In this episode of the Raw Parenting Podcast, Tom and Malorie dive into the unfiltered truth about induction and natural birth.

Drawing from both their personal experiences and expert opinions, they share the reasons for induction, such as health concerns or an overdue baby, and discuss the various methods used to kick-start contractions.

Malorie recounts her induction experience, which began with a burning sensation from the gel used to induce labor.

The contractions intensified quickly, leading her to opt for pain management, including an epidural. Despite the challenges, their first daughter was born after a long and exhausting labor.

In contrast, their second child arrived through natural birth. Malorie shares her journey of recognizing true contractions, laboring at home, and eventually heading to the hospital when the contractions became more frequent and intense.

Though she initially aimed for a drug-free birth, the slow dilation progress led her to choose an epidural once again. Tom also shares a frightening moment during the delivery when the baby's heart rate dropped dramatically, requiring swift intervention from the medical team.

Reflecting on their experiences, Malorie expresses her preference for natural birth, acknowledging that induction felt more intense and emotionally draining.

She encourages listeners to explore the resources mentioned in the episode and check out their previous video on what to pack for the hospital. Stay tuned for more raw and unfiltered parenting discussions on the Raw Parenting Podcast!
