Speaker 1:

Welcome back to Cafe Conversations, where we blend the latest in artificial intelligence with the comfort of your favorite cafe setting. I'm Sahar, your AI whisperer and barista of knowledge, pouring out another fresh episode. Today we are brewing a special blend of the newest developments in AI as it stands of this week, spiced with a dash of the future and a pinch of philosophy. So grab your coffee, find a cozy spot and let's dive into the world of AI as it stands today and where it's headed tomorrow. Let me take a sip of my coffee here.

Speaker 1:

This week in AI has been buzzing, with advancements From smarter home assistance to AI making strides in medical diagnostic. The pace at which technology is evolving is nothing short of astounding. Major breakthrough in natural language processing this week, researchers around significant improvements in translation algorithms. These new models can now handle not just major languages but also many lesser known dialects with impressive accuracy. This development is crucial because it bridges communication gaps and brings diverse cultures closer together. As we know, we are in the united states. We come from everywhere. We come carrying with us our communication styles, our dialects and our accents. So having that with AI can help not only people understand each other in a better manner, but also maybe help people with their accents and their dialects to make sure that we integrate with everybody. I I see that as a plus, being a dei professional.

Speaker 1:

Now moving to healthcare, an exciting update comes from a team working on ai driven diagnostic tools. This is like one of the best thing I love about it. They have unveiled a system that can predict the onset of certain chronic diseases up to six months earlier than current methods by analyzing patterns in routine blood tests combined with historical health data. This AI provides doctors a longer window to intervene effectively. They are also mainly concentrating on things like Alzheimer's and dementia, which so far there has been very little progress about it, and from what I have heard, they are trying to use this diagnostic into cancer and finding and diagnosing cancer in very early stages. I'm sure that this will save a lot of lives for the future. I'm very sensitive to that because I lost my baby sister to cancer over 15 years ago, so any progress that can be done, I'm all for it. Also, in the autonomous vehicles, this week has seen a leap forward in ai driven navigation systems. A new startup has introduced technology that integrates real-time traffic data with weather conditions and historical accident statistic to plot safer routes. For someone that drives a lot, like me, and I use a lot of ways, and it has been great, so I'm sure that this will apply to it as well. It's not just about getting you where you are going faster, but it's also ensuring you arrive safer.

Speaker 1:

Now let's talk about something that has been on many people's minds, which is AI in the workforce. This week, a tech giant released a report detailing the impact of AI tools in augmenting human jobs rather than replacing them, because a lot of people are scared. They say, oh, I don't want to use it. I see it on all of social media. I don't want to use AI because it's taking away jobs from people. So actually, they work in now to augment the human jobs rather than replacing them. They showcased an AI system that assist architects by generating preliminary design drafts based on specified parameters. This allows creative professionals to spend more time refining designs and interacting with clients, enhancing both productivity and job satisfaction.

Speaker 1:

Also, I want to touch on a topic that is a bit futuristic but becoming more relevant by the day AI in environmental sustainability. Ai in environmental sustainability, a new AI application introduced this week, helps small and medium-sized farms optimize water usage. Especially being in California, this is hugely important. By analyzing weather forecasts, soil conditions and crop types, the AI system advises farmers on the precise amount of water needed, significantly reducing waste and supporting sustainable practices. Each of these developments not only pushes the boundaries of what AI can achieve, but also highlights how integral this technology is becoming in solving the world problem, from health and safety to sustainability and beyond.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I'm loving this. I'm loving this. Okay, but let's make this practical and a bit more grounded, starting with something called prompt engineering and prompt chaining, and I teach that in my workshops because it's very important not only to know general idea about what AI can do, but actually being able to use it. So what is prompt engineering? Imagine walking into this cafe and, instead of ordering your usual with a simple coffee with cream, you give specific guided instruction to achieve the exact taste you desire. That's what prompt engineering in ai entails. It's about crafting the input to an ai system, which is the prompt, in a way that guides it to produce the desired output.

Speaker 1:

I hear people by the dozen say, oh, I use ai every day, but when I really examine what they have been doing, I just realized that I'm really not using it the right way. Ai will always respond. If you ask ai about a yellow cow, it will give you a description garbage in, garbage out. How do you use it? What prompt engineering entails is what will differentiate you in the future between success and not so much success. You need to know how to prompt engineer it. It has to be a big prompt. We need to remember that. Still, ai doesn't have contacts, doesn't have the experience, doesn't have the analytics, doesn't have the emotions, doesn't have the background, doesn't have quit procore, doesn't have. When we do this, this, what will happen doesn't predict the future, at least as of now. So we need to make sure that a prompt engineering is fully integrated to make sure that we have the proper responses. If not, it's not going to work for you. Again, it's like there are no bad dogs that only bad dog owners. Okay, I always say that garbage in, garbage out.

Speaker 1:

Then, after prompt engineering, there's something called prompt chaining. This is where it gets even more interesting. It involves using the output of one prompt as the input for another, creating a chain of prompts that guide the ai through a more complex thought process or task. Think of it as teaching your AI barista not just how to make your perfect espresso, but also how to serve it with the ideal pastry pairing, step by step. It's very important also to know that, at least on the paid and I tried it even with one of my clients on their free chat GPT, ai chat GPT has a memory. You just need to make sure to share your information.

Speaker 1:

But if you wanted to remember your writing style, paste two or three of your articles of your blog, ask it, and it goes by step. First you need to ask it to edit your style of writing, including punctuation, length of sentences, your verbs. You know how do you write, you know your emotions and let it critique. You then ask it how can you make it better and then ask it to read, to rewrite what you already pasted, and then ask it to remember this style as enter your name writing style and from now on, whenever you want to get that on the surface for chat gpt to use it in writing your post, so it becomes your brand voice, you just have to recall asking it to make sure to follow your your name writing style, which is awesome, that's what prompt engineering and prompt chaining and the memory of it. Why does this matter? Why do I share this information because as ai becomes more integrating in our lives being able to effectively communicate with the systems, essentially speaking the language it will become an invaluable skill.

Speaker 1:

It's here, it's not going away. We might as well learn how to use it. Whether you are a developer, a marketeer or just a tech enthusiast, understanding how to interact with AI can significantly amplify your ability to leverage this technology. We cannot be an ostrich putting our head in the sand. Many people are complaining about it, about AI, but if you don't learn it, you're not going to be able to overcome the bad side effects of it. Ignoring it is not going to make it go away. You know, if we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

Speaker 1:

So, for example, you can ask it to help you brainstorm. How do you do that? You go to your chat GPT and you log into your account. You make sure that now even the three accounts have chat GPT four. So you choose that from the model on the top and you ask chat GPT to help you. You choose that from the model on the top and you ask chat GPT to help you brainstorm, but you have to enter a role first. So as my mentor, as my coach, as my strategist, whatever you want the role to be, you have to enter it first, and then you enter it to help you brainstorm, and then you give it the main topic of your ideas and subtopics. For example, you can say you can ask it at the end to create a mind map, to brainstorm new ideas of your business, of your idea, of your proposal, of your curriculum, whatever is it that you want to enter. Start with the central topic, which is the main topic, and branch out to subtopics, like what you want under it, and then you can even turn this interactive to a chart by selecting the click icon on the top. When you are done, okay, a lot of Little jewels I'm dropping in today.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now into a hotter topic that has been having a lot of future AI. Today in the news in the New York Times I read that a lot of past employees have been finding complaints that open AI is not doing enough to secure the future from AI aggression or AI taking over. So, with all these advancements, it's natural to wonder about AI's role in our future. And, yes, some are skeptical and even fearful that AI might one day surpass human intelligence. There is no one person. There is not one person today that can tell you what is the future of AI and, I'm being very honest, there is not one person that can predict what will happen with AI. But while AI is advancing rapidly, the idea of it taking over humanity, like in sci-fi movies, is still far from our current reality, and we still have the power to control that, and that's why we need to learn it.

Speaker 1:

Ai operates within a set of programmed capabilities and lacks the consciousness or emotional depth that humans possess. The focus among leading AI researchers is on ensuring AI to develop safely and ethically, enhancing human capabilities rather than replacing them. So AI is a tool, much like a coffee machine. It's here to enhance our lives, make tasks easier and open new possibilities. The future we are looking at is more about collaboration between humans and AI. If we make it work that way, if we make it work that way, if we make it work that way, each complementing the other, strength, creating a synergetic relationship that could solve some of our biggest challenge.

Speaker 1:

There will always be greed Human beings are known to be greedy, and if there is greed, we're gonna have the downfall of AI. But if we prepare ourselves from today and we study it. We can counteract that. Look at the atomic bomb. What came from it was evil, but it was originally formed to help science. There is always a bad side to anything we invent. We, as human beings, we should be. After all these experiences that we went through, we should be smart enough to know how to protect ourselves, not to ignore it and not to be greedy. Greed will extinguish who we are.

Speaker 1:

So, as we finish today's cup, let's reflect on how AI, when used wisely, has the potential to transform our world in a positive manner. Whether it's helping doctors diagnose diseases earlier or making our daily routines more efficient, ai has much to offer. So let's approach the future not with fear, but with curiosity and a readiness to learn and adapt. Thank you for joining me on this exploration into AI. Do not forget to subscribe.
