If you can just do this one thing… you’re well on your way to a productive day.

Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every day of the week!  This is message #95 and I am Aaron Havens.

My friends, would you attest to this?

Actions will change your attitude.
Motion will change your emotion.
Movement will change your moods.

It’s the start that stops most people.

Well I don’t feel like going to the gym.
Your feel is not real.  Tell yourself you’re going to get on the treadmill, once you start the hard part is done.  Once your body is in motion it will change the emotion you felt about it.  You’re bad attitude about getting on that darn treadmill will be annihilate one you hit start and put one foot in front of another.

Now obviously we are not just talking about treadmill or going to the gym.

What is ONE thing in your life you don’t FEEL like doing, yet you know it’s important.  Once you just get going on it, your simple action of starting, your motion of beginning it, your intentional purpose to begin movement is half the battle.  10 minutes from now we are hopefully all still alive.  We will arrive at that point in the future anyways… so why not arrive there after having done a mile on the treadmill, or making that phone call, or writing that proposal, or reading that book, or talking to that person, or sending that email or investing in that thing, or learning that instrument of speaking a new language or pivoting your path forward?!  Yeah, it’s that simple.  Actions will change your attitude.  Motion will change your emotion.  Movement will change your mood.  And, yeah, take it from me… it might not change EVERYTHING about that situation… however, you will feel better and think better by just starting on that thing you’ve been dragging your feet on.

Thanks for calling in today.  Tune in tomorrow for the weekend edition of GIH where I get to hear from you.  What topics this week resonated the most with you.  What are some leadership lessons you’re learning?  And for today… after the beep… what is something you’ve been dragging your feet on that you will simple hit play/start on today?
