In the inaugural episode of the Self Relativity Podcast, host Dr. Vahe Ohanessian introduces the concept of Self Relativity and the motivational philosophy behind the Theory of Self Relativity, which he founded.

Dr. Ohanessian discusses the importance of focusing on oneself to live life to its fullest potential, overcoming the common issue of being externally focused on others rather than on personal inner growth. He explains how Self Relativity aims to shift this focus inward, allowing individuals to self-reflect, introspect, and understand their relationships with others from a central, self-centric standpoint.

Dr. Ohanessian shares insights from his personal journey and experiences as a dentist and deep thinker, which led him to develop this theory aimed at providing a systematic approach to self-improvement beyond temporary motivation. Unlike other motivational systems that appeal to emotions without offering a clear roadmap for sustained improvement, Self Relativity offers practical strategies for identifying and overcoming internal negatives.

The episode concludes with a preview of the next episode, which will explore the 10 enemies of self-improvement.

 Dr. Vahé Ohanessian

Welcome to the Self Relativity Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Vahé Ohanessian. I am the founder of Theory of Self Relativity.  At Self Relativity, we believe to feel good, you must think well.  In this first episode, we will introduce you to Self Relativity and why I developed Theory of Self Relativity.  Self Relativity is how we relate to everything and everyone else.

The issue with this relativity is that we are more focused externally on other people and other things than we have been more focused on our own self.  In self relativity, we bring the focus onto ourselves so that we can live from a central core position  from the inside out. So we first deal with our own self, and then how we relate to everything and everyone else.

The mission statement of Self Relativity states, to live this improbably rare gift of life to its fullest possible potential.  The reason for that is because for us to exist, for life to exist in this universe, there's such an improbability, which is almost an impossibility. So if we are here, if we can think and if we feel, therefore this life that we have, we have to try to make it the best that it can possibly be.

The purpose of Theory of Self Relativity podcast  It's for us to become more in touch with ourselves, to be able to self reflect, and turn our observations cameras from outside to inside, to be able to observe and understand how we relate to everything and everyone else, and how we think, and how we feel when we are having these connections.

So it is very important for us to be able to turn the cameras back inside so that we can self reflect and introspect as to how we can live our life from a central position to the outside, so that we can understand our relativities to other people, so that we can run our life better in communication with other people.

I am Dr. Vahé Ohanessian.  I am the author of Theory of Self Relativity,  by profession I'm a dentist. I have been practicing for a few decades now.  My practice with people  have made me very aware of the connections that I create with people, especially in a demo environment where it could sometimes be stressful and people would not be willing to be there.

So therefore it allowed me to learn to  perspective tape with people so that I could see things from a different perspective. Their point of view, and I can try to understand how they felt when they came to the dental office.  Having said that,  since childhood, I was also a very deep thinker. I was very aware of my surroundings, and I always had very unusual questions that I asked myself about the world, about people, about myself.

In life, I've done many things that have been very good and beneficial, and I've also made some mistakes.  About a decade ago, I started thinking about how can I put my experience together, and what are the lessons that I've learned from life.  And when I started looking at everything, positive and negative, that had happened in my life,  I realized that there was one central factor to all of that,  and that is that four letter word, self.

I was central to everything that happened in my life, good or bad.  Therefore, I started bringing the focus to myself.  I turned the observation cameras inward to see what things were causing me to do things properly and what things were causing me to make mistakes.  And that is what led to the theory of self relativity, is that deep thinking and the observations of seeing how I related to everything and everyone else.

There are a lot of people out there that are looking to improve their life. Just like I was trying to improve my life,  and just like many other people, I reached out for some of these self help  teachings that were out there,  and I realized that most of them, they made me feel good in the short term. They were motivational, but none of them taught me how to be able to implement a system where I could consistently improve my life.

Most self help  programs are motivation based.  All the motivation is an important first step to start  motivation can very easily fade out if it is not followed by an implementation, which means a definite road map that can get us to the next level of how we improve ourselves.  This is why most people that are motivation oriented, they need another motivational quote, or they need another motivation the day after.

Just to keep themselves going motivation alone won't give us any results. Motivation needs to be followed by implementation and implementation has to be based on an understanding of what we need to do. We have to become aware and we have to understand what we need to do in order to improve our lives.

Most motivational systems out there are appeals to emotions. They tell us what we want to hear, but they don't tell us how to do it.  Most motivational systems out there are appeals to emotions, which means that they tell us something that makes us feel good, but they don't show us a roadmap as to how to improve our life.

The reason they do that is because it is a lot easier to appeal to our emotions And to temporarily make us feel good  than if there's a system to teach us how to move forward.  Additionally, by appealing to our emotions,  those systems that are trying to teach us the appeals to emotions, they can benefit much quickly from our commitment to it than if they had to take the long road of showing us what is wrong, which is often dislikable, and then how to improve that.

Self relativity is different than other motivational systems, because self relativity is not going to tell you what you want to hear.  Self relativity will tell you directly what needs to be done,  and sometimes it can be very dislikeable. However, a good system that wants to help you will tell you the truth, not what you want to hear.

Self relativity shows you how to reach within yourself, how to reach within the depths of your thoughts that are often non conscious. For you to be able to identify and observe the negativities within you that need improvement.  Once we improve our negativities, we can then get on the path of enjoying a lot more positivities.

You've been listening to the first episode of the Self Relativity Podcast.  In the next episode, we'll go through the 10 enemies of self improvement so that we can begin to see what the major causes of our inability to improve are.
