Welcome to The Late Great Show with Rob Behrens. It’s a Commentary, News and Topics Podcast Relating to the Late Great Western World. This podcast will celebrate the greatness of the Western World, and speak broadly about its history, its contributions to mankind as well as the problems it's currently facing. I try to keep it fun by telling stories, discussing news and politics, as well as using a few sound effects for a little comic relief. The "The Late Great Show" title alludes to the challenges and outright attacks that the Western World currently faces. Are we living in "The Late Great Western World"? I sincerely hope not.

Creeping Totalitarianism and The Common Good
Welcome to Episode 5 of The Late Great Show podcast, with Rob Behrens. This episode details the endless safety and security rules that have been layered onto my workflow at my day job. I discuss how this seems to be an evolving attitude that has gone from, "I'll worry about my own safety" to "We'll worry about your safety and we will impose countless safety procedures on you to demonstrate our concern and more importantly, our power". This seems to be a new, ugly societal evolution. It's seems like more and more people are becoming obsessed with other people doing things the right way...their way. We all experienced this new social attitude during the COVID-19 pandemic. We learned that the people in power had an opinion of what was right and that all differing points of view were forbidden. Great injustices were perpetrated for the sake of, "The Common Good". So, this is not as trivial a problem as one might think. I hope you enjoy the podcast.
