Hello, today we're going to be talking about podcasting 101 for dentists. We're going to go over harnessing the power of podcasting to propel your holistic dental practice. This is an essential episode, actually. It delves into the transformative world of podcasting, specifically tailored for holistic dentists and specifically tailored to your practice and your local area. And using local podcasting isn't just about creating another podcast and posting it on iTunes or Apple Music, amazon, wherever you decide to post it. It's more about a strategic tool to actually attract patients directly into your practice who are already educated and already understand holistic dentistry to some degree and are reaching for it and are demanding what you're able to do for them. And this is a different type of dental patient than most dentists I've worked with are used to having. There's usually a leaning towards having a lot of patients who come in and they don't really know what holistic dentistry is. They're at least not completely enough to be wanting all the services that they are available to them. So today we're going to go over just how, in short, to build a podcast and how important it is and why it's important. So, first of all, it's important to build the no-like and trust factor for a holistic dentist, for a conventional dentist and someone who's just interested in doing what's normally accepted as dentistry. You don't need to worry about that so much, because, even though there's sometimes a fear of going into the dentist and sometimes people balk at the price and cost, it's still known that it is something you must do. However, using ozone or the need for getting rid of silver amalgam fillings, nasal passage interference with health and development of the palate and all these other things that are part of holistic dentistry, of which I am not an expert, just familiar with by working with biological dentists in marketing and my own experience and having run a small holistic nutritional wellness center in upstate New York where we sent patients of ours to holistic dentists to get things like root canals handled, infections, cavitations, all these types of things handled, and we had to send them three hours away, which isn't the way it should be, of course. So if there were more holistic dentists out there with podcasts, then the demand would be there and there would be more holistic dentists around. At least that's my theory.

So because back to my point, holistic dentists services are not as well known, you have to build up a no-like and trust factor so people are interested in them, they know about them, they know about you, they like you, they like the services and they trust you and they trust the services. Most people think of no-like and trust as just the person behind it, but it's also the service or product that you're delivering to that person. They have to know, like and trust that as well, and that's often missed and that can be covered very easily with podcasting. You can get both of those in there, and then you can also drive patient engagement with podcasts. Now, this wasn't always true, but with the way social media integrates with podcasting and even some of the platforms having different chat features available, you can actually get responses right there or send your potential patient to a web form or a page that allows them to engage with you directly. Now there's also AI, of course we've probably heard of this and this is very much in use in the podcasting world and allows you to really create a podcast without too much muts or fuss. We're able to just go in, upload your information, your audio, and it will do the rest pretty much. The one that I like the most is called buzz sprout. To go to buzz sprout comm, you can actually sign up for it. It's fairly cheap I 20 or 30 bucks and then you go in. It can just start podcasting. You have to have a way of recording and Then you upload your audio and Bob's your uncle You're all set Now.

The other thing that's amazing about podcasting is that it really helps with online reputation management. So it used to be you just get Google reviews and, hopefully, people leave reviews on your Facebook page and or you hire a service to get a bunch of these and then everybody think you're, you're the best, right. That doesn't hold true anymore. As the world evolves, people perception of what is valid in making something Valid is always changing, and now they want to hear from the person directly. They want to see you in a video. They want to see you on social media. They just won't, don't want to read somebody else's review. Yes, that's helpful. You definitely should be a part of it. We can also get reviews for your podcast, which then gives you Credit credibility as a person, because you're talking on the podcast and it gives you a practice in your service. Credibility, because it's a review about you and what you do, right. So podcasting can tick a lot of boxes, right, and so it should be integrated with traditional or more traditional marketing techniques like search engine optimization, website building, regular social media and Reviews online. These can all be integrated in podcasting and the podcasting makes them work better Basically, especially if you target an area with a podcast.

Most people think podcasts like it's going out to the whole world. That's true, and if that's your game, then you can definitely do that. But you can also saturate an area which, if you're using it for your practice, at least to start with, then that's the, that's the ticket, that's what you want to be doing. And then, of course, you're going to want to leverage paid marketing. Podcasts offer paid marketing, just like any other platform out there, like Facebook or Google, instagram, etc. But what's really good is when you take a podcast and you market it on one of these other Better known platforms in your arena. So if there's a page, a Facebook page, that has a large following Regarding dentistry and whatnot, and those are your clients in your area or it's your own page or whatever, then you could put it add for your podcast, or put a particular episode you want people to listen to on your Facebook page that gets a lot of views, or boost it so it does get a lot of views, or run a whole campaign.

There's a lot of different ways you can approach this, and it depends on how much you want to get into it, whether you have somebody working for you who knows how to do a full campaign, or if you just want to boost a post because that's easier for you, right. So I want to give you yes, yes, if you work with us, it'll be amazing and we can do everything under the sun for you. They get your holistic dental message out there, create an amazing impact on your area and get all the people in front of you who you should be helping. However, if you're going to do it on your own, that's possible as well. So let's just give a detailed little thing here so you can start out if you want to.

Speaker 1:

So what you do is you'd find a way to record yourself Talking about a subject that you wanted to relay to your patients, and it can be as simple as I want to talk about how Rue canals are not the best option or not the only option for you and these following scenarios. And then you just talk like you'd be talking to a patient at your practice and maybe talk for 10 or 15 minutes, and there's your podcast. Record it on your phone. It can be as simple as that. The phone recordings used to not be good enough, but now they are really good and then you'd save it on your phone and send it to yourself. You can email it right to yourself. And then you take that emailed recording and download it on your computer Hopefully you have a computer. That would definitely be an essential part of this, I just kind of assume.

And then from there you'd sign up for buzz sprout, go to buzz sprout comm, sign up for their service, upload your episode. Now it's gonna be a little rough because you haven't done any editing, but I'm not gonna get into editing in this particular episode. It's a little more advanced and you don't absolutely have to have it. And Buzz sprout actually gives you a lot of instructions on how to do some editing and when you upload it it does a little editing for you. Uploaded into there, the AI built into Buzz sprout. The AI built into Buzz sprout will create some show notes for you or create the episode for you. There are some sub steps to this which are pretty clear when you sign up for Buzzsprout, so I'm not going to get into those. Once you've uploaded it, then you save it and then there's some different buttons to hit to go live or to schedule it Pretty simple. It'll also create chapters for you and it will also create a little transcript for you. There you go, you've got your own podcast.

Now, that's a simplicity of making it. Yes, there is more to marketing it. So, at the very minimum, when you go into Buzzsprout, you can make little short soundbites which you could then share on your social media, and that would be a great way to start. If you just did that, you'd be ahead of 99% of the people out there trying to market themselves in the general world or their area as a leader in their given area of expertise for you biological dentistry. There are not that many biological dentists doing this, especially locally, and the podcasting that is being done isn't necessarily getting to the right people because they're not targetedly marketing it. And that's where we would come in, of course. But that's just to show you. That is the simplicity of creating a podcast.

So don't have this idea that it's some big, huge task and undertaking that you could never do. Yes, to get results with it, you need to do some finessing. What's really important is what you do around the podcast Getting that message there, getting it out there not that hard. Setting up the thing so when people come to it they then can get sent to a page that allows them to come into your practice. Setting up the lines into your practice. Making it automated so it's not a burden on your staff or another thing your front desk has to handle. These are the keys to making it all work.

But just to give you an idea, that is a simplicity of setting up your own podcast. Maybe that makes sense. So, please, I always mention this, but join our Facebook group.
