me to something. I'm glad you said that. I mean, it's something that pisses you off. It is something that just twists my toes, pulls my tail and cranks down on my knob.

Jordan Hunter
Host
31:32
Or in other words, we like to say or in other words, we like to say what twists our nips, what twists your nips, Daniel?

Daniel Lawson
Host
31:40
You got to talking about Caney and it just popped in my head and it's not Caney, Okay, that's what I was thinking it's my wife Whitney, and I'm not talking twisting my nips in a good way. Okay, what I'm talking about. Did you ever get that text?

Jordan Hunter
Host
32:00

Jordan Hunter
Host
32:12

Daniel Lawson
Host
32:15
Oh, tonight's your lucky night. I'm about to twist your nips.

Jordan Hunter

Daniel Lawson

32:20

Jordan Hunter
Host
32:24
She made a promise she couldn't keep All the time.

Daniel Lawson
Host
32:28
All the time. It never fails, man, she texts me, she gets me in the mood. You're riled up, I'm riled up. I come home with a two by four between my legs With a house built. Yeah, I got a brick house down there, you know.

Jordan Hunter
Host
32:50
Come home just to get let down. A tornado comes through, you know. Get ready to go to bed.

Daniel Lawson
Host
32:55
I'm like, hey, you ready to twist those nips in a good way?

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:00
I'm tired. You know what katie's phrase is always ate too much she ain't ate all day. I ain't way too much, honey, I'm sorry uh, no, it's not even a full sentence anymore, it's just ate too much. She says it every time ate too much, sorry.

Daniel Lawson
Host
33:16
She says it every time Ate too much, sorry. Has anybody, has that ever happened to you? You get that text. Does Katie ever text you like?

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:21
tonight you'll be looking at me, it's happened every once in a while, but I don't now. I don't take it for yeah, now women don't. It's like when it happens to us and you awaken that animal, that animal doesn't just go away.

Daniel Lawson
Host
33:33
He does not go away, you got to do something.

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:35
You got to slay the demon. You got to tame him, kick him out, yeah, yeah. You got to slay the demon, you got to round his ass up.

Daniel Lawson
Host
33:42
You ever see them. Bull riders jump off them little cows and they get to cows and they just tie their legs, and you know what I mean. That's what you got to do with me Tie me up, throw away the key, literally and figuratively.

Jordan Hunter
Host
33:54
Yeah, tie Daniel up. Yeah, exercising, twist them nips. You know, exercism, yeah, no.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:05
You know, it just doesn't happen, doesn't?

Jordan Hunter
Host
34:07
happen.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:08
Yeah, yeah, it's so weird. It's like she looks at a picture or she hears me play a guitar or whatever. She smells my cologne on my pillow during the day when I'm gone or doing something or even working, and she'll be like hey.

Jordan Hunter
Host
34:22
God, y'all are animals and they'll go and I'll be like oh yeah, tonight's going to be nice.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:27
Well, when I'm like, hey, honey, remember that text, she's like yeah, but that was earlier.

Jordan Hunter
Host
34:33
I'm like hello, come get me. I'm always like, just come watch me, at least Something. Can you look my way? Can you just, like I don't know, touch my shoulder? If you could just at least, like a lizard, just give me one eye at least of your attention. I dated a girl like that one time.

Daniel Lawson
Host
34:51
But it wasn't like cute at all. Yeah, it did the opposite actually. But yeah, man, that just twists my nips.

Jordan Hunter
Host
34:58
And women. You know it's a message to you. Don't poke the bear, yeah, don't wake it up.

Daniel Lawson
Host
35:05
Don't wake a sleeping baby Unless you plan to Listen. Don't be walking around like an arsonist and starting a fire that you can't put out.

Jordan Hunter
Host
35:14
Don't awaken a crying baby unless you plan to nurse it.

Daniel Lawson
Host
35:18
Yeah, what do you think About? What About my nips being twists?

Jordan Hunter
Host
35:26
this week Are you asking me to fulfill her duties. I'll take what I can get at this point. Yeah, buddy, I'll twist your nips a little after.

Daniel Lawson
Host
35:43
Well, uh, I think this was a pretty, pretty good episode. I love the message of the word of the week being present in the moment. Uh, definitely something I need to work on, um, you know, and that's being present with anything the relationship, the kids, uh, your friendships, your work and be present. Show you give a shit, you're there for a reason. Maybe. Try to work your way up. Don't just be content with being comfortable, like go in, show out, be present. Understand that if you don't like the job, do something about it. Yeah, you know, leave and find something you like. Don't continue to be miserable every day. Find something you love and then chase your dreams.

Jordan Hunter
Host
36:21
That's what I got to say about it and I think, just to keep in mind throughout the week of being present and when it comes to your mind, take a second to stop and to think about what it means to be present. Stop and to think about what it means to be present, and I think the more you do that, the more you'll become mindful, and the more mindful you become, the more that you will have in mind of what your goals are, that you want to achieve, and that you'll be working towards what you, what means something to you and, uh, that's it. Just keeping it in your mind to be present as soon as it comes up, take a second to think about that and appreciate it, and the more often that happens, the more conscious you become and the more you can push your life in a direction that you want it to go in.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:03
Yeah, Well said, my friend. Hey, if you enjoyed this episode, send it to somebody. We would greatly appreciate that. Text it to them, send it to them, post it on your social something, but just let them know that you know what you got out of it. Maybe they can get out of it. But mostly important, be a little bit more vulnerable with us guys, because we have a number that they can call.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:24
Yep, and I'll put it up here on the screen somewhere. Also, dan had commented on our YouTube about Enneagram and Myers something test. We will get to that and I will try to get it on the next episode.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:37
What is it?

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:38
I don't know, but I'll have to figure it out, Don't Daniel? Come on, I don't know. It's just some words I don't know. I just learned how to pronounce them just now.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:45
All right, come on Dan.

Jordan Hunter
Host
37:48
But we will address that. Thank you for the comment and yeah, and leave the advice.

Daniel Lawson
Host
37:55
You don't have to leave your name, just leave a message, whether it's something funny you want us to try to work through, if it's a real problem you're having. Or like, hey, what would Daniel and Jordan do. I mean you could be like what would Jesus do? But I think it'd be cooler if you thought what would Daniel and Jordan do? It would be a lot cooler than Jesus. I mean I talk to Jesus. I'm not saying I don't talk to Jesus, but there's just some things where I'm like hey, what would Daniel and Jordan do?

Jordan Hunter
Host
38:23
I haven't talked to Jesus in a while.

Daniel Lawson
Host
38:26
You know your objective for the week. My agnostic, my diagnostic friend, you All right, guys. Hopefully you enjoyed the episode, hopefully you enjoyed the new look and hopefully you enjoyed the little skit we did right before the episode. But just remember until next time, I'm Daniel and I'm Jordan and we're Daniel and Jordan. We'll see you next time Later-o. Be present, fuckers.
