Game Changers: Incredible Stories of Resilience in Sports

Donovan Williams - Mr. Basketball Nebraska 2020 - Episode 10

Linda Martindale Season 1 Episode 8

This week's episode features Mr. Basketball in Nebraska, Donovan Williams.

Williams, an ESPN and Rivals four-star recruit, led all Nebraska high school players with 28.3 points per game. No slouch in the rebounding department, he also hauled in a team-high 8.1 boards per game, and added 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists per game.  Rivals listed Williams as the nation's 128th ranked recruit in 2020, while 247Sports also listed him among the top 150 recruits in the country and the No. 28 shooting guard.

Williams played two years at Oklahoma State, then University of Pacific and now Western Michigan University.  Like most athletes, his story is not a straight line - listen in as Donovan talks about his journey through multiple injuries, the recruiting process, transferring schools and how he coped to find his way through without breaking his spirit and love for the game.
