One of the most inspiring people , my best friend  My husband . Of course had to be my 1st sit down interview .

Today we talk my husbands journey on Tonal and his training with Jackson Bloore . What it takes to stay disciplined and focused on his goals while playing all the rolls , taking care of his family and reaching for his goals .

We could have talked forever

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Hello, and welcome to my first YouTube channel. And we are going to be interviewing the one, the only Buckfan77. That is my husband. Yes, that's my husband. And we're going to interview him today. And we're going to talk about his tonal journey on All the programs and stuff that he is working on now. So let's give a round of applause for my lovely husband, Aaron Dunford. Take it away.

Track 1:

Hi.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

All right. So let's first off talk about why in the first place did we get tonal? I remember the story clearly how that went down, but in your memory, how did it go down?

Track 1:

My memory, um, I'm trying to think. So I guess it started right after the Peloton bike. And, uh, you know, we're, you, you just got into, uh, doing the, uh, lifting with Daniel. And, uh, and we were just on this health kick and, you know, I wanted to be more healthy. And, uh, you know, I just, I couldn't fit my big butt on the bike. I tried.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

The ass be hurting, bro. The ass

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Man.

Track 1:

So, uh, so we, we kind of, uh, did we have the tread then? I think we had the tread. Yeah,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

try to end the bike. Yep.

Track 1:

we had the tread and, uh, you know, when we dated the first time, uh, I, we went to the gym or I went to the gym and, uh, you know, I just like weight training. And, uh, I tried, I tried the whole cardio thing and, and, uh, it just didn't really do it for me. And then, um, I'm trying to think, did I have, do we have the tunnel before or after Covid? It was before Covid.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Yeah. It was, it was before COVID because I remember, uh, cause I think it was September, I think it was a little bit, but I can't, was it July or June that we got the tonal?

Track 1:

I think it was July, June, maybe June. No,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

cause we had, remember, because we had ordered it online to begin with, and then, you know, that whole price tag is like, holy shit, expensive. And then all, then my memory serves me right. All I had to say was, Hey. You know, Tony Horton is on tonal. Hubby was

Track 1:

bought it.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

it up.

Track 1:

No, no, no. I didn't find out till later.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

No,

Track 1:

I think. No, no, I think

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

bullshit. You, no. When you found out that Tony Horton was on tunnel, you were like, okay, we can do this now. Uh huh. I yeah, trust me I

Track 1:

P90.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Oh, because remember we went on marketplace and we

Track 1:

Uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

the um, Second hand one from that lady and

Track 1:

yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

it down two flights of wooden stairs To get this thing in the car

Track 1:

And in case you never picked your tunnel up, that bitch is heavy as fuck. And officially

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah, it is not it is not light and we've we've moved it twice now and I I Like it

Track 1:

my first exercise was calf raises, pushing the tunnel up so we could get up onto the thing. Remember, we had to call the neighbor over.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

We couldn't get

Track 1:

I'm like, calf lift. Boom. Perfect. Worked perfectly. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Tunnel prepares you for real life activities.

Track 1:

That's right.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

so what was your first program when we got the tunnel? It was Tony Horton, right? I don't

Track 1:

Yeah. So it was the 2020 Ignite and, uh, and I did the Tony Horton video because love you, Tony Horton, if you're listening, um, the, uh, 20, uh, it was, uh, Tony Horton, 2020 Ignite, um, you know, kind of just, you know, Got into the program. Um, and, and really, I think it just really came down to, it gave, gives you guidance, um, it tells you what to do, when to do, and it kind of takes all the guesswork out and, um, you know, all you, you know, I, I kind of joke and tell everybody, you know, All I have to do is go down to my front room and hit play and that's it. And, and, uh, you know, everything else takes over the rest. And, um, I remember doing 20, 20 at night and I was just like, man, this is awesome. This is great. I'm in and out 20 minutes. And then, you know, after a while, I just, I wanted more and, um, and, uh, you know, I didn't necessarily want to double up classes. So then, you know, you kind of thumbing through, you're scrolling through the, the thing and, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

The

Track 1:

and, and the library. And, uh, you know, I, I think I, I think I took Jared. Jared's class.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Divide and conquer. You took that, you took, you took that a lot was the divide and conquer.

Track 1:

Yeah. I like the divide and conquer and, and, and Jared. And then, and then after, you know, finishing that, I, you know, I look up and down the thing and I was like, who's the biggest, baddest motherfucker on air and, uh, there was Jackson. So then, then, uh, I was like, you know what? I got your bro. Come on. And then, and, uh, you know, he's the biggest, baddest dude in the club. That's, that's who you go after. And, uh, so the, so, uh, so yeah, I was kind of, you know, you kind of saw him in the, in the moves. And everything, and I was just like, I was a little intimidated at first, uh, but then, you know, just, uh, and, uh, so I think I started out with, uh, go, yeah, it was go big or go home one. And, uh, I think I was, I think it was on tunnel already a couple of months. Cause I think I finished Tony Horton's couple of 2028 nights. And then I think I did, uh, Jared's, uh, divide and conquer. And then I think I worked my way up to, uh, to, to Jackson. And, uh, you know,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that's when you started getting like more, um, disciplined and like more locked in on doing the programs. Cause I remember like at some point you were kind of rocky. You were doing it for a while and then you'd stop. Then you'd do it for a while and you'd stop.

Track 1:

yeah, you know, just, you know, life gets in the way. And I, I wasn't as, I wasn't as disciplined as I am now. I wasn't, uh, I think it was more to do with that. You weren't on, you know, you weren't, you were Peloton'd in, but you weren't Tunnel'd in,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I wasn't tunneling. I wasn't toneling.

Track 1:

Tunnel'd in,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Tonal

Track 1:

in. So, you know, it's, uh, you know, monkey see monkey do,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you do

Track 1:

uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

it does it helps a lot when you have somebody else kind of just like the driving the force and you want to be like, all right, I see you. I see you.

Track 1:

well, you know, I think it, I think it really came down to it after your, I think you really got into it, um, you know, everything was going on with, uh, Uh, uh, gosh, Peloton guy,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Peloton guy. Yeah. Yeah. Daniel.

Track 1:

Daniel, sorry,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Daniel thing.

Track 1:

the whole Daniel thing. And, and, uh, you know, it's like, you really got into weight training and kind of Daniel pushed you over to the, uh, instead of the cardio world into the weight world and, and, uh, you know, and, you know, I saw what success you had and, you know, you know, being my wife, you really inspired me. And, uh, so, you know, thinking. Thinking, thinking, you know, she could do it. I can do it. And it was funny because there was like so many things that like lined up and it's like, uh, you know, Tom Brady, you know, the quarterback that I hate signs with my favorite team. And probably one of the, you know, there was two things that really kind of gave me the. The kick in the ass, obviously with, you know, dad passing away, uh, you know, being, want to be there for your, your daughter and healthy and everything. And then, you know, Mr. Graves of all time going to your thing. And, and, you know, I looked down one day and I noticed that me and me and Tom were the same fricking age,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

crazy.

Track 1:

and you know, he's out there slinging footballs, getting chased down by, uh, you know, 300 pound defensive linemen and I'm like, you know, You know, if he's that doing this, you know, why not me, you know? And, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Totally.

Track 1:

and so I was just like, you know, I can, you know, I can do this, you know, and, uh, You know, just a little thing clicked on and it was just like, okay, I sat down. It's like, how am I going to do this? You know, and, uh, you know, being in the car business as you know, the, uh, schedules crazy and, and, uh, all hours. So, you know, the, the only time, the only time I could do it is wake it up at the butt crack of five 30.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

That's my, hey, that's my friend Mo. My friend Mo, man, she up at like three. So you and Mo could be like best buds, but yeah, you're up like hella early working out. My brain can't work that early.

Track 1:

But, you know, and the, really the, the main difference and I noticed now and then is that the You know, from when I worked out at the gym before and the inconsistency that would happen is because, uh, you know, being in the car salesman, being such a great salesperson as I am, uh, I would talk myself out of working out and, and, and with tunneling at home, I can't talk myself out of going from the bedroom to the, to the, to the basement, you know, and, uh, And, and I think that's,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

so much, we spent so much money doing this gym also, cause you're a big, big creature of, if you, if you're going to use the money to do something, you better use it. So that's

Track 1:

oh yeah,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

think that also helped you also like, Oh my gosh, I just spent all this money on this gym. I'm going to enjoy it. It

Track 1:

you know, and it's, it's, it's, it's awesome to come down, you know, fly the stairs and, and to have, you know, our, our space, our workout and, uh, you know, and it, and this removes every excuse, right? Um, you know, you, you, you, you have intent and there's just, you come down, you come down to work out, do your thing. And, um, you know, that's kind of when I, I found Jackson and I started doing it, uh, you know, not a big social media person, uh, not like my wife, uh, you know, so probably one of the things I could probably work on, but, um,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

All right.

Track 1:

You know, and, uh, you know, you post it every now and then, uh, you know, and then when I really got into doing go big or go home, and then I did go big or go home to, then I went back to one, then I think I went to divide and conquer and then back to two, you know, go big or go home three. And I just started, uh, you know, and when you watch somebody and, and, and the physical. prowess that Jackson has and everything, you really get wrapped up into it. And I felt like, and I felt like, uh, I felt like I was doing the work, but I wasn't getting the result because there's two parts of fitness, the, the, the in and the out, and, uh, you know, my, my biggest problem is the, is the diet portion and, you know, there's just so much, so much minutia, so much. Misinformation and, and everything. And, and, you know, lo and behold, one day Jackson, uh, you know, reached out to me and, and, uh, you know, You know, you kind of get that, Oh my gosh, that Jackson, you know, texted me or whatnot.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah,

Track 1:

And, uh, you know, we started talking and everything. And then, uh, you know, that's when I hooked up with him probably about what a year ago, yeah, about a year ago. And, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

and, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

been, I've been trained with Joe now for two years, so I mean, it's maybe a little bit over a year with.

Track 1:

So yeah, so I was probably in the tunnel for a year or a year and a half

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Cause you

Track 1:

uh, you know,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I was

Track 1:

and kind of doing the classes and everything. And then, and then Jackson reached out and said that, uh, you know, uh, you know, I can show you the way, you know, I can show you, uh, I can show you a sustainable plan that, you know, that you don't have to do this. Then this it's, you just do this and you know, I, I like simplicity. Um, you know, it's, uh, it's easy. It's, it's not easy, but it's, it's easy following. And, and, uh, you know, there's no room for, it's not, it's white or black. It's not gray. And, uh, you, you know, it gives you the, you know, gave me the plan and I, and, uh, you know, kind of maneuvered stuff around and, you know, through the loving support of my wife. With all that stuff, um, you know, it was able to, uh, have the success and, uh, you know, it was in, you know, it's, yeah, it's, you know, when you work a full time job, you know, the car business is full time plus and then, uh, you know, but I, I, I didn't want anything to be an excuse. I didn't want anything to, you know, if. If I'm going to make this work, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's, I'm going to make it work.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

yeah, exactly. It's all in, you know, it's, it's the machine, it's the, the, the using and everything. And, and, uh, you know, luckily I have a supporting wife and, uh, you know, we, or you know, they say birds of a feather flock together.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Together. Yeah. Well,

Track 1:

uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

but you know what, but it, it, it worked, you know, we both keep each other motivated and we're both on two totally different, like fitness journey goals and stuff like that. But that just goes to show that like how important having that support system is at home to help you to excel. Because I certainly wouldn't be as far as I am without you, you know, because I would have never gotten on tonal because I can remember you telling me like 10 times, like stop wasting your time doing those weight class because you could be so much further using tonal. And it's like now, since I've been training with Joe for these past two years, I'm just like, God, just imagine if I would have started, I mean, I'm thankful that, you know, I met Joe and now I'm training with him now, but just imagine if I would have started like earlier, like how far ahead I would have been. So it's just, it's, it's amazing what Tonal can do as a machine itself, but then having like a coach, like you have, like Jackson, that's literally going to push you to that next level.

Track 1:

well, I think the, the thing that kind of just, it was funny because like I was watching you do the, it was the, uh, The bench presses on Peloton where your, your, your elbows stopped at the floor and you're literally an L

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

it's like you just moved, lost all that, that, that stretch.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

The stretch of

Track 1:

And I, I'm just, and I'm just like, I mean, it's a no brainer, but never in a million years that I think that that would happen. And then you just,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

did like this girl could barely, like, when I started that video that you took of me bench pressing 30 pounds, I was like shaking, getting that weight up. And you're just like, I can remember, I think I messaged Andrew trippy also at that time, and he's like, Oh, those are your stabilizer muscles. It will get better. I think that's what he said. Is that a thing? Stabilizer muscles.

Track 1:

yes,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

So I can remember me shaking, getting those 30 pounds up. And it's just. It's so crazy how different it is lifting on tonal than it is actually lifting a physical weight. How much heavier it is because it's just like I look at dumbbells and then I look at like tonal and I'm just like, dude, tonal is no joke. That shit's heavy as shit.

Track 1:

well, I, I don't know the math, right. And, uh, you know, there's, I remember sitting on a call with Jackson one time and he tried to explain the. The math, the 25, yeah, the 25 pounds of the dumbbell and we got dumbbells up 60 pounds

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right,

Track 1:

and, and, and 25 pounds on a thing on a, on, on a tunnel, completely different. And,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

It humbles you real quick. Like, like Bulgarians or anything single leg using that way, it humbles you very quick. It makes you sit yourself down.

Track 1:

you know, you have to, sometimes you have to check your ego at the door.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah, it's like, you're like, oh, maybe I'll just hit it up. You know, you hit that dial and then you're just like, yeah, I regret that.

Track 1:

Well, the hardest thing, the hardest thing is when you, you know, you first get into it. And, uh, you know, you have that, that comes to Jesus. Uh, you know, I, I used to do 225, 10 pounds, you know, 10 times. No problem. You know, 225 is like the standard gym weight. And, uh, I remember, I remember putting a hundred pounds on each thing and I was like, all right, and I didn't move. And I felt like, I was like, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap. And I hit the button and, uh, I was, it was like 200 pounds. I didn't feel the same.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

But I do have a question for you because I have seen like a revelation with you and your training and I've kind of like watched that you've got, like, like listening to you talking is about how did you become a leg day fan? Like, how did that happen? Because I can remember like when you first started taking like tonal programs and stuff like that, you were like, So how did, how did, how, what, how, what made it change for you? What changed?

Track 1:

So literally like there was, there was times in the beginning where, especially in like, go big or go home for the first time, uh, leg day, you were like, What's next? You know, and there was days like I skipped leg day and, um, and I,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I

Track 1:

I, I just, I couldn't, uh, you know, in, There's a point where you're, your brain and your ego kind of like, uh, conflict.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Mm hmm.

Track 1:

Let's call it confliction.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

because, because you want to lift that heavy weight like right now. You're like, I can do this right now. But in

Track 1:

Yeah,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

it's just, it's just not there yet.

Track 1:

well, it's, it's almost like to the point where you put the weight and then you look around to see if anybody's looking.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Hey, but that's, hey, but that's the great thing about having your own gym. You are the strongest person in the gym. Just hey, honey, just let you know, you are the strongest person in this gym.

Track 1:

Yes. So the, uh, I literally, and, uh, I, I just, I just, for some reason I couldn't do it. And then like the front squats, the front squats were really difficult. Um, I seem to have a lot of back problems cause my form sucked. Uh, and then I discovered lunges and then like, I hated them at first.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Mm

Track 1:

then I, then I had a problem with, you know, the right leg being so much weaker than the red, the left leg.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

like, so I, I did it off, you know, even though it had tunnel, I did it with tunnel, but I didn't put any weight on it. And I just slowly, but surely

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Just

Track 1:

started doing it, started doing it. And it just became easy, you know, not easier, but I started actually liking it. And there's nothing like, there's nothing like bending down. And something you're not

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right. That's like, that's like, I think a lot of times I think with people that with like days are, you know, are so uneasy about, but it really is, you know, just trusting the numbers where tonal sets you at and just trusting that process and kind of moving along with it slowly because. Like it, you know, for me now, like hip thrusting 200 pounds and neutral deadlifting 200 pounds is like boggling to me now, but in the beginning I was petrified of lifting anything heavy because like you said, it's, it's your, your back, you know, you're worried about hurting yourself, but it's just like with tonal that the, all those like options that you have for like safety stuff, you know, that can, you know, turn off the weight for you and it's not like you're going to drop a dumbbell on your head. So,

Track 1:

Yeah

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

but it's still like, like you said, it's just very humbling when that weight starts to, you know, when you think you can dial it up more and it's just like, okay, I need to dial it back because to stop myself from injuring myself, I may not be at that weight where I want to be right now lifting, but I'll get there. That's kind of like how I think of as, as of it now is, you know, not, cause how far, like how far you've come with training with Jackson from where you started and where you are now, huge difference, huge difference. So it's just like at that moment, you probably like, why didn't I just wait? Like I should have just trusted the process. Cause that's how sometimes I look at it. Like when I think get my ego gets in the way, like, Oh, I'm going to crank up the weight. Like I had to dial back on Bulgarian split squats because my ego got in the way. I think, I can't remember what class it was. I think it was in divide and conquer level up with Joe and I cranked it up. And then like the next program, I was like, I can't do this shit. I had a, I had to dial it down. I'm like, what was I thinking? I just fucked myself up. So now I got to start over. I just to start all over work my way up. But now I earned that weight. And that's something that I learned from Joe is really earning that weight. So

Track 1:

I think,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Oh, sorry. Go

Track 1:

no, I think the biggest thing when it comes to the actual trainers is that the, you know, I I've done squats before and I was never a front fan of squats, um, and I, and everybody talks about form and how to line up and everything, but no one ever told me about bracing core and it was really. And until I started doing core exercise, that's when, like, everything, like, changed. And, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

bracing.

Track 1:

I mean, that, that was, like, that was, like, the, the biggest thing. That's when I noticed the, the, the really big change. You know, uh, you know, I did, I, I joke around. And, uh, now I, you know, I went from no abs to two abs and now I got like a, like a half of a, you know, half of the other two. And then I'm probably about six months away from the bottom two.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

But that's like one of the, I there was like, we're talking about is so much stuff that we didn't know about that, you know, that the tonal coaches and like Jackson is teaching is like, I never learned about core bracing. I never learned about engaging my lats with RDLs and deadlift. I never knew about that. All that stuff or, you know, when you're bench pressing to, you know, how to, you know, push with your back and engage your lats and your tri like everything is so much more involved and it's so much more complex to, to get like the muscle that, and the gains that you want. And it's just like, there's like a huge gap that we were missing in information. You know, we're catching up. We're catching up. We're getting smarter.

Track 1:

Well, the, the, uh, the, uh, and one of the game changers too was, is that the, I remember doing the RDLs and the, uh, uh, RDLs and the, uh, neutral grip, neutral grip, uh, deadlifts. And um, and I remember, I remember coming to you and I was like, I can't figure this crap out. Like I go down

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

You're like, they're the same thing. I'm like, no, they're not.

Track 1:

and like, I, for some reason, my body just wants to pull with the back and like. And I remember, like, I remember, what was it? I remember, I think it was like, I, one reason I worked out at night or something like that. And I just, I was like, you sit here and watch me and what I'm doing. And then like you, like you would say, okay, do this and I get it. And then you leave the room. And then it went back to trying to lift everything with my back. And I'm, I'm just like, I can't figure it out. It was like, and then, you know, Jackson talked about the mind muscle connection. And then, you know, after doing that, uh, you know, it was, you know, I hadn't talked to myself. No back, no back, no back, no back, no back, no back, leg, leg, leg, leg, legs, hip, hip, hip, hip, hip. Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

that was kind of like, you know, like, it's like living with your own coach.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I mean, I mean, I mean, I did help you with your bench press.

Track 1:

You did.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that.

Track 1:

Oh, do we want to go into that story?

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Why not? Because this is a goodie.

Track 1:

All right. So, so, uh, so I got every other Sunday off and, uh, and sometimes I'd work two or three Sundays in a row. And there's this one Sunday I just, you know, got up extra early, wanted to do the workout and, um, I wasn't using gloves and I wasn't using wrist straps and, uh, you know, my wife's not gonna tell me anything. And, uh, And I was doing, I was doing bench presses and I guess I was doing this and, or that. Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

And like one day I like literally. Like my shoulder just hurt. Like it was like somebody punched me in the shoulder. And I remember,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

he was, he's talking calmly, he was ready to amputate.

Track 1:

yes,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

But he was ready to

Track 1:

like I sprained my shoulder. I messed my shoulder up. There's something that's wrong. And she's like, she's like, honey, it's not that bad. I'm like, no, I can't lift my shoulder. So I ended up going to a, uh, The urgent care,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

he went to the urgent care.

Track 1:

I went to urgent care. I mean, it, it hurt that bad and I'm like, Oh man, I messed up my shoulder. I tore, I tore my road. No, I was like, I tore my rotator cuff.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

oh yes, you were googling. You were

Track 1:

I was,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

the symptoms.

Track 1:

I was on YouTube and it was the test. It was the test. I'm like, Oh my God, I did the test. Oh, it's falling off. You know, the kind of thing. And I ran down to the urgent care clinic.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

And

Track 1:

And like, I'm,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

he was so mad at me because I was just like rolling my eyes. I'm like, this is not this is

Track 1:

he was laughing at me

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I was like, do you feel that? Do you feel that? You know, I, you know, yeah, he went to the urgent clinic.

Track 1:

and, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

what did

Track 1:

and sure

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

tell you?

Track 1:

they stuck me with a needle. And,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

bit because what did I tell you what happened? And

Track 1:

it's the, it's your bench press farm, bench top, please. Ain't no bench press.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

then

Track 1:

I was

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

goes

Track 1:

like,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

ER and then he calls me back and he says, Yeah, I just, like, strained it.

Track 1:

I'm like, ah, man, you know what? I think it was like in the middle of like maybe one or two months after,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

You started

Track 1:

after I started the Jackson.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah.

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Cause

Track 1:

And, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

time off from that, from working out for a little bit.

Track 1:

yeah, I think I took it like a week off and, um, and sure enough, it And she comes in and,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

he's, Yep

Track 1:

and, uh, I did it. I was like, okay, I think I left that day. And I went down to Dick's and bought some, some wrist, some wrist things. And, and now with those, I can, I can like really lock, lock it in. And I don't tend to have, cause I think my wrist is pretty weak cause I have a hard time with pushups. That's why I use the pushup bars.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

right

Track 1:

And, uh, just from, from that, it's just, it's amazing how this has so much to do with that. And, uh, you know,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

It's like that mountain and it's like now every single time you do bench now you just remind yourself to To

Track 1:

every time, cause I do it, I do it every time I do that. And then I lock it in

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yep.

Track 1:

it's just like, good God. Now my wife is going to hold this over my head for the rest of my life.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Hey, I I told joe. I told joe. I was like joe. I I let me just a wife win right now. I helped my husband with his bench press form. High five. But that but that but it's so easy how to You know, that's why I record myself a lot because it's those it's that littlest thing That can either cause an injury, a discomfort, or, um, you, like, stop you from lifting heavier. And when I record myself, I can almost, about 65, 75 percent of the time, notice what I'm doing wrong. But, you know, like, like I said, that's why I wish with, like, Jackson and stuff like that, that you would get more into, like, recording yourself and, you know, getting form help and, like, stuff like that.

Track 1:

So he says that you can record, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I know you're so busy, but at the end of the day, want to get stronger. So sometimes we gotta, you know, ask for help every once in a while.

Track 1:

You're right.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

You know and that's how you get bet but that's how your lifts get better and you get you be able to lift heavier because even What what did jackson jackson was on that guy's youtube channel recently, right? To

Track 1:

Which one?

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

his squat depth, right? Did I show

Track 1:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. So he, um, yeah. So he said, he said that, uh, he was going to the guy that does the squat university

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

uh, it, and he, uh, and he, uh, about the book, uh, cause he read his book and everything. And he actually went there and, uh, and, and did that. And it's funny too, because. Like, you know, you, you can't let your ego check you at the door. Jackson told me, uh, or wouldn't have told me it was in a, it was in a, uh, a call one time. And like, if anybody doesn't know, Jackson actually wrote a book on abs.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

wrote a book, a actual book on abs

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

abs

Track 1:

and all about abs. And he goes in one day with some back pain into the office. And he says that, uh, the, the nurse. Said that he wasn't bracing his, wasn't bracing his core and Jackson's like, what are you talking about? Do you not see, you know, kind of

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Do you

Track 1:

there's,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I am?

Track 1:

you know, I wrote the book and, uh, and sure enough, he said that, you know, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't bracing the core all the way and, you know, and here, this guy's, you know, physically fit. Trainer and, you know, even he had to, you know, take and it's, it's all about learning and everything, but

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

it is all learning it truly is and being open to learning and you know, like, you know, it's it's it's I think it's just like a never ending process because it's just there, you know, we're never searching for perfection. We're just searching for that 1 percent better. Um, and that's, you know, it's just like, because where you start isn't where you finish, like they say. So, know. So what phase are you in now with Jackson?

Track 1:

so I finished phase 11 and then, so what I, what I'm doing now is I'm going back to phase one. And, uh, I'm going to, because it's basically about 12 months, I'm going to go through that, um, and, and kind of redo that and then, you know, go through the diet again. Um, originally when I started with Jackson, I think I weighed two, it's like 238 if I remember correctly. Um, and I got down to, uh, now I'm like 207. Um, you know, so I lost almost 30 pounds and, uh, you know,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you got you got taken when you know in 2020 when you know the whole covid strike thing also you lost god, how much weight did you lose from covid?

Track 1:

yeah, so I was 275, 275 and, you know, starting out with tunnel, total, and, uh, you know, going through diet. Um, you know, I went through my heel phase. Um, and, uh, you know, that's kind of where some of the misinformation with, uh, you know, Jackson kind of set me straight on that. Um, you know, I'm thinking I can drink, drink my meals and stuff like that. And you, and you can, um, you just

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that's

Track 1:

up drinking more meals, you get hungry and stuff. So, you know, that's kind of where

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

got to use your jaw muscles Like I don't understand how that that was going to work with like not being able to like chew your food Like I can't

Track 1:

I want to say, like, right after COVID, I think I lost because it was, I was probably out a month. And, uh, you know, I was in the hospital and, and, uh, you know, I remember, I remember walking into the ER. Um, I really didn't want to go to the hospital because, you know, you're hearing all these horror stories. People are walking into hospitals and not walking out. Um, and like, I've never, like two things I remember about COVID one, not sleeping and two, like to walk 30 steps was like running a marathon.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

right

Track 1:

and I'm just, you know, I'm sitting there and I'm thinking like, I'm 42 years old. Why is this happening to me? And, uh.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah,

Track 1:

and, and so the, you know, the weight came off, um, you know, uh, my, my, my wonderful wife used to take me for walks

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yes, I would get you. Yes.

Track 1:

me out of the house.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yes to get you moving because that's so important

Track 1:

and I fought and argued and I don't want to do it and

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

stuff. And, and then like, it just, I woke up one day and I was 20 pounds lighter and had a choice to make. And, uh, either I could. Go down this path and, you know, with everything what happened to my dad, I already knew what was down that path and,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

and then I can go down this path and, uh, And, and, and change things and, uh, you know, have, have a, a, a better life, a better health, better, um, you know, not, you know, I just know so many people that are on so many medications for, for everything. And it's just like, I, I don't want to be that person. And so the. And, and, and that's the, the, the, the, the path I chose. And, and it just work after work, after work, um, and do that. And, and the great time that I met Jackson is that I just happened to, I just, I, I think I plateaued. Like I dropped to 2 28, I think it was. But then I, I always went back to like 2 34, 2 35. Um, and then, and that's kind of when I discovered, you know, really nutrition and, you know, macros. Weighing food and what to eat, uh, you know, intermittent fasting, um, you know, don't eat anything before 12 o'clock. Um, which is funny. I still haven't eaten anything now. So, so the, uh, you know, learning about diet and trust me, and by no means am I perfect, you know, my wife will tell you the, uh, you know, it's sometimes some days are better than others, you know, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

It's

Track 1:

yeah,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

to, you can't, you can't have a diet that's unsustainable, that you're not going to be able. And we talk about this a lot. Is

Track 1:

yes. And that's one of

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

You have to have something that's sustainable. You can't have something that you can't sustain. And then you're going to almost want to do the opposite and binge eat. And then you're eating so much of everything because you're not doing everything in a balance and it's not going to fit your lifestyle. And I think that was one of the things

Track 1:

the things that we all

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

when you started training with Jackson, because training with

Track 1:

found is that

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

think,

Track 1:

I

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

feel was

Track 1:

feel was like a huge turning point for you, the, obviously in

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

and your discipline, because

Track 1:

because

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

alone

Track 1:

let alone. You didn't have me right now. But you, you, Jackson was there. Like, you had all the abilities. You were playing him. Kind of was just like, okay, well, I'm not going to waste my money and time. Like I said, your whole mindset was, you

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

your whole mindset is you don't waste

Track 1:

know, there's money. So, and we're like,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

this

Track 1:

doing this and I'm going to do it for you. I'm going to do well. And I think that was like a huge factor with you being more conscious of your diet. Is because you had that kind of ability.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that accountability of a trainer right behind you.

Track 1:

Right. And, and that, and the one thing that, that really stuck with me that Jackson said was is that you can't let one little thing affect the outcome. Meaning if the one day of binge eating, you know, he's, you know, you just see too many people one day turns into two, it turns into five, it turns into the rest of your life and you just, and you give up because you think it's easier and, uh, you just gotta, you really gotta have the mindset of, of seeing what you want. You know, there's in the group, in the group that you take photos and, um, you know, seeing what you looked at before, and then you see what you look like after. And, uh, for, for me, it was really two things. One, it was that, that, that a pair of jeans that you bought me when we first started dating.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

For guests, when I worked at guests,

Track 1:

So these jeans, yes, the jeans, those jeans are probably from what? 2003, 20

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

they're

Track 1:

years old. Love my bootcut. I don't even wear boots. But the, but like I always kept these jeans and it was crazy because you know, I was like, man, I, I used to fit in these jeans and, and like slowly but surely, uh, those, those, the, you know, I just one day threw them on and, and, and they fit and that was,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that was a huge win. That was a

Track 1:

yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

And then you went to like the closet and you were like trying on all your

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

and you were like, oh my god, look how big this is. Look how big, how big this is. And I think that was like, honestly, that is like the best thing ever. is like what seeing your face when you were doing that, because I know that was such a huge accomplishment for you because it is like, you know, like you said, with your schedule and stuff like that, it's hard to really like eat during your work day. And then come home late at night, sometimes at like nine, 10 o'clock. And you know, you've barely eaten all day and you're just like, okay, I need to get all this food in at me right now.

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

for, for you to like, get to where you are right now is like a huge accomplishment because

Track 1:

Yeah. The, the second thing was touching, be able to, uh, touch my toes. Hey, touch toes,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

touch, touch your toes. Touch your

Track 1:

touching my toes.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

wait, wait, wait, wait. Didn't you tell Jackson that's what you were excited about? Did you

Track 1:

So we, so we have a, so we have a couple of things in the, in the group. One is when's Wednesday. And I was just like, and you know, people are putting on, you know, lost 10 pounds. I did this, I did that, and I was just like, and I think, I think it was Emily. Emily actually, uh, did the win Wednesday. And, uh, I,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I

Track 1:

I'm like, I'm like, I touched my toes, I was able to bend over and touch my toes. And like in the wind Wednesday, she, she's going down the thing and like, she's like, that is such a big thing. And I was like, I thought it was like kind of a joke, but not really a joke. And, uh, and she's, and she went on for about five minutes, you know, about the little things that you do. And it's just like the little things that you, that you, that you don't think about until you can do it.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah. Bending, like, how important is bending over? Like, how many times a day do you bend, like, need to bend over? A lot. So,

Track 1:

Yeah. I mean, we pick stuff up. You want to, you want to, if you go down, you want to make sure you get up.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yes, yes. And then also, you know, with all the, um, know, with training and stuff like that, you really took on to, like, Recovery mode guru guy, like you went from like fun of me with my Normatech legs that I used to wear for my marathons and then like now we're like a full blown like PT recovery

Track 1:

Recovery center. Well, I, I, I don't take credit for the sauna. I don't take credit for the sauna. That was you.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that was

Track 1:

Um, but, but, uh, I remember like, uh, so, you know, I kind of did some research about biohacking. Um, and I, I stumbled across, uh, uh, red light therapy. And like, there's so much, so SANA, there's a lot of, there's a lot of, uh, research. Red Light Therapy, uh, there's a lot of research. And like, the research that I was hearing about Red Light Therapy was like, And there was one person that used, uh, uh, blood doping effects. And I'm like, there's no way. And, um, I said, and, and don't get me wrong just because I stand under red lights, doesn't mean I'm going to go out and crack a 500 foot home run or, you know, something like that. But it's like the little aches and pains. Um, where I, where I really use red light is I, I usually do it before I warm up before I do that. And I think that's helped out a lot with the, with the stretching, the recovery, the little aches and pains. Like I noticed I used to take a lot of ibuprofen

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

uh, I don't take any now. And, um, you know, a lot of people might hear this and be like, Oh, well, you know, that's BS. Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh. But I'm, I'm just telling you, I started doing it and I, I saw change and, um, and, uh, you know, it's. I tend to sleep a little bit better now. Um, not so the, uh, it seemed to have more energy. Like, you know, I get up at five 30 in the morning. Sometimes I don't come home until nine o'clock. Um, you know, so there really must be something to that as far as the recovery, um, aspect and, and, uh, you know, and then, As, as I'm doing that research, you're doing the sauna research and we're redoing our basement and I'm like, you know, there was, I think we're talking about and just like, I was just like, no, do this. No, let's do that.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

No, what we were talking about putting a treadmill because we were gonna put, remember we were gonna put a salt treadmill down there, a belt treadmill?

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

um, I was just like, you know what, I don't want to be tempted, you know, I think it's just like, you know, when I was doing the Peloton days, you know, with me over training, you know, that temptation to get into that, I want to do everything kind of mindset, um, was like, I was just like, okay, I can't have that because I will, I will go off the edge again. And then when we started, I was just like, you know what? I was like, From, uh, Coach Christina Tonal. She's huge on recovery and like mobility and stuff like that. And that's kind of like where I got my brain thinking on doing the sauna is that I was like, we spend all this money with Tonal, the membership. You know, the basement and stuff like that. I was like, okay, so we need to reinvest that into recovery. So we are able to do the tonal longer. So I think when we started doing the sauna and the red light, I think that is like the best things that we ever did. I mean, I use the sauna almost every day.

Track 1:

Yeah. I don't, I don't use it as much as I should. Uh, but the, uh, the red light therapy and, and, and really. I think that's what a lot of people get wrong is the recovery and it doesn't have to necessarily be sauna. It doesn't necessarily have to be red light therapy, but just

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

something for your body. And you know, it's funny. It all started with the air boots, the Norma tech. I think that was the very, very, very first thing that we got. And then it ballooned into.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

700 for those. Those things are not going to work.

Track 1:

That was not only do we have one set, we have two.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

We have two sets. We have the arms. We have the hips. have a back. We have so much recovery. Like we should own stock in like Hypervolt and Hyperice and like.

Track 1:

And I, and I remember like when I, I think the second thing we bought was the back, the heated back thing. And I remember like, like when I first started working out with tunnel that I would actually wear that when I worked out because my, my back felt like it was tightening up and whatnot. And I, I mean, I, I haven't had any back issues for a while.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. I haven't, I haven't heard you ever said that you were having any back problems because you used to have a lot of back problems. Like

Track 1:

Oh yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

scared, you were scared on like days, but you know, that goes back to what you said about you learning about core bracing and stuff like that. So

Track 1:

So, yeah, I would say if anybody needs to recover, let us know.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah, we have a plethora.

Track 1:

We could be a retreat.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah, we could, we could, I mean, we got everything. So let's just say, so you're going into back to your first program with Jackson. Now, what, like what goals are you having for yourself going into this second time around that you want to do different than you did the first time around?

Track 1:

So, not to steal from my wife, but the, uh, the, uh, I'm really looking forward to, um, you know, you kind of power through the first one. Um, You know, cause just to kind of show it, and I think I want to do more, uh, concentrate on time under tension, um, and, uh, versus just, you know, throwing up max weight, stuff like that. I think that's, I think that's, you know, being a male and, you know, into the weights, you always want to do more and more and more and more and more and more. And the, the one thing that I think I've learned. Is that it's not necessarily the amount that you're pushing. It's how you're pushing it.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right. And

Track 1:

And

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

that's, that's one thing that like this whole, this one thing that I've, like you said, I've learned is that sometimes it's just like, yes, I can move that 200 pounds. Yes. I can, you know, bench press. I think I'm up to like, I can do one rep max on 90. But it's just like, how slow can I move it? And how long can I hold the stretch for before pushing up? So it's like, I'm excited to go back into that kind of slowing down and really focusing on stretching the muscle. And, you know, because I know I can lift heavy, just like you said, I know I can move that heavy weight. That's already done. That's. Check. Okay. That's check. It's done. I've maxed out tunnel on three moves. Check. You know what? But now I need to rein it back in, sit myself down, and like you said, really focus on that time under tension. Because I think that whole hypertrophy thing with, you know, growing muscle mass and stuff like that, I think is just like, it's a game changer, I think.

Track 1:

yeah. And, you know, so I, I time under tension. Um, I think it's really going to, uh, you know, when I, when I originally sat with Jackson and we sat down cause, uh, he has a phone call with you and he goes over what you're looking to do, um, you bounce ideas off each other and kind of go over your goals. And I remember sitting there and I was like, well, I, I really want to get down to, I really want to get down. I think, I think I told him two 15, if I remember correctly.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah, I

Track 1:

And, um, cause at the, at the very, very time that I started with him, that, that I went ahead and said, Hey, okay, I'm going to do it. I was two 32 well then in preparation. So really, I think it was either a week or two weeks before I actually started the program. He sent me the diet. And so that's when I started doing the diet and I actually lost, I think it was like seven or eight pounds between the time that he sent me that to the time I started. So I think I told him 215 from 230, 232, but I already lost 10 pounds.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Right.

Track 1:

so I remember I was like, well, you know, if I can get down to 215 and now I, I think, uh, you know, just kind of after going through this whole process, I think I could probably get somewhere around in the 190. I think that's kind of the, like I said, 207 this morning. I think the one nineties is we'll get rid of my little tire that I have.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah.

Track 1:

And, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you also think, you know, body recomp. You know, I mean, because look at me. I'm a lot, I'm a lot heavier right now. I mean, I'm at 141 pounds. You wouldn't know it. but, you know,

Track 1:

you're

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I

Track 1:

more, more solid than you think.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Solid as a rock. Now if I could just get that bicep vein, we'll be sold.

Track 1:

Yeah. My one Holy thing that I get to hold over your head.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

mine is hiding. My bicep vein is hiding. I don't know why it's hiding. Maybe, I can't say because I'm like really fair skinned so that can't be a cop out why it's not poking out. I don't know. I don't know.

Track 1:

Just got to talk to it. Hey.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you know, maybe, maybe I do need to start having conversations with the bicep vein because I, I do have conversations with it. I'm like, why are you coming out? But hey, you know, Joe, Joe does have that new chest program that he is dropping. I am excited for, um, so maybe, maybe that, maybe that will be the secret key because he did add some pushup options in there for me. I'm going to say he did it for me. I'm just, I'm just going to say he did it for me.

Track 1:

Well, here's the one thing about the bicep vein thing is that for some reason on my left arm, it just But on my right arm, I'm just now starting to to see it But if I was to pose in the mirror, I think my right arm was bigger than my left arm for some reason The left arm just seems back more vascular. Yeah, like the left one is Predominant the the right one.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

weird.

Track 1:

Yeah, don't know

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I wonder why that is.

Track 1:

Don't know.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you said which arm's bigger?

Track 1:

The right one feels bigger or it looks bigger. The, the left one just seems more lean and I can't explain why.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

You got beefy and lean.

Track 1:

Yeah. Not to be confused with Taylor and Swift.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Oh my God. No, I can't believe he, I just, so, all right. So we're going to be working on, both of us are going to be working on time under tension. So this is interesting cause I'm going into accumulation. and then, uh, Jackson doesn't do phases, does he? It's just

Track 1:

No, he does. He does.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

he

Track 1:

Yeah, he does. Um,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

like, rep changes, I mean. Like, like,

Track 1:

oh yeah, yeah, he does.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

then sometimes, okay, okay.

Track 1:

Yeah. So the one program, so it's four week programs, each phase, uh, through the, uh, the, the program is four phases. Um, four phases, you know, a new, a new phase every month. Um, but I kept going after that. Um, so he does, he'll, he'll do, like, phase two, phase uh, one is high reps, twelve reps. Um, then, then I remember, I don't know exactly which phase it is, but, you know, cause all I have to do is push play.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yes. I don't even know what, I don't know what I'm doing, but

Track 1:

I don't even know what I'm doing, I just push play and I do it. Uh. The, uh, and then it'll, it'll go down to four. So tie is 12 as low as as four.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Mm

Track 1:

And, uh, you know, and that's where the, the heavy, the heavy stuff comes in. And that the heavy stuff with the eccentric is awesome from,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. No, eccentric and chains are the devil. Those are evil Knievels. I, I don't think I, I ever curse so much when those suckers turn on, especially like on standing chest press. I'm like, Tonal, you're not getting a hug today. You are not pulling me back today, son.

Track 1:

oh, the, the worst is, is when like you're really pushing and you're like, oh, yeah. And then that third rep comes in, it's like It's like, oh crap.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I got stuck! The, uh, like, I made, I made a reel about it, because I was just like, see, you don't have to be scared to lift hu On tonal heavy and I got stuck right here on my bench and it was not going up. There was no way that bar was moving. I'm like, I'm sitting there. I'm like, I'm pushed, trying to push as hard as I could. And it was just not going up. And I had to turn the weight off. I had to put, I had to put the weight down. That's always the worst for me, especially

Track 1:

The one time I was scared. Yeah, the one thing there's been a couple of times I've been like that, that it hits my chest. And then I think the one time I forget what actually Oh, I was doing a chess. I was doing chess wise and the strap broke

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Oh yeah. We remember that. Yeah.

Track 1:

and I'm, and as soon as the strap broke, I'm like, Oh my God, my wife's going to kill me.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you broke you broke her.

Track 1:

It's like, and I remember, I think, I think as soon as it happened, I like ran upstairs and I'm like, Oh my

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

were

Track 1:

God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. I swear this happened. It wasn't me. It was the strap. I didn't do it.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah. But we, you know, like since we bought our second hand, we didn't know how many workouts they had done previously or how old their tonal was. So, I mean, it was bad. I mean, they should be replaced. I mean, the, the new hotness, the new handles are awfully nice. So.

Track 1:

they are.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

re, we replaced both of them just to be safe. Ha ha ha.

Track 1:

if one breaks, chances are the other one breaks. But yeah, that was a little, that was a little. Scary. That scared the crap out of me. I was like, I was like, Whoa, the hell?

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Well, I remember I tried to fix it and then I tried doing, I think I was doing neutral deadlifts at like 60 pounds cause I had done it at 60 and it wouldn't hold it. It snapped again. So

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you know, it is what it is, but you can like, we bought those, bought those like Bobo ones off of Amazon. That you just

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

turn off the way, but

Track 1:

Yeah. So, uh, I think, you know, uh, Mr. Jeff, Mr. Jeff has, uh, has all the toys. And, uh, I was asking him, he does, he's, he's got his attachments have attachments.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yes, that is

Track 1:

And, uh, I remember, I think we were, me and him were going back and forth on, uh, Facebook and, uh, and, uh, he recommended those straps just for, for the thing until the other straps showed up.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah, but it all worked out for the best. It all worked out for the best. We got everything fixed, got new hotness handles. So good to go. Um, all right. So we've been talking for almost an hour.

Track 1:

Oh, wow.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

you believe almost an hour, but it has been exciting. So let's wrap this up. My first YouTube channel episode with my hubby. So just wanted to say thank you hubby for always supporting me, for sending me on a plane to New York city multiple times. and especially this last time to go meet my husband. All the tonal coaches and members and stuff like that. I just like it, it means so much that you kind of like support my craziness. The biggest

Track 1:

Well, so here's the offset is like the, uh, you know, everything that's happened and going on and everything it's, it's, it's really super challenging for you to, to go out and then I was, I was very, I was, I was happy and excited that, you know, it got you, it got you out into the, uh, the thing and I'm just like, you're literally hopping on a plane. Going to New York and, uh, and,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

craziest, like worst place for a germaphobe ever to go.

Track 1:

and you talk about a woman on a mission. It was like,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

I

Track 1:

it was like, like she literally, she, her stuff was packed like three days beforehand. And, you know, we're, we're going over coat, coat selection because, you know, Georgia cold is completely different from New York cold and, and, and all that kind of stuff. And it was amazing because, you know, the. The fear that we had to overcome just to do that. And, um, you know, it's, it's, I was very proud of you and, uh,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

me, like how Joe's helped me and stuff like that, like, I think that fear of, you know, that, uh, mama bear, you know, that like I can do anything that adrenaline. Just like it's all up inside you and you just get so excited that you're going to like see this person that has helped you and you get to tell them thank you to their face like we had talked about earlier about like, kind of like how social media and AI and all this other stuff, you know, it's, it's still important to have that, you know, human interaction and that, you know, the, the, the, the people, because that's what, you know, um, That's what makes it so much more fun for me. It makes it so much more fun to me having, you know, the coaches and kind of like, you know, now that I've met them in person, it's just like, in my brain, it's just like, we got jokes.

Track 1:

well, the one thing I was concerned with, and if I had Joe's phone number, I probably would have called him beforehand. I just thought maybe they should have beefed up security with you being there. Um, you know, running tackling Joe.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Joe could squash me with his bicep.

Track 1:

Probably not.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Joe, Joe is Joe. is like, how tall is he? Six four, right?

Track 1:

He's tall. Yeah, him and Jackson both are. I think six, four, six, five

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah. Yeah.

Track 1:

big boys.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

yeah. Joe. Yeah. No. There's no tackling Joe. Joe is the linebacker. Like you said, like you said, you pick the baddest, biggest, most like

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

ass. Coach and then you're just like, you know, what not

Track 1:

Why not? I came this far. What could happen?

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

what could happen? You know, what what what else crazy shit? Could this guy like honestly come up with and I think that's like where I was just like I was Kind of like he could actually do a lot because the options that he throws are a little cray cray

Track 1:

I remember I did a Joe. I think I did a joke. I think I did a joke.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

did Joe's divide and conquer level up and you lasted like the first week and you're like fuck leg days

Track 1:

And I remember the, the, the stretch, the hamstring stretch.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Joe loves the hamstring stretch. I

Track 1:

Well,

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

is just the best Oh,

Track 1:

want to see his year in review because it gives you your number one movement. I guarantee you his was that leg stretch.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

guarantee, guarantee. He loves that thing. He is all about his hamstring stretch. Like when he improves that hamstring stretch, because you can literally, like I took his power build one class and then, you know, I've taken some of his like. Newer stuff. His hamst not I'm giving credit. Man, his hamstring stretches. Oh

Track 1:

And I love someone that can laugh at himself because he'll be doing this hamstring strike. Look at that big guy go. Look, look at that flexibility.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

He has the he has the best personality. He gets me cracking up and I absolutely, absolutely love it, so.

Track 1:

He needs to learn like a John Madden voice. It's like, whoa, look at that. Look at the hamstring.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Boom! Oh, he has enough. He he has enough, um, what is he? Like the, uh, Help Me Tom Cruise. Like, he has a lot of he's a I think Joe is a movie guy, so he does a lot of, like, movie, um, quotes. Like

Track 1:

That's probably why you like us because, you know, we love our movies.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Yeah, yeah, because he's he he's a big like when he did that stepbrothers reel Remember when I showed you like we're here

Track 1:

Yeah.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

up. I think so good So, all right, let's wrap this up. We've been talking for over an hour So like I said, thank you so much hubby for doing this for me. I really appreciate it and um, Here's to the next part of our fitness journey

Track 1:

Well, LFG.

squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024_155223:

Thanks, babe
