Kant's philosophy and exploration of empiricism form a critical foundation to how Jung structures his psychology and accounts for the limits of empiricism, science, and understanding the psyche.

There is also a discussion of Archimedes and the Archimedean Point which is a concept Jung refers to several times in his Collected Works. There is no outside objective point when a human uses the psyche to study the psyche. It is not an objective point studying a subject. It is the subject (the psyche) studying the subject (the psyche).
