"That rule needs to die and it needs to die, NOW" - Debunking your style myths, Episode 14
May 20, 2024 Season 1 Episode 14

In today’s episode, I chat with Lauren about my favorite thing as a stylist: the psychology behind the clothes. I asked my Instagram community about the style messages they heard throughout their lives and I work to debunk these style myths.

I was not surprised that the most common style messages people have heard are about money & feeling guilty spending money on clothes. I share that I don’t believe in the concept of an item being “age-appropriate.” I was excited to learn all about the history of the myth of not wearing white after Labor Day.

I also talk about a positive style message - the importance of investing in closet staples as the foundation of your wardrobe. I always recommend investing in the best quality piece you can afford and don’t forget expensive doesn’t equal quality!
