In a matter of one day my plant went from lush and green, to begging for water.  Or did it?

Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every day of the week!  This is message #90 and I am Aaron Havens.

I have an umbrella plant in my room.  I bought it a couple years ago and had no idea what I was in for.  Come to find out, these things can live up to 25 years and can get 8+ feet high.  This is a great plant.  It’s growing and is healthy.  I repotted it a year or so ago, and it just basically needs watered occasionally.

I don’t really know what I’m doing with it, so I just keep an eye on it to evaluate if it needs anything.

The other day I looked at it and the leaves were getting kinda wilty.  Is that even a word?  Sagging.  I’ve learned this means its time for water.  The funny thing about that is the the thing went from lush and green to begging for water.  Or did it. Maybe it’s been sagging for a couple days.  I’m not sure.  All I knew was that I noticed it and it was thirsty.

What are signs that you are thirsty?

What are signs that you are pushing too hard?

What are signs that you’re not centered?

It’s kinda like my plant.  Obviously it didn’t just wilt over night.  It was giving me signs.  I just didn’t notice.

Do you go and go and go and then suddenly hit a wall?

Do you have gauges in your life that you evaluate your health?  Kinda like the dashboard of your car.  It’s easy to tell when you’re below a quarter of a tank and it might be time to refuel.  Our lives should be lived in a way to optimize our one and only life.  What are the areas you evaluate daily to make sure you are the best version of you?

My friends lets pay attention to how we are living.  I don’t want to wake up one day and realize I’m way unhealthy.  Do you?  Let’s be purposed on how we live and how we evaluate the way we live.

Thanks for calling in today.  Tune in tomorrow for the weekend edition of GIH.

For today… If your life had a dashboard… like a car… what are the main gauges you are evaluating to make sure you’re healthy?
